Good food, fast friendly service and great prices. Definitely a must try.
I've been coming here off and on since I was a kid and let me tell you it hasn't changed much. It always has amazing service and great food!
A huge shout out to whoever paid for our meal this morning 😊😊 Brooks Ranch is always a great place to eat!! The food is always good and the service is great!!
Love the older fashioned style and the very welcoming feel. They have great food. I love the breakfast options thats what I usually go for but I had the meatloaf and it was great!!
Food is delicious, lots of choices and the prices are reasonable. It's definitely going to be one of our favorite places to eat 😋
Food & service was great. Biscuits were buttery & soft under gravy. Waitresses were friendly & attentive. Will return
Great food. Friendly staff. Small town feeling with great food. Recommended.
Food was great and so was the service. Highly recommend it.
The service is great and the food is awesome. It's a great dinner for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The daily specials have a bunch of variety; if you miss out on one, it'll be a while for it to come around again. Great salad bar.
Great place to cure your hunger. Good food, fantastic service and a very friendly staff. Dine in or order to go, never a problem in all the years I've been coming here
Great customer service and the food is good and fairly priced. You get a good portion of food for the price.
This place hasgood food.my favorite 2 this is the french dip sandwich and frys, served with acup of broth to dip your sandwich in.
Food waa great coffee needs to be more hot even refill were not hot enough. Had to get a pepsi instead. Overall its a good place to eat staff its great.....
Great family restaurant. Very friendly staff. Attentive without being overbearing. Priced right too. Portion sizes are great for the price.
It's a wonderful place to take your family to, they've got great service and a pleasant atmosphere.
Very friendly and fast service, their strawberry pancakes are so delicious and the portions are a perfect size. Nice place to take the family.
My first visit for me and my family. The food was delicious and the service was very pleasant. We will be going back.
Great tasty food and great prices as well. Very friendly waitress. I will go back again!!
I shared a very interesting meal I have pancakes and a California omelette what's guacamole on it and Country fries he's had a wonderful time at Brooks Ranch it's like going home I gave it five stars it's because of the fact that of the courtesy and the quality of the food and the portions
Best place to be when you want a good cooked meal. I visit at least twice a week and never had a bad visit. Love this place.
The service was great, as was the food. We had french toast, with scrambled eggs and bacon. Very yummy!
Me and my friend just ate there and the food was awesome. My family and I have eaten there for over 30 years always great.
The salad bar was fresh. With an excellent variety of veggies, salads, fruut, etc. I had BlackBerry Pie ala Mode for dessert. DELICIOUS! Our server was EXTREMELY Awesome!! Thank You Danielle
Great food. Friendly staff. Food is amazing. Highly recommended.
The service great and the food outstanding. Had the senior pancake egg ham and hash browns for a Senior portion had food to bring home. Yesh👍🙋♀️🐇🐇
Food is consistently good. Great staff and and decent prices.
Great food and great service. My family comes here often and were love the family atmosphere.
The staff is awesome, they are welcoming from the moment we walk in until we leave and the food is amazing!!! Absolutely love this place 💜
Always good food and friendly service have been going here for 30years. The owner is great and if there will come by and say hi and check on how things are going. If you like hamburgers and are hungry get the Biggie.. You won't leave hungry.
The waitress was very serving and attentive. Great calm and content attitude. The food was great, flavorful and tasty. My husb and I will being our family to this place. And the prices are easy on the pocketbook.
Friday they had ribs and 3 fried shrimps special. The fried shrimp was good. Normally I don't like to order fried shrimp at restaurants as most of the time it is more batter than shrimp. Except in this case it was the perfect amount of batter for the shrimp. I was very happy with the pork ribs. I have been wanting to eat ribs on my birthday and the place we went was a big disappointment for me. That was a few months ago. The ribs I had at Brooks Ranch made up for it. The sauce was not to sweet and was not dripping with sauce. It was just enough to enhance the ribs and not overpower them. The baked potato with sour cream and chives was good but thought the potato could of been baked just a tad longer. The green beans had a nice flavor. My only complaint that I would of liked a little larger portions. (Not that needed a larger portion. ) They also had great service.
Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Great food and service for the price. I believe i had the grandpa's platter. Large slab of ham, three eggs, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Could not eat it all.
I ordered an omelette and substituted the briskets for pancakes and the hashbrowns for country potatoes. It was all very good. The server was attentive and helpful. She checked on us regularly. Food was hot and fresh. Only drawback as I could see was my new experience with mushrooms.
