Excellent Burmese food without a long weight like you always get at Burma superstar. The people who are extremely helpful and friendly and do not try to rush you out like they do at Burma superstar. This is the place to go if you’re looking for Burmese food in the East Bay.
I came at a weird time so I was the only person there for most of my meal. The food was delicious and came really quickly. I love how many vegan options they had. I had the yellow tofu and tea leaf salad and the flavors and textures were perfect. I will definitely be coming again!
Delicious meal for the adults and our picky toddlers, too. Standouts were the dry curry beef, coconut curry soup, and tea leaf salad.
Awesome burmese food, very reasonable prices and really delicious food! I recommend the burmese style lamb curry with palatha and the sesame chicken and tea lead salad!! The palatha and curry were my favorite

Amazing food! Hands down one of the Best places.
Insanely delicious. I wish they had something like this in Reno
Delicious from start to finish. We had eight guests for dinner and every single dish was good. I feel lucky that B Berkeley is in our neighborhood.
Burma Berkeley replaced Royal Rangoon in this location about a month or two ago. Our group went there on a Saturday about 5pm. We ordered Mint Jalapeños Chicken, Burmese Lamb Curry, Fried Rice, Tea Leaf Salad, Coconut Rice, Burmese Garlic Noodles w/ Veggies and Chicken, Eggplant w/shrimp, Lettuce Wraps, Samosas. We all agreed that the meal was incredible. All of the dishes were so delicious. Service was wonderful and the staff was very attentive. No photos because I was too busy eating:)
This has become our go to restaurant for weeknight dinners. The food is great value for money and is very delicious. We hope they do well and thrive in Berkeley.
Amazing Burmese cuisine. Their pumpkin-shrimp plate is great. I’d recommend the dry mango chicken with a side of coconut rice. Waiters are great and friendly. Kind of a bustling at times so be mindful of when you come. But the taste of the cuisine will take over whatever’s disturbing you.
Just finished an incredible meal at Burma Berkeley. I love this place! I’m so happy they replaced the previous Burmese spot (Burma Berkeley is way better). I ordered the Basil and Dried Chili Swai (fish) with Coconut Rice and honestly, it felt like the perfect meal. Flavorful and delicious. I’ll be back soon!
Came here for lunch. So many options, all of them very good but the eggplant shrimp was a standout winner.
Great food and friendly service! The pumpkin curry and tofu lettuce wraps are two standouts. Cozy atmosphere as well. Highly recommend paying them a visit!
My husband and I had a lovely lunch here. The food was incredible and well priced, and the service was excellent. Granted, we have only had two other Burmese restaurants, but with that in mind, this is the best Burmese food we’ve had.
This was my first time here and we will definitely be back! Everything was delicious and the service was beyond exceptional. We loved tea salad, shrimp fried rice and mango chicken. Do yourself a favor and order mint lemonade!!😋😋😋😋
Every dish was delicious. The lamb with onions, peppers 🌶 and garlic was amazing. We also ordered a bunch of crispy flaky flat bread, Palata. Pork curry, which had an amazing flavor with coconut rice. Definitely a good night full of so much flavor. Will be back for sure. We were too stuffed for dessert.
As an out of town visitor and having already been to Burma Superstar (which we enjoyed), we were very pleased with our weeknight experience here. Come for the food and the lovely service, not the decor or the trendy vibe. It’s quiet and doesn’t have the hive feeling at busier restaurants. Plus no wait like at Burma Superstar whose established reputation precedes it. We ordered the mango salad (extremely fresh, impeccably dressed and crunchy with half romaine and half cabbage), a very delicately flavored and tender lemongrass chicken with plenty of veg, and the Burma! Burma! noodles which were savory and deliciously but not overbearingly oily. The staff was so courteous and happy to offer explanations of the menu. Restaurants like this are often overlooked when they don’t have as much of a social media presence as other restaurants with savvier marketing. Don’t miss this one!
Really good mohinga! Good coconut chicken noodle soup (oh no kao swei) as well. It’s like home cooking. The Rainbow salad needed more tamarind sauce, but good portions and lots of noodle variety. I ordered to go so I can’t speak to dining in. Seemed like nice atmosphere though!
Easy-going authentic little restaurant with great food! Everything we had was very tasty. Good portions and in general very good value for the money.
Tea leaf salad was excellent! Also the pumpkin curry and Burmese lamb curry that I ordered- the coconut rice was also extra yummy. I’ll be back!

We loved the chilli beef dish, the meat was cooked to perfection! (Not too chewy/soft and not too tough). The garlic noodles could have used a lil bit more sauce or garlic-ness, but still good. Also, the non-alcoholic drinks were handsdown fantastic and well priced!
Service was attentive, food came fast. Portions were generous. We had parata with lamb curry (delicious, flaky bread! Flavorful curry!) Tea leaf salad, fresh and crunchy Mohinga- creamy and fishy in the best way Fried chicken- GF! And topped with all of the fun fruits and veggies. I might ask for the sweet chili sauce on the side just cuz I’m not a huge fan sweet sauce. Dry curry Swai- delicious! I don’t know why I loved it, but we did! Burmese pork curry, also delicious and saucy! Coconut rice- SO GOOD WITH EVERYTHING!!!! Purple sticky rice with ice cream- rice was lovely and nutty and not too sweet! Order the vanilla ice cream. The mango ice cream was a little too artificial.

Good food good service. Tea leaf salad tasted great. Noodle dish was a little bit mushy but the flavor was good. Service was fast and friendly. Dining room med expectations. Convenient curbside parking outside.

had a wonderful meal at this new Burmese restaurant in Berkeley! We had the tea leaf salad and samosa salad. Both were great but we are partial to the tea leaf salad. would recommend this place and can't wait to come back to try more!
Ordered the Rainbow Salad and Tea Salad to go (they’ve been opened for a week so no one was inside. Which is a bummer to see for a new restaurant. They took over the old Royal Rangoon spot). My Rainbow Salad was disappointing. I got the tiniest amount of what was supposed to be 3 different kinds of noodles? I got like maybe two strands of each and then mostly vermicelli. And then the saddest part was it was alllllll cabbage after. The tea salad was good, but like if you’re a legit Burmese restaurant, you really shouldn’t mess that up. Also way more cabbage than I would have wanted. This is a cabbage centered place. To the restaurant: if you can, include more noodles and less cabbage or ask the patron before putting in the order.
