Columns Wine Bar Broadway Reviews
The food at this Mediterranean seafood restaurant was absolutely amazing. Every dish was rich in flavor, beautifully plated, and clearly made with care. Chef Akins truly has blessed hands; he went above and beyond to accommodate every food allergy at our table and made sure each of us was happy, comfortable, and well fed. His attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The owner, Josh, also checked in on us personally, ensuring that the hospitality matched the quality of the food, which it absolutely did. The service was amazing, the food came out timely, and the ambiance was beautiful. Everything from start to finish was flavorful, thoughtful, and memorable. I can’t wait to return.
Dining at Columns was such a memorable experience. The dishes were vibrant, beautifully presented, and full of flavor; you could truly taste the creativity in every bite. What stood out most was how thoughtfully the kitchen accommodated our dietary restrictions (gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free) without sacrificing creativity or taste. Every plate was still rich, satisfying, and absolutely delicious. The service felt warm and attentive from start to finish, with a pace that allowed us to relax and enjoy the evening. The ambiance added a special charm that made the whole night feel elevated. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the thoughtful acknowledgment from the team made the celebration feel personal, heartfelt, and extra special. Columns gave us an experience we won’t forget, and we can’t wait to return.
This place is an incredible win for the neighborhood! It’s beautifully decorated with comfortable seating and a large bar. Sharing plates are perfectly sized and really fun, especially the different kinds of bruschetta you can mix and match. Stuffed dates are divine. I appreciate that despite it being a wine bar, you can also go there for a proper meal and order all types of other beverages (cocktails, mocktails, ciders, coffee).
I just discovered this place by casually cause I was staying very close… the ambience is super comfortable, there is lot of details around, the music a perfect volume, the black napkins, the columns, the colors, big space and big bar, great selection of wines and a great service. I would love to thanks the sommelier (Jhon) for being a great host and helping me with my blind tasting. Next time I'm back in NY I'll definitely stop by for a drink.
A pleasure. Everything was tasty!! A gorgeous setting. Perfect for our a date night or just dinner out solo or with family. Branzino, papayas bravas, salads. All yummy.
This new wine bar that just opened up in the area is absolutely stunning! We really needed a place like this around here. The space is spacious and beautifully designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere. They offer a great selection of wines, and the small bites are served well—though they’re almost more than just a bite, which is a nice surprise! I really loved the service and the overall ambiance, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some quality wine.
This restaurant/wine bar is spacious, bar is a decent size, there are many tables. There are large windows. You don’t feel cramped. It was somewhat busy on a Thursday night, but it wasn’t too loud - easy to carry out a conversation. Even if you don’t drink it is worth to come in for the food (especially if you are a vegetarian/pescatarian). All the dishes were elevated and worth their price. And the sommelier John is extremely knowledgeable. He actually has a degree in Enology and worked at the vineyards in New Zealand and Europe! My favorite wine was Lebanese red wine - very smooth and velvety. For the nourishment I tried marinated olives and bruschetta board. Excellent place!
Wonderful new restaurant in the neighborhood. Even though the space is large, it feels warm and inviting inside. The small plates served are delicious and filling - highly recommend the branzino, arancini (gluten free), crispy brussel sprouts, and bruschetta with brie and applebutter (it's to die for and can be made gluten free)! Their newer addition of weekend brunch has some wonderful gluten free options, too - highly recommend the buckwheat pancakes, and a side of the latkes with my all-time favorite spread, applebutter! They serve an expansive variety of wines as well as delicious cocktails and zero proof drink options. Very helpful and attentive bartender and servers.
Went twice this week - once for drinks & nibbles and once for brunch. Loved it!! The brunch griddle cakes were delicious. Excellent wine & cocktail selection. Many gluten free (celiac safe) options. Nice vibes, nice staff. It’s my new favorite uptown place. Will return. Highly recommend.
Amazing gluten free toast and arancini. Go for happy hour to try several things!

