Toss Noodle Bar Berkeley Reviews
Everyday food!! I can take.. The best Noodles in Berkeley Downtown.
Did not expect to like this place so much, but it is actually addicting. The noodles are delicious, the sauce is great (Thai sauce), and it’s ready really fast. Located right next to UC. Parking may or may not be tricky. So worth it if your in the area.
Outstanding food, friendly staff, quick service. The thai tea is amazing. My older brother is a regular and always gets the same order, thin rice with Chinese sauce and chicken, no onions. The atmosphere is cozy; there’s usually seats open as well.
When I stepped into this Restaurant it was obviously a Local Favorite. I was greeted with outstanding customer service. I have eaten out at many places and food is very important to me as well as customer care. Ploy is very kind, hard working and was ultimately an amazing host. Whrn I got out I seek not only great food yet great people. And Toss was obviously a new favorite for me. I will continue to come for the Cream Cheese Foam Iced Coffee and my new favorite Toss Noodle fix. Thank you Ploy and Toss for bringing together a atmosphere that I see many enjoy.
Get exactly what you want, fast and a good value. The staff was friendly and patient as several in our group figured out what to order. Flavors pop and the vegetables were good. Multiple choices for what kind of noodles. My father in law, who was born in China, was happy with the food and will go again now that he knows it's there. I feel that the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. I tried the strawberry lemonade and I recommend it. Sweet and tart. We'll go again.
Food is FRESH and CONSISTENT. I love this place so much. I recommend everything on their menu. I'm amazed how they hit the mark every time. Food is ALWAYS FRESH! I eat here once a week because of how good it is... even on a busy day when parking can be hard to find... I will still come here to savor their noodles, fried rice and soups. Portion sizes are fair and enough. Their prices have slightly risen but it's worth it 100%. I want this business to stay in business and not change a thing. The indoor eating area is very nice and all the servers are very welcoming and nice, some of the best. I recommend this place to everyone and get excited when I can bring a friend or family member here for the first time; everyone enjoys it.
I don’t always visit Berkeley, but when I do, I make sure to stop by Toss Noodles.!This place is so good! The location has a really chill vibe for anyone, whether you’re eating by yourself or with someone. 10/10 recommend this place, will visit again when I get a chance to travel to Berkeley.
I love Toss. Their house garlic noodles with Malay sauce is a must. I get it with tofu and my friend and I share it every time. Portions are huge, perfect for sharing. Their Thai tea is great too, just the right amount of sweetness. I like their raised platform and little tables too, it’s a fun seating area. The service is quick and nice. However, the atmosphere leaves a little something to be desired. The smell particularly. I’m not sure if they can help it, but the smell of the bathroom is strong, and overall is unpleasant. I love toss and come about every other week.
Been here before but way back about 5 years ago but the taste is still here. Tried their build your own noodle bowl and it was delicious. The girl who was helping us was super helpful, friendly, and informative. Knowing well she saw us confused and needed some guidance on the menu. Not very spacious place but it wasn’t busy when I visited so there was plenty of seating! Food came out quick and portion was bigger than anticipated. Worth coming if you’re starving for some hot soup on a cold Berkeley day.
I’ve been coming here for years! And honestly I can’t imagine my life without toss noodles!! It’s the yummiest comfort food, with so many options, I’m never bored. If the budget allowed it, I’d be here everyday. Highly recommend to anyone, with a strong warning that you may become addicted! Enjoy!
Aptly named! This is a great place to customize Asian food to your liking! They have great options. We tried the wok tossed white fried rice with tofu in Thai spicy sauce. It tasted yum! Was super hot, the ingredients tasted fresh, the veggies still had a nice bite/crunch to them.. the tofu was soft and seasoned well. The portion size was great too! Amazing place for a quick and hearty meal.
I absolutely love Toss. I get the Hokkien noodles with Thai (Spicy) and Japanese (Sweet) sauce with Chicken and I recommend it so much. The sweet and spicy combination is sooo good. This is the only thing I ever get, so I’m not too sure about the rest of the menu. About $20 for a meal and drink
Ample veggie options. Quick service, good food. We didn't have to wait for seating. Ordered and got the food within ten minutes. The servers were nice and friendly, they were able to suggest alternatives for dietary restrictions. I'd like to go again and try some other items on the menu.
Great place to eat noddles if you are gluten free. The ambience is relaxing, food has good size and it is close to BART station. Enough space between tables and additional space to sit around the place. Service was fast. Bathroom is clean. I like the rice noodles and the Japanese sauce.
the eats: hokkien noodles, Chinese sauce, tofu this is a must visit! I love the mix-and-match style ordering - this makes my brain want to try and order every combination. the noodles were thick and flavorful - and while I initially thought the portion size was a bit small for the price, it was very filling! the Chinese sauce is not too spicy (I ended up putting in a lot of siracha-) but is a little fishy - I usually cannot handle fishy tates, but this was surprisingly good! these noodles were solid, comfy, delicious, and satisfying
Solid noodle spot in berkeley. Fast food style setup with a build your own rice and noodle menu. Vegetarian options but when getting a veggie option with the soup bases, the broth is almost tasteless. There are no sauces except for sriracha on the condiment counter . The Thai sauce is good in the stir fry options
If you care about good service attitude and principle and not getting discriminated against, avoid this place at all cost. I saw three other customers getting to-go box free of charge and but the lady at the cashier charged me $0.25 for a to-go box. When I walked up to confront her why she only charged me for the to-go box she said the other cashier is new and may have forgotten to charge but even if that is the case she did not walk up to the other customers (they are still in the restaurant) to charge them. She also said there is a sign for it but it’s not anywhere. Then she said it’s because they painted the wall so they forgot to put it on. She then said it’s a city rule to charge to-go box and when I asked her to show me the proof that city required them to charge, she cannot give me any. Basically the whole time she was just trying to come up with all kinds of excuses to justify charging me only. If you cannot enforce rules consistently, but rather pick and choose who to charge and who not to, don’t set up such rules! The argument lasted 5 minutes and at the end only when my husband intervened she asked “oh so what you just want your 25 cents back?” Which also feels sexist that she did not offer me that the whole 5 minutes. AND The whole idea is about the PRINCIPLE. As if we cannot pay $0.25 after paying $20 for a meal. We told her it’s not worth losing your customer over this and she said “customers are not always right” and shrugged at us.
The place smelled really weird. Also, the girl at Cashier named Hannah was very rude. She didn’t explain what this restaurant was (I’m a new customer) and when I asked if they sold Ramen noodle soups (there was no menu so I didn’t know what to order, I only saw pictures) she said “no this is a Thai place” no eye contact and got distracted with something else beside to her. I was still there waiting because who on earth does that…she wasn’t looking at her surroundings. Keep in mind it wasn’t busy. She then took someone else’s order and took forever to get back. I then asked her again if she could guide me through the menu because it was a confusing “build your own” and I wasn’t sure what was included in it. She simply said “you could read” and I wasn’t sure very shocked by her attitude because I was being very nice. She was very unhelpful and very unconcerned. This place needs new staff. Hannah was very rude. …last note: the food was literally burned. So yeah it wasn’t good and I asked for pork and Hannah gave me beef. I wasn’t not ever rude! They don’t like working here and the food quality is terrible.
Far from good laksa. The pork is like rubber and doesn't have any flavor to it, the veggies are raw and crunchy (who puts raw broccoli stems into soup???), the broth and thin. It's $18 or something, but I think it's really worth $6-7. The space itself is a-ok, the staff is really friendly and nice, but they should overhaul their kitchen.
