My favorite local deli. I'm a discerning consumer of chicken cutlets: my rule of thumb is good cutlet = good deli. To that end, Canteen is excellent. The staff is really friendly, and the owner greets me by name every time I walk in. If you're looking for a quick meal at a really reasonable price, Canteen is one of the best options in the neighborhood.

Love this place, highly recommend. Everyone who work here is friendly. They care about the neighborhood, their customers, and most importantly the food they serve. My favorites -- Tuna Melt, Salads, and the Green Smoothie (refreshing)... Also ice coffee is a must.

Canteen is a great neighborhood staple. The guys who work here are super friendly and always working hard. Food comes fast and is pretty tasty. They have really good smoothies and decent vegan options such as tofu cream cheese, oat and almond milk.

Brought a Aussie Burger and a Pannini via Postmates. Burger was big, filling; came with a lot of nice soft fries. Pannini was stuffed with meat, its in the fridge now as leftovers. Very good portions and quality for price~!

The staff is really friendly and the food is amazing! At first I thought it was an ordinary cafe but I was wrong. The smoothies I had were so fresh I could taste a tropical island. 100 percent would come back for an another amazing smoothie. Prices were also low considering the exquisite taste.

The fella who’s always behind the counter (I assume he’s the owner) is just the best, he’s a super hard worker and everything is always quality. It’s also super affordable, not Park Slope prices. I very much appreciate a solid NY deli that isn’t outrageously priced.

Ordered by phone for pick up during lunch time and we were told to come in 10 minutes. The staff was super friendly and we even got a recommendation for a bakery shop. I had gotten a pastrami salad and it was absolutely PACKED with meat. Good prices, good people, would recommend you give this place a shot :)

Ernesto, Usman, and his father are fantastic! I always customize my tuna melts and they patiently, kindly, make it perfectly yummy every time (ask for the joy special)! I also always get the immune booster juice with ginger whenever I feel a cold coming on. Their service and friendliness always makes my day! I am so grateful they are in the neighborhood!

Was passing by and noticed immediately that they just added a nice long, wide ramp (which I'm sure all the local parents with strollers are enjoying). I decided to roll in and grab a late lunch. Very friendly, laid-back folks. Huge menu. Free first-timer baklava with my falafel sandwich and latte. Lovely, will return.

A nice neighborhood spot where you can get some healthy food and warm service. The owner is very nice and hospitable. When I go I get the chicken Cesar salad and a green blended drink. Both great taste and good for your body. It's worth a stop in!

I love this place. The owner is the NICEST guy - his staff is so polite and efficient. The sandwiches are enormous and great quality, the juices are fresh and tasty. I’m so happy they survived covid - truly a Brooklyn staple.

I love this place. I have been ordering from here off and on for the last 8 years. The staff is friendly, the food is good, the service is quick. One little secret - if you don't like what's on the menu, they will make you anything you want (within reason of course), and charge you a fair price. It's a solid choice if you are looking for a high end deli with a lot of options.

It’s nice to find a deli with plenty of seating. The people here are very friendly and they easily accommodate substitutions for food. It tastes clean as well. I don’t live around the area but I wish I had a deli like this around my neighborhood.

I have never encountered a deli with such hospitality. The people working here are so so nice. My sandwich and smoothie were very good. While I was sitting and eating I saw them interact with other guests with the same hospitality. So refreshing.

The food ( number 1 breakfast burrito ) was surprisingly good if not great! Definitely worth checking out. An above average deli food. The potato tots are crispy inside the burrito. The sausage is a good portion.

Very neat little cafe. Despite the size, there is a large variety of options to choose from. We got several bagel sandwiches for breakfast, and they were delicious! The gentleman running the place was super friendly and helpful. Also, as far as food and Brooklyn goes, it's hard to beat these prices. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Great service and food. I had a long layover at JFK and my hotel wouldn’t check my bag, and I found this cafe because they had luggage storage with an app called “Radical Storage”. It turned out to be a great place to meet my friends for a coffee and lunch, pretty close to the Atlantic Ave train hub. Really good prices too :)

Canteen is the platonic ideal of a corner deli and friendly neighborhood drop in. Best value in town for omelettes and wraps. The breakfast potatoes are surprisingly delicious. Just to top it off - the owner, Usman, is an absolute gem of a human. Truly underrated gem in the neighborhood.

I come here all the time because I take dance lessons next door. Probably the best burgers you’re gonna get at a corner deli. Has a decent drink selection and some pastries, snacks and gum for people on the go. The crew there are super nice and friendly. This is a great little neighborhood place for snacks, sandwiches and juices. Their falafel sandwich is awesome. Only gave 4/5 starts because sandwiches are inconsistent order to order. One time there was so much sauce on my order it was hard to eat but the falafel and pita was still some of the best.

A great place for a quick sandwich or wrap in Park Slope. I go hear often after a late night at work since they are open until 11PM on the weekdays. The owner is always on site and is very friendly - he even remembers your orders for when you come in. I'd suggest the chicken wrap or the Canteen club. Everything they serve is freshly made, and their delivery is very quick.

Pretty decent deli. We've gotten some good sandwiches delivered from here. Delivery has been quick and correct each time so far. It has a few small tables for a quick coffee, but not really the kind of place to hang out. That being said, definitely a step up from tour basic bodega deli counter. So far, so good!

