V&A Cafe Berkeley Reviews
I dropped my coffee and not only did they help me clean it up but they ended up offering me a new cup of coffee. Very very nice of them. I often come here before my class, which is a high stress time. The atmosphere and hospitality really helps me stay positive before walking into quizzes or dense lectures. The price of coffee here is pretty standard, maybe a little less than many other coffee shops. Would be great if they had more gluten free options, however.
Love this cafe bc it has a great selection of food, delicious French toast and chai latte
Coffee is decent, but the lunch stuff is always really good. I've had the euros and the sandwiches and they always turn out great.
A place which I particularly miss with slow jazz music in the background To focus on doing the daily work, besides great and various health food I don't know which to pick, or natural beverages brewed on demand, just like home. Great staff as well
I have the espresso milkshake literally every single day. if this place closed, i might have nothing left. thank you v&a for everything you do for me and the community.
Love this Cafe to study and eat between classes in. The roasted chicken panini is on another level of flavor and fills you up nicely. The salmon bagel was also quite tasty, and the salads (quinoa in particular) are also very good. The pastries are a bit pricey but very tasty.
Friendly and tasty. The result of the staff of Nefeli moving inside UCB's Etcheverry Hall, this cafe has the best coffee and prices of anything else on the North side of campus

Great customer service and nice area for a study spot. I was recommended the Roasted Chicken Panini and enjoyed it quite a lot. I did feel like it was a small portion for value, but I was starving. Would probably come here again because how near the Cafe is and the healthy food options!
The BLTA Panini was good, nothing special. They’re more on the pricey side. They have a large menu. A good spot to sit down and study in Berkeley. I will have to go back and try more. The customer service is decent.

Wonderful study/vibe spot, one of the few places so close to campus that you can often find a seat. Haven’t tried any food. The chai is always my comfort drink, but it’s more of a dessert than a tea.

Can't beat the location for a convenient study spot north of campus. If you nab a good seat, there are a few outlets to be used and a bathroom nearby in the Etcheverry building. The food is ok on average: some good, some bad; I'd avoid the "salads", unless you want to eat wilted greens. Spanakopita (spinach feta pie) is fairly good, especially when heated up. The bagels are nothing special. Cappuccino is quick and tastes alright. Don't expect to be wowed by the food and drink here. The service is good. Everyone was very nice, and when I study there for a while, someone usually comes by to take my finished dishes which is great when my mind is elsewhere. The cashier was sometimes preoccupied with managing orders, but I've never had to wait more than a minute or two to get my order in. The way the orders are done and announced is a bit confusing. I'm not sure if I should be standing waiting the whole time or wait to be called...? One time my number was called but my order wasn't done yet. Also the little slips of paper they put on your order fly around as soon as you touch your cup or plate which isn't great.
Music was a bit too loud, but that is ok it is very subjective. Food was ok, not bad nothing exceptional, tiny bit pricey. Uni wifi is fine, good study space. Staff was a bit rude. With tired attitude and rude "what u want" tone.
Everything about this place is mediocre. The coffee was less than average and the chocolate in the croissant was of inferior quality and taste. Since I don't like wasting food, I had to endure that awful chocolate croissant :/

Barista refused to tell me the WiFi password. Very loud music and slow, uncoordinated workers. They do make tasty smoothies though
Their hot chocolate sucks. It's watery and it has the barest hint of chocolate, and not sweet at all. It just tastes like water with a tiny bit of chocolate inside.

Horrible. Tried the coffee for the first time a couple days ago and it tasted burnt. The food was bland, a lot of the pastries are dry looking, like they’ve been sitting out for weeks. Just ordered a LARGE dirty chai tea and the lady charged me $5.00 for this small. I got 3 sips out of it. It’s the morning, now I’m out 5 dollars and not caffeinated properly for my next 2 classes. AVOID.

Has anyone experienced possible discriminatory and highly questionable pricing and/or up-charging at either of these campus cafe? Last year I went to V&A Cafe (in Etcheverry Hall) ordered a sandwich and was charged an additional fee. This was done by the owner who was at the register. There was no explanation and no signage explaining an additional fee. This past week I go into the other cafe in Stanley Hall. Order a sandwich to go for which I expected to also get a small side salad that comes with it. However, I was told that there will be an additional fee. There was no explanation and no signage explaining an additional fee. If anyone else has experienced this, then please reply. Thank you!
Horrid. Please go to other cafes in the area, this location has provided so many incorrect orders, while boasting it is the correct order. Coffee quality is so low as well.
Egg salad sandwich has shells in it. Not consistent in keeping tuna sandwich. Every time they mess up my order sequence- people buying after me get their coffee before me.
The place is currently closed but shows as open. I paid and placed an order through Snackpass, but I never received my food or a refund.
