3 Decker Restaurant & Cafe Bergenfield Reviews
My wife and I had breakfast here ….excellent food California omelette was very delicious 🥰 Hungarian omelette so good …excellent service, we would like to invite all our friends to eat here .😋
Picked the ribs from the weekend lunch menu. Delicious and huge portions. Surpisingly sweet ribs. It has a nice calm atmosphere. Def somewhere that people go for a quiet meal. No complaints, thanks!
The food was so good and was brought to my table quickly. I love going here with my family and ordering a lot. The prices are amazing for the quality of the food. The best diner in manhatten!
It was such an awesome little breakfast spot, the food was delicious, and the service was absolutely exceptional. Susana was very accommodating and friendly. Our 4 year old girl didn't want to eat breakfast, but Susana decorated her waffle with whipped cream and strawberries in front of her that she actually ate most of it. This is definitely my new favorite breakfast restaurant. Highly recommended.
Classy style layout. Best Milkshake in NYC! Friendly atmosphere. Magical moment with memories. The kind of place you go back to. Highly appreciate & recommend!
Excellent breakfast for great price. I had the western omelet with whole grain toasts, my daughter had the Belgian Waffle with a generous side of bacon. All served with complimentary 4-ounce orange juice and coffee. Good service! I paid $22.00, tax and 18% tip included. My waiter was a Mexican (I think) guy (salt & pepper hair) who could not be sweeter or more attentive.
This place is so cute! My egg white omelette was delicious, and the coffee is actually quite good for diner coffee. Service was very attentive and quick, and I love the vibe — it felt like a blast from the past! I will definitely come here again. Great option if you’re looking for something simple or missing that classic diner feel.
3 Decker Diner on 91st & 2nd Ave is exactly what you want—and need—on a cold Upper East Side winter day! The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and my coffee cup was never empty (a true diner win ☕️). Breakfast was absolutely delicious, came out fast, and tasted like pure comfort. Everything ran like a well-oiled machine without ever feeling rushed. Warm, welcoming, and classic diner vibes done right. If you’re looking for great food, perfect service, and that cozy neighborhood diner feel, 3 Decker Diner delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be back! 🥞🍳👏
Great place with amazing prices. The meals are good and always fill me up, and this is the best priced diner in the upper east side that I’ve found so far. Highly recommended.
I've been going here for years with my sister, the food is always super delicious and the servers are sweet:)) Tops my favorite diner spot
Great service, delicious food, highly recommended!!
This is the best NYC diner! Delicious omelette and home made hash browns. Ingredients in omelette were plentiful. I’ve never had a better breakfast! Highly recommend. And reasonably priced 🏆
I have been coming to this diner with my son for years. The staff is friendly. The food is good and the prices are way better than any of the other Upper East Side diners. Love the fresh flowers on the table, and sometimes the owner serves vegetables from his garden. All good. :)
Our family had a late brunch on a hot, midweek afternoon and it could not have been better—a genuinely great NY diner. Poached eggs with bacon; omelette; pancakes. Everything was delicious, hearty, & servings generous. The service was wonderful—friendly and fast. And so reasonably priced. Can’t wait to visit again.
Diner/coffee shop one of the best places in NYC for reasonable prices, large portions, and fast service. Been eating here once every few weeks for more than 2 decades. Never a bad experience. There WAS a terrible waitress working there 6-12 months ago. Gone.
This little vintage place is a lovely find! We moved in the area and was surprised to find this little cozy eatery which reminds me of a vintage diner! Everything they cook is tasty and their prices are phenomenal! You could seat by the window and watch people go by, or the rain/snow coming down while you eat. The service is also pleasant and the waiters are always willing to make your order exactly as you’d like it! I like their Philly Steak as well as their burgers and their Greek chicken “souvlaki” pita sandwich tell them to make the pita well done if you decide to get the Souvlaki and add extra tzatziki ( yogurt garlic sauce) I highly recommend this place for a fast good choice of good old, comfort diner food! My husband and I enjoy it at least twice a month .Enjoy!☕️🫖🍩🧁🥗🥞🍳🍞🥯🥩🥚🍗🍔🥪🍟🥧🍰🧋🥤
I’ve been ordering food from Three Decker for years and I’ve always been satisfied. The woman who answered the phone did the kindest thing for me. I told her with my order I didn’t need anything but ketchup as I ran out of ketchup in my house. I told her my back was out & I had no energy to order from the supermarket as I was in a lot of pain. I ordered fish cakes with spaghetti, chicken & rice soup, a vanilla shake, french fries and strawberry shortcake. Everything came extremely fresh. For some reason most coffee shops don’t have strawberry shortcake anymore and I love their’s. I opened my delivery bag and got the surprise of my life – LOTS of ketchup. It was such a nice thing to do I called her up to thank her. They have a customer for life!
