Bright Side Brooklyn Reviews
My husband and I live in the area and stopped here for a coffee and a smoothie and it was really good! We loved the smoothie and the coffee was good. It wasn't as good as a Blank Street or a Gregory but it was good. They have great seating area inside and outside. I loved that their bathroom smelled really nice.
This Williamsburg coffee shop offers a stellar location, complete with indoor and outdoor seating options. Their lattes are a standout, and the overall vibe is just right for a relaxing afternoon hangout. Whether you're catching up with friends or looking for a quiet spot to work, this cozy coffee joint is definitely worth checking out.
My fiancée got up and was a little scary so I took her to bright side, right away. After a few cups she was more manageable. It seems what was was missing is a little snack. Great coffee. Good Aussie vibe.
I visited for breakfast on a weekend and fell in love with their potato wedges. I have tried their croissants before (also good) but their hot food is good as well. The place also has good vibes, which is a plus! Highly recommend!
I had a cortado and the bright bowl and sat outside - it was all lovely! Staff was great too, will be coming back to brave the vegemite on the menu for the true Aussie experience.
Favourite Aussie nyc cafe… feels just like a cafe if aus. They even have Vegemite on the menu (iykyk) Hands down best coffee It is a must! I can’t go past the avo on toast with the feta on the side
Love! Delicious food and a cozy spot. Loved their porridge and mushroom toast. Portions are a little small but worth the price point!
Coffee and brunch place, service was fast, food good. Like many places in the vicinity it's dog friendly.
This deserves a higher rating! Coffee is great, food is great and there is always a cool vibe in the place, especially outside when the weather is nice. Great dog meet-up too! Highlight for us is the porridge, an absolute bomb dish!

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always been good! The only thing I’m sad about is they use to have this fabulous mushroom toast with beet hummus and it’s gone 🥲
Cute breakfast spot. Had the DELICIOUS açaí bowl and a cappuccino. Service could be better - the cashier was great but my server went missing most of the time. After placing my order I waited for her to place a To Go order but she just disappeared. The outside was packed so maybe she was overwhelmed. In the end I got up and went to the Take away line to order my take out items. Surprisingly she was there with another employee although there was only one person on line when I got there. I will definitely try this place again.
Excellent service and a great venue. The inside is very nice but the outdoor space is where this cafe really shines. The benches and small round tables make for a good spot to sit outside and eat. The majority of the outdoor seating is also covered so that's a bonus. The food is fresh and pretty good, very visually appealing.

Hit or miss with coffee: their latte was great but the decaf coffee was burnt and bitter unfortunately. The croissant was good, kids liked it. The patio is simple but great, plenty of seats and tables in the sun or in the shade. Close to the ferry.
Went for an acai bowl and coffee however the kitchen was already closed almost an hour prior to closing . So we just took coffees. They use counter culture coffee roast which I like and they had Oatly oat milk. We were quite disappointed that they didn’t have any syrups to go along with our coffee. Service was not great.

The croissants here are excellent, the green bowl is delicious, and the coffee is pretty good. The team is always friendly and helpful, and the crowd is cool! It's also stroller-friendly, making entry easy for families. I genuinely want to love this café because it has so many positives. However, there's an issue with the smell inside—like burned butter or fat mixed with cleaning detergent—that unfortunately lingers on my clothes and hair, even after a brief visit. Improving ventilation could greatly enhance the overall experience. Also, the parfait could use some improvement. Perhaps it's popular and frequently sells out, but it's excessively sweet, especially considering we're in 2025 when lighter, less sugary options are appreciated.
Great little place with nice breakfast and good wines at happy hour. Giving 3 stars because the staff felt a bit hostile and passive aggressive towards small children. Happened on 2 separate occasions with 2 different staff. Just felt like they were super annoying we had our kids with us which is quite silly for a cafe in Williamsburg!

I was really excited to try this spot before work and ordered an iced spiced maple coffee (it’s 75 cents extra, so I thought it would be fun to try something unique). I sat patiently for 10 minutes while several customers who came in after me were served their coffee, food, and given warm attention. Meanwhile, I was just a girl, standing in front of a counter, waiting for her $7+ coffee. Wanting to give the café the benefit of the doubt, I got back in line to check on my order. The response was a quick, mumbled apology and confirmation of what I had ordered. When it finally arrived, the drink was nothing like what was advertised — just a basic latte with some cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. I completely understand that everyone has different personalities and busy moments, but it was hard not to notice the contrast in kindness and attentiveness between how other customers were treated and how I was treated. For the price and the hype, the experience fell flat. In the end, the brightest side of my visit was the neon light display on the wall.

Recently been to this place about 10 times to give it a try. Nice space and tasty food, but the staff consistently gives off a really unfriendly and unwelcoming vibe. FWIW I tipped 22 percent each visit, was polite, and went at low traffic times. Won't be returning.

Very smoky because they don’t have vents. Your clothes will smell like fried food after, beware. People are nice, coffee aight.
I am absolutely disappointed. I was taken away from the bad service from the start, but once the food came I cut them some slack because it was yummy, afterwards tho the waiter DEMANDED a tip even asking us “Are you guys from America?” That was the most disrespectful experience I’ve ever had. This comment was very inappropriate and I hope they can revise their staff.
Bright Side cafe... I looked forward to indulging in your menu for a while. Due to the circumstance of my first order, I CANNOT indulge in your coffee or your cuisine anymore. My order was forty-seven and some change. I didn't mind it due to the fact I had other breakfast spots that were more costly than this. I left a ninety-one cent tip, I should have left one. I order two breakfast buns, a chai latte, and a regular latte (both of the lattes had the seasonal flavors, maple and vanilla). In a coffee shop in the area (copper mug), it would have been better for less than what I paid. The guy taking my order kept rolling his eyes at me, kept sighing, and being extremely disrespectful by talking about the customers to his coworkers while customers were waiting. I made modifications to one of the sandwiches, due to the fact I have IBS and GERD. I asked for NO Hot Honey, NO cheese, and Jalapeños on the side. They ignored all of my modifications and gave me the sandwich as it came. They also took twenty to thirty minutes with making my order. After taking a bite of the sandwich, I threw it out due to the fact i did not know this would have the things that would trigger my GERD. The one without modifications (for my brother), he said it hurt his stomach and tasted awfully. He said it tasted artificial and did not justify the seventeen dollar price tag. The drinks... THE DRINKS... someone better check on who's buying the ingredients due to the fact it was horrific. The latte tasted like sugary milk, the chai tasted like soy milk with a tiny bit of cinnamon. The entire fiasco with the drinks was disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANTED SOMETHING GOOD. THE ONLY THING GOOD IS THE ATMOSPHERE.
