Popeyes Bastrop Reviews
For fast food it was good. They are friendly. Not the best chicken I have had at a Popeyes, but it was good. I am a fan of their Chicken Sandwich.
We went there last night and showed up like 5 minutes before closing. We didn't realize that they were about to close due to the fact that we live in Austin and our Popeye stays open way later. The young man that waited on us was very polite. We wanted to eat there, he brought up that they were about to close. He was fine with us being there but we decided that we would just go out of courtesy. He was very patient with us because we changed our minds like two times. The store was very clean everybody that worked there was polite. I would definitely recommend this Popeyes.
I want to really Thank the guy that worked on Wenesday night off the clock in Bastrop,Tx. October 15,2025 he went over and beyond to get everybody's order out even though the they were short handed and he was working off the clock ,that's what u call real customer Service and trying to Please the customers. They all were working hard this particular night but especially the one that was off the clock,he deserves a raise or something very special. Thanks again!
I’ve had food from this location 3 times. Only Drive thru so I can’t say about cleanliness for dine in. Food looked and tasted fresh all 3 times. Customer service was polite and genuine all 3 times.
Seems like they didnt have enough chicken made at the time I placed my order. I got a 10 piece with all the same cut of meat. The chicken was good though.
I can understand how hard it is to get workers today so I don't mind that they had to shut down the drive-through. Had I not placed an order online and paid for it, I might have skipped lunch here. The inside was fairly busy with only one person working the counter, one frying chicken and the other getting the biscuits out. They were all three working as hard as they could. I stood under the sign that said "Mobile and online orders here" thinking that might speed things along. I saw the worker put an order together that looked like mine but she never acknowledged me. So, it sat on the tray for 9 minutes. I finally spoke up and asked if that was my order and gave her my name. As she was handing it to me, I asked if she could please replace the fries with hot ones. If I'm going to spend calories, it isn't going to be on cold fries. She was not happy with my request but trashed the ones in my bag and since she had just dumped a fresh batch, put another serving in. Again, they were short handed so you just have to give a little grace for her not being welcoming or friendly. The food was excellent. The chicken was fresh and hot and crispy and the biscuit was fresh, too. A pretty good value for $6! I wish the app special would let you choose the 2 sides you want instead of forcing you to have mashed potatoes AND French fries! I haven't been to a Popeyes in years but the food was delicious!
Despite having plenty of bad reviews, it wasn't too bad. I ordered a spicy 3 piece meal, and 2 out of the 3 pieces were actually spicy. Disappointed that they didn't have bottled water, but the young lady working the window was very nice and polite, I got my food in a decent time frame, and it was what I ordered for the most part. A ton better than some other Popeye's I've been to. I'll be back.
Visited the Bastrop in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. Went inside and ordered and was told they were short staffed, and could not eat inside. I said no problem, make my order to go and i will eat at table and clean up after myself and my wife. The unprofessional actions by the 2 young men horsing around and taking bad to customers really turned me off. I have tried many times to contact the District Manager's phone (on reciept) just rings with no answers or no voice mail. My advice is if you want to spend $16.00 on chicken, go somewhere that appreciates your business. Management needs a lot of work to get this location to some sort of standards.
I don't know if its just this specific Popeyes, but... why am I paying 50$ for a family tender meal... and the tenders look like baby carrots? Like... why? Why charge that much when the FOOD DOESNT MATCH THE PRICE! C'mon man, do better please. Its already hard enough out here.
Stop to grab lunch order 6 piece wing combo and I work 2 mins from them and my chicken was greasy and chicken was not hot and not crispy. It was soggy and like warm. This Popeyes has got to be the worst ever. Everytime I go it’s always something. No recite no thank and they don’t answer the phone when nobody was even there. Definitely have lost my business!
I placed an online order for a family meal(12 tenders, 4 fries, and 4 drinks). When I went to the restaurant to pick up my order, there only one worker at the counter. There were several women standing around talking. They were out of all sides except for mash potatoes. I asked to cancel my order. They told me I had to cancel online. I went online and their system told me I was not able to cancel my order. If I’m not receiving the items I ordered I should get a refund. This is ridiculous.
Very slow on taking order had to wait 5 minutes just for order to be taken. Then when finally got to the widow ten minutes later with one car in front of me. I had to wait another 8 minutes for the food and money to be taken. Plus they had no gravy available either. This was on 1/28/26 at 1206pm finally got out of drive through at 1228pm. Plus the lady taking the order did not speak clearly enough to understand her.
I wish to give 0 stars. Workers always give wrong pieces. Seems like they don't get trained for this job. Young guys never pay attention to the orders. I order 4 combos 2 breast in each one. I saw how he put different pieces on my combos. When I ask to the guy if he's put just breast on my combos he say yes. I take my order and check every box and no breast on my combos. I go inside again and I ask the guy I want breast on my combos. All he say o Im sorry you want breast instead !!. I'll show the receipt and ask what the receipt says. This guys not even know what the chicken pieces looks like. Bad customer service. Bad is bad 👎
Worst experience at a Popeyes. Wait 5 minutes in the drive through with no response then had to walk inside. 2 of the 3 employees were just hanging outside in there cars. Fries were not fresh and biscuits were hard.
