FlyRite Chicken Austin Reviews
My wife and I come here all the time and we love this place. Drinks are a great price, good vibes, amazing patio, and the bartenders are always friendly. The food truck here is also awesome.
Love this little dive bar!!! The space is very large with plenty of seating space and can easily accommodate large groups. The outside patio is also pretty chill. There’s a food truck on site with great pork sliders and fruit-infused liquors at the bar (my favorite is the fig-infused whiskey). The only downside is they typically only have one bartender on staff, which creates LONG wait times when the place is packed. But, all in all, great bar with good bartenders and billiards.
Nice place. Hello old Austin, meet new Austin! They really fixed up the Poodle Dog lounge! It still has the (sanitized) dive bar feel. Fun place to hang out. Don't go looking for drugs here anymore, it's new Austin legit. They've added some nice bar games darts and shuffleboard. Newer pool table. Place has been cleaned up. Nice outside seating. Nice staff as well. Cool place to take a friend.
Great weekend day drinking spot on Burnett Rd. Bartenders were awesome. Perfectly “divey “! Garth was great!
I'm freaking late getting onto the Aristocrat Lounge train but damn, super impressed. Not just an über cool dive but their list of frozen cocktails on tap and cocktails on tap is super impressive. How impressive? Let me tell you, went car window shopping one early afternoon at Roger Beasley Mazda Central and stopped by here after. Mind you, when we got here it was 1:30. Six hours, two rescheduled and eventually cancelled dinner reservations later, were were still here. Why? Their freaking frozen carajillos that's why. We've had carajillos before, hot and iced, but never frozen. These frozen ones sucked us right in and it was hard not to keep ordering them. They were like a godddam milkshake I tell you. Go check them out for that reason alone. Stupendous idea of theirs. While you're there, might as well try their other drinks on tap: palomas and old fashioneds.
Love this place. Great cocktails, made by intelligent, professional bartenders. It's funny to read reviews of The Aristocrat and people call it a dive.... obviously, y'all didn't live here when this was The Poodle Dog Lounge, complete with Mom, who really did have a baseball bat behind the bar to break up fights.
Despite what people are saying, the bar staff is exactly what you'd expect from an Austin dive bar. Drinks are priced well and quality, there's a live DJ once a month that spins some killer vinyl, the food truck is PHENOMENAL, there's free pool twice a week. Solid Austin dive 🤙🏻🤙🏻
bartenders were friendly and helpful. yeni fusion food truck food was awesome. atmosphere was just fine with the music
This is my bar. I still call it the Poodle Dog but it's improved greatly since it changed - without changing too much! Love the jukebox and their frozen drinks the best. Never too crowded. Fantastically unpretentious bartenders, given how they know their craft.
It’s your classic neighborhood bar with lots of regulars. Reasonable prices. Two outdoor areas, one in front and a sizable patio in back. Two pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and foosball. There’s also a stage for live music which double as an area to watch live sports or movies on a large pull down screen.
The blended drink the girl at the bar recommended was excellent and she was really sweet. The place is a cool little spot very cozy and the outside seating area out back is super cool. The restored trucks as seating benches was a really neat idea
Best dive bar in Austin! Make a terrific Moscow Mule. Have great, changing unique drink menus. Very chill.
Miguel was great! Awesome old school dive - the last of what makes Austin great. 10/10 for me.
Great bar staff, house infused liquors, 5-8 happy hour on weekdays. Shuffle board and 2 pool tables. Most importantly, doesn't get so busy you can't move. Outdoor area if the weather is right and a delicious food truck. What more could you want from a bar?!
Great place to eat and hangout, gives me small town vibez and has foosball, pool, and a juke box. If you go hear try the missionary statement!

This place has two pool tables, two dart boards, a shuffle board, an outdoor patio. The drinks are amazingly priced and delicious. Bar staff is friendly. They also have a digital jukebox (sometimes the music a random mix/iffy), but the overall vibes are great! Definitely a good spot for locals.
Never crowded, always friendly (in my experience, YMMV considering other reviews), great HH specials, and fun house cocktails. Easy to find a booth outside of their peak hour, and there's almost always space on the enclosed patio. Haven't tried the food trucks on property, but they're there if you need them. Lots of brick-and-mortar food options nearby as well.
It's a pretty chill place to get a drink with a fun jukebox app and loud music 🎶...
Wonderful early night spot. I had a small party and they were amazing host. Reserved tables for us and hosted a bar tab that was easy and organized at the end. Great staff and communication from the owner.