Best Chicken Noodle Soup ever! Cozy place. Delicious food. Fair pricing. Salad bar is great. Friendly and curious staff. Nice sized portions as well. Not the biggest place around, but definitely a nice place to stop and eat.
Great food and service
I can't believe I have never tried Brooks Ranch until now. I figured it was to expensive, and had the same old boring food. My first time was about 2 weeks ago and I've been back twice since lol. The Ribs are out of this world tender juicy and the BBQ sauce is perfectly sweet. The Texas buger...OMG I could only eat half. I really liked that you have choices for sides that included potatoe salad not just fries. The employees are so sweet, patient and honestly helpful with suggestions, they even remembered us and what we ordered from previous visit. The prices are crazy cheap which at first had me thinking " the foods no good" not only is the food delicious, it has that home cooked flavor that I have been searching for. Thank you Brooks Ranch, now I see why you've been in business for so long
I go to Brooks ranch once a week with men from my church for a breakfast. The food is consistently the same The service is decent. Maybe not for a first date but it'll suffice otherwise
Great place to eat, even though we had 6 people at lunch our service was very good
Brandi was my server in Atwater that took my order to go. She is always very pleasant and efficient in making sure my order is complete. I would like to Thank her for making my experience a pleasant one.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Atwater! It's like a home cooked meal away from home. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. It's always clean never have to worry about a dirty table or seat. Kids eat for only $1 on mon and Tue with the purchase of a adult meal, my family loves this feature and takes advantage of using it. They did recently update the menus which gives it a better look. I highly recommend you try this place out of you are looking for a new restaurant to eat at. They have the best homemade flan, only thing is sometimes you have to call and request it be made few days prior. But it's very much worth it. This is a family owned business and they take pride in how it's operated you can tell.
This was our first time here! The inside is super lovely. It's your typical family diner. Theres a salad bar that has really good potato salad!! I ordered the prime rib dinner for $12.99 and was pleasantly surprised! Our friend ordered a burger and it was really large! The patty alone had to have been like 2 inches thick. There an old school counter there with swivel chairs. The flooring is like from the 70s but still looks really good! The entire restaurant is super clean and the waitress was really friendly! I guess if I had to compare just so people can understand, it's like a much better family orientated older version of Denny's. But better!!! I think this restaurant will be our new family favorite!! I highly recommend this little gem in tiny Atwater!
Great food and fantastic value. Very affordable
We have always had exceptional service. The food is first rate. The only problem is if we go in early it's a little chilly.
The food is always wonderful. The service is great! It is the kind of small town restaurant where the people get to know you and strive to make you feel like you are part of one big family.
The food is very fresh and this is like going back into time to eat. There you go, that was a quick signal. Good old-fashioned, comfort food.
I have breakfast there once a week with some other gentlemen. The service is great and the food is very good as well.
The food is always great here. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. My only “complaint” is the decor. It’s been the same for as long as I can remember. Kind of a gloomy restaurant as far as looks, fortunately the food is amazing. And for that reason we will keep coming back!
Love this place. Everything made from scratch. The food is delicious and the people that work here are very friendly and welcoming. I do miss the salad bar though, hope they bring it back! Worth my drive from Stockton😊
Great service, fresh food, very reasonable prices. I had the salad bar and everything was wonderful - especially the potato salad! Husband had the meatloaf. He said it wasn't overly spicy so he doesn't expect to be "burping." He said it was one of best meatloaves ever.
Good food and great service as if going to grandma's house but with more pie if you want it lol. Try the Tri-Tip yummy stuff
Brooks Ranch is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots around! 🍳 The food comes out hot, hearty, and absolutely delicious every time. I especially have to shout out the Country Ranch Skillet — it’s the kind of breakfast that makes you want to clear your schedule just so you can sit there and savor every bite. The potatoes were perfectly cooked with that crispy-outside, soft-inside magic, and the country gravy was rich, creamy, and downright addictive. It’s classic comfort food done right. If you’re a breakfast person (or even if you’re not), Brooks Ranch is 100% worth the stop. 👏🥔🍴
The food is delicious and the meals are reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great place to go for the senior menu. They have good choices at reasonable prices. For the senior meals you get a soup or salad included with the meal, instead of ordering your salad separate. It's very popular for the seniors that live in the area that go there for the prices and the food. For those that's been there in the past that moved away it's a good place to stop on your way back through. The waitresses are always friendly and very patient for those who have a hard time making up their minds. I've been going there for many years. even though I moved further away from Atwater long ago, my friends and I drive over from Merced and went in quite often for lunch for dinner. The cooks have changed off and on over the years however the food has remained very good. Give it a try you'll love it
It's a nice place . My mom loves it here so we eat here every time she comes to visit . Foods always good and theirs usually some bomb special to take advantage of . Even if you don't the prices are very fair especially for now a days and the staff always takes good care of us . My mom can be picky even a Karen but they still treat us awesome.
