Pupfish Cafe Bishop Reviews
Delicious food for a fair price, served up in a cute lil cafe run by very sweet, passionate folks. Pupfish Cafe is kinda embedded into a book store, so you can enter straight from there after parking on the side of the building or enter through the back door which has a parking lot right outside of it. I ordered the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and I added salmon (for extra $), and it was very good. They legit gave me an entire avocado-worth of slices, which was more than enough. Three people in my group got the waffle sandwich and absolutely loved it. One complained about the syrup embedded into the waffle being too sweet. The other in my group ordered the tuna melt which was loaded with cheese and had a small salad on the side—they also enjoyed it. There is a restroom inside of the book store, which customers of the restaurant are allowed to use. Food definitely 5/5 and friendly service with self-serving water and additions for coffee at a station near the seating area = 5/5 for service. Atmosphere was a neatly decorated, modern cafe so also 5/5. Definitely stop here for great food and a nice vibe!
Delicious breakfast with hot coffee. We stopped by at this cafe on our way from Death Valley NP to Lake Tahoe by Hwy395. The cafe can be accessed through backside gate. Stop by for some hot beverage.
We came all the way from Mammoth Lakes to get some healthy breakfast! Delicious food and enough flexibility to build your own plate! Definitely a thumbs up!
My husband and I had lunch at Pupfish, our daughter Reccommend it. It’s not a place you will see from the street. It’s small and in a parking lot but has good food. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which was very good, it also comes with a small salad. My husband had the turkey sandwich, he really enjoyed it. They have a couple tables outside and about 6 inside, small but quant. The restaurant has a doorway inside that goes right into a library.
Great place for healthier breakfast options. Paleo salad is great, add some eggs or salmon for complete meal. Salmon toast is pretty good too, but I thought that paleo salad had more flavour.
What a great spot! The breakfast egg panini was delicious. And the waffle you can’t miss. Even the coffee was amazing. The employees were so kind and there’s a nice area to sit outside in the back. Definitely stop by if you’re in Bishop!
Had a portobello panini and a soy milk mocha. One of the best panini and mocha I've ever had. Very friendly people, has Wi-Fi, just behind a bookstore - all the characteristics of a great cafe! Veggie/vegan friendly.
The food was excellent. We ordered two teas, a salmon toast, and a Nutella toast. The salmon toast was incredible – I haven’t had such delicious salmon and this kind of combination in a long time. The atmosphere and the café itself were just perfect. It’s a great spot for breakfast or lunch.
I stopped by here for breakfast on my way to Mammoth due to the high reviews. OMG the breakfast waffle sandwich is amazing. The latte is also top notch quality. Very friendly staff! Now I'll have to stop by more often.
This café is The reason I love supporting local businesses. The food was amazing, The drinks were even better! It’s a bit cozy inside, but the service was amazing nonetheless! Will be making this one of our pitstops whenever we are in town.
Absolutely delicious and healthy choices. Nice people working here. Inside outside seating and behind a bookstore! Could you ask for more?
I'll eat at this restaurant every time I visit Bishop. The food is fresh, healthy, and delicious! My only suggestion is for the side salad to have a bit more texture.
Hot off the trail I was looking for a morning to relax and read. Picked up a book in the attached store - Spellbinder - then got the breakfast waffle sandwich specialty and coffee. Stupidly delicious treat, nearly ordered 3 more. Super friendly staff offered free coffee refills of a cup that cost 2.50... that's unheard of in most places. I read in peace for hours and would do it all again, what a gem!
had the most amazing healthy breakfast here. the Norwegian avocado toast with an extra egg was fantastic. Coffee - even Starbucks don't make such an awesome Latte.

Nice coffee joint at back of bookstore. They made me a nice cappuccino. Will return next time we're in Owens valley
The staff was friendly and nice. The food was good as was the atmosphere. Nice little coffee shop and eatery attached to a great little bookstore. My wife had the vegetarian Quiche and I had the turkey provolone panini. Both were very good.
The food was delicious. We had quiche, tuna melt and breakfast waffle, everything was perfect. Cappuccino was delicious. The servers were very nice. They do get busy even on week days so be patient it’s worth it!!!
I love this unassuming breakfast lunch cafe in tge back of a very cool bookstore. Amazing foodie fresh foods. My go to stop on drive up 395 to get a fresh healthy tasty breakfast or lunch! And pick up a cool book or local art. Conveniently located near a charging station.
Great coffee and a healthy breakfast option with avocado and eggs. My son had the waffle with whipped cream. Friendly and quick service. Wasn’t crowded at 8:30 on a Saturday. Good vibes.

Cappuccino and tuna melt are amazing! A perfect stop along US Route 395. Cozy vibe and friendly service.
The Pupfish Cafe is located at the back of Spellbinder Books located along Mainstreet in Bishop, CA. The best way to enter is to turn on E Line Street and immediately turn south down an alley and park at the back where you can walk directly into the cafe. They mainly have grilled paninis, salads, and some breakfast options. The paninis are average size and reasonable prices and are good. Nothing fancy but the staff was friendly and the service is quick.
