Drawing Office Two Belfast Reviews
Recently visited the wonderful city of Belfast and had lunch here. Food was just incredible and the service friendly and attentive. You must visit. The seafood chowder is just the best.
This is a must see if you’re traveling to see the Titanic Museum. There is so much history in this building. It’s the actual drawing room where they designed the Titanic. I was absolutely mesmerized by everything about this bar. It was bright and beautiful. The food and service were impeccable. They make you feel like you’ve stepped back into time. You won’t be disappointed.
Had 2 roasts. The best roasts ever. Seriously, the meat, the yorkshires, the veg were all superb. The beef was exceptional. Only slight flaw, the dried on yellow swirl on my plate, that I literally peeled off the plate. I have no idea what that was. Service from James was excellent.
Special bar in the very special hotel building. Spacious and authentic hall with the island bar in the middle. Huge valued wooden model of RMS Titanic dominates the place. All bartenders are friendly, very helpful and they can shake fine variety of the drinks. Even Guinness was superb here! Joyful experience :-)
Great eating experience in this beautiful 'reborn' space. As a trained draughtsman from many years ago I remember looking round this old derelict drawing office some years ago. The Titanic Hotel have done great job in bringing back to life and making it a central point for its fine dining. Great place to eat and splendid service.
Has a delicious meal here in October. Stagg were very helpful, efficient ns deal was delicious. Lovely atmosphere, the room was lovely and spacious. So special to sit in the room where the Titanic was drawn. Would recommend and would return. Sits right beside the Titanic exhibition
Very nice airy bar in one of the rooms the Titanic was designed in. We stopped for a coffee after visiting the museum.
Had lunch here. Was not disappointed! Beautiful building with history. Beautiful central bar and a piano restaurant. Everything about it was great! Food atmosphere. Its a must visit!!!
Definitely a good idea to go in here after a Titanic experience. Restaurant or bar food and or drinks
Spectacular historic venue, great food and drinks too
I take my hat of the bar staff. Chips and onion rings were delicious.
Enjoy food or a drink in a room where you can almost feel the history come to life. Spectacularly restored.
Didn't have dinner there but the place is great for the history within. Definitely a milestone in Belfast. Even the restrooms are a piece of history
Unfortunately once again I didn't eat here. Once again I was drooling over other people's food. The drink though is top class, lots of local brands front and centre, friendly staff and a lovely vibe.
Excellent venue. Sofas a bit low. Seats more comfortable. Bar prices average. Margarita cocktails excellent. Bar food looked great. In fact next time I go will have the bar food instead of Sunday lunch in restaurant.
I want to give this 4.5 as a 4 or 5 wouldn't quite fit, but stuff it, it's into a new year so a 5 will do. Good choice of all the drinks you'd need and a reasonable food menu in an historic building, with a large model of the Titanic. Visit it and in the evening, the Titanic museum is lit and provides a fairly striking backdrop.
Beautiful bright open room - the pork belly bites starter were delicious and expertly prepared. Not fancy place overall - but wouldn't look out of place if you dresses up.
Fabulous place for a lunch after the exhibition. The very best curried fish chowder I’ve ever had and the chef gave us the recipe.!
Beautiful restored bar in offices of the shipyard across from Titanic museum. However, service was very poor. Despite several wait people and managers milling about and even though it was not busy at all, service was very slow and inattentive. Even at the bar, we were ignored for a long period before finally finding someone to take our order. Asked for water and dessert menu repeatedly. Expected first class service, but got third class service.
2025 update: The menu was the same so we could reorder favourite dishes. However the food was underwhelming in comparison to previous visits. The crispy chicken wrap was presented in an unappealing way. It was not crispy, and the wrap and contents were very soggy. On previous visits, the chicken wrap had contained very crispy whole pieces of breaded chicken. This time the chicken had been shredded and the bread coating was wet. It was very disappointing. The seafood salad looked more appealing, but the dressing had little flavour. The prices have increased as expected, but unfortunately on this occasion the food quality has decreased. 2024: An enjoyable location for a relaxed lunch or drink. The food is great and there was a variety of popular options on the menu. You can sit at the bar and have a drink, or choose to be seated away from the bar for a meal. We arrived early for lunch and then it became very busy during the lunch period.
Place was beautiful, food was delicious & the young man serving at the end was fantastic. Only downside was the table, little bit too low to eat from & 1 of us had to sit on a small stool
The overwhelming memory I will take from this lunch was the “above and beyond” service from a young waitress (name starting with L, served lunch today) whose politeness was impeccable as she was let down by the bar’s depleted wine stock three times in a row. In her place I might have given up but she took ownership of the problem and found a solution by making an extra effort to go to another part of the hotel to procure some wine. The consequence was that we (gladly) doubled what we paid on the wine rather than spending nothing at all. So often I’ve seen this situation and been met with a “can’t do” person. To have someone like her in the team is a credit to the venue. The missing fifth star was because the Bloody Mary’s were awful - much too ice / water, as mentioned above, the wine stock management seemed entirely sub-optimal and the food was merely “OK”; entirely forgettable, for the most part lazily prepared and presented. Most of the staff looked like they were suffering from a preceding heavy night; in both their grey complexion and lethargic demeanour. One said as much to us which raised an eyebrow amongst my guests. The space itself is very underused - it’s a beautiful piece of clean, classic architecture, and the seating and tables don’t much fit the space and are uncomfortable for doing much more the lounging. All in all, I’m glad there was an exemplary waitress to prop the score up.
Nice place, but the food did not match the price, paid 19 pound for a chicken wrap. You would get better in KFC.
