Lunch buffet food is actually pretty good, been there a couple times and haven't got food poisoning. Good pricing compared to everything else in this lovely economy.

The food was surprisingly tasty! The wonton soup has a lot of flavor in it, ice cream was everyone’s favorite, the chow mein, the mushrooms, the pizza, the beef, the green beans, etc were all so favorful! Kudos to the chef!

The restraunt was amazing the food was so good I really liked the the chicken was cooked so perfect the service there was amazing they where so nice and caring the atmosphere was amazing I liked the decorations and the feel.

This place has changed over the years for the better! The staff is super friendly. Ericka is alway has a smile! The place is clean and comfortable. The food is really good! Considering it is a buffet and the food is mass produced, it has a good flavor and everything is cooked thoroughly. My favorite is the broccoli chicken and spring rolls. The price is reasonable for the amount of food and selection available. I would definitely recommend trying next time your near by!

Been going here for years and the food is always delicious. I understand hygiene of the place should be a factor, I'm sure the owners know that the customers know the place could need some repainting, like in the bathroom and some detail cleaning on the floor. But I do like that there is always someone making sure the food area kept clean. My only complaint is I wished the waiters kept an eye on the tables for refills of the drinks. Place is great but sometimes it feels weird having to ask for a refill because the customer service is below the friendly bar. Overall the food is terrific. Latinos are LOVE Chinese food and I appreciate that they put Mexican dishes like Menudo. That's one of the reasons why I like going there. There was female waiter recently who was very friendly and it was refreshing feeling like you weren't just someone coming in to eat. It's because of her service that I finally decided to leave a review.

Today Jan 31 I came here at 2pm. It was dead Lots of food to choose frol..the only issue was alot of the meats were tough like jerky.. I think it was because of overlooking. The potstickers were fried too long and hardened . Again overcooked . They brought me a birthday cake which I loved 😍 I attached a video of my dining experience. I'll give you 5 stars but go easy on the food when it's not busy.

They are open!!! Buffets are finallly back. Even though theres a few minor issues I am still giving this a 5 star review. Youve completely satisfied my 1 year longing of buffet. All flavors you expect on a good buffet is here. Some meat becomes dry due to food staying longer under the heat lamps due to low volume of customers coming in... but other than that every thing is great. Paid around $15ish + $ drinks and tax. Theres a 1.50 extra for ice cream.

For the price, very high value. We spend about $25 for all-you-can-eat sushi, hibachi grill, and other Asian dishes for two people. Just the sushi alone makes it worth it. I would give it a 5/5, but a few things rub me the wrong way about this place. First, they have some sort of random nick-knack store connected to it. They sell things like incense (which makes the restaurant smell), hookahs, t-shirts, etc. They sell those framed celebrity and cartoon pictures you would normally see as a prize at a carnival, and they lined the restaurant with them. Also, the building is in severe need of a redecoration. Old, dingy wallpaper, faded pictures, 70's color-scheme. Luckily, it doesn't take away from the food. And like I said at the beginning, for the price, I can look past it.

The best ever food. So fresh!!! And they have a chocolate fountain... Mmmm... A star knocked off for service...we had to keep asking for drinks and straws. They really don't come over and ask how everything is going which is sort of undesired in the service industry...but overall pretty good.p

My father absolutely loved buffet restaurants because of variety. He loved being able to cherry-pick his dinner. Merced Grand Buffet was his favorite, but not necessary my mothers. If they were going to Merced, he wanted to stop at Merced Grand Buffet for dinner. After a hundred times of dinner at Merced Grand Buffet mom started asking if they could try another restaurant. Guess you can’t please everyone.

If you like Chinese & Sushi buffets, this one's pretty good! Lots of tasty choices for food; even won ton soup and dim sum! Also a dessert station with ice cream and a chocolate fountain. A decent place to get a lunch or dinner!

I was blown away by the food and value at this restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. There were 3 steam tables of food options, very strong on seafood, plus a cold/salad bar, sushi bar, hibachi grill and ice cream/dessert station. Adult dinner only $11.50 at 5:30 p.m. My favorites were cream cheese wontons, spicy beef, salmon, pepper calamari and garlic shrimp. All 3 types of sushi I tried were fresh and excellent. The ONLY reason this place did not get 5+ stars from me was a too much oil used in many of the dishes, but the flavors were great. This is a must for any of my future trips to Merced.

As a rule I skip buffets. They remind me the chow line I had to stand in many years ago when I was in the service. But I decided to get some take out from here. In general, the food and service (I helped myself) were good. The young lady that greeted me was very nice. I would not recommend it for take-out. While my poached fish and rice vermicelli were really good, the pork shumai was under done. They had a few different shrimp offerings. But the shrimp had not been cleaned and deveined. And I couldn't go back and get something else. Overall, clean, friendly staff, good variety and good value for money.