Great local deli. They offer healthy things like smoothies and have granola bars and almond milk for your coffee. Always happy to come here and support the local guys who have been there since I moved in 8 years ago. Consistent food and always reliable. They also have gluten free bread which means I can still fulfill my breakfast sandwich cravings post night out.

This Delicatessen was clean ppl in the store was nice and friendly. No complaints about the food. I enjoyed the noodle soup and my co-worker enjoyed the Spinach falafel wrap. Just remember this I'm just a picking eater and I did not complain.

Outrageous LA sandwich was meh- the turkey pastrami was good! But way heavy mayonnaise, lettuce seemed old, and seemed like too much hero for the ratio of sandwich filling. The staff is SUPER NICE! The atmosphere is rundown, the opposite of a canteen. BUT people seemed to like their juices and had plenty options that were affordable - which IS very like a “canteen”

What a cozy little place this is!!! Aside from the glare of the sun sitting directly on top of one side of your face, everyone here is polite, kind, and courteous. My girlfriend and I sat here for TWO cups of coffee, just talking about everything, and we really had an enjoyable time. Around early evening, it DOES get a tad bit chilly but the glass windows. I wouldn't mind going back again!

They messed up my order both times I’ve come here. First time they forgot to add cheese to my omelette, second time they forgot to add ham AND the breakfast potatoes which is like…one third of the meal…food is okay and staff is really nice, just make sure you double check what they give you.

I'm writing this review because I'm disappointed. I usually order for lunch delivery most days during the week because this place is close to work. Tonight, working late, I called for a dinner delivery and the same very polite person answered the phone as always. However, when I received my "well-done" burger with potatoe fries, I was surprised to see the burger was mostly filler and not real ground beef - and it certainly was not well done. Instead of spending the $13.61 for filler disguised as a burger, with fries and the bean soup, I'll order from that authentic burger place two blocks up on 5th and 2nd st. Oh, well - live & learn, I guess. The whole order wasn't worth the paper bag it came in.

Maybe be here in person if you’re considering this place—I ordered thru Chow Now, food not as pictured. “Sausage sandwich” listed sweet and hot Italian sausage, peppers, onions, on ciabatta. I received diced breakfast sausage on a white roll, or semolina, clearly not as porous as ciabatta. Veggies, there. Meat, no. Bread, no. Ironically, our “VEGETABLE omelette” included HAM!!! C’MON!!! Do better. Girlfriend is still hungry and I’m disappointed for spending the little money I have trying to “support local” thru smaller apps. Fresh juice saving our experience from one star.

This is in regard to booking for storage with the bounce app. Times were indicated incorrectly and they wouldn’t take my luggage.

Writing this on behalf of a friend: This morning 2/8/18 like every morning I walked into this establishment to buy my coffee. However this morning on my way into the store I had to use the bathroom before making my Coffee purchase. When I requested to use the restroom a male worker told me I had to pay the store $2.00 to use the restroom or leave due to The manager enforcing This rule. I told him that I was a regular customer and always purchase coffee here on my way to Work and really had to use the bathroom before doing so. He insisted on charging me a $2.00 fee which I paid cash for. I did not Receive a receipt for my “purchase” when i requested one and the man put the cash in his pocket and told me he did not make the rules. I will never go into This place again and I intend to spread the word to my neighbors and co workers who often go to This store.

$10 min for credit cards at a deli! I tried to order a breakfast sandwich and cappuccino and a juice (would have been enough) their juice machine wasn't working so no juice. Food and coffee made they wouldn't let me use my card, $7.95. Told me I could ORDER ONLINE if I wanted to......I walked out. Give me a break!!!!!!

They overcharged my card. Ordered a tuna sandwich on a hero and a turkey swiss on a roll. Came out to 15.79 in the store, (which is high by the way, can tell he made up the number on the spot), then charged my card 16.41.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches & 1 platter. Asked for home fries, over easy eggs & turkey bacon. I received No Home fries just a few onions & peppers, uncooked bacon on all orders, toast DRENCHED with butter, spoiled cream cheese with literally a drop of jelly! Couldn't even get my money back thru Door Dash! 😡 DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. These reviews have to be fake, they SUCK! Never ordering again we put the food where it belongs in the TRASH 🗑️.

The sandwich I ordered was pretty good . Unfortunately it was ruined by the soup that tasted like it came out of a can. The fries were definitely frozen fries and were soggy. Overall the food was pretty good for a quick lunch. The food felt over priced. Its unfortunate the food did not come in like it looked like in the other reviews.

I’ve been coming here for years. Tonight for the first time in years I was denied service by someone who treated me like a cockroach rather an a loyal customer who’s been coming here for YEARS. this mistreatment was enough to make me never want to eat here again. Might want to consider replacing your night shift because he’s so rude. Such a shame!

I ordered for delivery on grubhub and they messed up my entire order. I asked for Swiss cheese on the hungry man, they gave me American. I asked for turkey bacon on my blt, they gave me regular bacon. I ordered a side of home fries, they gave me french fries. I ordered a mocha latte, but didnt taste any mocha. Im highly disappointed. I used to get food from here all the time when I lived in the area. Finally got the opportunity to get food from here again and they ruined it.
