MOD Pizza Austin Reviews
The service here is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they made a wonderful pizza for me and a salad for my wife. The marionberry lemonade was delicious.
This place was pretty quiet at 730-8p when we visited. Mod is nicer than Blaze since you can get unlimited toppings. I believe at Blaze last time, I was only able to get 7 toppings. Pizza was delicious, even the plain cheese. Service at the counter was great. When it was time to pick up the pizzas though, they either called our name very quietly or didn’t call them at all. Our pizzas were sitting there for several minutes until another server said “oh your pizzas are ready”. It’s not a big deal but kind of frustrating when you’re starving. I would definitely revisit.
My wife and I have frequented Mod Pizza on 51st. in Austin regularly for several years. We love the fresh ingredients, build your own pizza concept and stellar service. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff are always warm, friendly and attentive. We are partial to the cauliflower crust! We are always grateful to have this healthy and delicious option available to us just a few minutes away!
I've visited MOD Pizza multiple times, and it has always been a fantastic experience. I love their unlimited toppings option, where you can customize your pizza with a variety of fresh and flavorful ingredients. My go-to combination includes onions, bell peppers, green peppers, roasted garlic, Roma tomatoes, mushrooms, different types of cheese, and a selection of flavored oils. The variety of toppings they offer is impressive, and the taste is consistently delicious. If you're looking for a fully customizable and flavorful pizza experience, MOD Pizza is a must-try!
This is a hot take, but I think MOD is one of the best pizza places in Austin. I like the thin crust, the very neutral toppings (sometimes I think places overcompensate with very herby sauces) and I think it's the perfect size. It doesn't feel as heavy as most fast pizza (which can also be great in the right circumstances).
Love Mod! The cost like everything else has gone through the roof, so I don't go as often. Seriously it started out less expensive than Dominos and now it's double the price in comparison. I like that it's the Chipotle of pizza, but with a family it is super expensive.
Just left here and the store is literally filled with fruit flies. Y'all need to get it under control. People were literally swatting fruit flies away from their pizzas as they put them on the counter. I wouldn't say the employees here have the best customer service... I don't care that much. But I got confused about what the options were when they started me half way through the line and they just kind of stared at me. It's probably just easier or order online...but if you are vegan they probably won't be that careful about respecting that when you aren't looking.
Their Mad Dog pizza was terrible . Their thin crust is also not that great . The unlimited toppings one with the thick crust was good . They have good selection of sauces .
I met some coworkers here for lunch today. This was my 1st time going. While the food was pretty good, it was VERY HARD to enjoy it due to all the gnats (or some flying bug) flying around our food and drinks.☹️ All three of us kept shoo'ing them away, which like I said, made it hard to enjoy our meals. Otherwise, good customer service, restaurant was clean MINUS the gnats, or whatever. I'd go back, once this issue is resolved. Thanks. 06.20.25
I would be giving this one 5 stars because the pizza was delicious with a variety of toppings. However, they really need to work on their management. This first visit was nice. The second visit was not so good. The "manager" came into the restaurant and started acting very unprofessional in front of customers and treating the employees very poorly. He also started throwing things in the restaurant from under the toppings table. I was pretty scared for the safety of us customers and the staff. Very disappointed...
started working in the area about 2 months ago and have been to this location 2-3 times. i like to get a good feel and a few experiences before leaving a review. with that being said, i am extremely disappointed to be leaving a negative review. the first time i came, it was great! food was awesome, staff was friendly and engaging. second time was so so, but today was another story. the staff today was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. I waited in line for 8 minutes and considering there was 2 of us, that seems excessive. there was no urgency. then when it was my turn, approximately 3 words were said. good thing i am familiar with what i like or we would of just been starring at eachother. didn’t seem like he wanted to make my pizza, meanwhile other staff member was standing around. neither of which greeted me, smiled, or spoke more than 2 words during my entire visit. was given my pizza, then more silence. on the other hand, my pizza is delicious!!! i love mod pizza, but will be going to a different location that values me as a customer!
I have been going to mod pizza for a while now, never once have I had such a bad experience there. Over the years the ranch serving quantity has gone down for sure, but today I was given two ranch cups, both of them combined would not fill a regular cup. I asked the lady at the front for a “little bit of garlic” to which she grabbed a fistful of it and just slapped it on there randomly, asked for feta Asiago and mozzarella and she starts grabbing blue cheese. This pizza looks disgusting, smells like it was made in a garlic factory, and the spreading of the toppings is absolutely horrendous. Probably the worst possible experience at mods -Update, the pizza is horrible.
So it is very hard for me to even give 1 star to this location. I was promised my order at 6:45 and I was there at 6:40 waiting on my pizza. I asked about it and they said it was being made now. At about 6:45, I heard what I thought was my name "Rick" and another guy stepped up and claimed the pizza. I went up and asked what name they called and he repeated back what I thought was Rick, after two times he indicated it was Brick with a B that he called. So I stepped back and continued to wait. A few minutes later the same guy came in and said that was not his order and he needed his order. I looked at what I he returned and he had already taken a bit of a piece of pizza before returning. At this point it was already 10 minutes late so I requested a refund. While going through the refund process and prior to giving me the refund, my name was called. I then assumed I was getting my pizza so I left. When I arrived, I opened my pizza only to find that they had packaged up the pizza the guy returned and handed it to me even though he had returned the pizza after eating some of it. It was the most discussing thing I have ever experienced at a dining establishment. I will never return to this location. I called and supposedly I will be getting a refund. I took the general managers name and I will be calling him tomorrow on 3/30. Good luck if you choose to go to this place. If they package up returned eaten pizza and hand it to customers, there is no telling what they will do to your pizza while cooking!
