The Bean Broadway Reviews
I love the coffee at this place, and the atmosphere is chill. There is always a table to park for a while while sipping one's brew. The place is popular and sometimes one has to be prepared for a bit of a wait.
The coffee is great and there's good place to work. Wifi runs for 2 hours since you login.
This place is great. Everything is super fresh. Service isn’t the quickest but everything is made fresh which I would prefer. Great for snacks. Smoothie was insanely good
This is one of my favorite spots to read and get work done. There's plenty of seating space and natural light. The pastries are great, as are all of the drinks I've tried so far. Service can be hit or miss, depending on the time you go. There have been times when there are 20 customers in the cafe and only 1 person working. On other days, there'll be more employees than customers.
I really like studying at the Bean because I can always find a table, and their coffee, smoothies, and food are good. I really like their acai bowls and pastries. (I don't recommend their matcha or chai, though.) Things are reasonably priced, and there's a 10% student discount. They are always playing the best music. The one thing is that because they are right on Broadway, there can be some suspicious characters that stop in, but that isn't their fault. Additionally, some of the staff can be a bit rude, but you just have to be assertive. Wifi also runs out after two hours, and it can be hard to find an outlet. Despite these flaws, I think the Bean is a quirky and perfectly fine place to study.
nice spot with plenty of seating, had the Caribbean egg roll & was pleasantly surprised by how good it was!
A fun spots to go to! The food is good. I go there to get a smoothie! So so good! I also really like the employees. The main 2 employees that i mostly see working at that location is Danny and Lila! Every time I go get my smoothie, they’re always very friendly to me and so welcoming!
I came here after visiting the Strand bookstore. I got a telar drip coffee which was okay, a little too acidic for my taste. I also got a rehydrator juice which was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The music playing was very early 2000’s emo/rock, so as a millennial, I enjoyed reading while listening to the musical selection.
It's a good corner location for Bean. It is big, plenty of seating. It's new, and it has a decent commercialized interior, not the romantic type. You can have your basic needs, seating, coffee and pastries, or simple lunch bites. The staff was friendly during my night visits. Overall I had a good experience here.
Very nice staff, great hot chocolate, good location & very friendly & helpful staff Shame their internet is so bad. Couldn't get anything done there.
tl;dr: - Really delightful coffee/espresso—Sweet, well balanced, ethically obtained. Big fan. - Customer service here is pretty mid to bad, despite my intense desire to want to like them - Atmosphere is more of a takeout coffee place with a few chairs and tables to stop in for a few minutes before heading out again. Not the sort of place you want to hang at for hours. Long story long: Okay, here's the deal: I LOVE the espresso here. Excellent coffee, beautiful espresso, and this is coming from someone who has worked in the coffee industry for many years. Service, on the other hand, has always been iffy. I've been here a number of times (often in Sundays, but othe days as well) as I am in the area quite regularly, and I WANT to like this place so much because their coffee is so excellent. And yet, every time I've been here, I've had issues with their service and wait time. First, their baristas don't seem to be particularly inclined to be friendly. I'm not saying they have to be exuberant and bending backwards for me, but a smile and some manners wouold be nice. Instead, I have received snappy comments, impatience, and a general sense of distaste toward my presence. They take their good ole time making my coffee and I often end up standing there for close to 10-15 minutes, despite only being one or two customers in the shop (including me). At one time, they even did not have what I ordered and then let me and my partner stand their for fifteen minutes or so, until I went up and inquired about my order, to which they informed me they didn't have the type of pourover coffee I ordered available. (I guess they just weren't going to tell me?) Atmosphere is fine—The financial district is a small place attached to a business building, so isn't necessarily the kind of place that has a cozy environment, but also doesn't really need to either. 1
Shocking service. I was told by a staff member to order at a different spot. I waited there, but no one took my order and no one even acknowledged me. Then I watched the same staff member take the next customer’s order instead. This experience felt discriminatory and unacceptable. I don’t understand how this kind of treatment is still happening If the tall female staff member is working part-time, she should still understand her role and basic customer service responsibilities. Customers shouldn’t be left confused or ignored
Showed up to order coffee and croissants. We wanted to order and sit. My son's had sandwiches, I didn't want one. And they literally kicked us out. Said no outside food even though we were at the counter ordering. Never going there and not recommending for anyone
Tough spot. Really bad energy after dark. The manager was essentially yelling at his employee who was doing her absolute best. Super loud music, kind of an obnoxious energy, not very nice :( Mostly broke my heart how mean the guy was being. Wifi didn’t work. Asked politely for some support and was basically yelled at. Really yellow overhead lighting. Has outlets. Chai latte was very very very sweet.
WORST MUFFIN EVER GUYS. Never ever try any pastries here. I have ordered a Orange Muffin, it was so weird taste that I had to throw it away and then I went to the cashier and ordered Blueberry Muffins with a thought that at least this would be good, But sorry to say that these were the WORST MUFFINS OF MY LIFE and I have wasted my 9 dollars. Believe me, I have try so many bakery places, I can say that this was the worst one. I wish I could ask for a refund. However, Sergio was nice and hospitable. They also offer 2 hrs free Wifi only with a code on your receipt.
