Las Cabanas Berkeley Reviews
Ok. Maybe the power of expectations. I always get the grilled Baja fish taco. Whenever, wherever I get a fried Baja fish taco I have high hopes that invariably get let down. Here, when I order the grilled fish taco I kinda have a bit of, Ok, a healthy order and then I take one look, one bite, and I am so happy! This is a delicious, well made, generously portioned taco. The photo may say it all.
Yum :) i like to go here it's close to my house and they're nice
Service is great. The ladies at the front helped us navigate the menu. The nachos are incredible. We ordered the Super Nachos and loved them. Definitely recommend.
A absolutely wonderful experience all around. Accomadating for wheelchair accessibility as well. Ordered DoorDash from here many times. Love the food so much we paid for the extra non dash pass cost since my home is just slightly out of range for dash pass. Well worth it!!! Came to the restaurant for the first time tonight. Loved the service and atmosphere. And food is even better in person which is honestly hard to beat! Will definitely be back and and highly suggest to others!
Everytime I come here I always have a delicious meal. The food is very fresh and well made! I'm a regular here. Extra plus that it's open late!
This establishment offers a truly wonderful and welcoming environment for family dining. The culinary creations are absolutely amazing, complementing the friendly service perfectly. Patrons can also enjoy music that resonates deeply with the soul. It is a place where delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere harmoniously combine. You will undoubtedly find it a delightful experience for everyone.
Went with my friends for a late night outing. They are a bit pricey, but the fish and shrimp tacos here were delicious! Very generous amount of filling. The pina agua fresca was delicious and not overly sweet, and a large drink is huge enough to share for 2 people. Friends got the menudo soup and al pastor burrito bowl, and both liked them. Would come back to try their birria :)
My family and I decided we didn't want to cook so we ordered some take out delivery food. We couldn't decide for the longest time and finally I put my foot down and ordered Mexican food since we haven't had any mexican food for a long time. We ended up ordering from Las Cabañas Mexican grill since it was a new place we haven't tried, and we used a promo from Uber eats to get free tacos. We ordered super nachos with steak, regular burrito with carnitas, steak fries nachos with steak, wet burrito with Carne al pastor, and super tacos with beef birria. The super nachos were good, but I felt there wasn't enough cheese, and the steak pieces were a bit dry and chewy, but the tortillas, beans, and sauces were really tasty. The regular burrito had lots of meat in it, and the rice was well cooked and seasoned really well. The entire burrito was delicious and very filling. The steak fries nachos were surprisingly good, but again, it kind of was skimpy on cheese, and the steak pieces were dry and chewy, but the sauces and other toppings were good. The wet burrito was huge and filled with lots of meat and well seasoned rice. The guacamole was chunky and super delicious. The beans and other filings were also delicious and added a really good mix of flavors and texture. I really loved the red sauce that was all over the burrito. It had a smoky flavor with just the right amount of seasoning and mild heat. I think the star of the show was the free super tacos. The corn tortilla had a nice texture and held up really well to all the ingredients that were put on it. The beef birria was super delicious with so much flavor and juicyness that it was just dripping out. It was finger licking GOOD! The added bonus to tie everything together were the guacamole, Pico de Gallo, fresh tomatoes, and sour cream.. mmmm, mmmmm, delicious! My mouth is just watering thinking about those tacos. Overall, it's a great place to try if you haven't. This is one of my new top Mexican spots for now and will be ordering again in the near future.
Honestly not the best not sure where the great reviews came from. I ordered a carnitas taco, chips with guac and salsa, and mineral water which totaled to 23 dollars. The chips were not homemade and were served cold, the salsa that accompanied it was average and inoffensive. The carnitas taco had flavorful meat and it was juicy but the tortilla was subpar and had an off sweet taste. Overall, I think the food was extremely overpriced and you’re better off going to any other Mexican place. I would not go again. However, I will say the service was good and people were kind.
I love this restaurant and have been a frequent customer for years. The food is delicious, but their prices are going up a LOT! They're charging almost $13 for a small side of rice and beans- that's crazy! A drink is now $7! The price of tacos has gone up, too. I love this place, but eeek, it's starting to get pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants in town.
We ordered two burritos one California super and one super. The guacamole was basically just big chunks of avocado with nothing else and chips tasted like cardboard. The burritos were cold, I mean the cheese was ice cold. There was no salt or seasoning, and the meat was rubbery. There was foil wrapped into the super burrito. The burrito was 90% tortilla, rice, and cold cheese; they didn’t even get the beans I ordered right to start with. The other toppings were spread like a scavenger hunt. My stomach felt bad half way through and we had to bail.
