Castillo Restaurant Brooklyn Reviews
The food here is great & there soups amazing and delicious. Fresh mango juice is great for the soul.
The food was good, friendly staff. Read you receipt. Tip is already in the bill.
We were visiting from Canada and stopped in for a quick bite before an event just a few blocks away. The food was not only delicious, but also easy on the stomach and wallet. A great spot for a tasty Ecuadorian experience.
The food is amazing. I brought a few of my coworkers, different ethnicities, and they all said the food was great. We went there 3 days in a row and all 3 days the food was great.
Mind-blowing food (especially the tamales!), lovely service, and in a cute little building with a very comfortable atmosphere. I also got to try morocho for the first time - delicious! The only issue might be that the menu isn't super vegetarian friendly, but there are still a few options to satisfy.
This place is incredible. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my Ecuadorian friends mom would beat us with her flip flops for being rowdy street kids and then she'd feel bad for hitting us so she'd cook up a huge meal and feed us. The best Arrozz con Pollo and the empenadas are great. Im pretty sure somebody's grandma is cooking it up in the kitchen so don't mess around while you're in there cause you might get the flip flop too.
Wow! Those are just the words that come out of my mind I think about this food. First time for me and my brother was today, he had the rice paella as showed in the picture along with a typical Ecuadorian dish, food was flavorful and the portions were very good! Will definitely be back to try their other dishes, we also had the pineapple flavored natural Juice which is homemade didn’t get a picture of that cause I was just too hungry for all that. Definitely next. Chill vibe great ambiance and good for a romantic dinner
We enjoyed our dinner very much however the staff billed my credit card multiple times for the meal. I called them to reverse the extra charge and no one there was willing to look into it. They told me to "wait a few days and then come into to the restaurant if you want a refund." Now I'm on hold with my bank's chargeback center and feel less great about our fantastic meal.
The food was tasty and plentiful but the service wasn’t the best. Had to flag down a waitress in order for them to take the order. When the order came, I was missing the rice and beans and I had to flag down another waitress to get that. Roughly 30 minutes from stepping into the restaurant until taking the first bite. The waitresses were friendly and courteous and the atmosphere was okay.
I put 1 because there is no 0 stars. The place is dark like a bar. The food is horrible, the humitas they serve are the one you buy at the supermarket, the chaulafan/fried rice was mixed with chopped frankfurter, what is that? Besides they included 18% tip to the bill from the start. This was my first time there and I’m not planning to come back.
Definitely DO NOT order for Delivery, my coworkers and I ordered $100 worth of food we specifically asked for a LARGE meal which was $15 as you can see this is definitely not large, then we call them back Castillo response was “oh we thought you meant regular size”. Mistakes can be made but when the restaurant doesn’t try to rectify the mistake, then steps have to be taken to prevent another mistake for future customers.
First of all what I received wasn't the same thing that I ordered. I called them to let them know the lady laughed told me to contact customer service. Whatever that was with the pork was tasteless and the arroz con Pollo was basuraaaaa 🚮 (I wish I would've took a pic of that too). Grubhub gave me my money back but it was still terrible. 1/4 chicken was terrible too. Decided to order food for the fam and the quality of that food was embarrassing.
