Apicius Astoria Reviews
Best regular pizza I ever had… and I really generally do not enjoy pizza, location in perfect part of the area and really lovely authentic vibe to the place with some outside seating perfect for summer time. I went back her twice during my visit to the States🍕😍👌🏾
I've been to just about every pizza restaurant in queens since I moved here from Brooklyn. The pizza wasn't bad but it didn't have that Brooklyn greatness, so happy I found Apicius pizzeria, their slices and garlic knots, top notch, they have definitely gained a new loyal customer. 👌 come check it out!!!
Fantastic pizza. The grandma slices are out of this world. ♦️PRO TIP: If you want it fresh, order a grandma pie WITH EXTRA BASIL🌿and ask for it to be cooked extra crispy / WELL DONE. Comes out fantastic and the crisp is next level (see pic)
This pasta with meat sauce was straight up bussin and the pizza is even better.

I really like this pizzeria! It's a bit tucked away on Steinway but worth stopping by. The pies are good with reasonable portions. The pizza knots and salads are also pretty yummy. I appreciate that the staff are always straightforward and friendly.
Best pizza in Queens! The sauce is perfect balance of salty, tangy and sweet, the mozzarella is salty and spread perfectly. The crust is perfectly salty, thin and chewy with a little crisp but not too much amd never burnt. Lovely seating area makes a good spot for a lively, casual dinner spot. The owner is so humble and such a kind guy. He and the warm hearted woman are a great, funny duo. Call me a regular. Try the Broccoli Pinwheels! They are so good and you can say you ate your greens for the day.
I am a regular here & absolutely love the freshness in their food, they are pleasant people every time! I always get pizza & garlic knots & the crunch is my favorite part. I’ve recommended many people from my job to order & they’ve said the same thing! Great food
Absolutely delicious pizza ! The garlic knots are so flavorful. The service is great. Shop is very well kept and clean. 5/5 definitely recommend.
Best pizza in queens!! Hands down best pie I've had in years. Service was quick and helpful. You can pick from there ready to go case or get a fresh pie minutes. If you need a new goto pizza place in queens this is definitely the place for you.
I’m very picky with my pizza. As a truck driver from Jersey I stopped here on my way home so I wouldn’t be hangry in traffic for an hour and a half. What I found was exactly what I’ve been searching for in the NY pizza scene…. The perfect slice! The flavor, texture and crunch are unlike many Pizzaria slices in NY. I now stop there almost every day for a slice or 2. Staff is very nice as well. 10 stars
Food quality is consistent and delivery is quick.
Best pizza in Astoria! Great food and wonderful owners! Always greeted with a smile and they make you feel like you are at home. Glad to have this place in our neighborhood!
Very good food and great service!

I have been ordering food from here for about 10 years. I love their Pizza, chicken francese and chicken marsala with a side of angel hair pasta. I've tried other food from there it's all good those just happen to be my favorite dishes. Large portions and fast delivery service.
Apicius Pizza is AWESOME!!! Everything that we have eaten at Apicius has been EXCELLENT!!! As an Italian Chef and former Italian Restaurant owner, (and Self Proclaimed Pizza snob), I can honestly say that they have a genuine knowledge and Love for the Italian Cuisine. The Owner and the entire staff are just Incredibly Great people. This is the type of Family establishment that we should support and promote because they do their best to keep customers happy and they Just Really Deserve it!!! Rock On Apicius, We Love You Guys!!!
We had a cheese pie and they baked it fresh on the spot. Pizza looked top notch, perfectly spread cheese and thin crispy crust. But, the pizza was overly salty and the cheese was hard to chew.

Margarita Pizza? It's soft, the cheese slides off and it has no basil. My wife called to question what was delivered, instantly noticing there was no basil. She was met with an unapologetic response. "It is margarita pizza, there is fresh mozzarella and garlic... We are out of basil." Well then, you cannot sell a margarita pizza, can you? The right thing to do is call the customer prior to making it and explain the situation. If you fail to do that, offer a discount or partial refund or something. I can only imagine they must be super busy, since the pizza was rushed out of the oven and into a box. The cheese moved all over. The dough was still soft. The product is forgivable, if the service is there. The service is tolerable if the product is good. Today there was a failure on both accounts.
Elated to say this place is Finally shut down the pizza is low and subpar
Save your money for something decent that doesn’t look like it was run over when it arrives.

My wife which is 8 month pregnant went inside and ask to use the restroom, and the men that works there plain and simple told her that she can’t use it. Didn’t even ask is she was gonna buy food. At that point she didnt want any food from them anymore. P
I just left this place after taking my son to Bounce n play. The pizza was NASTY! I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and had to give it back. It was burnt and stale! Had them switch it for a plain pizza. No flavor at all. Just nasty. The dollar pizza in the city is way better. I would never go back. The only good thing was my beer. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. Trust and believe you will regret it. Just awful!!!!
This pizza is absolutely terrible, cheese is old and tastes like a tire!!! Not only is the food itself bad quality but the condition of the place is horrible too! I’m not sure how they get so many customers. There is no Air Conditioning, and the ceiling tiles are God knows how old. The tiles have a leak and the workers touch the pizza with their bare hands. The main guy, is also extremely rude and ignorant. So much for “The best Italian cuisine in Astoria”, right?