This place cracks me up — it’s basically an old dive bar with quality ambient lighting and a good cleaning crew, but somehow it pulls off speakeasy vibes 😂 had a great time here! The bartenders were super kind to us despite the reviews
I can't explain why but this is my favorite bar in town. It's a little girly but in a lived-in kinda way. The drinks are actually reasonably priced. There's always a little crowd, a good vibe, but I've never seen it too full. There's pool, shuffleboard, and even a claw machine. It's a great place for a first date or a pregame before the roller rink.
I really enjoyed this neighborhood bar. There was a good range of beer on tap and I loved the outdoor seating area. Benches made from pickup tailgate was a great touch. We spent a couple of hours here late in the evening over a few slow beers and it was exactly what we had been looking for. Highly recommended

The Aristocrat Lounge is a fantastic spot for a night out. The ambiance is chic and elegant, with comfortable seating and a well-stocked bar. The drinks are expertly crafted and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The snack menu is a nice addition, with tasty options to complement your beverages. The music selection is always on point and creates a lively atmosphere. Overall, Aristocrat Lounge is a top-notch establishment that is perfect for a special occasion or a casual night out with friends. I highly recommend it.
Cool dive with great mixed drinks. Pretty dark inside but it works. The back patio is a little small but comfortably seats a surprising amount of people. I've heard the food trailer in the back is amazing but I have yet to try it. My only complaint about this place is it can take a while to get a drink, but I believe this is because of the attention to detail the bartenders are putting into there drinks.
A quaint neighborhood bar that offers reasonably priced drinks. Make sure you bring your ID since they check everyone in your group. It was busy on a Friday night, but we found a seat. There is seating outside in front and in the rear as well as inside. There is a food truck located at the front door. However, I don't know the hours. Stop by and enjoy!
Fun bar. They have shuffle board, pool, and skeet ball. Drink prices are reasonable and there is a food truck in the back that is excellent. The staff is friendly and quick but a little harsh about checking ids. A person in our group forgot their id (they were clearly of drinking age) and they made them leave the bar. They wouldn't even let them stay and not drink. Besides that out was a fun experience.
Had a couple of drinks here last week. The bartender didn't seem too happy but it was a little busy and he was by himself. Anyways drinks were very good and the atmosphere is cool. I can't say enough about all of the Marilyn Monroe pictures all over the bar. Shes my favorite blonde and it was nice to see her all over the place!
Good atmosphere and vibes. Draft selection is limited but has a very GOOD limited selection. They do serve cocktail drinks. The margarita was very good and well made. This is a lounge, so the atmosphere is more a relax and talk with friends with a drink in your hand. Aristocrat does provide an outdoor area with limited seating and a smoking area. We all had a reality good night here and the prices were very reasonable.
This is a nice dive bar for a relaxed social night with some friends. They have a few local beers on tap, and many liquor options. Staff is friendly and helpful, and there are games to play like shuffleboard, pool, and giant Jenga outside. I've been here many times and enjoy sitting out in the back taking in the vibes with my friends. Definitely an enjoyable spot.
Very relaxed and probably the darkest bar in Austin (which I like). There is also a nice patio, however. It gives you a very classic Austin vibe with an original "Poodle Dog Lounge" sign from 1964. They had a unique beer selection. There are games to play and a projector set up for sports.
Very divey, but in a good way. Friendly bartender. Darts, billiards…a fun claw machine where if you win a Buddha, you get a free drink. Plenty of pictures of Marilyn Monroe. Unique little joint.
Used to be old dive bar Poodle dog lounge. Now it's newer, nicer dive bar, Aristocrat Lounge. It's a really cool laid back vine with routine and interestingly delicious drinks. Get the frozen churro. Lots of bar games, inland outdoor seating. Wheelchair accessible indoors, outside may be tight to manage and table arrangements don't allow for a lot of space for wheelchair navigation.
This was the first time visiting this lounge and I was very surprised how big it was inside. It has several pool tables, dart boards and a shuffle board. The highlight of their drink selection was their Old Fashion on tap. If I'm in the area I would stop by here again.
Nice little spot for day drinking. Surprisingly great drinks on tap. Pineapple jalapeno Paloma (not too sweet) is so solid!

Chill place, good atmosphere. Drinks are decently priced and it has an outdoor area, plus pool tables inside. Parking's usually pretty convenient, either in the small lot in front or on residential streets close by. Doesn't tend to get a large crowd, so solid place for a date if you're looking for somewhere you can hear each other talk and don't want to be cramped.
