La Esquina Amsterdam Avenue Reviews
Oh WOW!!! The place and the food is amazing!!! The waitress is so kind and professional!!! Best experience in Amsterdam! Thank you 😍 " the hungry, hungarian guys " 😉
We had the pleasant experience to come here on the day of their opening. Unfortunately, we didn't have too much time to stay but finding this place was a total and positive surprise! The energy was great, very welcoming and friendly. We had the Calamari, not the typical one you have in most places, but the baby octopus, which was a nice touch that we appreciated. The wine was good and we had the opportunity to taste it so we'd make sure we were satisfied with our decision. Something we also appreciate. Totally recommend to come and check it out, and wish much success to Cantina L'esquina!
We went here for a quick drink and bite, but we were amazed by the service and quality even of the bites. We had bitterballen and they were the best I’ve had in a long time, and I do like my bitterballen. The atmosphere is very cozy, “gezellig” as we call it in Dutch. The staff was very friendly and engaging with their customers. Highly recommend, 9,5/10.
We had a lovely time at the terrace, and the bites were really tasty! Also I nice selection of mediterranean drinks that I miss from home - like sangria!

One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Since the first time I came there they have been so attentive with my celiac disease (gluten intolerance). They always think with me on how they can cater to my intolerance. In addition the owner and chef are kind and always create a super nice atmosphere in the place. The food is delicious and it’s definitely a place you come back to.
We were meaning to try this place for a long time as we live very nearby. We loved it!! Piri piri chicken, artichoke, patatas bravas and calamari were all great. Weather was lovely so we sat outside but inside of the restaurant looked very chic and stylish. And the staff was friendly. We hope to become regulars!
The food comprises a varied set of dishes from Southern European countries. As a Portuguese couple, we almost feel at home with the available food flavours and wine selection! The location is wonderful, and the manager and team are amazing, very welcoming and cheerful.
Really good food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere.
Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. Good food, generously portioned. Recommended for date night or just bites with friends.
As a Spaniard, this was amazing! Robin and Lorena were superb and the food was perfect!
BEST beer in Amsterdam... Just try the 1906!👍
Great experience, the owner is very friendly and accommodating

A very nice restaurant serving both complete dishes and small dishes like tapas. We had a few of them and a nice glass of white wine.
Great place to visit occasionally, with comfy seating. The wine was great as was the food - it gets 4/5 stars because I feel It’s a little over priced. ~€68 for 2 (3 tapas, 1 wine, 2 beers n a water)
Delicious tapas, drinks, great atmosphere. The service could be more attentive, would be good to see it improved and definitely come back!

Food selection seems to have expanded. But I wasn't as impressed with the taste of the food. The small plates seemed more like bar snacks, especially for the price. Service was overall good but we had one dish take most of the meal to prepare because of a miscommunication with the kitchen. Will likely go again as the terrace was nice.
Staff are friendly, the wine food was good. Outside and indoor seating

This is a nice outdoor location to sit and have a drink, but be careful AND CHECK YOUR BILL, as we had extra drinks put on our bill (today), which we did not purchase or consume? Padding the bill with fake charges is a nice way to raise revenue but not a good way to get repeat customers.
The service was too slow. We were there for 75 minutes just for a starter and a main. It seems like the staff just didn't notice us. The food was good though.

I sat down with my two daughters outside and was completely ignored for 10 minutes before we gave up and went across the street to d’Overkant. Clearly they don’t want customers or only care about conference crowds from the RAI.
