Pranakhon New York Reviews
I had such a great experience at P.F. Chang’s! The atmosphere was warm and upbeat, and my bartender, Q, made the night even better. She was so friendly and attentive — you could tell she really enjoys what she does. The drinks were perfectly made and came out quickly, and her recommendations were spot on. Service overall was smooth and timely, and every staff member I interacted with was kind and professional. Q really set the tone with her positive energy and great conversation. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had — can’t wait to come back!
Todd was incredible! He made me feel so special on my birthday. Very attentive to every detail I could’ve asked for. I would recommend Todd to anyone who wants to have an exceptional experience.
Our server Todd was amazing!! It was a very busy night for him he had a big party for a birthday and was very attentive for them and us!! We loved watching him interact with everyone and make it feel special! I have a gluten allergy and he made sure I was taken care of! He was great server and made our dinner very fun!! Thanks Todd!!
Stopped in for lunch w/ family. Party of 5 we were seated quickly and had Jesse as our server. He was great with recommendations/ and attentive service. Food was excellent environment was nice and clean, will be coming back
PF Changs on University Place NYC was bad when first opened. But recently they updated the cocktail menu with a great assortment of cool drinks and are serving the food hot. What great place. We go weekly. Mostly because of bartenders Connor and Alex. They make us feel like family and make really good drinks. My wife and I mostly sit at the bar, have dinner and cocktails and it's always great. Im taking my employees for lunch there tomorrow afternoon and another group on Friday this week. I'm sure they will be impressed. Awesome Restaurant ❤️😋🙂
Me and my partner came here for dinner before they closed, the service was the fastest i think I’ve ever experienced, waiter and waitress were really nice. California roll was absolutely to die for. The orange chicken was the best I’ve had and fried rice was fantastic. 10/10 experience I recommend. It is on the expensive side but I still think it’s worth it. If you have the money to go, don’t waste your time thinking about it.
Came to P.F. Chang's randomly and it truly turned out to be one of the best possible outcomes I have had in a while. Great atmosphere, amazing food and presentation, drinks were spot on and delightful, and the kind gesture to sing my friend a "Happy Birthday" was the icing on the cake. Our server Melissa was exceptional. What an amazing waitress. Was kind and welcoming, wonderful knowledge of the menu and great recommendations. P.F. has now been added to our rotation of upcoming restaurants in the future. Thank once again for such a memorable moment.
Came here for a Friday afternoon lunch and had an amazing dining experience. My server, Keith, was so kind and attentive. The food was delicious, and I really appreciated the calm atmosphere of this location. Would definitely come again!
Amazing Solo Experience at P.F. Chang’s I’ve been to this P.F. Chang’s before, but today I came alone—and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. I ordered the orange chicken and a strawberry margarita, and everything was delicious. What made it even better was how comfortable and welcomed I felt. I didn’t even feel like I was dining alone because the staff was so attentive and friendly. Huge shoutout to Q, Lexus and Danny—they were amazing the entire time. They checked in just the right amount, made great recommendations, and genuinely made the experience feel special. Definitely recommending this location to anyone, whether you’re coming with friends or solo. I’ll be back for sure!
I throughly enjoyed my experience at this P F Chang's in Union Square area. It had very nice atmosphere and a warm reception upon entering the establishment. Our server Lexis was very pleasant and gave us great customer service.I had the Mongolian Tofu with brown rice....Chefs kiss. The food was DEEEEEEEEEEELIOUS!!!! I love when they are attentive. I definitely give them a 10 out of 10 recommend!!!!
I was at this Union Square location and served by Michael. He welcomed me as soon as I sat down. He came back later, explained the menu and then helped me to scrutinize it. He brought me water and told me to let him know whenever I was ready to order. I really appreciated that because as I am an experienced diner, PF Chang’s menu was new to me. Michael came back, I ordered my lunch, Mongolian beef with a side of a hot and sour soup. I also ordered a glass of wine. Michael told me PF C has a special 1/2 price of a bottle of wine. That saved me money but I was taken aback how nice and thoughtful Michael was. Mongolian beef was really tasty. The H&S soup was ok. All in all, the meal was delicious. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere was excellent. I would come back again. I higher recommend it. Sit in Michael’s station.
Service and atmosphere was great. I ordered Mongolian beef and lo mein. Keith is an excellent server. My rating for the food is 2 stars because the beef was dry and lo mein was as well. I liked the flavor only for the price, in my opinion they need a new chef. My girl Stormy went with me 😃
This was my first time visiting, and I was truly impressed from the moment I walked in. Beth and Daja greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. They introduced me to Alex at the bar, who crafted a refreshing Sunrise cocktail that was out of this world. I started with the pork dumplings appetizer—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a great way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I had the Mongolian Trio Platter over white rice, featuring chicken, steak, and shrimp—all seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. I finished with a slice of key lime pie that was absolutely delicious. Overall, a 10/10 experience. The staff, atmosphere, and food were all exceptional. I’ll definitely be returning
My girlfriend and I did an impromptu birthday lunch! Keith, our waiter, was amazing! He catered to all of our particular needs, with enthusiasm and professionalism. And he brought out dessert with a big sparkling candle; they sang and she rang the gong!! We had a blast. It was very celebratory and she was ecstastic. Thanks Keith! See you next time!
