Shipley's Do-Nuts Arlington Reviews
This was my first experience buying from Shipley, although their coffee and kolaches are awfully common in this area, so I've had them before. The website and app were extremely easy to use, and due to the size of my order I earned a reward of six free donuts right on my first visit (in addition to the two for registering an account). The food is outstanding, of course, and the customer service when I went to pick up my large order was fantastic- everything was packaged for convenience and so the coffee wouldn't spill, labeled well, and served in a friendly and professional manner. Highly recommended, and I'll be back.
I love this location. The owners are very nice donuts always fresh and hot. I don’t know why people giving bad reviews cause it’s one of the best locations. I’ll go there just about every other morning just had a problem with one of the staffs. She never smiled. She always seemed like she was sad but overall best location.👍🏼
I placed a large pick up order ahead of time for a work event. They called me the day before to confirm and had it all ready to go when I arrived. Everything was so fresh! I'll definitely be back.
Donuts are delicious per usual. Drive thru is a little tight.
This location is sweet (no pun intended)! Everything is made fresh out of the oven, and while they do run out of items quickly due to their early hours, the quality makes it worth the stop. The staff is pleasant, and the donuts and pastries are always delicious. A perfect place for a quick breakfast or snack.
Wonderful customer service. The sweet girl working the drive thru was so personable and friendly and knew the menu so well! I think her name is Alexandria! She gave us great recommendations and the food was perfect :)
Very convenient to have drive thru. Donuts were good and customer service was good as well. Not to over priced either
It's a Shipley's! We don't have any locally but my trip to Arlington afforded the opportunity to have my favorite donuts! I was there at 430 as they opened. They are just as good now as they were 6 decades ago! Hey, the store is clean and the staff friendly also. Chocolate filled...yum!
Excellent donuts and solid coffee! I have had Shipley’s over the course of almost four decades, in Houston and Dallas. They are the best in the nation in my opinion. I’ve been to this location 2-3 times and it’s always wonderful. The young lady who helped me this morning is a genuine, hardworking, and kind soul. She made my day! She made sure I had everything and got me on my way. Also, the donuts are a work of art…See the pic!
GF options are lacking here and I wish they had more than just drinks for me now. I used to come here a lot to get their Old Fashioned Cinnamon rolls, which were my all time favorite, but now I can't eat them because I'm medically advised to be GF. I would love to come back if they decide to add some GF options.
I got 6 chocolate covered "cake" donuts. They were not very good at all. They didn't even taste like cake donuts. They were thin, over cooked donuts that were crispy and crunchy with many hard "things" inside the "cake". Plus they had more of a grease taste (???) than any donut taste. Very disappointing. Won't be going back there any more.
Got chocolate covered donuts and they tasted like they were made yesterday. They were cold and dried out like they were refrigerated. This was my first and last time going to this location. Definitely like the Shipleys I've been to before
I went to the store with a few minutes before they closed, and when I walked in, they already closed their registers so they couldn't take my order. Stores should be able to take orders up until they close and not close their registers early. Highly disappointed.
I was craving to eat donuts. However, they were chewy and became lump of dough on my mouth. I had bought 2 types and both landed in trash after i took one bite of both.
If you grew up in Texas, chances are you have been to Shipleys a whole lot in your lifetime. This is the first Shipleys I’ve gone to since I moved to the area, that was disappointing over and over and over again. I’ve come here for their kolaches before work in the morning, and every single time they have tasted off or overcooked/dry. The first few times I went, there was a weird taste to the food that I had to throw it away for safety concerns. Either the cheese, or the sausage had a rancid spoiled taste to it. Could have been the dough, not too sure. I just know it was not good or safe. I gave it a shot, a couple of weeks late, and sure enough again, the same thing. In addition to that, they are always really overcooked, kolaches. Or are they probably have been reheated multiple times and are just dried out. The inside is just hollow with the cheese dried up. They’re also pretty small in comparison to what I’m used to. It’s not the gooey fresh delicious kolaches. I’m used to from Shipleys. The glaze donuts had a raw taste to them the first two times as if the dough was undercooked,, but the other day they brought them into work, and they were pretty good. I mean, it’s pretty hard to mess up donuts. In my opinion. This location is super underwhelming, and it makes me sad because I love Shipleys kolache’s - But it’s no longer an option for me here.
Look nasty and was out of donuts, 10 AM in the morning and was not gonna make any more glazed donuts nor hose and flies with flying around over the donuts not a good look thank God I didn’t buy anything
I grew up eating donuts from this Shipley’s location & when the original owners/workers were there everything was smooth & they valued their customers. Today was the first time in a while that I was able to get up to try to get donuts and normally if you request freshly made glazed , they would make you for you, This morning I drove 30 minutes to come to this location. They were not busy and I requested fresh donuts that I was willing to wait for not for donuts that have been sitting out & I was told that they were not going to do anymore until they sold the ones that I’ve just been sitting there, While I understand that to a certain extent, I feel like when you have a customer that’s willing to wait and you’re not busy you could’ve tried to accommodate but This is the exact reason that my family and I do not go out of our way to come to this location anymore because they do not value their customers like the old owners.
This review is for the Shipleys at 501 E. Abrams st. What used to be the best donuts in town has gone down hill. I went and purchased a dozen on Father's day and they tasted like they were made last week. Find another shop if you want fresh donuts because these are the pits
I have been getting Shipley’s since I was a little girl. Their motto, “When they bite into that hot do-nut, it will bring them back every time.” Sadly, this is far from the case. The donuts were dry & cold. When I called to speak with a manager, I was told the manager wasn’t there. I asked the girl what could be done. She stated, “She’s not sure because all the donuts are made at the same time.” I told her I wouldn’t be coming back & she said, “No worries!”
You'll pull up to the drive thru window only to have the staff stare at you... Please remember, a greeting is hospitality 101. I ordered three Egg Cheese and Jalapeño kolaches and a couple of donuts only to get home and realize they didnt actually give me the kolaches I ordered. No big deal right, but once I bit into them, they were way too salty to be enjoyable. And when youd rather just throw them away then finish them you cant say you liked your breakfast. I wouldn't recommend the kolaches at all and wont be back.