Nice dive bar, saw a band for a saturday matinee

Good late night spot with pool, darts, shuffleboard, and 90s jams often. Drinks are fairly priced and outdoor area is funky cute. Bartenders are more concerned with their own gossip and issues than being friendly, often has a foul odor - not sure what that's all about.
I keep coming back to this place because it is conveniently near my home and it is open until 2am. I like the ambience, but the bartenders always somehow ruin our time there. They cut you off after 3 drinks and embarrass you. They constantly under-pour to make a point. Its like their mission is to make people feel bad about drinking there. Isn't that bad for business? Its a try-hard dive bar. The bartenders suck. Think I need to find somewhere better.
The bartender was a jerk last night. I remember him being nicer last visit but seriously no attitude on a Tuesday night please. It feels too much like a “trying to be soooo Austin cool” place when the reality what made Austin cool was the nice people.
Such an odd place. My fiancé and I came for one of our first dates and have held this place in high regard ever since. However tonight we came in the reminisce about the early days and the bearded bartender absolutely killed the vibe with his attitude. My fiancé went to the bathroom while I waited at the bar to get our drink orders. He refused giving me a second drink for her (we’re clearly not underage) so I had to wait 10 minutes instead of having one ready to go. I asked for a second drink for myself and he said “woah cool it - you can chill for a bit”. Brother - it’s a dive bar and I’m stone cold sober. What are you doing? We closed out and wrote off this place moving forward. What a disappointment.
Decent pool tables ($1.50 per game) + darts but the bartender’s attitude was just terrible. He went out of his way to sarcastically insult each and every one of our party of 6. This guy obviously hates his job and goes out of his way to find a way to get customers to leave. Please do him a favor and find him a job that’s a better fit for his personality - he should not be interacting with paying customers.
This was one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The staff acted like they didn't want my business from the moment I walked through the door. Every time I tried to order a drink I had to contend with a server's bad attitude, it made me very uncomfortable. Needless to say I chose not to tip. Next day I noticed an additional charge post to my account after my tab had already processed. I will say that the general atmosphere was nice though, in my opinion.
I am kinda appalled by this place as not only a bartender but as a customer- it’s kinda trash. Old fashioned on tap is beyond an insult, so asked for a bulleit rye old fashioned extra sweet (they don’t use simple? Or cherries? Apparently that’s “old school” and it was- I’ll say probably better than whatever old fashioned they had on tap w 2 wildly different bourbons but still, extremely lacking) and the service is legitimately less than 1 star by the bartender Garth. It’s not hard to be remotely friendly - seriously try it guy you might make more money . Got cut off after 1 drink and legitimately half a shot (ordered a lemon drop but legit was just only deep eddy lemon and they can’t do sugar rims ?? ) because I accidentally spilled the electric jellyfish I had just got (people are clumsy and I’m short so was trying to hand it to him over the bar) trying to get change for the egg claw game because my friend and I were having a blast playing. When asking to help clean up and apologizing because I was a klutz he cut me off and patronized me- still tipped over 20 percent and when realizing my friend didn’t tip because of the situation I brought $10 cash to tip for him afterwards- you’re welcome. Get a freaking personality and an actual good attitude. Im nice and usually it takes alot for me to write a review, but heck no to all that!! Get it together and at-least pretend to like your job- bartender to bartender you’ll probably make more money or have returning guests. Don’t bother coming here!! Go to better dive bars like Nosh and Bevvy, they are always the sweetest, nicest folks around with amazing cheap drinks! We regret trying to branch out for the night and try a new place, but good thing nosh and bevvy is only 4 min away so we could end our night there!
There’s a reason half of the reviews of this place are one star. The service is TERRIBLE. After my entire party was carded at the door, and at the bar, I was hassled for IDs every time I attempted to order a drink. After bringing my entire party to the bar again to show their IDs so I could order a drink, I was told I should “just comply and make it easier on myself.” Not sure what was non-compliant about all us showing valid, state-issued IDs. They were also repetitively asking for IDs from people they had already served. Maybe TABC policies are different than when I got certified, but it’s typically common practice to ask for IDs before someone starts drinking their beer. Odd behavior too, especially considering that my group was ~80% of their business on a Friday night. I used to come here about a year ago and now I remember why I don’t go anymore. Also a bummer that there’s not many bars in the area and we had all ubered there, or else we would have left immediately. Save yourself a trip and go literally anywhere else. Terrible attitudes from both the bartenders.
