Barcade Brooklyn Reviews
First time back since the pandemic and I have give credit to the manager for following safety protocols while being incredibly accommodating given the Saturday night capacity restrictions. Outdoor seating is available. Masks and temperature checks are mandatory, which I was super happy to see enforced. Drinks and games were great as usual. Overall, an awesome staple. Went to the St Mark's location for years before discovering this more spacious location. Highly recommend. Went here for my birthday in February and for my other half last night. No complaints!
Always a great time! Huge variety of drinks and the bartenders are really good at being attentive to their customer's needs. The games are fun and always kept in good shape. The locale is always clean and in good order and it caters to a niche crowd so you wont ever really have the annoying frat crowd type
Kool place for Games and drinks. They had light snacks chips jerky nuts. I was told you can Order food to sit and eat or bring your own food. Beers on tap were great. They have liquor aswell. My husband loved the games I would try the other location where food is available next time. Games take tokens that you get at the machine. But just for fun coming here is LIT
Great experience. They have an awesome selection of beers on tap, and a great selection of retro games. The games range in price from one token ($.25) to 3 tokens ($.75). My partner and I went there and with $20 between us for games, spent like over 5 hours there (by the end it was us just wasting tokens on the more expensive games, because there are no refunds on tokens).
The beer geek in me loves the wide beer selection at Barcade. The game geek in me loves the on point selection of 80s and 90s coin op games at Barcade. I guess what I'm saying is I love this place! I visited on a Saturday afternoon with friends and spent a good couple of hours revisiting some classic games (Galaga, Missle Command), some genre defining games (Daytona, Final Fight, Street Fighter II) and discovering some future classic brews.
Amazing bar with the best bartenders, and a ton of fun arcade games! Can get very crowded on the weekend, but that’s to be expected. I also respect that they’re environmentally conscious (no cans, only drafts, and they are fully wind-powered). Don’t sleep on the picklebacks, they’re delicious!
Excellent beer selection, crowd, games, and staff (best bouncers and by far the best bartenders, bar none). I've been coming here for about a decade, meeting up with friends and regulars several times a week; always super fun. Recently, the music has been far too loud though. I come often to play games, but also to converse. It sometimes gives me a headache or I'll leave the bar with my throat hurting from having to shout for a few hours to have a conversation. At times, it's _that_ loud.
Great place to hang out with friends for a few hours and have some beers and play some neat arcade games or pinball. Get the mango mangosteen merlin in berlin it was highly recommended by my friends.
Haven't been here in quite a while. Great to play some classic games and get a few drinks in
So fun and the bartenders were so nice and great! We loved Joe and Garrett!! The blonde bar back was pretty mean and dismissive to us, I think she misheard what I said but it did not warrant her rude response. I hope she has a better night and learns to not take her anger out on others. If you avoid her the bar is AMAZING!! 😍
Beers and classic arcade machines! A lucky find when I was wandering in New York.
Dive bar feel, lots of old school arcades, get a lot of tokens for your money! The drinks are creative and strong, and the staff is the best! This is my new hang out spot
If you love video games and are over 21 this is the spot. You must have a valid ID, they do not accept NYCID I’ve tried. Perfect place for a first date or group of friends as they have plenty of games to play. If you want to get to play till you’re bored weekdays and Sunday nights it’s your best bet as Saturday is packed with people.
Great atmosphere, affordable drinks, and friendly staff! The selection of games is amazing, I lost my husband for a good while and watched his nerd face light up as he slid tokens in several old school arcade games. The door man was friendly and social, 5he bar staff efficient! Cant wait to come back!
LOVE 👏🏻 THIS 👏🏻 PLACE 👏🏻 Barcade is a straight up iconic institution. I’ve been going to this location for over 6 years and Barcade (Williamsburg) has a fantastic layout with the most lovely staff. The bartenders are always helpful and fast, and the game selection is to die for. It’s crowded on Friday & Saturday nights, but rightfully so for creating a space that provides such a wonderful outing.
Maddie is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met. Not only did she make great drinks, but she also gave some of the most genuine, thoughtful life advice I’ve heard in a long time. It felt like talking to a friend who actually listens and cares. She brought good energy, made everyone feel welcome, and really helped turn my night around. Barcade is lucky to have someone like her behind the bar.
First time coming back to barcade Brooklyn since before the pandemic. Still enjoy my time there as I did before. As rules go (for now) limited number of people to inside at once and drinks must be kept at tables an not at games. Photo is straight Bluecoat gin with ice water om the side.
Awesome bar with a great collection of old school cabinets. I've got all these games at home. I've got a full assortment of liquor at home too. So why am I here? The draw of a recreation of the old school arcade experience, which is rapidly disappearing sadly. Will a younger crowd that grew up before the arcade heydey of the 80s and 90s enjoy it as much? This old man can't tell you, you'll have to find out for yourself.
