Crown Inn Brooklyn Reviews
Great Bar cool atmosphere Awesome bartender named Monica (Shes the best) after only a few visits she remembered my drink of choice and always has a charming smile on.
My favorite bar in the whole city. Unpretentious vibe. Great bartenders. Cosy patio.
I.m new to the hood. Stopped in to see what's up. Eclectic crowd nice vibe, good garden. Bartender Jeremy really chill.i don't drink but made a mean cranberryand seltzer
Solid happy hour rates and a huge collection of beverages to choose from. Top notch bar with a great atmosphere.
This spot is go to bar spot for me. Reasonably priced drink and good atmosphere. Great bar in the neighborhood!
Great outdoor space, interesting scene there are some regulars and a good young scene. A mix of first dates and friend meetup spot.
One of favorite places in crown heights. Come here often after work to meet friends. Love the backyard during the warmer weather.
Nice bar with seasonal taps and plenty of whiskeys. Lots of wood dim lighting and subway tile. Very Brooklyn hipster. Not completely loathable.
Great spot.. Great vibe.. U can always find friends to mingle with... And great drinks and great music... I just wish they would jave some dancing available too..
Classic vibes, strong drinks, indoor and outdoor seating, and always seems to be fairly full of patrons whenever I visit!
Great heated outdoor space in the front and the back. Service was wonderful and mulled wine was really tasty. Highly recommended!
Great bar in the neighborhood - staff are friendly and helpful. Happy hour goes till 8pm which is really nice. Get the Bells 2 heart IPA or the nitro stout.
If you like a good dive bar this is your spot !! Kool people and kool vibe !! Brea is a top notch bartender !!
Great indoor and outdoor spaces, and consistently likeable bartenders and patrons. Never had a bad time there (though glad my girlfriend came to walk me home that one time. My bad).
Nice quaint little bar. We started out next sure but the music was unbearably loud so we switched over. Very pleasant environment and easy to carry a conversation...
The bartender (Zenya??) was FANTASTIC!! A true professional, personable, making perfectly executed drinks. The ambiance is really charming-good date night spot!!!
Cozy bar with a nice outdoor seating. The bar is very cozy and has lots of seating. The bartenders are nice quick and courteous. Great place to stop by and get a drink or two.
I just adore this place. The bartender was so awesome and cool! Great drinks. Great spot. Brianna took the best care of me!
great place to chill with w couple friends. nice small menu with delicious veggie options.Beef and pork if you want it. wood themed one back patio is nice. chill music.
Matt and Dan were awesome. Must go and ask for these two!!!
Nice neighborhood bar with a patio in the back.
Awesome dive early in the night and a party later on. The bartenders are attentive and very friendly. Couldn't recommend this place more highly.
Magical bar full of magical people and bartenders.
This place was amazing. From out of you're but was treated like family to some very well made drinks. I hope I get to visit again.
Even though it was extremely busy when I came, I was served within minutes of getting the bartenders attention. They were completely on it and I really appreciate it, I will be back, it might be my new local spot.
This has been my bar of choice in Brooklyn for over a year now, with its drink specials, low prices, and friendly staff, but things got way better when I hosted a birthday party here last week. The owner was kind enough to reserve a large space in the outdoor area. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable. They even delayed closing the outdoor area for a half hour! When it came time to close down, they didn’t rush any of us out; rather, they kindly let us know that they were closing and let us take our time so long as we didn’t leave our glassware outside :) I can’t stress enough how much I recommend the Crown Inn to everyone! I’ll be back again for sure - and there’s no doubt in my mind where I’ll be celebrating my next birthday!
Since moving to the area this has been my local. The entire staff is solid. Very personable, down to earth, and willing to have a convo. Can make some good craft cocktails, and is always attentive even during the rush. They don't put up with BS, which as a regular I like. It's not a party bar, more - a good bar to chat with your mates and enjoy good company surrounding you.
Great low key place to have drinks. Super chill staff so long as you don't get rude and obnoxious. If that's your style, expect to wait for your drinks. Any of the food reviews here are way outdated, they used to have various pop up / resident vendors cycle through, but not for a long time. They're cool with you bringing in food or getting delivery though, which is dope.
