Taylor & Clay Belfast Reviews
What a great find, however in fairness it did come recommend. Still - great place, thought I'd booked but hadn't however amazing staff managed to find us seats. From start to finish - floorless in every aspect... food, meat, the bloody meat !!! Blow your socks off decent, pity the fellas sat next to us wouldn't sell us their steak lol... and after ordering the staff asked who else was joining.. we we're there to eat / taste & enjoy... if youre in town - get down as its great!!!
I got the Asador plate that included steak chicken shrimp AND salmon and it was all perfectly cooked and amazing. Their chimichurri was a beautiful mix of fresh and garlic. I wish I had another night in Belfast to come back. Thank you!
Tyler and Clay Grill was the perfect spot for a lively birthday celebration with my lab mates. Despite the bustling and somewhat noisy atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious grilled food and the accompanying music, making for a fun and memorable experience overall. It's a great place to go for tasty grilled dishes and a good time, even if it's a bit loud.
Great food, great service absolutely amazing place will definitely come back, couldn’t do anything better myself.
The bar area is great. Cozy and great for visiting with friends. It has a bit of a modern pub vibe but still feels decently authentic. Staff was polite and considerate and dedicated the time we needed to understand the menus local flair and flavours. This paid off, we had amazing Meals. The place was very clean and service was decently brisk. It gave us just the right amount of time to visit before the meal arrived. Over all we are very pleased we stopped here for a meal by happenstance but we’re delighted. They have tons of tables with a different vibe in the bar part vs the restaurant section
Tried this place for the first time tonight and had a great experience. Great service, excellent food…didn’t have time to photograph all of it, we pretty much inhaled the starters…but the lamb and fish dishes we chose are shown below. Great whiskey selection…which k picked from instead of dessert, but my wife had a lemon posset, which she loved too. Great service but advise you to make a reservation, as it was pretty full `9surprisingly so for a Thursday night). Recommended.
Amazing experience... we were watching the grill the whole time... totally mesmerising... every single dish was very delicious 😋... service was very on point as well...
Food and service were EXCEPTIONAL. SHE Started with a Shiraz and I had a Guinness (naturally). Then we had the bites menu - cashews, bread and bits, and Gordal Olives. We followed that up with the Pork Belly dinner and I had the chicken with apricot and pistachio stuffing. The meats were cooked to perfection. The sauces were full of flavor and complementary. It was an excellent experience and I ended the evening with a Spicy Margarita off the specialty cocktail menu. Wonderful experience.
Really great find. Booked a table quite spontaneous. Beware the entrance is through the bullit entrance - we got a little confused. Overall, food was really great. Their steak was tasty. One steak was a little overcooked in some parts but then okay in others. Their greens that accompanied the steak was outstanding! The cocktails were okay. The lemon and passion fruit tart was nice and tart! The service was also great. Our server was friendly and attentive.
Came here without reservation, yet was seated fairly quickly. We ordered two cocktails, which were superb. The croquettes were amazing flavorful. The chicken was juicy and well done. The decor of the place is contemporary and inviting. The service was good but we had to call our server a couple of times as they were taking too much time either bringing water or the check. Regardless of that, the food and cocktails were spectacular, which reinforced our view that Belfast is a culinary center in Ireland.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Nice Wine selections and the dishes were fantastic. Steak was cooked to perfection and the butternut squash soup was very tasty and creamy. A great spot to attend with a group. Would revisit next time in Belfast. Try the espresso martini as well! Worth it!
This restaurant is attached to Bullit Hotel - why leave! Great meal and bread and butter pudding great way to end the meal!
The steak here was fantastic. I’d probably say one of the best I’ve had in belfast, better than stix and stones or bar and block. I had the châteaubriant which was cooked to perfection and excellent in every way. I was a bit hesitant at first as I’d never really heard about Taylor and clay but it did not disappoint. Service was great, food excellent and less of a faf getting drinks than the aforementioned steak joints. Definitely would come back here again and highly recommend.
Excellent food! How fabulous is it to watch your dinner being prepared and cooked to perfection! I can highly recommend the quail and the Denver steak. Great service and lovely atmosphere.