Some of the food wasn't the greatest but less than 20 per person for an all you can eat is good. Also the staff were great 😃.

In my opinion this is the best Chinese food in Merced. It's Saucy and flavorful. The rice is light and fluffy. The noodles are perfect. They don't stick together like they do at other places. It's absolutely beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Had been many months since we had any Chinese food that good!

This place is probably the best buffet my wife and I been to in a long time. They tend to keep the food as fresh as they can and their selection is not bad at all. The environment tends to be pretty calm yet maybe not as quiet as some people would like. However, prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of food and selection available. The only reason I give 4 starts instead of 5 is because getting refills can be a challenge at times. Despite having employees walk by every so often with your empty cup at the end of the table, half of the time they don't stop to see if you need a refill. In this case all you need to do is ask them as they walk by and they will be more than happy to assist you. Aside from this I would recommend this place for anyone who isn't quite sure what to eat or might want a menu ready to eat to pick from.

I have enjoyed this location for over 10 years. Consistently K-State and authentic Asian selections. It's almost impossible to leave without going into a food coma.

It has many items for buffet. But it didn’t have proper labeling for all food items. So we had to ask about the item name, as we have some food restrictions. They should introduce halal meats (and mentioning on the glads that which are halal) and more vegetarian options to reach diverse community.

The food was good and there was a variety but it is supposed to be an all-you-can-eat buffet in the middle of me and my family eating they came and brought us the check without me asking it kind of made me feel like they were asking us to leave because of that I will not be returning to this restaurant 😒

I give it a 4 star for the food but if I can give a negative I would for the cleanliness of the buffet because that place is sooooo dirty and nasty. The baby booster site is so nasty and sticky the chairs for sticky and the walls and pictures are sooo dusty and nasty, with the money they get from us they should do some remodeling.

I like that they changed up the staff because they’re a lot better than the staff before. Also found out that the staff don’t get their tips. It’s all given to the owners. Be sure and hand the tips directly to you servers. Thank you staff for your service. Owners step it up.

Alright. Crazy restaurant. But I love how they have a bong shop connected to it and call it a "gift shop" LMAO. Also this is the only place that I know that will put you on blast if you do a dine and dash. They will hang your picture up in the restaurant. All restaurants should do this. Funny stuff!

To be honest, this was a favorite for me. The restaurant had a great selection on the buffet tables. You could pick and choose what you fancied, at reasonable price. However, due to the covid restrictions, the means of getting your meal has obviously changed. You now wait in a line after you inter the door and you basically step forward as they help the customers before you. I expected something to this effect. Unfortunately when you reach the point to where it is your turn to pick and choose your items ( in my experience) you feel rushed . They pile the items that you choose so that to make the plates heavy, being that they charge by the pound. The directions to how the line moves is unclear. My advice is know what you want before you get into the line . And be prepared to order quickly and be prepared to pay $$. I believe this will benefit the restaurant, which maybe is their only way to survive??? Just unexpected for me . Hope this prepares you if you visit the restaurant. 😊

The food is pretty good. The secret is to get there early, before people bring their rugrats in. The management allows kids to run wild there and do nothing about them serving themselves or make any attempt to stop them from putting their grubby little hands in the food. I witnessed one kid climb up on the counter and eat ice cream out of the tub with a spoon. Then put the spoon back when he was finished. Money is more important to them than sanitation.

Had not been there in quite a while. Variety of food was delicious and very clean presentation. Had a variety of foods for meat lovers and vegetarians; price very reasonable. However, tables and everything touched i.e., chairs, salt/pepper shakers was sticky. Other than that it was a pleasant experience.

The staff was nice and the restaurant was very presentable. The selection was good too but it was one of the lowest quality tasting chinese buffett's I've ever had. The chicken was gummy and other items didn't taste the way they should. My wife lost her appetite immediately upon entering the restroom due to its level of cleanliness. She says that it was extremely grimey, dirty and wet everywhere and looked like it had just been forgotten about. Even the water tasted foul. So much so that the ice ruined my beverage when it melted. I feel very bad to write such negative things about a place that looked like they were trying but I have to be honest and these things could and should be made better.

The food selection is limited. No sea food section. They sell food by the pound only due to covid so you can't call it buffet as they will fill your food tray themselves. No refills and the price of 18$ with drink per person is too high for the selection of food and definitely not worth the money for now. So for those who eat a lot or prefer seafood, they might want to wait until they open completely.

