Junko Sushi Astoria Reviews
Nice little sushi shop with a good selection of different rolls and other items. They have a good amount of seating. Ideal of a casual sit in spot and also takeout. We got takeout and tried the sweet potato roll and the shrimp california roll, both great! Pricing was good and service was great and friendly.
Food was great, the noodles were fantastic. The sushi portions were a bit small and pricy. But very delicious and fresh.
Glad I popped back into this place, the fish is as fresh as I remember and the rolls were made well with great flavor. Don't let the quiet inside fool you (busy area), it's worth the non-wait.

I’ve dined in and done take out from Junko for the last few years and I’ve never been disappointed. I come often enough that I feel like they recognize me by my face now. Love their lunch specials and specialty rolls. Best on the block!
Super consistent always, i like every roll I've tried. Speedy fast preparation as well. Astoria roll is my favorite.
The rolls are huge and they do not skimp on the meat. The price is also cheaper than surrounding areas. I can't remember the last time I ordered sushi and went "I'm full". Eat the rolls...become a rollie polie.
I absolutely love this place for sushi!! Everything is always so fresh and delicious and they have fun special rolls! Service is spectacular. This is my go-to spot in Astoria!
Love this place. Great sushi, quick and reasonably priced!
This is my go to for spicy tuna rolls! They make it with brown rice and very easy to digest 😀
Excellent food, and service, best Sushi spot in Astoria hands down.
Junko is my go-to sushi spot in Astoria. They do more carryout and delivery than dine-in since COVID, but they’re still as polite as ever if you want to sit and eat. Tasty sushi standards and always fresh!
Best sushi of many places I've been to..
Junko Sushi is me and my husband's go to for sushi! Everything is always fresh and tasty and delivery is always pretty quick!

Great sushi! Stopped in randomly and was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely eat here again.

Absolutely delicious food with outstanding quality! Fresh, flavorful, affordable, and priced just right. Once you try it, you’ll keep coming back. Highly recommended!
Welcome to the sushi spot that's your trusty sidekick for a quick sushi fix! Now, let’s be real—it’s not winning any awards for the best sushi in town, but it’s certainly not the bottom of the barrel either. **Atmosphere: it’s a no-frills vibe that’s more “grab-and-go” than “romantic date night.” If you’re looking to impress someone special, maybe steer clear. But if you're in the mood for a swift sushi escape or a cozy night in with delivery, this place has your back. The interior? It’s neither a dazzling paradise nor an eyesore—just a simple backdrop for your sushi adventure! **Food: Now, let’s dive into the food! The shrimp tempura was prepared well, but let’s just say it might be a little shy in the flavor department. It leans heavily on its spicy mayo buddy to steal the show. Usually, I’m all about their Sweet Potato rolls, but this time I ventured into the realm of the Junko Roll, along with some salmon cucumber and spicy tuna. Ah, simplicity reigns supreme at Junko, and they clearly nail their classic rolls every time! The spicy tuna and salmon cucumber were fresh and delightful—but the Junko Roll? It’s like a flavor-packed puzzle. With its many layers of fish, it’s intriguing, but after a few bites, I found myself saying, “Whoa, slow down, I can’t keep up!” So, if you’re feeling adventurous, give it a whirl—but trust your palate! **Service: Now, let’s talk about service. There’s just one waiter running the show, and bless her heart, she’s juggling everything like a circus performer! We tipped her extra for her superhero efforts. Sure, there were moments when we had to channel our inner yogis and practice patience while waiting, but she was as nice as could be. Here’s hoping they can recruit a sidekick or two for her; she deserves a break! **Overall: In the grand sushi scheme of things, I’d give this place a solid 4/5 stars. It’s not the crown jewel of sushi spots, but it certainly serves up a satisfying roll or two in Astoria. So, if dining in isn’t your jam, don’t fret—the food is still delicious enough for a takeout treat! So, get ready to roll in and indulge in some tasty creations! 🍣
Sushi was really good, so was the seaweed salad. Thai tea was 4/5, tasted a tiny bit weird. Menu online is outdated No AC 😫

My wife and I love sushi and come here nearly weekly. At this point we walk in, sit down and get our "usual." Staff is friendly and the food is good. When it comes to Sushi there is gas station sushi and then there is omakase-only-super-fresh-super-pricy-sushi. Junko isn't the latter and definitely not the first. It's solid, fresh, good tasting sushi with plenty of choice and variation. The price to quality ratio is really good. Sure you can get a similar experience for the same price and a better experience for quite a bit more: it doesn't take away from the consistently good food that they serve.

I’ve only ever gotten take out from this place since it’s right by me. I like that they have so much variety but balk at the idea of paying $17 for a roll. Most taste the same to me. So I get the $7 rolls. When I come in I usually get rushed to order, which doesn’t feel good. Also sucks to pay extra for using a credit card, as opposed to cash. There’s never anyone in the store when I’ve gone to get food and I’ve made a visit 5-ish times over the past year. It seems like the restaurant is struggling to survive to adding on fees where they can.
Service was excellent, but the sushi??? The spider roll was in fact the worst I have ever had, and the spicy tuna roll, the salmon and yellowtail…pretty tasteless

Charged me extra $1 for requesting egg in fried rice that came with egg. I got no extra egg for a $1 they just found a way to charge more. The sushi is terrible hand Shrimp Tempura Roll. They lost a customer with awful service and gave no napkins nor utensils. (Delivery order)
