B-Side Avenue B Reviews
I had the pleasure to come to an event at B Side for a good friend of mine to launch his book. Great to see people I haven't seen in sometime. Small however quaint with a good atmosphere. Nothing but genuine Love going around in a place that's down to earth. Met both owners and very nice and friendly people. Check out his book 👍💪.
Bartender there is Him…the chosen one. Tall Denzel Washtub type beat kinda guy. Nice east village spot for late night shenanigans with gangnem
I really like the vibe in here. We had an early going away party there, but the bartenders were so nice to us I think I’ll go back. Lots of diff beers (and liquor) and some good smiles all over the bar.

I love this place. The term 'dive bar' is thrown around carelessly these days, but this is one is for real. Great spot to chill and meet oddballs...maybe bond over something cool on the screen.
Their "B-side special" is $6 for a beer and a whiskey shot which is a steal! Good homey vibes with some games in the back. Love the atmosphere!
Really really loved this place!! Drinks were strong and tasty, bartenders were attentive and friendly, and the overall vibe was great! Highly recommend for good drinks if you’re in the area! We came on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too too busy, a nice crowd. We ended up coming back a week later on Friday and had another great time. Will deff be back!
This bar just opened across the street from me and Im excited for it. Mostly just making this room to ask the owner to get a better pool table and a 7 footer so it could become my pool spot.
So glad I decided to have my birthday party here! Great bar package that was affordable for my group. The owners were super friendly and helpful in managing the event and the bartender James was fantastic. Everyone had so much fun and we'll definitely be back for a night out!
My favorite dive bar in the city. It's changed a bit over the years but luckily not too much. The bathrooms are grimey, the whiskey used for the beer/shot special tastes like gas, but it feels like a genuine bar in a neighborhood now filled with generic bars which open and close every 6 months.
Chill cash-only spot to grab a few drinks and chat away the night with your pals. Cocktails are poured well and their beer selection is quite a good mix of local stuff as well as your typical big bottled beer list.
Awesome dive bar. Became a real hot-spot for a few years, but has returned to its more everyday drinking bar roots these days. Not that it doesn't still blow up from time to time, but you're more likely to have a good conversation with friends, than to run into a velvet rope. The badass jukebox deserves a mention too. Drink responsibily... just not at b-side ;) - cheers
Great bar, unique atmosphere, superb music, chill af bartender, great prices especially when they have beer and shot deals. I will be returning here. They have board and card games to play as well.
I'll give this whole in the wall a 5 . just because Jessica the bartender is awesome. A good locals place on Ave B. It's a straight forward place, nothing flashy. I think Jess makes the place with her big smile and her bubbly personality. Stop by if your in the neighborhood

Adrian the bartender was the man. The $6 Pabst and shot combo is a winner if you wanna 'get there' fast and cheap. Oh yeah, and the music is pretty good. Shout out to Blake as well. B-side will always be a solid stop on any alphabetical bar excursions.

B-Side’s name is a play on its location on avenue B. It’s also, for the patrons who are waaaay too young to know, what they called the other side of 45 rpm record (those are the little ones), the side that didn’t have the hit on it. You can probably hear Cyndi Lauper’s “Girl’s Just Want to Have Fun” in your head, even if you don’t want to, but do you know “Right Train Wrong Track”? Welcome to the B-side! This place is a quintessential dive bar, and it’s got everything you’d expect: Dingy lighting? Check! Battered furnature? Yep. Graffitied bathroom? Yessir! Colorful characters? A-plenty! Snappy bartender? Why of course! It also has the most important element, cheap booze! Look, sometimes you want to sip artisanal cocktails, lovingly mixed and garnished, and presented with flair, in a refined atmosphere. Other times, you want to sit in someplace comfortably dim, and get lit on the cheap with other struggling New Yorkers. If that’s what you are after, B-Side is your place! Come here first to pre-game, or after whatever to grab a last nightcap, or hell, stay here all night and maybe connect with some other troubled stranger. The truth is going to a dive bar usually comes with a sense of adventure, and sometimes a place like this can surprise you. It’s like the Stones sang, you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need. Yep, that was a B-Side!
Neighborhood watering hole and I love it! Tucked around the corner from the hustle and bustle, B-Side's outdoor area feels cozy with it's colorful benches (enough to fit a good group)! Happy Hours are always my "go-to's" (until 6pm)! Great customer service! This place will definitely be seeing me more!
Cozy little spot with great happy hour prices. Nice place to stop by after work for a few quick drinks. More of a dive bar where you can chat with a few friends. The bartender is friendly and attentive.

Meh, it went through a revamp/remodel. I used to like the old dive bar vibes -- made me feel at home. It's okay, drinks are overpriced and the back room is tiny. I feel bad for loving this place for what it was, but I guess that's the new age city for you.

Expensive for any mixed beverage beyond the basics. The music is respectable — boomer hits, rap throwbacks — but tragically un-hip. Beware of trying to improve the vibe with their “jukebox”, as your song is likely to be cancelled by an overzealous bartender who would rather change the tune than serve you a proper drink. If you, for some reason, find yourself at Side-B against your will, order something simple and make a beeline for the back and the pool tables ($2, but a nice amenity).

came here the other night and the bartender was so rude… like listen, i work in food & beverage and i can understand the stresses of customer service, but i would NEVER be rude to a customer right off the bat. i walk in with my friend and immediately we receive nasty looks from the bartender. she asks for our IDs, and notices my 21st birthday had just passed… i kid you not she looks at a customer sitting at the bar, laughs, turns to me and says, “happy birthday, i guess” with a smirk on her face. i obviously saw that, but i decided to look the other way and proceed to act respectfully. she then asks what i wanted and when i gave her my order SHE SCOFFS and in the most monotonous voice replies, “yeah…sure”. Okay, strike two. i ignore the blatant rude remark, grab my drink and go to the back of the bar. and as we’re walking to the back a group of customers begin to mock me, making fun of my “first drink as a 21 year old”. like jeez. i guess this is the bar where all the almost 30 somethings come to make fun of people younger than them to make themselves feel better about painfully shriveling up like prunes! i guarantee you, old folks, its not your age that makes u old, its your attitude. so please, check yourselves!! im not the type to leave reviews but this experience was so beyond uncomfortable and angering. also, i would not have tipped the bartender but i did because i genuinely felt bad for her and im not a rude person unlike her. lmfaoooo.