Unfortunately not very good. My husband enjoys going here but even he didn't really enjoy it this time. The hibachi grill was closed (understandable), but then all the food in the buffet was either overcooked or had been out a while. My husband still went through a couple plates, but no one picked up. We had to go to the cashier to get a drink refill too. All this after being seated at a dirty booth and wiping it down ourselves:(

This was the only buffet still open that we were able to find in Merced after driving out of Yosemite National Park via the 140. We read the mixed reviews that came from 4-8 years ago so we came with fingers crossed. We came as a party of 17 and we were able to call ahead and request a table. They were not busy when we were there on a Sunday night around 7pm. Our party also had mixed views on the food but everyone agreed that it was nice to have at least a few options to see what they could possibly like. I think most of the food tastes pretty much like other Chinese buffets. But there isn't as many choices as other buffets we're used to. Foods I Liked or Found Okay -Menudo - It reminded us of a Filipino dish called "balbacua". -Orange Chicken -Coconut Shrimp -Fried Fish with Tartar Sauce -Fried Shrimp -Salt & Pepper Fried Squid -Baby Octopus Dish -Chicken Broccoli -Green Beans -Fried Rice -Chow Mein -Salt and Pepper Crabs and Shrimp -Hot & Sour Soup -Wonton Soup We didn't come across any hygiene issues during our visit.

The place was pretty friendly food was great other than that gift shop you have connected. I went in to buy something and the lady got mad beavuse i dropped something on accident. I had money and was gonna buy something but she was rude so i left i didnt wanr rate so low but the lady next door ruined my trip.

This place is a huge disappointment. First place is so old tired and very Dirty. People or servers are in a rush. Not very likeable. Now as much as I love Chinese food. This food was very disappointing. Bland warm tasteless food. This is a place that definitely will not be back to. And drinks were watery tasting.

The covid-19 restrictions really made this a pass for me! If I'm going to a buffet I would like to make my own plate! I used to love going there, now it's a long wait at the door then someone else makes your plate, it's not the same! Just let them go back to the restaurant we all knew and loved! Update: went there today the buffet is back and better. I found it cleaner than pre pandemic and the prise for 2 was $32.00 . I love the fact that it's back to normal get our own food! I wish they'd bring back the pudding and fortune cookies! I give them a thumbs up and will refer friends and family!

It’s been awhile since we been back to this buffet. Floor cleaniness is okay. They lack variety of the other foods. There were flies around their foods. The counter area by the chocolate fountain was messy. We went for the crawfish but it was super salty and the foods does not taste the same like pre- covid. Waitress was kind and cashier was friendly. I did saw the worker were wiping down handle to the soup lid. Overall, was okay but I’m not sure if I would return.

Good things are a few about this place being that it is a quiet place to dine. The menu lacks a bit of effort some meals don't look too fresh or it might of been that the fried (coconut) shrimp was old with no sauce. Veggie look to be a couple days passed and wasn't a big fan of the black spots on the broccoli stump. Not here to say the place is a horrible spot but I am sure they are doing what they can to stick around and serve the people their big menu. Service is great they are on top of your soda refills, and take your plates in a short time of it being done with. Pdont take this as a negative post we all can improve in some areas and hope they can too. Thank you.

The food was average. The place is so dirty that it was scary eating the food truthfully. The walls, floors, windows and window coverings covered in nasty old food and who knows what else. The bathroom was unbelievable and hasnt had a good wash in forever. I wanted to like this place however never again spending 75.00 dollars ( 2 adults, 3 children) for this dining experience

It is not worth the price for the variety of food they offer. Some of the food was cold & didn't really have much, it's a small buffet. They don't have much of a variety or fruits or deserts. I wouldn't go there again, didn't like the food. I do not recommend it, rather go to panda express. Quick note, it was a Monday also.

This place was horrible the only thing good about it was the young lady that sat us at our table. The lady in the gift shop yelled at my two daughter to get out and go eat. For one it isn't here place to tell kids anything and she was rude when I went to confront her. If you can't handle customers you shouldn't own a shop. Horrible customer service I'll be sure to tell my friends and family not to come here..

I don't get how they're still opened. They used to be good back when they first opened but damn they cross contaminate everything. Their Mongolian grill the meats are thawed out next to a heated grill and the meats drip blood ontop of one another when you pick it up. The chef has no care about the contamination and cooks your cooked meal while touching another meal with raw chicken. The sea food is either under cooked or it's sat there so long it's dried. I'm not one to be picky but when my health is on the line I won't eat it.