Great food at a reasonable price. I had the Mexican omelet and if you like spicy food this is for you. My daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes...light and fluffy.
Do you want a lamb chop, moist brisket or BBQ short ribs each for under $15 in northern-most section of the upper east side? Well look no further! This place is like a Denny’s or iHop on steroids. The menu is about 8 pages long and they serve everything from Mexican to Italian. The place comfortable and cozy, and the waiters know their customers by name. It’s been around for longer than most of its attendees and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Great spot! Great ambiance! Not a 5-star restaurant, but definitely worth coming to.
Nice little diner, close to where I was staying.
A classic NYC dinner. Nothing fancy but a reliable place to get a hearty breakfast and a few cups of coffee. One of the few places in the city not changing $20 for some eggs and bacon too. Bravo
Ordered a full meal with soup and dessert. It was a cold rainy day so I expected to wait and wait for the delivery. Surprise!!! The very nice gentleman on the phone said 10 - 15 minutes and sure enough, the food arrived just as he said. Don't know if it a hunger factor, but the meal was delicious. The soup was great and everything arrived piping hot. The cake was scrumptious. Very happy with the quality of the food and the service. Will do a repeat!
Great breakfast restaurant! Romero was a fantastic server & was attentive to not only my table, but others as well. I appreciated how he thought about giving water to the doggo outside. Got orange juice complimentary with our order. Simple and delicious diner food and prices are unbeatable!
Friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. They have an extensive menu and serve excessively large portions inexpensively. The food is acceptable, but not great. (I think if the menu variety and portions were less ambitious they could offer better quality. It's a tradeoff.)
Good cost-benefit and decent food. However, one of the waiters—a Latino man—was downright rude. When I mentioned this to the person who recommended the diner, they shrugged it off, saying, “Oh yeah, he’s a classic bad-mood NYC waiter,” as if being treated poorly is somehow part of the charm. It’s not. I won’t be returning. (For context: I’m Latino myself—Brazilian, to be specific—and we value great service, like what you'd typically find in São Paulo.)
A frequent stop on my trips to NYC from the UK. Affordable, decent diner food with - eccentric service, is a kind way to put it. Definitely a neighbourhood hangout for regulars. Breakfast menu is plentiful, filling and economical; lunch and dinner... not so much.
Pastrami and Swiss w/lettuce, tomatoes, mayo & mustard on rye toast 😋 & a pickle on the side ,so yummy! I didn't like the coleslaw though 🙄 and the CAKE slices!! 🤐 Let's just say, I won't order any dessert from here again. Cake was cold and veryyyyyy dry. Almost ,like it was old. I thought we'd have some in honor of my late sister's birthday 3/20/21. Wasn't a good move 👎
The service at the restaurant is horrible. The food is great so you have a choice to make. You just have to deal with old school bitter waiters and waitresses to get to the food. Once you get your meal there will be no service anyway so just enjoy it.
Their large size (16 ounces) cup of oatmeal is $7.00, including tax, to take out. It is decent and the consistency of it is often as it should be, soft and not watery. It is often bland, but that is common in diners unless you have it just after they open in the morning. I found that their decaffeinated coffee was inexcusably without taste. The diner is at the corner of 91st Street and 2nd Avenue.
The food was okay but the service was terrible. I went mid-day on Monday and they got my order wrong. When I pointed out there was no attempt to fix it. The waitress didn't return to my table to refill my coffee or my water. I had to grab ketchup from another table. The final straw was when I finally got my waitress's attention and asked for another jelly she took the jelly from the table she was busing and gave it to me. Covered in Ketchup.
The pricing (overall) is great for this area of the Upper East Side. Though the food is mediocre when it comes to most of the dishes I've had. Which isn't too bad. I draw the line at spoiled food. Which is what they gave me. I ordered a breakfast plate, and the home fries both smelled and tasted sour. Unsanitary. While the service here is attentive (mostly) be warned that the food isn't all that great and you run the risk of it being spoiled.
I don't know guys. the ambiance was great with great window seating but the waitress was just not very attentive. We sat down without menus, one waitress came and asked if we were ready. No? Then she was serving us while she was on the phone. She just didn't gave a f.