This establishment is unique in that it allows you to dine in a room once occupied by White Star Line ship builders and designers. However, that unique trait becomes less apparent as more important aspects, such as the food and service. Clearly are subpar, wait staff are extremely slow, further our silverware was OBVIOUSLY dirty, I’m talking pieces of green vegetables still on the fork! Food is also mediocre, I have to unfortunately say I was very disappointed.
While the food at Drawing room was great, the service was the worst we have experieced anywhere. Took a half hour after we were seated to be greeted by server. And after relatives joined us for after dinner drinks, it was like pulling teeth to get served another drink. Original Manager Davey was very accomodating, but the evening manager had an attitude. At one point I waived at that manager to ask for a server to stop by and got a dirty look and then he turned away, never returned. A half hour at the bar was required to get 2 Guinness poured, AND ALL THIS WHILE THE BAR WAS HALF EMPTY.
This was a great small restaurant, the food was ok but it was very good overall. The staff was great, especially how friendly they were and the atmosphere in general was great. I would definitely recommend going here and giving it a try.
Service too slow had to wait ages to be asked what we wanted. Our meal was finished we sat 15 mins on someone to clear the table. I had to go find someone to ask for a sweet menu. Food was delicious but service was poor.
Bar was bright and atmosphere was good, plenty of people around with at least 4 staff behind the bar. This was the disappointing part. Despite taking a seat at the bar and it not being terribly busy, I had to wait for some time to catch the eye to get served. In a bar of this reputation and stature I expected more. Apart from this, it is a nice typical hotel bar.
A bright atmosphere in a historic gem. Unfortunately, the food for such a class place was completely unsatisfactory and the service absolutely below average. We ordered two orders of onion rings for which only one showed up. The rings were burned and lacked any flavour at all. Not to mention the wait times in between ordering drinks and having to remind our server that we had ordered things that had still not arrived. 2 stars because we can't discount the atmosphere but otherwise 1.
We came here for a family celebration dinner and I have to say the service was atrocious. The staff were not attentive and kept walking past our table ignoring us. They kept forgetting to bring us drinks and sides we had ordered with our meal. I definitely will not be back. The food was average and not worth visiting again. The story behind the building is the only thing that we enjoyed.
Ordered a hot chocolate and two Mocha coffees which took a while to be served. When they arrived there were no spoons and no trimmings! Usually pricey coffees in hotels come with a small piece of shortbread. The drinks were very disappointing and did not taste of chocolate. Visited the hotel out of curiosity but don't plan to return!
The staff ignored us for long time and we had to work hard to order food and a drink at the bar. When the food came the order was wrong and they seemed put out that we wanted our original order. The food wasn't anything to shout about. The female maitre de was rude the two times she spike with us. A real shame as we were looking forward to it after an amazing first visit to the Titanic museum. We won't eat or drink here again.
Has went down hill. Terrible service and badly cooked food. ( you could taste the oil was rancid that the food was fried in and the egg white wasn't white it was clear like a runny nose) Tony the manager took our order and when it arrived it was incomplete....that wasn't a problem as we all forget things. The fact that he blamed us and argued that we hadn't ordered the missing item was a problem! The place was dirty. I would recommend skipping this place and go to a nearby greasy spoon cafe for an all round better experience.
Giving 1 star as I cannot give 0. Dined at lunchtime today in the bar area with work friends. Ordered a chicken burger which was served raw. The chicken breast wasn’t just slightly undercooked, but raw. The waitress speedily took it away and acknowledged it wasn’t good enough and would take it off the bill. There’s a difference between unsatisfactory food and raw chicken - which is a health hazzard. To me that requires further action than removing it from the bill. The staff were inattentive and not intune with the needs of the customers. No further acknowledgment or apology from staff and they seemed to just brush it off. Will never be back. Given the footfall of tourists, this is just an embarrassing showcase of our local food and hospitality.
Fillet was so tough. One person did not receive the food. We went on to the bar and waited half an hour for our drinks. It was not busy and we felt ignored. Not a great first experience here.
Absolutely terrible terrible staff avoid avoid avoid Whilst I was at the bar I watched one barman throw a card at my daughter whilst telling another lady she would just have to wait till he was ready to pay her bill . Another customer walked in and was abruptly told your are number three in my list you will have to wait . Food was expensive but ok Waited 30 mins for a pint then two came (another bar staff blunder ) Nice place riined by lack of decent staff
I was looking forward to sitting down and enjoying a beer and a meal here. The disappointment was real though after seeing waiters continuously passing by and serving other customers who had just walked in. Finally managed to signal one of the waiters and he brushed us off, said he'd be with us shortly, then went and served another group. We didn't get any water to our table or any real service at all until we went to leave and by then we were already frustrated with the lack of service and it was too late. The decor and history of the building is sadly the only thing they have going for them.
Service was woeful, sat unattended for at least 15 minutes, waitresses actively avoided making eye contact. The man who sat us down initially just wiped the table with his hand ( obviously too much trouble to go and get a cloth!!). Complained to the manager on the way out. Young man dark hair not wearing a name badge. He apologised and said that he'd speak to the staff. Very poor. Can't comment on food or anything else as it was soo poor that we left.
Lovely surroundings. Very inattentive staff. Had to get waiting staff attention every time we wanted to order drinks or food. Waiting staff never approached us to as if everything was ok or if anything else needed. At one point I noticed when a waitress was asked to bring the dessert menu, she rolled her eyes. Are the staff so badly mistreated by the management that the attitude of the staff is so bad towards the customers.