My husband went out to check on our dog during the meal. And they flipped out. They must have thought he was going to leave without paying but I was still eating. They actually had the nerve to ask me if I had any money and where did my husband go, etc. while i was still eating and all loud in front of the other people dining. It was so embarrassing. I went into their little gift shop to confront them after we were done, away from the other customers and she wouldnt even allow me to talk. She kept getting louder until i just walked away stating loudly that i have came there for almost 20 years and that I WOULD NEVER EVER RETURN THERE AGAIN NOR SHOP IN THE GIFT SHOP.

Service is horrible, always long waits for drinks to get to your table, they take forever to give you a refill you have to flag or yell them down, and they don’t speak English very well so they look at you as if you’re stupid. Service needs improvement. Other than that food is delicious no complaints there

I am just going to say that if any other business would have been as dirty and not up to date as this place it would have gotten shut down immediately. I seen a Roche walking in the sectioning are between the tables. To top this my kids and myself got food poisoning. I use to enjoy this when I was a kid. I'm not sure what happen now.

My first and last time. Rather small buffet, food was average, no egg-drop soup and green beans were cold. Staff was annoying, constantly coming to my table standing over me asking for my empty plate. Seriously, the guy stood at my table 3 times in the 45 minutes I was there. They literally force you to leave by harassing you, continually asking," are you finished yet." I won't go back.

I'm sorry, I used to like this place, I cannot and will not eat here again. There were a few positives... the baby changing station was clean however the rest of the bathroom looked worse than a nasty truck stop. The food stations were continuously monitored and food checked on, however the food was gross, wilty, been there to long, either over or undercooked. The sushi was decent, the rice was ok. But the stuffed crab things tasted rancid. Had to spit it out the moment it hit the mouth. Lots of cross contamination issues goin on here. Super disappointed. Really wanted to like this place.The staff was nice, quick and friendly. But the cleanliness was horrendous. The carpet was horrible, very black, sticky, gross...needs cleaning or gone seriously! Mold on the walls, especially by windows, very bad. Many ceiling tiles need replacing, broken or water damaged that has been allowed to sit there. The HIGHCHAIR was so gross and sticky I cringed putting a cover on it (and this was a clean one) knowing I would have to take it off and touch that so I could take it home and wash it. Sauce splatters randomly on walls around the inside of the place... yes they have obviously been there for some time. The seats, they were so dirty you could scrape off a thin layer of yuck by barely scraping anything across it. I accidentally did this with something on my diaper bag that is now in the wash. You could see the difference in the seats in the tone of the color... light color was where it was obviously not touched by anyone cause it was at the very top of the bench seat... dark was where everyone has sat and no one has properly washed them. Torn seats, the list goes on... I honestly cannot see how health inspections are passed or how there is any award on the wall worth mentioning. I would love to come back but I cant, never again. Over $50 for our family and was not by any means worth it, I'm sorry but no. Some serious changes need to be made at this place for the health and safety of others.

I usually don’t leave reviews but i felt that i would like others to know what our experience was now with covid restrictions, instead of serving yourself you go in line and wait your turn and they serve you what you want. I haven’t been here in a long time so i was unsure what to get, I felt very rushed the man serving was in an urgent hurry to serve people fast(there was only 1 fam behind us) he even got frustrated with his coworker and took the plate out of his hands to serve faster. Anyways i picked whatever cause i felt pressured. My husband and I got 2 plates total and 1 pepsi drink. There was not various options like there used to. I had went for the fried shrimp but there wasn't any. So when we went to pay the total was $38. Honestly i was shocked that it was that expensive each plate had to be $18. We were not happy with the quality of the food either. I feel bad for posting this but i feel that its important to know before you head out there.

Went today because my son has been asking us to go. We were seated at a booth and it was filthy. Not only was the table not clean, the windows were filthy and the corner of the walls were full of spider webs. The window treatments had dried food and splatters on them and it was just pretty gross. Then we go get our plates and I notice the pile of "clean" plates had food on them. Not a dried speck but stuck on whole pieces of rice. I told the lady and it looked like she got upset about me pointing it out to her. Horrible experience. We only ate fries. The drinks are overpriced. And my bill was $50!! Never again.

Came today with my family. 3/2/18. Food was cold, fruit was hard. Waiters are rude. When you want a refill they roll there eyes and walk away. Then after you complain they want to do something. Had better food before. We won't be back again.