We went here for dinner and all the food we ordered was fab! The staffs are so friendly and very chatty, always checking out what the customer needs! Great ambiance too. Highly recommended 🙌
Relaxing Atmosphere, very friendly service, perfect and good arranged food. I had the early evening menu with really perfect rump. Every course was great and delicious. The bullit lager is to recommend. If you are in Belfast, take your time for Taylor & Clay
We just dined there today as a post-valentine treat. My sirloin steak was divine, and my husband's ribeye was also really great! Make sure to get the bone marrow butter, béarnaise sauce was very good too! Good list of wine and cocktails, plus the staff is very attentive to our needs. We got there and they knew already we needed a high chair, and to my surprise it was prepped already since I mentioned it in the booking details. We had such a nice experience!!! (Only comment probably is the tiramisu which had more of the cream than the actual coffee and biscuit. It tasted good, still.)
Visited this location tonight and it seems to have a place outside and another inside and then the restaurant. I really liked how you can see the chief's cooking away while you wait for your food. If you are after very tasty, delicious and proper cooking this is the place to go to and worth every pound. I had the lamb chops and they were divine and it was the right amount on the plate, not to much or too little and my husband had the pork and he really enjoyed it alot. I also had the perfect G&T it was called and it hit the spot. Over all this place was in a really nice location and the restaurant has a lovely relaxing feel and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Came across this restaurant by accident while wandering around trying to find somewhere with space late on a Friday night - and WOW what a find! I never usually write reviews but everything about this place was exceptional. Incredibly friendly staff, very attentive and provided great recommendations. We shared the tri tip steak which arrived pre-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries and veggies on the side were so tasty. Even the sauces we picked were delicious! The wine was top class. I already can't wait to come back!
Friendly service, v polite and mannerly. Definitely the standard all bar/restaurants should be at. Can’t complain one bit. Great outside area, beer garden has overhead canopy for when it rains and can be retracted when sun is out.
Great steaks. Yummy starters and desserts. Nice atmosphere and friendly professional staff.
We had the 3 course meal and must say the Food is unreal deffo 10/10. Enjoyed eveything from sat down until leaving. The staff are very friendly helpful and attentive. I definitely recommend this place to anyone by far
Was here last night with some friends for my birthday. One of the nicest steaks I've ate. Fillet which could have been cut with a spoon. I also tried a dollop of bone marrow butter on top of the lovely sauce was great. Will defo be back and highly recommend. Also get the breads and bits to start - very tasty and unusual! Special shoutout to Pedro who was great & couldn't do enough for us.
Visited here just a couple of days after lockdown lifted for bars and restaurants. Staff were good with the new all table service system. To eat, we had the sharing chateaubriand steak which was nicely cooked. Love the bombay fries too.
A really lovely restaurant with some good veggie and vegan options. Friendly staff and good coffee with plant based milk available. Would recommend!
The meal was very good. I had a 1kg piece, very juicy and perfect spices. Service was good, I loved it very.
Very nice restaurant at Bullitt Hotel. Great service and atmosphere, and can head to bar in the hotel lobby afterwards, which is a favourite
Doesn’t disappoint. Amazing T-bone steak and crispy fries with peppercorn sauce and bone marrow butter. Relaxing atmosphere and lovely staff.
Absolutely superb location, delicious food and lovely, friendly staff! Couldn't have wished for more! Thank you so much for everything!
This is without doubt the best steak I have had in an age. If you get the chance to visit i highly recommend! The bone marrow butter and burnt onion cream are stand out 👌
Good food, good service, and a great atmosphere. Me and my partner had a really nice time.
Excellent steak, perfectly cooked with charming and attentive service. Starers and desserts slightly quirky with inventive flair. Highly recommended. It on the expensive side, but worth every penny. You get what you pay for.
Wow 🤩 stunning place. Food was fantastic, best steak I've ate!
Amazing food, services, people’s 🙏🏼 all good, of course I’ll come back!
Steak is class! Pepper Sauce ..malbec Brocoli in butter and lemon? Who knows but amazing . Best meal in years. Also baked cheescake was unreal. Couldnt rate this higher but it was class Grainne
Great foodie experience second time round. Lovely atmosphere. Meats cooked on the open wood fire is outstanding flavor, staff are really friendly and informative on flood and drink service. Would highly recommend and will be back to try the share stakes selection.
I had eaten here in valentine's day night, i want to highlight an amazing member of the team who was on the front stand. I think his name may have been James, service was very slow and we where last couple to eat with my 'well done' steak being pink in the middle. Our waiter was darragh who didn't check on us once, had to order drinks off another member of staff. However although service was a let down the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing and food was all nice. The service was picked back up when James took a dessert and glass of wine aswell as the service charge of the bill as he was keeping an eye on us throughout the dinner and was giving frustrated with the service we where being provided. He really is the shining star and heart of the restaurant and although this wouldn't be the first place to return to on my list, James really improved our time within the establishment and i cannot thank him enough as we finally felt seen.