Had a fantastic first-time experience at this location. I brought my dad here to celebrate his birthday and he loved it. Classic games and pinball machines that he grew up on, as well as games I loved as a kid. $20 in tokens nearly gets you at least 1-2 plays (or more) on everything they have. The bartender (dude with the long hair)is super nice and accommodating. Overall great time! Highly RECOMMENDED!!
If u like pinball and old arcade games then go to thos bar.
Fun little spot! My boyfriend and I go here when we visit from NC to get away from family and it’s the perfect setting to chill out and play some old school video games! Drinks are good, bartenders are nice and they offer bagged snacks as well.
I've been coming here for a long time, and I always have an exceptionally wonderful time. The staff are some of my favorite people in general, absolutely fantastic people. The game selection is a blast, and the drinks are great. My only complaint (and I had to really really think about this), is that the music has been increasingly unnecessarily loud (I find it hard to hear what my friends sitting next to me are saying). Otherwise my experience is perfect (and Pinty is my best friend)!
Awesome verity of drinks and games. All your classics are here especially street fighters turbo. The drinks are to die for. The springsdale spritz with its fruity taste and the Victory Berry Monkey with its delicious sour taste make the night. Bar tenders are awesome and gave good recommendations will come again
Very nice arcade place lots of retro arcade systems takes you back to time ike in the 80s and 90s
My new favorite bar in Williamsburg, especially for date night. My boyfriend and I were so excited to try out Barcade after it recently reopened post-COVID. Inside were a number of retro arcade games and a full service bar with a number of beers and ciders on tap, not to mention specialty cocktails and a wine selection. Essentially, there are machines inside to give you tokens. We opted for about 40 tokens and had fun for a solid hour and a half at $10. You really can’t beat that price AND we laughed so hard at the cheesy games we saw. Shoutout to our bartender who took very good care of us and even let me play with her tamagotchi 😂
Matty the magnificent was our bartender for our duration of 2 hours. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and policies from her location. I had a ball enjoying the games and the small banter between us. Pleae give her at least a 1 dollar raise lol. The best bartender in the world 🌎 😋 5 stars.
The staff were super friendly and I had a great time with a cup of livations and some reminiscing about my childhood playing some awesome arcade games. Highly recommed..!
Excellent place to go to hangout, only suggestion to improve upon is more bar food, but that's just me being picky, otherwise an amazing time and an amazing selection of beers.
The arcade games selected were great. Be aware that some might steal your tokens, but I’m sure the staff could help with that. One bartender was more curt when asking for recommendations, but that’s New York
Barcade Williamsburg. Classic. Been coming here forever! The beers are REALLY good- huge selection and they will let u try any anything you might be curious about but not sure of. Full bar and cocktail menu too- also, now they have like nonalcoholic selection for those who don’twanna imbibe. They don’t have food, but they have a huge binder full of every type of menu you can imagine from the area so it’s kind of good for like parties or birthdays cause you could bring your friends and order whatever you want with just like takeout so it’s way cheaper than going to a restaurant and you can pick whatever you want - so good! I like to order from lily Thai and grab a table. I love that. The games are really good. I love Tetris. That’s my favorite. They also have pinball which I’m getting into now and they have like every pinball ever made. Super fun hang!
There's NEVER a boring moment at the Barcade. Every arcade game I played when I was kid is present.😃 As for the music: PRICELESS!!! Wanna relive the 80's, the Barcade is the place to be.😉
I came in just to enjoy some alone time gaming and the bartenders took extreme care of me. Probably the best bartender service I’ve had in all of NYC in a hot minute. I didn’t get the name of my first bartender but my second bartender, Joe, was the GOAT! Super sweet, attentive, communicative, the whole nine yards. Incredibly impressed! The game selection was great too. I feel like so much a has changed since the last time I was here about 8-10 years ago. They really dusted off their shoulders and really improved in so many ways. The drinks are great, the new use of the space and the game selections are all top notch.
I absolutely love this bar! Every time I come to nyc it is a must. The games are so fun an inexpensive. The drinks are always great! The bartenders are THE BEST, especially the two Joes. I go to nyc maybe 3 times a year, but they always remeber me and my bf and they hook us up every time! We were just here this past Feb. for a concert and had Joe as our bartender and he is such a nice guy. I love all locations but the Brooklyn one holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for always being so great! Any time my friends go to nyc I tell them they nees to go to Barcade. <3
I’m so glad I found this place! Great selection of retro arcade games (especially the pinball), fun people, incredibly friendly staff, good food and drinks, everything!! My only note for improvement is the loud music. I have to SCREAM at the person next to me just to even try and hear them (PLEASE LOWER THE VOLUME). Other than that, definitely one of my go to spots for fun.