Gave this place many chances over a year. Its gotten really bad. I'm surprised they pass health inspection. Rat feces all over the dining area, an over flowing smelly dumpster close to the entrance, a swarm of flies guarding the entrance and a couple roaches on the wall. Didn't get our drinks for over 20 minutes, had to ask for them two different times, AFTER she took our order, and they waited an additional 20 minutes after our cups were empty to ask if we wanted a refill. The food tasted weird, different than usual. They had maybe 4 other tables of 4 people each, besides the two of us. Ridiculous

I decided to give it another try after a couple of years. It wasn't very good. I've been there a few times. My son used to like it. I have never been there when the manager or whoever she is, isn't yelling at one of the staff. Seriously, every time. Right out in the dining area. I will not be going back.

Place was very dirty and the food didn't taste good (wasn't cooked properly or was sitting out way too long, couldn't put my finger on the taste). The carpet at the dining area was littered with bits of trash, food, and dirt and when we were seated it looked as if the table wasn't wiped down. Where the food was set out it looked a mess and where the sauces were there were even small plastic disposable cups for dipping inside the sauces themselves. Don't get me started on the dessert area. We won't be going back.

I give you a 5 star on the food.. but the appearance in the restaurant looks dirty.. with all the money you make remodel your bathroom. Because that shows a lot, how clean and sanitize the restaurant is, with the food handling, enforce it, mask and gloves. That's what your sign says walking in...

They started to charge children per age? And up thier prices by like almost 3x than before. It was a nice place to go to before, now im not going there again. Ill understand if it gets shut down soon.

This place is disgusting! Food has no flavor...sushi was nasty taste old, organs chicken was salty and dry. Panda Express is better. And they also screw you on the price, take out was supposed to be $4.98 and they charged us for as if we were going to stay and eat which was $8. Better off going to McDonald's. Service was terrible too.

If I could give this place zero stars I would I used to come here with my husband as a regular date night place the entire vibe here has changed and has been ruined the owner came and harassed my family in the parking lot because my husband is Mexican and the owner seems to judge people who are of different races than he is. The owner was aggressive and belligerent for no reason at all we came to spend money to feed our family and didn't even get past the past the parking lot. Then I come read reviews to see that it's probably good we didn't go in because they also serve cold food that has been out too long. This type of behavior is unacceptable and honestly very sad I would not come eat here if you want a good experience with acceptable food.

Most of the food was served cold, very cold. I spent $20 only to have my night ruined. On certain nights, they’ll actually put effort into serving hot food, but consistency clearly isn’t a priority. Unless it’s a busy weekend when they’re motivated to provide decent service, I wouldn’t recommend coming here, might run risk of even getting sick. disappointed.

Thought this was a nice place at first. Lots of options, but then the last visit, there was a cockroach running over the desserts, and a worker came out, grabbed it and went back into the back. I immediately got my money back and will never return.

I've been to a TON of buffett places and were mostly great. Came to town for work and craved buffett. Got there a little after 8pm, and there were only 3 of us customers in there. Place seems to be at its end with no maintenance and has hygene issues. Food was bad and old. Not to mention, the (left over) rock-hard sushi looked like they were there since last week. Place is dark, no ambiance music, just loud staffers talking. I went up for a desert plate, and the table service guy already wet-wiped my table and took my soda. Place closes at 9pm, but they were already mopping floors and taking food away at 830p. This is sadly the worst buffett I have ever been to and will never go back. Don't believe me? I'm not sure if I just have high expectations or high standards. I called ahead to see what time this place closed and what the last time they were allowing people in to dine in. I was told that they will allow people to come in up til 8:30 pm to dine in because they were closing at 9 pm. We showed up at 8 pm and 10 min in, and they started cleaning up and putting all the foods away without any notification. We had to rush over to grab whatever we could before everything was put away, and we were inside for no more than 10 min. This makes the dining experience more hectic because we have to rush to get food and try to enjoy what we have gotten in front of us. The kids also mentioned something dripping from the ceiling as well. For us, this will be the first and last time dining here. I didn't give any stars to the service because no one approached us to see if we needed anything else, i.e., water, napkins, or time to collect any other food items. Food was less than optimum. My guess would be that its been there for hours without being changed out because it seem like they had a slow day. Atmosphere was a little dim and smelled like damp carpet for food spill over time and not sure when they last clean up.

I honestly haven’t been to this place in a while and I don’t remember the food being as gross as it was. I used to love this place maybe like 8-9 years ago. Honestly don’t waste your time here during the week at least. The only reason I gave service a good review was due to the management being understanding of our situation. We only there for 14 minutes and you pay at the door before you eat. Over all I won’t come back here till I see better reviews.

Place was filthy. Our table was not clean, floor was full of crumbs. Plates were either still wet or had food residue. Overpriced. Food was not good at all. Never refilled the drinks we paid for. Horrible service.