Went by at Noon and the lady at the register said they do not have any white meat chicken and was not sure when they would get more. I asked if they would have some in 15 minutes or 15 days? She had no idea and gave me the strangest looks like I was crazy for asking. Gotta be one of the worse Popeye’s I have been to!
Carina the store manager is not only rude. No one but her in the store speaks any english. It took 10 min to get help because multiple non english speaking ppl came up to me and then went to someone and in spanish asked about my order.
I waited for over 30 minutes to get my food. They had forgotten about my order and the service from a young man was horrible. I spent over 60.00 to get treated like this is unbelievable. Order a 12 piecemeal to get home and get 7 legs 3 wings and 2 thighs! Then try and call and there numberdorsnt get answered and then a dead tone after that. I ask for honey and Cajun sparkle and I get 3 of one and one of the other. Idk for. Tie and he tells me they are out!! The all of a sudden the other girl comes over and hands me more. The service was horrible I will be up there tomorrow to speak to a manager about this I live over 20 minutes away from the restaurant so will not be back tonight
I’ve come to learn that this location can be very hit or miss. And today I am really not happy with the outcome. My husband went to pick up some lunch for us and both of our meals are messed up in some way. He ordered me a number 7 which is the seafood combo…Im not sure what number the wings are but that’s what I got.. it should have come with a coke and I didn’t get that either. I was on the phone with him and he ordered exactly what I had asked for. Not only did I get a completely different meal than what I had asked for he had asked for a 3pc meal and got a 6 ( usually I wouldn't complain about something like that, but with my meal being completely wrong I feel it’s necessary right now). On the upside the chicken is good and the fries are decent.
I left my card in the drive-thru like a dummy, I assume the drive-thru lady stole my card and gave it to someone. When I went back to retrieve my card that I already knew wouldn't be there, I asked her and the manager if they had cameras and she (drive-thru lady) said no and changed her answer once her manager (not real manager just shift lead) reassured me they did. It's a shame because I like Popeyes, but this location is spiraling fast. Will be going back in the morning with a police report and hopefully some clarification with video evidence.
Love Popeyes, but the Bastrop location always let's us down. We try about every 6 months, but still disappointed. The containers were not full. You would think after spending $55, you would have better quality food. The red beans and rice was mostly liquid and rice, very little beans. Biscuits were hard and dense like a hockey puck. No amount of butter or honey could soften them. Chicken was dry.
I had to take some time to think about whether I wanted to write this. I wanted to excuse it even though the entire situation really confused me. When I walked into Popeyes, I asked for 3 spicy drumsticks. Is that a term not used any more? Why was it emphasized in such a rude tone that I didn’t want a combo? I understand that combos make more money, but I don’t understand why that would disappoint her to the extent that it did that I didn’t want a combo. Then, after I ordered, they said they didn’t have any spicy drumsticks left, so I asked for a refund. She wanted to force me to keep what she wanted me to eat. I got frustrated since I did not understand why I couldn’t get a refund for the food I didn’t want. Then, the guy in a different colored shirt, so I’m assuming manager/team lead, said that there was and that it would just take over 10 mins to heat up. I don’t eat fried food super often, so I waited for about 20 minutes to be told several times when I was getting my order that it was spicy. Am I mistaken that this chicken wasn’t spicy? I read they were supposed to have a kick, their spicy chicken sandwich is pretty spicy. Am I mistaken to expect the spicy chicken leg to be spicy too? (They typed it wrong on my receipt.) I took a while to post this since I can understand needing to work and how frustrating it can be to serve others; however, blatantly lying and teaming up to lie seems a bit overboard. There were 3 people who emphasized that it was spicy. The lady to took my order, the manager/lead, and another lady who handed me the food. Attached is a picture of what I got.
I ordered 2 orders of 5 blacken tenders combo, with smash potatoes w gravy. First I was waiting at the drive thru for 10 minutes because they forgot our other 5 piece, 2nd I get home, they only give me GRAVY + no biscuit with my combo or straws. I’m not able to get a hold with the store but I would like to get a refund since I paid $30 for basically nothing.
Ugh. Rule of thumb, if it’s Tuesday and Popeyes not jumping, the Popeyes suck. I went during dinner time and it was dead but it still took ten minutes for me to get my food, I was the only one in line the entire time I was there. The food was old. Like the skin of the chicken was how it was when I opened the box. The chicken was old and soggy. Never again. I wouldn’t even feed this to my dogs.
Absolutely horrible service! After placing an online order I arrive 15 min later. They tell me they are waiting on the blackened tenders. Those take 8 minutes to cook. I order them every week, they are delicious. 12 minutes later I get my food. Get to my car and they only gave me 4 tenders when I ordered 5. They don't even have a 4 tender combo! So the cook and the lady who boxed my order didn't notice only 4 tenders and then, of course, no biscuit. I go inside and the manager tells me it will be another 10 minutes. I explained I didn't have any more time to wait since it had been already half an hour. She said" ok bye" and turned and walked away as I was asking for a refund. Just threw it in the trash and called it a wash. Enjoy!