Lovely experience! We came in and it was packed so we opted for the bar. Best decision we could have made. Zac, the bartender, was incredible. We were first timers and he guided us through the menu, giving us recommendations. We ended up having one of the branzino dishes and the crab fried rice. Both were GREAT!!! To wash it down, we had the dang soda. ALL OF THIS WAS SO DANG GOOD!!! Highly recommend 👍 s/o Zac and btw beautiful bathroom
Pranakhon has amazing service, food and drinks! They have seasonal cocktail menus- so I ordered (from the winter menu) a boozy thai iced tea which was delicious. I also ordered the Pranakhon pad thai and it was so yummy. There wasn’t any excessive oil in this dish- it had an assortment of fresh ingredients on top that you can mix in yourself. The mung beans, peanuts, and soft scrambled egg on top were the highlight. Also- the food came out in less than 8 min! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy night inside and in need of some comfort food.
Literally my go to thai spot. Tried my first ever papaya salad here and have been obsessed since! I love majority of their dishes, they're so flavorful and authentic. SK Tra was super helpful during our time there and was very patient with us when we were deciding on which new dishes to try from the menu!
So good. All the food hit. Not too oily or salty, but strong flavors and good spice. Underrated starters were the curry pancakes. They had an Indian profile and the sweet sauce on the side paired so well either way it. Khao soi was a dry dish which was interesting. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service was fantastic. Server came up periodically to refill in the water. She was present but never pushy despite the long line of people waiting for weekend dinner. Interior vibes are cool and take me to Thailand.
Portions were big, food was tasty, and the price was very reasonable. Mariam provided exceptional service and explained the whole menu as I had never been here before. She gave excellent recommendations and was always attentive despite always being on the move. I will definitely be returning. (Also save room for desssert!)
I absolutely loved this place. From the moment I walked in, it genuinely felt like being back in Thailand. The staff were dressed like Thai motorbike taxi drivers, which was such a fun and authentic touch. They were also very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong (shrimp) and sweet basil minced pork, both at Thai spicy level, and they were perfect-bold, aromatic, and truly authentic. The spice level was real Thai spicy, not toned down at all. No wonder this restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin Guide. The atmosphere was great, free Wi-Fi was available, and even the restroom was impressively clean and well maintained. Every detail, from the food to the ambiance, made me feel like I was dining in Thailand. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Thai food in New York.
wow this was rly good 😻huge portions and I rly rec the short rib mussaman!! so flavorful and meat was literally falling off the bone. crab fried rice was also good they were so generous w the crab. ive nvr had this type of khao soi before but it was so flavorful!!! i wish everything was a little spicier…but i would def come back
My 5th time visiting in 4 weeks! Everything from the menu is delicous. I had the duck from the specials menu & also the basil fried rice with beef! My favorites! Try the coconut deseert for sure, best one I had! Tom was my waiter 3 times and I think that his customer service is so pleasant ♥️ He is so attentive and lovely!
A buzzing Thai spot with lively & transportive decor. The menu leans inventive and spice-forward, and everything we tried delivered - the steamed chive cakes, Ped Ruan, and Pad Pong Karee were all packed with layered and vibrant flavors. For dessert, the coconut cake was a refreshing finish with tender bites of young coconut. A super vibrant and memorable Thai dining experience all around.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pranakhon NYC I went on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty busy, but there’s plenty of seating so it still felt comfortable. The decor is cute and the space works really well for group dinners 😊. I ordered a Thai iced tea and it was delicious. The Pad Se Ew with chicken was the standout for me, super flavorful and comforting 🍜. I also had a brisket curry with chickpeas that was rich, cozy and perfect for a chilly evening. The food came out very fast, which I appreciated, though I did feel a bit rushed. Overall, Pranakhon has great energy, tasty dishes and a warm atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’d go back to with friends 🍛✨
Pranakhon in NY is one of those rare places that hits the mark every single time. The ambiance, the warm service, the food … I genuinely start drooling just thinking about it. Their Pad Thai is hands-down one of the best I’ve had in my entire life. So many spots make it overly sweet, but not here. It’s perfectly balanced, full of flavor, and just unforgettable. I’m gluten free (celiac), and they’ve always been incredibly kind and accommodating. If you’re the same, you’re in very good hands. The Massaman Curry with short rib is a must order - rich, tender, and deeply satisfying. We also always get the papaya salad (definitely go mild; medium can get intense and overpower the dish), and the Tom Yum soup, which is bright, aromatic, and completely addictive. My whole family loves this place, and it’s become our go-to when we’re eating out with a mix of dietary needs. Whether you’re gluten free or just picky about truly great Thai food, Pranakhon is one of those restaurants you’ll want to keep coming back to.