What a fun place. My wife and I (gen X…) arrived and we were carded at the door. We had a laugh with the guy, since we’re a couple grey haired 50 year-olds getting ID’d. We had a beer from an awesome selection. There are token machines to get your bills into tokens, and then we played video games. Galaga, Donkey Kong, PAC Man and others. We had a blast. Chill vibe, great staff, and the best video games. Highly recommend!
Barcade is always a great time. Great selection of games. They have Crazy Taxi there which I'm not gonna lie, almost made me cry because I grew up on that game. The pinball machines are great, I wish they didn't cost 3 tokens though. They have ATMs there to pull out cash to exchange into tokens. The drinks are great and reasonably priced. Great place to hang out and play some games
This place brings me back to my childhood. It has an awesome 80s vibe complete with old school arcades such as Mortal Kombat, Pac-man and Centipede, etc. The pinball games were super cool. It's an awesome place to catch up with friends if you want to have some drinks and some fun. Keep in mind that this bar doesn't serve food, but does have small snacks in a bag you can purchase at the bar. Their drinks kicks a punch though with a friendly bartender. Definitely will return to this place for more vintage fun!!! who says old school can't be trendy!!!!???🙃😜
Barcade is cool. Decent selection of beers and other drinks available. They have snacks, but no kitchen. So there's not much food. However, they have a cool atmosphere with a bunch of classic arcade games. I apparently suck epically at Asteroid, but I got 3rd place on the high scores for Tetris. So, at least I have that going for me, which is nice. If you want a cool place to hang out and have some fun, this is a great option.

I love their selection of craft beers, variety of games for low prices, and location in the heart of Williamsburg. Great any time of year with a group of friends or date. Friendly bartenders.
The original! Visited multiple times. Vast space with a great vibe and drinks. Decor is industrial and minimal which makes the machines even more striking!

We came here after brunch & it was pretty low key, wish they had a bit more games for my liking. But the atmosphere is dope. Drinks are definitely strong, can't go wrong w/that at all! Definitely check it out if you're around that way
I adore Barcade; it's a fantastic place to unwind and have some fun late at night. The service is quite satisfactory, ensuring you always get a great drink. The bartenders tend to pour generously, so if you have a lower tolerance, one or two drinks should suffice while you enjoy the classic arcade games. I particularly enjoy visiting after a nice dinner or an evening of dancing. It's a relaxed venue with friendly folks.
It's a good place in a very good location. One issue I'd say is the arcades could have had more time per token range, would hold the crowd in and make it even more lively. I'm saying that cause Some places have full on free arcades with drinks in the neighborhood, so good competition is there 👍🏽
Chain bar with arcade games. Checks all the boxes with classic games and good pinball selections. It's weird how a place like this could seem corporate, but it doesn't seem to have any real soul to it. Loved the craft beer selection, but if they wanted to go authentic. Needed to pump in cigarette smoke and make the floors sticky to capture the 80s correctly. Maybe a random 3$ beers would seal the deal.
(Nov 2014) Love it Love Love it! Big open warehouse lined with old skool video games (late 80’s latest?). I’m very excited.....I just spotted Ghost & Goblins. 28 taps, all US and good variety. Lower abv stuff about $7 a pint. Would love to bring my 6yr and 5yr here...just to show them what real video games are like. Glad I made the effort to come.
Good spot to relax, have fun and play some classic arcade games! Drinks are descent, more of a pub vibe of course. Always a good spot for friends or a date.
Drink prices are decent. Games are fun but sometimes eat coins (staff will help you if so). Music seemed extra loud, tough to sit and chat.
Barcade is such a fun spot! The atmosphere is amazing — great music, awesome energy, and a perfect mix of classic arcade games and good drinks. The staff really make the experience, especially Maddie — she was the absolute sweetest! Super friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone was having a great time. You can tell she genuinely enjoys her job and it shows. Whether you’re going for the games, the vibe, or just to relax with friends, this place never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite hangouts in New York! 🎮🍹
Props to Barcade for being one of few places in Brooklyn where I can perfectly marry the games of my youth with the drinking privileges of adulthood. With rows of vintage quarter games, sporting colorful joysticks and absurdly simple 'kick' and 'punch' buttons, Barcade is a time warp of sorts, allowing grown men and women to rediscover a love affair with Atari and Street Fighter. I am not so prideful that I wouldn't admit to spending many nights trying to defeat the high scores on Tetris, with plenty of cheap well drinks fueling me through the more intense levels. A decent selection of beers are on tap (including one hard cider that tasted just like fizzy apple juice, just the way I like it) are made all the more attractive by the $1 off happy hour prices and simple bar snacks are available, though be forewarned - oily potato chip fingers present a slip risk when trying to furiously tap the button that pulls a character's special hadouken move. Recent trips have revealed some new developments, such as a token system (so no more using the change machines for your next day's trip to the laundromat) and a number of new games, such as Star Wars and a multi-player touchscreen PacMan game. Some nights are busier than others, which might mean queueing up for your game of choice, but there are plenty of other things to occupy your wait time. Besides tons of other games, there are large, rustic picnic-style tables scattered throughout the bar where you can strategize with your playmate about how to finally defeat the enemies on Final Fight, and even a trip to the bathroom promises ample entertainment as you read the hundreds of handwritten messages left behind in the stall (or maybe that's just the women's room). Even when it's crowded, Barcade is a guaranteed good time for anyone who tires of the typical bar scene and it's a great place for anyone - from singles to first dates to married couples (in fact, I've made trips out to Barcade during every stage of life, enjoying myself thoroughly every time).
