Panera Bread Amsterdam Reviews
While the new cashier/front desk girl was super nice, she needs more training. I asked her to tell me which soups were vegetarian and she didn't know and was making things up...she's young and was eager to help..but not being truthful isnt really okay when it comes to whether something has a chicken stock base or vegetarian base. She was very nice and will do well in customer service but needs to ask someone if she needs help, thats all! Additionally, whats stops my family from coming more often is the big price tag. If prices were cheaper even by a couple dollars I know we would be there way more often.
I hadn't visited Panera in years! The food is as fantastic as I remember! The staff was super kind, and prompt. Prices are a bit high but honestly the food is worth it! My only complaint was that my lemonade order was like water. It was kindly replaced. And the French onion soup arrived room temp with no melty cheese. Kind of a bummer. Otherwise great salads, and sandwiches...and drink after I got a replacement.
Food was ready quickly for peak lunch rush! Great location with friendly staff.
Three choices, all ranked very differently. Stopped in at Panera in Amsterdam during a day off to treat myself to breakfast out, using their kiosk to order my food. Went with the CinnaScramble, Egg & Cheese Croissant, and a Greek Yogurt Parfait. Initially forgot my Coffee, so I went back and just purchase that right from the counter. Total coming to a bit over $27. Right off the bat I have to say the coffee, a decaf, was surprisingly smooth. I'm no coffee snob, but man, I was not expecting a Panera brewed decaf coffee to be that tasty. The croissant was, made wrong as they included sausage, but they did offer to remake it for me. (but I hate wasting food more than I dislike red meat) I think the croissant was a bit too soft, and it kind of just smooshed into the eggs and cheese. The flavor wasn't great either, having this strange oily taste to it. The cinnascramble on the other hand was pretty good, with the sweetness of the cinnamon bun contrasting with the egg and cheese. It reminded me of dipping bacon in maple syrup, but not as sweet. Lastly the parfait, very refreshing, lots of yogurt, but I think they could cut out the pumpkin seeds and almond slices. There was a little too much going on in there with the textures. Overall, not the best breakfast I have had at a Panera, but it was quite inside with only a few other customers. There was a strange floor cleaner smell near the waiting area for orders, not sure what that was about. But for what I paid for just 3 menu items and a cup of joe, I'd probably run with a different choice next time.
Very nice place for a quick bite, or a relaxing lunch with a friend. Great atmosphere, private enough for a friends to have a personal conversion. Very yummy food and beverage selection! The coffee, don't even get me started, lol, it's wonderful. Really something for everyone, I have yet to try everything. They also provide free WiFi service, so if you're going in for coffee and need to catch up on some business, this is the perfect place to do so. Plenty of seating, spaced very nicely apart. Highly recommend!
Took quite a while to get a coffee, seemed to be a bit busy. One staff just moving bags of food from one counter to another after minutes or so finally asked what I needed then went right back to talking to other staff.
O ordered broccoli and cheese soup for me and my daughter. The soup was barely warm. The side of bread was so hard to rip apart or even cut .like it wad 2 days old. I normally love panera. But not today!!
Food was good, basically waited on myself, took quite a while for the food to come out. The worst part for me was that they allowed animals to eat outside with you. I watched the people next to me let their dog walk all over the table, this is unexceptable and quite frankly disgusting to be out eating in a public place like that with dogs all over.
Foods good. Wait a long time at the counter to order. Volume of food varies. Sometime your salad is small and sometimes normal sized for the same order.
No Chicken Noodle soup. No Chicken and wild rice soup. NO BREAD!?...at a soup and bread place. And I was rudely told I "should have gotten there before the dinner rush". The sandwich I did end up getting seemed to be made by someone who has not only never eaten a sandwich but has never considered how a sandwich should be made. Incredibly disappointed and will never come to this location again.
I picked Panera because it was a convenient halfway meeting spot. The cashier was friendly and my cappuccino was good, but everything else was disappointing. The table we sat at had a low hanging lamp and I kept bumping my head on it. When I looked up, the lamp shade was full of bugs and dust. On my way out I ordered a Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salad, and when I opened it on the drive home there was no chicken on it. Total waste of money. I will not be back.
