The nicest folks can be found here. Definitely the place to unwind with a drink. Very unique watering hole. From the bar it's self [see pic] to it's owner, Harry. Have Monica draw you a cold beer from tap. Sit down and relax.

Harry's Tinaja is a such an Alpine local gem! The place is plastered in dollar bills (don't forget to add one!) and they've got a great outdoor patio! Patrons were super nice and made this out-of-towner feel like a local. If you're lucky, you'll catch Harry behind the bar who is welcoming and friendly. If you're looking for food, you'll need to come on a food truck day, because otherwise it's drinks only. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're visiting Alpine!

My favorite bar in Alpine, TX, hands down. Harry and the crew are friendly and ready to quench your thirst. This bar is CASH ONLY, but if you don't read this before you go, someone will probably buy you a beer if all you have is a card. It's that kind of place. There are a few craft beers here in bottles or cans, but expect Lone Star and the like. If you are a musician, bring your guitar or whatever, or use one of the two house guitars and pick a few out on the patio. Don't be shy. Remember, everybody is welcome at Harry's, at least once. And if you haven't been to Harry's, you haven't been to Alpine. Pro tip #1: Decorate a dollar bill then ask for the stapler to hang it on the ceiling to memorialize your visit. Pro tip #2: Buy a couple of free beer tokens from the bartender and give them to the nice people you meet while you are there.

Great bar, we had a couple beers and chatted with the very friendly bartender Lindsey (hope I spelled it right!). Note to folks looking for a meal in Alpine: despite pictures appearing elsewhere on this listing showing entrees and/or appetizers, they don't have a kitchen. Light snacks only - but peanuts in the shell are an underrated bar snack in 2019 so I'm not complaining! Cheap beers too (beer only but they can work something out for ya if you want to bring in liquor to have a cocktail or so the story has it...)

As a train rider, this place is dear to my heart. Many others feel the same. I haven't been back to alpine since it's closed and it breaks my heart to think about. Always had a good time here. Harry treated us well and Sierra too. Locals found me endearing enough to welcome me n my dog to their homes for a night here and there. Sierra, Mr Wayne, Ms Char I hope u see this n remember the traveler w the little grey pitbull. Still think of y'all often

Wandered into Harry's after a long day hiking around Big Bend. Sarah and Harry made me feel right at home. Ended up having a great night chatting, drinking lone stars and meeting a few of the very friendly locals. Thanks again for making my visit memorable! Still owe you guys a beer!

This place is great. Everyone who works there is friendly and prompt. You'll feel like a local immedietely. Patrons are also friendly and fun. This is the best bar in Alpine. Good selection and service. Anyone that gives less than 5 stars doesn't understand bar culture. Go here. Cash only!

We randomly stumbled into Harry’s bar and it was such a great place! We love to go to places where locals usually go and that’s exactly what we got. Plus the owner Harry is from my homeland Germany as well and it was great to chat in German 😉 highly recommend this bar.

Great atmosphere. When you walk in, you can just feel and see the history in the cantina. There are $1 bills with signatures galore(just look at the ceiling). Harry is very inviting along with his coworkers. I can't wait to drink a few more beers at this place!

A watering hole where if you are a local, everyone knows your name. If your passing through town, bring cash - that's all they accept, everyone is very friendly and have a few rounds. The women's rest room has aloe and hairspray should your night require either. Small town Texas spot.

Great little dive when you’re in Alpine. Harry is quite the character. Bring him some Snyders pretzels and tell him they are from Kathy.

The service was great! Not too sure about the owner. A very cute laid-back little place. Also, very friendly and generous patrons! I will definitely be back!

Harry’s Tajana I love visiting local joints. They are usually warm, welcoming, and full of interesting people. We definitely received a very cold shoulder from all the patrons. When we inquired about a local business that had recently closed the bar tender spoke very badly about them/it. Leave this one alone and step down the street to the next bar which is far different. Beer and wine only, no food. CASH only which is common is smaller towns out here.