I work down the street from this bar and have been visiting here occasionally for nearly a year now. Yesterday, my brown skinned friend and I dropped in for a drink around 11pm. The bartender immediately gave us attitude. My friend asked a clarifying question about a cocktail on the menu and the bartenders response was rude and condescending. After I ordered my drink the bartender asked my friend if he was “okay”. My friend immediately sensed the tension and said “Yes, and I'm completely sober”. Rather than apologizing for making a poor assumption, the bartender responded with “yeah, I don't believe that”. My friend and I were both stunned but we ignored the bartenders rudeness. My friend then order the “old old fashion” cocktail, that he had previously inquired about. The bartender refused his request by saying, “I'm not comfortable serving you that, I can get you a beer instead”. My friend then asked “what about me makes you think I'm drunk?”. The bartender then said, “You might not be drunk but something else is going on and although I'm not going to piss test you I also can't serve you a double”. My friend then ask “which cocktails are singles in the menu. The bartender was rude again and responded with “ were a bar we can make anything a single”. So, my friend then ask for a “single old fashion”. The bar tender said “all old fashions are doubles” so my friend gave in and said “i’ll just take a Dos Equis beer”. I get it, bartenders have a though gig and can refuse service at anytime but in this instance it felt like discrimination. We both were sober, had a long day of work and were just trying to order a drink. I will not be returning.
We really had an awful, almost disturbing experience here last night. Bartender Miguel has always kind of been rude, and a little dismissive. He very much makes you feel like you are not someone he ever wants to talk to and makes you feel almost guilty for ordering drinks because he is so bothered all of the time. I have always felt like I annoyed him every time I have come in, and you can tell who he likes by the service they receive. A lot of people just take it for what it it is, because it’s “edgy” and definitely plays into the dive bar vibe the Aristocrat is know for. My friend and I were sitting at the left far end of the bar and he was primarily gravitating towards the other end of the bar where he seemed to be more familiar with the patrons. I smiled at him, I waved, tipped an empty drink, trying to get his attention and was either flat out ignored or he just didn’t have anytime for a solid 30 minutes. The Bar back Mike (AN EMPLOYEE) was making out with a DRUNK customer over the bar and then disappeared to make out behind the red curtain to left of the bar. I am guessing why Miguel was running around doing everything (I have video if the owner is interested, and so does Miguel because he stopped screaming for a minute to ignore us and pull his phone out to record) which also brings up some very important questions of consent and professional conduct. We had been there for an hour, had one drink, and my friend who was with me “said, 👋 hey we have been waiting 30 minutes to get our drinks”, at which Miguel proceeded to lunge over the bar Ariel-over-the-rock-style and SCREAM in her face. I completely shut down and my fight, flight or freeze (FREEZE for me) kicked in. My friend yelled back, because it was so uncalled for it was jarring. We asked for our check, and he did not acknowledge the request and proceeded to be loud and gruff. When we I left I was fighting back tears with my heart beating in my ears. I am a native Austinite, and while I may not be a bar fly here, I have been coming here on occasion most of my adult life, never have I EVER experienced anything like this at any establishment. It’s a problem. So, unless you’re a patron who comes here regularly prepare to be ignored, talked down to, possibly even yelled at. Also expect Miguel to rile up all the patrons for an absolute s-show ending to make sure you’re adequately shamed if you dare to stand up for yourself.
Not the very doggy friendliest bar I’ve been to in Austin especially for having one painted on the building wouldn’t recommend for you and your pups! False advertisement? Also didn’t get great vibes off the bartenders either! Restrooms smelled horrific as well !
Great vibe, awesome food truck, rude/snarky bartenders. I ordered a Manhattan and the bartender said "What's that?" and paused for 10 seconds. He then points behind and says what liquor. I go back for another drink and order a Hells Lager and he pours me an Electric Jellyfish. I don't have the time/patience for this. Won't be going back
Multiple times bartenders have been rude and berated customers. It's a dive bar, expectations are minimal in terms of service, but we're talking instigating totally needless confrontations over literally nothing with unproblematic customers. Read other reviews, it's a trend. Plenty of better dive bars in the neighborhood now without jerks behind the bar. Only thing I can recommend here is Yeni's Fusion, she's wonderful.
DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I’ve NEVER been treated so poorly at a bar in Austin. The bearded bartender was such a condescending jerk and should be fired immediately. If this is a bar where the staff is rude, it should be written on the walls outside instead of the fun poodle decor.
