Cozy Warm Super nice host :) Good hot chocolate (I usually don't like hot chocolate in restaurants, but I don't drink coffee and wanted something warm)

Great coffee and a wonderful atmosphere. The latte was perfectly balanced—rich and strong, not just milk with a hint of coffee. You can really taste the quality and care in every cup. A great spot to relax, catch up with friends or concentrate. Highly recommended! ☕️

Lived here 5 years ago and haven’t had coffee as good as here since then. Still the best we’ve ever had.

I love this little *just coffee* shop. The espresso is perfect, yes, perfect - mornings, afternoons and early evenings it’s perfect and the team consistently are kind, helpful, and timely. It’s quiet enough inside to think for a minute, maybe even read a bit, while enjoying your cup and they offer several dairy/non dairy options for “espresso with milk.” Your choices are: coffee or espresso, milk or no milk, ice, sugar, sweeteners, honey/agave. There are a few selective pastries- the shortbread looks beautiful but so far, I’ve just savored the espresso. Good to note - you pick the size cup. All options come with 2 shots of espresso. You cup size determines how much milk you want. Love this place so much.

A little oasis of a cafe in the alphabet city. Very quiet. The best and biggest shortbbread cookie I’ve seen. Beautiful greenery filling the large glass windows. This is a place that makes you want to write a haiku - even if you’ve never written one before.

Neighbourhood espresso bar with super nice warmth. You couldn’t tell it’s a local franchise. Very solid espresso! You can choose the amount of milk to pair with it. Hot chocolate is nice, not too sweet, a bit “under flavoured” if anything. They have baked goods procured from C&B (local bakery on 7th & Ave B). Laptop friendly. Although there were a ton of people working on their laptops, but a limited amount of tables (on a Saturday). Will definitely be back!

Might be the best cappuccino I’ve gotten in the city - great ambiance and neighborhood vibe. Laptops are allowed but there are no outlets / wifi. Would be a nice place to read / catch up with a friend.

A cute little spot settled across from a garden. The area is full of trees and is super relaxing. I got the cappuccino which was great. Bring your book and relax out front. My favorite part about this spot is everything chats with each other. It feels like a place where neighbors convene. A true gem!

I come here all the time. The vibe is good, the coffee and tea are good quality, and the staff is always really kind. I do wish there were more food options but I am very content with what they do offer. It’s always a pleasure to sit down with a drink and pastry and try to get some work done

I first knew Ninth Street when I visited their spot in Chelsea market. I was impressed by how consistent the barista performance was despite the tourist location. Since then I always try Ninth Street whenever I see one and each time the experience has been good. I like the subtle fruity and acidity in the espresso base, nice go solo or with milk. This is the original Ninth Street sitting in East village. There are two benches in front for outdoor seating. Sub-bathed, cozy and peaceful ambience.

The fastest wifi in the area in my observation. There's lots of sunlight which is delightful and the tables are decent for any purposes. Great coffee guaranteed and delicious bakery goods as well. Considering all these I just mentioned, you can imagine how competitive to secure a table for yourself here especially on weekends.

Great atmosphere, great latte and pastry options and super fast and friendly service! Wonderful choice of background music as well. Free WiFi but not so many outlets available to charge your devices however if you ask them, they will let you use one of their side of table ones!

Coffee was pretty good quality. They didn't have almond milk though, not sure if they ran out or only carry oat/soy. Good price though at $3 👍

Note to self – do NOT drink this coffee fast. This is some of the strongest coffee I’ve ever had and I was shaking within the hour. Great coffee, but it’s strong! Fairly priced.

Cozy and cute coffee shop with great cappuccino. Good for a sit-in if you have work to do or study. I gave it 4 stars only because of the music is too loud and can be distracting if you work inside. Not wheelchair accessible (3 deep steps) but has outside seating area.

Ninth Street Expression is a a landmark coffee join in Alphabet City. probably the first legit coffee shop in the ABC where quality and customer service come first as Starbucks and other large chains took over NYC’s coffee landscape. the interior is modern, welcoming, clean, and quiet-ish. there’s a good amount of seating and some benches right outside the entrance. i really enjoy the expresso in the past but have been more about the iced coffee for the past couple of years bc it’s smooth, light & flavorful, and has a nice even caffeine kick. the coffee program here is pretty simple but everything on it is done consistently and well. iced coffee will run you about $4 + tax + tip the staff is genuinely friendly and chill—reinforcing a fun relaxed atmosphere for coffee addicts.

Just really good simple coffee (though the oat milk wasn’t steamed very well). I like that they offer 9 oz (8 oz always feels too small and 12 oz dilutes the coffee taste too much- 10 oz would be ideal but a hey!, girl can dream). The maple shortbread cookie was good too- almost too sweet (almost). Service was fine. Coffee was made quickly, baristas weren’t too friendly. No WiFi/space for laptops

Coffee’s alright, solid, though the barista seemed a little clueless when I asked about what syrups they have (essentially just simple and chocolate sauce…). Worth flagging that there’s no WiFi, so don’t expect to do work here.

I had originally mentioned in my review that they no longer offer Wifi (previous reviews suggested they used to). It’s not a dealbreaker, but I think it’s a fairly common amenity and worth noting for those who are looking for it. The owner’s public response, however, was unexpectedly confrontational: "That you’d rate a coffee shop based on whether or not it offers wifi is ridiculous. We’re not a coworking space. Go to the library." Businesses can choose their atmosphere, but this kind of confrontational tone isn’t welcoming. Plenty of shops set boundaries without being dismissive, and Wifi can be useful for many reasons besides coworking. I prefer supporting cafes that are inclusive and communicate respectfully.