Perfect for dates, friends, family, and the occasional tourists. The Crown offers a good mix of tasty, reasonably-priced cocktails and affordable, well-curated wine and beer selection. The best for casual conversation, good music and a friendly staff and clientele to meet new people.
The crowd is more young adults, mature, drinks are good price and made really good. They had 60s and 70s music playing which really helped set the mood. Will definitely go back there when I want to pregame before I go dancing :)
Everyone who works here is super kind and the vibe is very comfortable and laid back. My new go to for people watching, hanging out, reading a book, etc. i feel safe going here as a woman, alone. That says a lot! This place is a gem ❤️
One of my favorite bars I have happened across. Great, reasonably priced cocktails. Great beer selection. Even better atmosphere. Cool spot.
I had a great time there tonight! The is atmosphere is great! And the bartenders are super nice! I recently moved into the neighborhood and I think this is going to become one of my local favorites!
Mostly a beer bar, but they have a good selection of booze too. Wouldn't go in for the cocktails - bartenders are usually too busy (and it's not really the place). Good happy hour (beer and wine on the cheap!), and good backyard make up for the cramped interior and sometimes shady clientele.
Great bar. Real cocktails (not a bunch of fruit drinks), nice interior, open patio in back. Tuesday Trivia Nights are fun.
Pretty new bar on Franklin Ave but it's usually crowded on weekend nights. Really intimate setting makes it a great place to take a date. Beer selection is on par with other local joints, but the atmosphere makes it really hip. A little more pretentious than your average sports bar or beer garden in the neighborhood, but it's a great late-evening spot to grab drinks with a few friends or make some new ones.
Great patio, so cute here!! Hot cider was delicious. Dog friendly too!
I recently took a date to the Crown Inn after passing it every time I walked home from the Franklin 4 subway stop. The weather was unnaturally warm so I discovered that they also have a back patio which is large enough to fit several parties without sitting on top of one another. The interior has perfect what I like to tern as "date lighting" - light enough to see your beer and their highlights and dark enough to hide all your fidgets and their facial flaws. And if you start making out in the corner, you wont stick out under the usual bar inspection-type lighting. The bar itself is long and staked with great craft beers - but be careful of some of the locals on tap, they can be pretty pricey, and served in a wine like tasting glass, which as a beer drinker, made me feel too ladylike and little uncomf. But hey, to each their own. All the bartenders are wonderful, tatted, and usually bearded and make for wonderful conversation on any night of the week. Eric is the coolest so say hit to him and ask him how his band is doing while youre there. Easy one of my favorite Crown Heights staple bars.
I love this place, street seating, cool back yard, and the inside is dimly lit and super romantic. $12 cocktails and nice bartenders
This place was beautiful. The atmosphere was inviting, and drinks was good . Bar tender was on point...... nice place to chill
The Crown Inn is basically the social center of Crown Heights right now. It's warm, inviting, friendly, and incredibly social. After even a few visits you'll start to see familiar faces. And while they have a great beer list (with great prices) the bartenders also make fantastic cocktails both on menu and off.
Great beer selection, really friendly bartenders, a really cool Crown Heights community spot. Have been here a couple times before moving recently to Propect Heights, and returned recently on a busy Friday. The place was jumping. The tables in back are great for groups (if you can get them in advance of other folks on Thurs-Sat).
Fantastic neighborhood bar, great staff, great backyard area. Nice cocktail list, perfect for a date or just relaxing after work.
Such a great little find! The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. He made a simple syrup my cousin and I were lucky enough to try in a drink and it was really interesting and delicious. The whole place was really lovely and the experience was great- would love to come back here!
Great location and atmosphere, plenty of outdoor seating. Great diverse mixed crowd. There are plenty drinks to choose from the menu but the friendly staff will mix whatever cocktail you like..mines was "Fall in a Glass" it was great..and they don't skim on the alcohol either..