Fresh take on Mediterranean fare on the upper west side. The bar is spacious and the resident mixologist, Temo, is a proper delight. The drinks are inventive, the food is delicious (I recommend the tuna crudo, the hamachi—not pictured—and the pistachio pesto gnocchi).
Our server Nat T was so sweet!!! Such a lovely and warm gal. Us girls felt so welcomed. Got a free desert too ?? 10/10 recommend to ANYONE. Also they have lots of phenomenal gluten free options that are amazing and don’t even taste gluten free. Prices are accurate for portion sizes too. Go!!!
I loved this place!! Staff was so sweet especially our server and the manager (I think.) The highlight of the food was the brûlée French toast. But the atmosphere and vibe of the place was so cute!! Perfect little brunch spot - will definitely be back.
Absolutely love the food, the atmosphere and the drinks!! I had an amazing experience at the bar Hilary and Quinn took great care of me, walked me through the menu and all of the offerings. I got a chance to speak to Messiah one of the chefs there and his hands are blessed!! 10 out of 10 it gives authentic New York vibes and I promise you, you will be back for more than just the food!!
Celebrating my birthday at Columns was such a memorable experience. The food was outstanding, vibrant, beautifully presented, and full of bold flavor. You could truly taste the care and creativity in every dish. I was especially impressed by how seamlessly the kitchen accommodated our dietary restrictions (gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free) without sacrificing richness or taste. The cocktail selection was amazing! Thoughtfully crafted, perfectly balanced, and a standout part of the evening. Each drink felt intentional and elevated, making the celebration feel extra special. Service was warm, attentive, and paced just right, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. The ambiance added a cozy yet refined charm that made the night feel elevated and celebratory. To finish, the bread pudding dessert was incredible and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The team’s thoughtful acknowledgment of my birthday made the entire experience feel personal and heartfelt. Columns created a night I won’t forget, and I’m already looking forward to going back.

I'm always on the hunt for tasty gluten-free pancakes...and Columns Wine Bar serves it for brekkie! I had the Buckwheat Griddle Cake with apples / honey caramel-like butter. The pancake was light and fluffy sweetened by the apple topping. I still poured syrup all over lol! Others in my party had the Bruleed French Toast which looked amazing, and the toast & scramble. We all fought over the very tasty Patatas Bravas. Needless to say, we were quite happily stuffed. Who knew a wine bar can deliver delicious breakfast!
This was needed in the neighborhood. We are such a dead zone for higher quality dining. As of now, it’s quiet. An excellent mid week date spot that’s not chaotic and super chill. Service was spotty but I can only assume its newness is still a challenge to staff. The bites are solid. Ditto the adult beverages. The wine menu has yet to be explored but looks promising. Hoping their backyard will be equally impressive when it gets warmer. But most of all, I hope this cliques and stays the course with the stiffs in our neighborhood because I love & need options that’s walkable, Karen.
this is such a good brunch place on the upper west side, I’m so glad we stopped by on a rainy day, otherwise we would’ve missed out on an amazing brunch with extremely fluffy pancakes and this amazing eggs dish that reminds me of shakshuka
Almost a five star!! Will definitely return. Just not perfectly satisfied with the food. The waiter was so kind when we notified them a dish wasn’t great. The arancini and bruschetta are where it’s at though!!! And the Reisling was amazing.

This is a great addition to the neighborhood. Great food, creative dishes, lots of ,gluten free options, lovely atmosphere. The downside is that the waitstaff are not well trained. They just don’t know proper restaurant hospitality skills. Often they don’t know which menu offerings are available , have a laissez faire attitude and or stop by the table too frequently and interrupt conversation. Management : please train your bar staff and wait staff! If that improves you have five star restaurant.

The waitress/host was very friendly, but we ordered chai lattes and were told 10 minutes later they were out of chai. We ordered coffees and they were luke warm. We ordered eggs and potatoes and gluten free bread. About 15 minutes later we received our eggs and potatoes and they were cold. We were starving so we ate them anyway. Then we asked for the gf toast and were told they were out. Columns Wine Bar received rave reviews on the GF communities on Instagram. We were extremely disappointed and feel it was not worth the hassle to get their from NJ Penn Station. We will never recommend and never go back. Also, have stopped following on Instagram.