This is one of those places you hang out with your buddies and have a great time playing classic arcade with your favorite drink. Their drinks menu is rich, and beer options are ample. If you're one of the arcade lovers, you're gonna love this place. What deserves a special mention? Their classic game collection is rich and the vibe is retro. What could be better? Their service and hygiene standards.
I haven't tried the food, and the atmosphere would have been better for me if I was able to hear myself think or even speak, the music was just too loud for me. Other wise it's a cool place to go if you don't mind the loud music 🎶 and don't go on the weekend if you don't want to be in a crowded bar.

I love you guys! You are the best! But please turn down the volume. I can’t order proper any longer. Even if I am there earlier I can barely hear a game(that is part of the fun). Please for everyone’s ears let’s have a bar not a concert hall volume place. Volume to back to regular levels. Thank you.
Why does it have to be so loud? An otherwise amazing experience made frustrating by the noise level. Service was perfect (when they could hear me) and the games were on point but I had to yell through a nearly impenetrable wall of sound the entire night. Ringing ears and a raspy voice has me hesitant to visit again.
Our friends outside had forgotten their ID and couldn’t get in, so my friend went outside to see them for a quick second at the front door. No one told us no drinks were allowed to be taken outside and the bouncer even thought it was unfair when they rudely threw her out with no pretense.
Fun games but awful service. A bartender came out from the back room and stood in front of where we were sitting, as we waiting for our order to be taken and ignored us to start cutting limes. She did not acknowledge us in any way and it didn't help that she was blocking the other bartender's view of the bar section we were at for the other bartenders to help us.
I think this place is great if you’re old school and appreciate good ol games. But I’m a foodie and there’s no food here and the music is not my taste and the drinks were weak.
Really loved going to this place; however, the security guard for 1/30/26 at night was very rude!!!!! Pressing me as if I were coming in from off the streets begging for food. Management needs to refresh their security guards on hospitality. Totally unacceptable.
WAY too loud. This place would be great, but they insist on blasting the music. You have to yell to hear other people in here. I started wearing earplugs whenever I come, which is ridiculous that it's necessary. You can have music, just turn it down to a reasonable level! Many people complain about this and yet nothing is done - please listen to your customers.
Very rude and ignorant security guy who’s familiar with USA vaccination cards only!! Needed Manager’s opinion on my Pfizer vaccine which I got abroad and literally pushed me to the side while attending new customers. Once I took my ID back from his hand he recognized me as rude and told that to a Manager, who didn’t want to share his name, but just started his shift around 7pm, today 9/18/21, “will go with what his security guy concluded” and said “doesn’t want my business there”. No explanation given. Just like that. Conclusion: Tourists and immigrants you’re not welcome to Barcade!! They don’t want your business there!! Rude rude rude! I would rethink about your welcoming staff, since the “no name” Manager said security guy has been with the Company for a while. Oh yeah, been coming here for past 5 years at least. Disappointing fact, I loved this place.
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this bar. From the moment I approached the bartender to order a drink, I was met with outright hostility. The bartender was not only extremely rude but also displayed aggressive and racist behavior toward me, completely unprovoked. When I attempted to place my order, I was literally yelled at. Concerned for my safety and dignity, I had to involve security to de-escalate the situation and bring management into the matter. Unfortunately, the manager was no better—unprofessional, dismissive, and shockingly, they even justified the bartender’s actions instead of addressing the issue appropriately. There was zero empathy, accountability, or effort to resolve the situation. What was supposed to be a fun night out to celebrate my husband’s birthday was ruined within the first ten minutes. The environment here is toxic, the service is appalling, and the lack of professionalism from staff and management is unacceptable. I will be reporting this incident to the necessary authorities and pursuing legal action to hold them accountable. If you value respect, decency, and a welcoming atmosphere, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. This location is nothing like others in the city, and it’s truly disappointing to witness such behavior in 2025. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. We visited March 22,2025
They're incredibly rude and ruined the vibes at the bar, this bar is the worst bar I've been to in Brooklyn and the hospitality was terrible. Wouldn't recommend going here, already advised my friends there not to bother going. The other locations are truthfully a lot more lively and fun.