It’s a two-story restaurant that’s absolutely gorgeous, but the tables do feel a little smushed together, which I didn’t love. That said, the place was packed - practically every table was full - yet the service was impressively quick. We barely waited for our food despite how busy it was. I would highly recommend getting a reservation and being on time for it, as they do give the table away if you're late. For the size of the space and people it holds, I definitely think the restroom situation isn't handled well, as I saw a line outside the restroom pretty much all the time I was there. For food, I tried the curry pancakes and the fried chicken, both of which were really good. For my main, I played it super safe with a red curry, but it did not disappoint in the slightest. It was spicy, and comforting, basically a warm hug in a bowl. I also had some of the crab fried rice, and the portion was surprisingly generous for a “small" size. I loved the food here and honestly can’t wait to come back and try more.
Love this place, been 4-5 times now and tried a good number of dishes on their sizable menu and have found everything great overall. Definitely a case where the restaurant as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts - the food itself isn’t perfect, nothing is the absolute best you’ll find in the city, but something about it makes you want to dig in and eat more. Atmosphere is probably a huge part of this, vibes inside are loud and boisterous and constantly packed - great energy. Service is ok, the staff is all nice but just extremely busy. Come early if you don’t have a res, they open at 430pm but even if you arrive at 5pm you’ll already have a 20-30 minute wait.
Great spot. New Yorks pretty cool. Went here with my cousin. Super cool spot. The food was great. Flavors were there. Thai wasn’t super traditional but pretty good and was more hip if you know what I’m saying. I’m not saying I’m a pro Thai food eater but it seemed like they put a cool new spin on the food. The dessert was really good. It was this mango and ice cream dish. Also this steak dish was pretty solid. Noodles were great, rice had good flavors. Beli rated it a 8.7 and I would agree and say high 8s. Overall great place and even greater people.
My group of 3 walked in with no reservation and it was a 45 minute wait. Delicious food. The curry appetizer was perfectly crunchy and the soft shell crab was phenomenal. Dishes can be spicy. Servers were attentive and helpful. The ambiance is vibrant and a little retro, adding to the aesthetics.
Really loved very good and good service. Ordering next time as well so good. Nfjdhsbhshsbsn

A little pricier than your average Thai restaurant, but then, it’s not your average Thai restaurant! Very exceptional food, service and drinks.

I only have 45 minutes before dr. appointment so I just killing time on Happy hour at the restaurant. Cocktail is $8.99 and some small potion of appetizer. I like Slow-braised pork ribs, come in 3 pieces, CRAB WONTONS also 3 pieces but I don't like this one. No crab at all only cheese inside, wonton is too hard and dipping is too bland. I seat at the bar and the place is not busy at that time. First when I order food and drink is ok but after that I have to wait for a while for a bartender to come.
We dined at P.F. Chang's in January and had the pleasure of being served by Lexus, who truly made our experience exceptional! As a picky eater, I appreciated her patience and attentive listening. Her recommendations were spot on, and I enjoyed trying new dishes thanks to her guidance. While the food was decent, Lexus's welcoming personality and outstanding service made our evening memorable. We'll definitely return, and I look forward to being served by her again!
In the immediate Union Square area Chang’s is one of my favorites. Great, tasty dishes with a friendly staff and a nice interior design. I’ve been here a few times and have always enjoyed what I ordered. This time around was focused on just a few dishes. One dish was Northern-Style Pork Spare Ribs, which was very good. Also a California and a Dynamite Roll. Both ‘ok’ and typical Americanized sushi. We also ordered some pork fried rice which was excellent! I know, too much rice/starch in one meal! For dessert I had a red velvet cake, which was good, but mostly whipped cream. Overall, I enjoyed dinning here, as I always do, and there’s no doubt that I’ll be back.
the food was good but could be better, however, the service was AMAZING! everyone was so attentive and kind. our server Angie was fantastic! constantly checked on us and made sure we were well taken care of. will def come back and try other dishes and make sure everyone knows about Angie :)
We reached the place 15 minutes earlier than our reservation time and had a short wait. The ambience was on point. They tried to replicate a little street food vibe but still keep it a little classy. Place was a little loud with it being completely packed and also the tables are placed a little too close. We enjoyed our time here. We ordered the curry pancake to start our meal with. It was a little bland for our taste but still tasted pretty good. And then we went with the Pad Thai, Green curry with chicken which tasted amazing. Prices are a little on the pricier side but expected for a NYC restaurant. We ordered some mocktails as well which tasted amazing too. Would definitely visit again to try the other items on the menu. Staff were very courteous and accommodating when we were trying to make some customizations to our food
This place is very popular, so it can get a bit noisy, but it’s still manageable. The food is fairly solid—nothing we tried was disappointing, but nothing really stood out as memorable either. The service, on the other hand, was noticeably better and more impressive than the dishes themselves. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a casual hangout with friends, just don’t come in with overly high expectations for the food.
