The Hideout Coffee House Austin Reviews
This coffee shop truly allowed me to aura farm to my maximum capacity. I reached self-actualization while sipping my delicious pistachio matcha and performatively reading by the window. Would come back!
I like this place. It had a decent amount of seating for being downtown, prices were typical for this area. Most importantly the drinks were crafted well and were balanced- not too sweet, not too bitter. The barista was friendly and he was skilled in his latte art.
Very nice place with a very good espresso. Barista was very nice and polite. She greeted me with a big smile and made some joke with me. The place is interesting and with good seats options. I got some work done there with no problems. Espresso was very good and I was almost ordering a second one. I really recommend it.
I visited Hideout Coffee and ordered their Almond Joy iced latte and an everything bagel with chive cream cheese. Their iced latte was delicious but not anything too special. I did however really enjoy their everything bagel with chive cream cheese. The chive cream cheese they used had actual pieces of fresh chives mixed in and it was very fresh and delicious. The coffee shop had a cool and chill vibe, and the staff were friendly. Thank you
Starving after a medical appointment and ducked into the Hideout for nourishment and respite. Had THE BEST HAM/GRILLED SWISS SANDWICH WITH HONEY. The ham had no slivers of fat. All succulent ham. And a chaser of fresh lemonade. The staff is sweeter than Texas tea. Jazzy relaxing Christmas instrumental music accented dangling lights . A totally peaceful vibe. If you are at Aloft Downtown, exit front door. Hang a left 1 minute away on Congress. Pass 7-11 and a few steps away on left, The Hideout. My new hang out. A variety of sandwiches/drinks/coffee. Sit on a stool and watch Austinites and visitors walk by. Or grab a cozy table and forget the rat race.
This place has a really cozy vibe to it, they’re usually selling art that’s up on the walls. The glass windows add a nice bright feel feeling to the space. Last week I tried their iced Almond Joy which is has coconut and almond mocha. It was so good 🤤 I wasn’t expecting the combination of the flavors to taste that good. The coffee is also well balanced, this is coming from a coffee connoisseur. They also have lots of sweet and savory food options. Try it out!
A wonderful hidden little gem. A nice relaxing atmosphere, some soft jazz music, great tea and latte. Had the bacon egg and cheese breakfast burrito and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a nice casual relaxing bite to eat. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Worth the visit for sure.
It was a bit chilly while I was roaming around downtown Austin in the morning & was walking by. I ended up grabbing an Americano, it’s a decent spot ☕️
The coffee and discounted day old scone were great. The cafe was bustling and pleasant and drew a broad generational audience. Not the best coffee in Austin, but probably the second best! The barista was a little on the grouchy side and the vibe behind the counter was not warm or inviting. Minimal words, kinda just do the job and get you out. But the job was done tasitly!
This coffeehouse is very chill and unpretentious. There are simple butcher block tables with metal chairs and brick walls with a wood ceiling. Small artwork is on the walls and is for sale. The employee I interacted with was helpful to me in selecting a drink. The decision I made ended up being perfect! The pastries are from Easy Tiger, so bagels, croissants, and tacos are available. This is a great coffeehouse.
Though overpriced ($7 for a 16 ounce vanilla iced latte), The Hideout is otherwise everything you’d want in a local coffee shop. There’s local art for sale on the walls, they stock bites and baked good, and the baristas are friendly and fast. The coffee was good though not appreciably better than similar drinks that cost less elsewhere.
Quaint bright and vibrant shop with friendly people. Hideout Hazelnut (Caramel & Hazelnut) flavor was faint when delivered but after asking for one more shot of each it was very good(maybe I just like sweeter more flavorful coffee). I hope they resell the muffins because it was very dry yet tasty. Getting the wrapper off just about destroyed the muffin. See photo. Service needs minor tweaking. I wasn’t given my muffin at checkout because the cashier was distracted (she chats a lot which seems to slow service), but then when I asked for it she told me to have a safe night, at 8:30am.
I found this place close to the hotel I was staying at the staff was nice coffee was good almost croissant was good too but nothing stood out not a bad coffee shop at all tho
Today I walked in to this coffee shop. This would have been my third time here. The first couple times it was a pleasant experience the service was good, the food and coffee were great too. Unfortunately I walked in today and was greeted with a disgusted face from the atendee. As I walk up to the counter I greet the guy sitting there and tell him "Hey how's it going?" And I don't get any response back. I already knew something was off as I had already identified his disgusted "I don't feel like working today face." He didn't ask me to take my order or what I needed. He just stood there and waited for me to place my order, I pause and I tell him, "you know what, I'll come back later." He just nods and I go about my way. Very poor customer service by this guy. I get it, it was a Monday and he may not had wanted to be there but I'd rather take my money where it serves better. I hope you guys have a better experience than mine.
Loved the atmosphere of the place but they def need better customer service skills. We arrived at 8 (opening) and the said she wasn’t ready yet and it would be a few minutes, we understood and we waited over 40 min for the food because she began tending to other customers’ orders first. We finally got our food and the Crossiant was burnt and she said she would remake it but that would take god knows how long. She also claimed she did not have any cash for change so those who are giving her cash and needing change, are going without. I would never recommend this place to anyone and especially if you’re on a time limit. You’re better off making your off your own coffee and food.