I ordered chilaquiles and honestly they were delicious! We sat at the bar and our service was fast. I got more country potatoes than chilaquiles so I would like the chilaquiles to be the main dish, not the side.
Quote from my son, “these individuals have curated a fantastic dining experience”. The food was top quality, and in generous amounts. This is our new favorite hamburger/dining spot south of Sacramento. The ambiance and music is very 80’s and I appreciate it! But don’t let that scare you. It is so clean and well kept.
Very very happy with our food. Me and my Husband ordered skillets with a side of biscuits and gravy & a kids French toast for our son . It was my first time ever eating here and I was super impressed! Prices were very adorable and the amount of food they give you I couldn’t even finish it all. The food was very good & nothing tasted frozen or boxed . Will definitely go back and try other items .
Excellent service . The waitress was very friendly very attentive. I had the papa's big prime rib and it was delicious I advise, if you haven't tried this place, that you do so ,you won't regret it. Has a nice atmosphere very quiet and it was nice and cool in there. Excellent food which was served very fast. There's not enough stars for this place.
I went to the first time and I loved it! The portions were perfect and they offer a 25% student discount on Fridays and Saturdays, so our meals came out to about $7 each. The servers were friendly and attentive and the hanging plants gave the whole restaurant a trendy vibe. I will definitely be returning!
Great staff. Good food by dinner standards, but still a dinner. Not a gourmet restaurant. Looking forward to trying breakfast.
Food very good. Had a New York steak very tasty! Christie our server was the best! One suggestion: the salad a little blah. Maybe some red onions and a few beets would help.
Service is slow, about 20-30 min wait time. The food is spectacular. Real good place to just hang out with friends and family and have a great breakfast.
Food is good, service is okay, the only bad thing so far is that they need NEW Cups, they look old and with water stains. They have a deal that kids eat for $1 monday n tuesday one kid per adult, n their breakfast deal are good n look delicious.
Food was good the service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being overbearing 👌
We love Briiks Ranch!!! The service there is always amazing! We got sat in the back room since we jabe a large family. I ordered the French Dip, which was DELICIOUS! The dipping gravy is the best! My ONLY criticism is the building could use a little reno....it's very dated and pretty much looks the same as it did when I used to come on Sunday mornings for breakfast with my grandparents after church...back in the 90's...but again, the food is delicious and the staff always amazing!!!
I love their friendly customer service, their waitress' are always smiling and helpful with the menu items bc I am a very picky person so they are very helpful. I love their country style potatos bc they taste delicious but my fav part is theres no onions or anything else its just potatos & there ranch is delicious too.
Food is very good the atmosphere is awesome service was a little slow but that's okay
We are new in town and stopped in for a late lunch. The place is homey American food with a hint of Mexican, keeping with demographics. Service was too notch, the two young ladies working the floor were on top of everything. Food was great. I am declaring this "our place" in town.
Even though under new mgmt? or ownership? breakfast here is still very good in my opinion. It is very popular because it has good food, is reasonable, and can usually accommodate small family groups.
Had a wonderful time. I ordered the prime rib and my wife the mushroom burger. Food was delicious no issues with service. Was a bit cold inside due to the ceiling fans being on but they turned on the heater to combat it.
Food is consistent. There is nothing miraculous about this place other than they regularly provide quality home cooking for breakfast lunch and dinner. Gravy! The salad bar is great and has a wide selection. Also staff have always proved to be friendly and patient. Prices are also very reasonable.
Good food at reasonable prices. Would definitely return. Staff was excellent and accommodating for a large group (15). Check on us frequently.
We'll be back.. Great steak and eggs.Breakfast were going to come back and try the prime rib.
Some items had a taste and some of the items like egg and pancake didn't have a Great taste but it wasn't bad.