Rated as one of the top Thai spots in NYC and a recent Michael Bib Gourmand, this restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy some great Thai food. I would recommend booking a reservation here ahead of time (by a week, especially for weekends) as it gets very busy. The interior is spacious with lots of tables and beautiful decor reminiscent of Thailand's streets. We ordered their papaya salad, shrimp egg rolls, and curry pancake for appetizers. For mains, we got their braised beef, soft shell crab curry, tom kha, and crab fried rice. Portions here were so generous and everything was delicious. My favorites were the braised beef and the soft shell crab curry as they were so rich, creamy, and flavorful and paired really well with rice. The crab fried rice was another favorite at our table. Service here is very attentive, but I did notice that they REALLY tried to upsell us on everything. We definitely were recommended more dishes than we needed (we didn't even order as much as our waitress recommended) and for dessert, half of our table didn't want dessert so we told our waitress we wanted something small. She recommended four orders of the coconut pudding, but did not tell us that each serving already came with FOUR bowls. Had we known, we would've only ordered one.

Very immersive and ambient from the get-go, this is authentic Thai street food at its best. I highly recommend making a reservation, service was quick and our party had a great time.

For a place with such a pretty ambiance and somewhat high prices, the food and service were overall disappointing. When we first walked into the restaurant, we were excited to try everything - but the hostess didn’t even acknowledge us. She was on the phone, but she could’ve at least glanced over or nodded to let us know she saw us. Instead, we stood there awkwardly until what seemed to be a bartender came over and silently pointed at seats. No greeting, no “hi,” no welcome, not even a smile. It was a strange first impression, but we were hungry, so we brushed it off. The menu felt a bit all over the place. The wine glasses were dirty, unpolished, and had visible stains. We ordered the miso lobster dumplings, which came out lukewarm - not even close to hot. The sauce was good, but the dumplings themselves lacked flavor and were mushy. For a twenty-dollar appetizer, we expected much better. My girlfriend ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, and while the salad tasted good, the salmon was dry. It was also unclear on the menu how much the salmon upcharge was. We also tried the crab wontons and the Mongolian beef with lo mein. Every single dish came out lukewarm (Hence why we thought everything was frozen), and the funny part is that we sent the crab wontons back because of an issue, and when they returned, they were actually hotter than when we first got them. The presentation on the dishes was nice, though. As for service, we were never given water, and when we finally asked, it took a while. The server offered me a refill on my Coke and brought it quickly, but never checked in with my girlfriend about anything. He was kind, just seemed very laid-back and a bit slow but other than that we enjoyed his service. I also asked for a dinner menu and never received it. And this wasn’t during a rush; the place was slow when we arrived at 3 p.m. We also really enjoyed the chocolate souffle, it was really yummy a good choice for dessert. We might give it another shot in the future, but definitely hope for a better experience next time. Hope the feedback helps improve the place.
The restaurant looks beautiful, but that’s where the compliments end. The food and service were a huge disappointment. It was our first time here — me, my husband, and his son — and for the quality of the Asian food, I’d give it one star at best. The portions were tiny, my rice was wet, and either the cook got the order wrong or the waiter did. To make things worse, my seasoned chicken sat for about 15 minutes before the rice finally showed up — completely ruining the meal. For the prices they charge, the food should taste a lot better and come out together. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I ended up walking across the street to Little Italy Pizza afterward because I was still hungry — and that pizza tasted way better than what I had here. Pretty place, terrible experience.
I visit this PF Chang’s location frequently, and often order the kids chicken fried rice to-go as it is reasonably priced and easy for me to eat quickly in between a busy schedule. The employees are very kind and quick! However, today while finishing the rest of my kids chicken fried rice, I took a bite of the chicken, and felt something very sharp and hard poke my cheek. I spit it out, and the chicken had a piece of bone. I am concerned because as a former waitress of PF Chang’s, I have never witnessed bones in the chicken used for fried rice, but also because this is supposed to be a KIDS meal. Though I am disturbed, I am thankful this meal wasn’t given to a child as the bone is a choking hazard and could have easily cut the inside of my mouth. Keep in mind I typically order this meal multiple times a month, and this is the first I’ve encountered bones in the food. PF Changs, please do better.