When I entered the place the younger woman was pleasant. Then the service went downhill. The older woman asked me what I wanted without giving me the menu. When she brought the menu to the table she threw it down on the opposite side of the table She gave no eye contact it was very abrupt. The very disconcerting and unsanitary situation occurred when this very same woman sneezed twice without covering and coughing behind the counter. I did not leave a tip poor very poor service. When I returned to the hotel where I am staying I reported the entire situation to the staff member. This restaurant is not on their list of restaurants to go to when in their hotel
I have been going to this place for years and I have turned a blind eye to the mediocre service and "ok" food since the prices were fairly reasonable. You get what you pay for definitely applies to this diner. Today though was definitely the last time I will ever eat there. Not only did my waiter(Bald supervisor) take forever to come back to my table, but I watched him answer the phone, write up receipts, shuffle through bagels like a box of legos and cut strawberries all with his bare hands. To top it off I was checked out by another waitress because he was "too busy" and she made a mistake and undercharged by $2.45 cents. Not only did Mr. Bald guy stop me from leaving over this minor difference in the price(keep in mind I have been going here for years and I always tip generously), he had me pay the $2.45 with my debit card lol. You see I don't care about the 2.45. It's the principle. I'm a good customer for years and I always take care of the waiter or waitress. The mistake was on their part and he couldn't let it go despite his poor service and lack of hygiene.
Super slow had to ask for the check over 3 times. Also I saw many waiters rolling their eyes and other rude gestures to customers behind their back. I got a bagel with cream cheese and lox it had way too much lox and not enough cream cheese and the cream cheese was very dry and nasty. The place was pretty cute but it just felt like a hostile environment because of all the other things. I wouldn’t recommend going here
Absolutely unacceptable experience. The waiter – a Spanish man – was blatantly racist toward white customers. He raised his voice at us for no reason, treated us with clear disrespect, and made it obvious we weren’t welcome. The food was just as bad. The steak came undercooked, with a hair on the plate. Disgusting. When we pointed it out, he didn’t even apologize. The whole experience was toxic, unprofessional, and disrespectful from start to finish. If you want decent food and basic respect, avoid this place at all costs. Never again.
Worst omelette ever! I ordered a blue cheese omelette. What came was so brown that I sent it back. The replacement came and somehow, it still was brown on the outside but completely soupy on the inside. To make things worse, the replacement was American cheese. I ate the toast, potatoes, and sausage, paid my check and left. I won't eat there again. The cook should be fired.
Got a sausage, egg and cheese with jalapeño peppers two of them pay $24 including tax and they gave me a roasted bell pepper midnight express diner is better quality, and a dollar or two cheaper
I am all about supporting small businesses but this one I will no longer support. Not only is the food not that great for the $ but the owner always double parks in his big red Yukon on 91st and side swiped my car last week. I showed him video proof of him pulling off my front bumper and he will not take responsibility for his actions. He told me to sue him. Watch out for the big red truck and take your money elsewhere!
Terrible service, I asked if they had hash browns and the lady said yes. So I placed my order, I got home fries, under cook eggs and not really crispy bacon. I told her that I ordered hash... she says we don’t have that :-/ One thing is not cooking things as requested, I can deal with that. Another is giving me whatever you feel like and not what I Want to eat.
Never again! Ordered fried chicken tenders as we see them taken out of the microwave and serve them to us. Waitress said they fried them first and then they put them in the microwave. Why?! Then we ordered a Welch’s grape juice in a bottle and it expired in 2019. How could they not check the expiration of the products they sell? Disgusted!
The most bland food in the city. I saw not 1 but 2 cockroaches on the wall and on the neighboring table. Not to mention, extremely racist atmosphere! Overheard a customer saying a racial slur and the waiter was laughing. Do not recommend this place at all!
absolutely couldnt believe my eyes when i saw them dunk the drinking cups into a bucket they had rags in and use those same cups to reuse for the customers! it all made sense as to why i smelled chemicals drinking my water!!!!! below one star rating. how is this okay?!
One of the waitresses ate one of my fries from my plate in front of me and then charged me more than the usual price and didn’t even excuse herself. A different time, one of the waiters went through my friends belongings when she was in the bathroom and thought it was funny. That same waiter grabbed my friend’s arm against her will which was very inappropriate behavior for a waiter. Their food is always very greasy and does not taste very good. U do not recommend this diner.
The worst egg benedict I had in my whole life! Watery and vinegary. My husband ordered the Hebrew omelet with feta cheese and he found pieces of salmon in it. Not expecting it, he almost threw up. Worst breakfast experience ever.
All the food I had tasted like it was boiled in hot water. All the food was bland, cheap and not worth the money. They should be ashamed of themselves. Where did this 4.0 rating come from?
Average food. However my wife couldn't finish hers so she had it wrapped up. I then noticed on the check I was charged 50 cents for the container. I told the waiter and he took it back, threw it out and took it off the check. We eat out 6 dinners a week and 6 lunches a week. I have never had anything like this. What did the place gain besides losing a customer. I will never go back.
My family eat out every weekend for breakfast or lunch. We stopped going to this place years ago despite the lower price due to poor service. A couple of waitresses there have serious issues. Eating out should be stress-free. Not here.