Absolutely wonderful. Amazing and very worth while to dine. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The ambience is so beautiful. The food top notch as you watch the chef team perform their work to perfection. Honestly, ask for James and he will set your expectations up to perfection.
Just perfect from start to finish. Excellent food Well presented Well cooked Menu well explained Quick service Staff were so pleasant and helpful. Thanks to miss donnelly who looked after our table. Nothing was a bother Ps. The WC were so clean and well kept. Not that I was checking 😁 Thank you. It’ll be top of the list. 👌
Enjoyed a quiet dinner here for our last night in Belfast. Enjoyed a delicious T-Bone steak. I would recommend the burnt onion sauce. The bone marrow butter sauce was flavourless. Service was good, food arrived fast and fresh off the grill. The atmosphere was exactly what we were after, nice and quiet, always nice to be able to enjoy dinner and talk while not having to compete with music or loud patrons.
The food was lovely. Not a lot of variety, steak and fish, which is fine by me I love steak. So if you like steak or fish definitely a great place to go. The steak I got was rump and honestly it was cooked to perfection, medium for me and medium rare for my friend. So tender and melt in the mouth, would definitely recommend. Also was nicely presented on the plate and your own wee dish for sauce. The layout is kind of strange, you go through an outdoor bar to an inner bar then into the restaurant which is open to the inner bar. Just a bit strange. The hosts and waiters/waitresses were brilliant, I forget her name, but our waitress was lovely and helpful when it came to ordering, good recommendations and knew her menu. The price was good for the quality of food. I got a starter, a main and a drink and it cost £37.50 each.
The food was good, we went for rump and ribeye - the quality of the food was very good but both "medium rare" were slightly overcooked - respectively "medium" and "medium well". Service was good, quite busy on a Saturday night so a bit slow.
The steak I got was definitely smaller than expected. I should have brought a scale with be to check, but it was a good steak. The onion sauce that came with it was so good, though low on salt than I would have liked. The padron peppers were good, but again low on salt. The cheesecake was honestly pretty bad, not good at all. It's good, certainly not great.
It’s just a constructive criticism. Vive & service “Fantastic” Needs a serious improvement on their bar snack. I’ve NEVER seen this bad fries in LIFE.
I hate leaving a negative review. I ordered the falafel smash burger. It arrived with no falafels and 2 meager patty's with what is best described as 2 pieces of shoe leather in between. I asked the waitress what they were. She gave me a funny look and said it was beef bacon. I can't confirm that as it was so tough, I could not chew it. Or taste it.
We went to this restaurant for lunch, and the sirloin steak they served us was exceptionally tough, nothing like sirloin at all. It's hard to imagine a £33 steak being so unpleasant. The fish, on the other hand, was delicious.
Sadly didn't live up to expectations.. staff super friendly.. steak was flavourless.. badly cooked and sides where underwhelming.. no seasoning on the meat at all.. such a shame as we had a great night. £19 service charge is bit excessive for 2 people .. Will give another go again in the future hopefully with better results
Avoid the steak. Way over-priced and way over-salted. Have had better steaks in other city centre restaurants at literally half the price. As for the chips, McDonald's do a better job. I've seen photos from other reviews and the chips are at least thick cut. We were served what could only be described as scraps - literally half of what you'd get elsewhere and you'd need a spoon to eat some of them. They really were that bad!!
For someone who has been to quite a number of restaurants in Belfast, this place is easily a miss! Struggled to locate the entrance because it is quite hidden, it was so noisy and the smoke from the grill filled the entire place. The food was awful! Never been to a place this bad. Funny how, my colleague visited and had the same experience. I do not recommend.
Sorry to write a bad review but feel I have to. I don't like writing negative reviews but if I owned the place, I would like to know. Service was very poor. We were forgotten about and had to get the attention of staff members multiple times for orders, drinks etc. They didn't have the T-Bone steak as they were all out. Same with one of the deserts. Food was just ok, steaks were good. Pie was burnt, chicken was very dry with just a small side order of chips. I have been here before and I was very impressed. I was looking forward to coming back but left very disappointed. Staff were not professional enough for the prices that are on the menu, sorry to say. An espresso martini was ordered but with no coffee beans on the top, have not seen that before, maybe i am wrong here.. Small details.. Party of 5, left disappointed.
