I've been going to Beta Lounge since they opened back in 2009. I usually go for the beer, and they have a great beer selection there. Their food is also really good, and much better than your standard bar food. One of the things I really like about going here is that it's usually not too loud, and you don't get as many rowdy folks that some of the other bars in the area get since the quality of the alcohol is higher (which does mean that it's a little more expensive). Definitely my favorite watering hole in Berkeley!

My wife and I came here yesterday. It's a combination of relaxed, chill, and good vibes. The staff was friendly and very helpful. A great place to go if you want to relax on a couch or sit at a table with friends. We are from Chicago and are here for the weekend visiting. Recommend to people in 20s-30s who want a non-college setting.

Recommend if you need a spot to stop and meet folks. Great music was playing in the background. Nice combo of all of the above and not too crowded.

First visit and I enjoyed this lounge. Indoor outdoor seating. Chill vibes. Great service. Could use another bartender but Lovely drinks. Great location. Parking could be a challenge.

Top shelf experience!!! Amazing food that will make u drool like a salivating puppy. Ive had the flat bread pizza and the tacos and they were AMAZIN!!!! Every time the chef brings out a plate of food, I look over telling myself I’m ordering that next time. As far as the drinks…. Literally anything and everything can be crafted. Leaving you well hydrated and feeling better than ever. Though Jesse (bartender) is originally from Pennsylvania , he’s adopted the love for bay area sports and makes sure games are always played on the TV’s. Nice comfy lounge seating to make u feel right at home. Such a great place to take someone on a date, catch up with old friends, or meet new friends.

Takeout during covid. Delicious food. Easy, navigable website. Highly recommend. L Love that the proceeds go directly to the local business, that also means fewer "fees" like a lot of other restaurants delivering. You can also buy a homeless person a meal. This is an important bar for our neighborhood.

Cozy & low key lounge with a great cocktail menu. Stopped by for some drinks with a group of friends while waiting to get seated at nearby Great China. Glad to stumble upon this corner bar. Had the Garden Gimlet with gin--well made & refreshing! Bartender was friendly & welcoming. Left in a hurry & forgot my scarf, but they kept it for me as i later retrieved it. Will definitely be back for HH.

I almost don't want to post this because I'm worried people might start going here! This is probably my most frequently visited bar in Berkeley: I end up here about once a week. It's usually quiet, they have a good beer selection, make good cocktails, and their food is surprisingly good.

Great little cocktail lounge off Shattuck in downtown Berkeley. Excellent service and friendly people. Food was surprisingly good. And the bartender made some great drinks. Passed by it for so many years and finally checked it out. Glad I did. Will visit again.

One bartender said he mistakenly gave my credit card to a customer he knew and promised to help me find it back. However, they never tried to contact me after that, and it's been almost one week and I have called them three times, still didn't have my card back. I think it's not an "honest mistake" as they said, but more like a fraud. I'll never go to this place again, and I have to remind all the new customers to be careful about your card when trying this place... if you still want to