Good Vibes & Good Drinks. Came across this establishment during our hunt for a nice bar with good music and decent drinks. The bar had sizeable amount of patrons along with music that was enjoyable for all. I strongly recommend this establishment if you're in the Brooklyn area and looking for a good drink and a good vibe.
If you’re looking for your neighborhood redesigned, refurbished and welcoming version of “Cheers” then this is the place to go to! Between their awesome bartenders and staff, the cool drinks and the wonderful array of red and white wines they have I would suggest nothing else on this block to go to! Pure vibes!🥰🥰🍺🍺🍻🍻🍷🍷🥃🥃
Dark, intimate bar with backyard and street seating options. Interior is well renovated, and they have a lot of private areas where you can sit and talk. Pretty affordable, and they have a wide selection of draft beers and cocktails. A good spot for a date.
I’ve been going here for over a decade. Tasty affordable drinks, warm ambiance and incredibly kind bartenders. Tons of space too with a backyard!
I had a going away party at Crown Inn and from the beginning the staff were super helpful from reserving tables, asking my questions leading up to the party, and making sure we were taking care of. This is the perfect bar to gather with friends and have a great time. You can also bring outside food which is a nice plus!
Great welcoming space good for privacy with big tables to accommodate lots of friends.
Good happy hour deal and the trivia nights seem like a good time. I usually come here yo grab a beer and stare at my screen
The nicest people to work with! Had a birthday gathering at Crown Inn and the team went above and beyond when it started storming that same night to make sure we had room to celebrate.
Crown Inn is the best! We used their backyard for our post-wedding brunch. The staff was amazing, the mimosas were flowing, and the space was perfect.
Best bar in Crown Heights. Staff are so kind and attentive. Owner is amazing. Trivia — and trivia host — are the best!
Very good cocktails and ample sitting, bar, tables or back section. Music wasn't the greatest but nice for a stop during bar hopping.
Crown Inn is a great neighborhood spot, and the owner and staff are very welcoming. Had my partner's birthday party here and they took great care of us. Has everything you'd want in a local bar including great music.
The Crown Inn is an exceptionally wonderful neighborhood bar - everyone who works there is warm, friendly, and helpful. This is a great gathering spot any time of the year and an utterly unpretentious and welcoming place. I love their backyard and the bar offers NA choices like Athletics and other brands for any non-drinkers. So happy this place exists! A true neighborhood watering hole where there is always a great vibe.
The most reliable spot on Franklin Avenue for beer on tap, a nice wine, a staple signature cocktail. Popular joint, nice bartenders, swell backyard patio. Been around awhile for a reason. Nice dark interior with all the vibes. After 10 or so can get crowded on weekends, mostly in a good way. Get there in the pm after they open at 4 for a straightforwardly close space to have a chat. Wonderful place to spot a drink with friends before or after dinner. Great location on Franklin. It’s a bar you want in your neighborhood and the people you find there are usually the ones you wanted to find.
great local watering hole with a dive feel but it presents like a very typical loungesque spot. great selection of drinks and a really nice mixed up crowd, the bartenders are really nice and felt very welcoming in general. really enjoyed my sour beer and the margaritas were strong and delicious. can't wait to come back.
This was a great bar with low key vibe. We got there at 1am the thr music was upbeat and tge drinks were flowing. I ordered a spiced apple cider with bourbon. It was amazing. The 5qst of the holidays mixed with the warmed of a NYC feel gave me what I needed. It was definitely a sipping drink with enough alcohol to put everything in the right perspective
Visited The Crown Inn for the first time last week and absolutely fell in love with this bar! The bartender was super nice and welcom. I did not know which cocktail to order and he asked me about my preferences and created an amazing cocktail! Honestly, the best I have ever had. The atmosphere and interior are beautiful and chill. Definitely will come back to try some new cocktails.
A welcome bar experience, coming out of these covid times. Good beer list at reasonable prices, tasty cocktails, good atmosphere, friendly (and efficient) staff, cozy back yard. We decided to stay for more drinks since we were having such a good time and just ordered taco takeout (they allow outside food). I will be back, several more times.