Dressing cup isn’t filled and my chicken salad didn’t come with chicken. Wouldn’t expect anything else from Amsterdam though
Thursday 08-28-25 stopped in & ordered box of coffee, 18 assorted bagels & 2 tubs of cream cheese for Saturday 08-30-25, 7:15 a.m. Arrived 08-30 7:12 a.m. got order at 07:30, 15 minutes late & store was not busy. Specifically asked if coffee condiments & cups were in the bag. Was told yes. Took to destination. Coffee box only ⅔ full, no cups or condiments. Back to store. Was told ⅔ full was standard becuse of spillage, no longer supply condoments with box's of coffee. Should have been informed of that when ordered. I did get 20 cups though Gave you 1* because nothing lower. You probably will not post this but anyone I talk to will be made aware .
i ordered the soup for here in a bowl and they put it to go when i asked where the bowl is they said its in the bag then just threw a plate and bowl on the counter and gave me a lot of attitude they also forgot the side apple i gave them a pretty nice tip before this occurred and feel like they were jerks to me never spending money at this dump again
I truly hate to post negative reviews because I believe every company has its bad days, but this has happened more than once, and this is the last straw. We ordered meals for 3 people, which was about $75 worth of food and drinks. The mac and cheese was cold, not hot, not warm but COLD. When I asked if they can heat it up, the manager with the red hat said " there's a microwave over there, you can heat it up for as long as you like" exact words, OK. Then the Mediterranean veggie sandwhich had wilted arugula, and the hummus tasted old. I took one bite and couldn't eat another, We asked for our money back for the sandwich, and they obliged, they offered to make something else, to which I respectfully declined, but not an apology for the quality of the meals or the service. Now I see why this place was empty at 630pm. This establishment was awesome when it first opened, and now it's slowly declined. The staff clearly doesn't want to service the public. Sad to say, but I will never return to this location.
I don’t normally post anything like this, but the experience at this store was not at all like I have experienced here before. We went in and got two Madagascar vanilla lattes, hot. One of them tasted correct and like it always tastes, while the other, my partner got and he did not like. I tried it as well and it tasted nothing like mine. After he went back up, asking them to remake, they gave him one which tasted the same as the previous. Keep in mind, he tried to give the original back but they said they could not take it so he had a latte he did not want and received a second that tasted just like it, not like the one that I had received which was great. Again this was not like the one I got which was supposedly the exact same drink. They also didn’t fill the drink, they only filled the cup to half and the rest with whipped cream. Fed up, he went to get his money back because it is ridiculous to spend that amount on a coffee that wasn’t what you wanted when you received one that was made correctly. The manager then proceeded to give attitude and challenge saying “funny I made this exactly to company specifications” and reached across the counter and whipped the drink into the trash can. He was rude, and offensive. I had taken a sip of my drink again, to compare against the second one and they didn’t taste the same. Mine tasted like vanilla and the others didn’t taste at all of vanilla. Then to be rude when someone asks for their money back after asking you to right it twice is ridiculous. The other employees behind the counter were super kind and apologetic and for a manger to act this way… not a good experience.
We went to Panera to dine-in around 8:35 pm on Saturday, but they were already planning to close the store early. The floors that were mopped and very wet and unsafe to walk on, but with no caution signs. The cashier told us that they were closing and will not deliver food at our table, so we had to place the order as take-out, instead of dine-in. When we received our order the chips were missing which we got instead of baguette as they didn't have any more of those, and the food was too salty. When I asked the store manager about their early store cleaning, he informed me that they clean their store 30 minutes before closing which was odd compared to other Panera stores who allow their customers to dine-in until the closing time. The place is not up to mark as their cushion seats are ripped (see picture). Also, when I asked for the district manager's name, the manager refused to provide the details.
Had an awful experience on Memorial Day- entire staff was rushing to close early, 2 hours before published closing time, and forgot one third of our dinner order. Got all the way home before I realized we were missing food! Almost wasn’t let back in when I rushed back to get the missing food. Staff was annoyed that I came back! Insane! On top of all that, our $14 teriyaki broccoli bowl was tiny & looked almost inedible. Including a photo here of what it looked like out of the box. Cmon Panera! You’re better than this!
I went to get a dozen bagels and the young lady at the front register with the green hair had a bad attitude and to make matters worst about 5 of my bagels were sliced horribly!! I asked for regular cream cheese along with onion and chives and I got honey walnut. Bad attitude and bad service what a shame !