No more fried chicken or salad bar. Nice staff, good food. Best pancakes in town
Service was very good staff friendly and attentive. Food was presented in a timely manner. My friend had a hamburger which looked delicious. I ordered heuvos rancheros which were a big disappointment, I would not recommend this dish. The beans tasted tinning, the sauce was a heavy mole sauce which in my taste inappropriate for such a dish. I guess I should have not ordered a Mexican meal at a coffee shop.
Environment not for African Americans. Food is good. If you're willing to sit through a unfriendly environment.
NEW OWNERS! Some instances that phrase could bring feelings of dread. This case is not that way. Amazing staff with great attitudes. Good portions for the price, clean and welcoming. Service was awesome and accurate. Food was amazing, hot and perfect. I tried the Monterey Omelette. I would never have thought to pair these ingredients, but WOW. It was fantastic! Kudos to the chef. I usually have some left overs but not this time. If you haven't visited Brooks Ranch in Atwater, CA, it's definitely a trip your missing out on.
Food was just okay but servings were big!
I came here for breakfast and ordered the Western Omelette which was absolutely delicious!! It comes with your choice of hash browns or country potatoes. I chose country potatoes. I also had a biscuit with gravy. I also ordered a large orange juice with black coffee. The service here is amazing! My coffee was kept full and everyone here is really nice. I only gave three stars because my potatoes were extremely over cooked to a crispy crunch. Most of the bites I took had a crunchy texture. There were a few potatoes that were ok and not crunchy. The biscuit and gravy did not pass my breakfast test. There wasn’t much flavor with the biscuit and gravy. There was a texture issue with that biscuit.
This place is like a family owned Denny's. The food was okay. I got the steak skillet breakfast with biscuits & gravy. The biscuits & gravy was extremely plain. The country potatoes in my steak skillet was hard and old tasting like it's been sitting all morning. This wasn't the best 1st time visit experience I had at this restaurant.
Had dinner there with a party of five on Feb 20th, one person ordered the ribeye dinner, it was inedible, it was less than rare, it was raw, and texture was mushy and smothered with garlic, possibly to cover up the offtaste. Sent it back and reordered the rib dinner, they were hard and stringy. I and friend ordered the liver dinner, paper thin and tasteless, the salad and potatoes were good though.
We are new to atwater and this was the first place we tried. The food was not good at all. Not only was my food cold but the flavor was off like it was sitting in the fridge/freezer too long. I had to flag the waitress down twice for more coffee and she looked annoyed that I even needed anything. The food was overpriced considering the quality was so bad. We will never eat there again.
Prime rib on Friday night. The worst I have ever had. So disappointed. Waited for a couple of months to try it out. Really bad It was unlike any prime rib I have ever seen. Or eaten. And I have worked in a commercial kitchen in food service. Get it together you guys.
Overpriced! Over $10 for a waffle, and over $4 for a cup of coffee. 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon? $14. 1 cup of hot tea? $4 It's literally hot water and a tea bag! Food was okay but NOT anything worth talking about. Used to be my group's annual holiday breakfast restaurant. Not after today.
I had breakfast and the bread was so nasty and The hash brown wasn’t what I thought it was gonna be The eggs and the ham was the only thing that was good
They were closed but gave no indication to that online or on the door. Update one month later: I have gotten a carry out steak sandwich with baked potato for years from them and asked that it was tender because the person eating bit it has no teeth and they have always done a good job but this time it was shoe leather, even I couldn't eat it! I called them but since I came home with it without checking it they won't do anything now!!
Our food was premade, but not hot when we received it. It took over an hour just to get soup. No time for the salad, we only have an our for lunch. Wont be going there anytime soon. So sad, it used to be so good and quick.
The food is ok I guess? I found a couple of the servers rude and did not feel comfortable or welcome to eat there. Jovani, I believe was extremely rude about my order being incorrect and no one ever returned to the table at which time I left without eating. This was a horrible experience which I will not refer my enemy. God bless them and may they treat ALL customers with courtesy because they certainly we're rude and disrespectful to me. Jovani needs more home training in respect for others.
Food was terrible and overpriced. Potatoes were not cooked through. Gravy was bland. Everything tasted like it was prepackaged frozen food that was just heated up. Breakfast came out to $42 for two adults.
Went here for the first time. It was very empty and outdated. Staff were very quiet and looked at each other as if they were surprised to have customers. They were not sociable at all. I had a very weird vibe as well as 2 other people I was with. We ended up leaving and not ordering anything.
This is sooooo overpriced and the quality of the food is bad. Makes Denny’s look like a 4 star restaurant