Dare I say, this is the best bar on Franklin ave, this side of Fulton? I mean, where do I start? The staff are all so friendly, so welcoming and knowledgeable. It’s just a GREAT bar. You just want a corona and a shot? No problem. You want Cutty Sark near? You got it. Oh, you want that pre prohibition era cocktail called the Last Word? Yeah, they can make it. Which leads to another point: What a great selection of spirits. The selection stretches from one end of the bar to the other. Nine beers on tap and 10 bottled beers to pick from. Now, why I keep coming back? It’s like cheers in this joint. Come here often enough and everyone knows your name and says hi! Making the overall experience much more delightful.
It was a cool place just for having a few drinks with friends
Chill vibes, a bit cramped but their backyard is great! Full of mosquitoes but worth it. Decent beer options.
Went here for late night drinks with a buddy of mine who lives in the area. It's a great atmosphere and the people are really friendly. Also, the bartenders really know how to make a drink here 👌
Not too shabby. For some reason I always thought this place was going to be a dive bar but it was much nicer than I was expecting. The lighting is perfect after sundown, it really sets a nice mood.
A very solid establishment with a good beer list. Came here late night during the blizzard of 2016 (it was one of the only places open) and there was a pretty decent crowd.
Dark drink establishment with the nice bar staff and a great backyard. Liquor collection is impressive, but the cocktail menu was not expansive.
Good prices, nice vibe. The bartender was kind of a stiff, however. Moscow Mule was just right. Beer was cold.
Cool, mood lit bar with good drinks and a decent beer selection. It can get pretty loud inside, but they have a nice outdoor patio.
I live directly above this bar and I've concluded that it's pretty good. Awesome beer selection, killer sandwiches. The backyard is a great place to relax (although please keep your voice down as I might be right upstairs). Staff is friendly and the wooden decor makes you feel like you're in an old train car.
Nice bar in Crown Heights with a kind of speakeasy vibe. Nice atmosphere and decent cocktails. Apparently it has a great outdoor patio that's great for drinking in the summer, although I haven't actually seen this myself (was winter when I went in)
Went there for a few drinks after work. It wasn't too crowded and they played music to suit pretty much everyone's taste. As for the drinks they were pretty good. The bartender was very attentive and patient when taking our orders.
This is the kind of bar that's perfect for just hanging out with a few friends, but it's still got enough atmosphere to take a date along. The tap selection is usually on-point and the cocktail menu is great. My biggest complaint is that the music is often insanely loud! It's not a college bar and I don't want to have to yell for someone to hear me all night :/
Great place to meet a friend or two if you are in the area for a drink. Well made Cocktails and a full to bursting binder of food menus so you can order in. Not as great for large groups since the seating tends to be in twos and threes. Grat Happy Hour.
Cozy spot, good vibes and plenty of seating. Also prices were amazing, the basement emitting a strange humming of demonic origin and red candlelight was strange but I'm not one to judge. Tenouttaten.
This bar is affectionately known as a hookup bar, so I learned. It definitely caters towards that vibe. It's very dimly lit and perfect for slurred words and drunk kisses in the dark while sipping well made and reasonably priced cocktails. The bartender makes a good old fashioned on a Saturday night. The scene is full of those hipsters turned yuppies who have pretty much overrun the commercial strip that is Franklin Avenue. I guess I can count myself as apart of that crowd I suppose. *shrugs* Get a seat in the window and watch how quickly life can change on the street if there's space. It can get quite crowded in here quite quickly on a Saturday night. The bar seemed to be reserved for friends of the bartender who want to chat all night.
Food is ok, beer was excellent. Way to expensive.
Great spot! Drinks are tasty and staff is friendly. The servers are adept at servicing large evening crowds despite the somewhat small space. Head to the back or table nooks across from the bar for the coziest experience. The mulled cider was awesome!
Great bartenders and great vibe. Root beer dark and stormy is delicious. The bartender was very engaging. My drink was a bit too sweet for my taste, and the bartender fixed it without a problem. The place has tables all along, but a lot of people stand at the bar. When I went, there was only one bathroom. I don't know if there's another that was out of service, but the line was long. Cavernous vibe. Good music. Nice crowd. Cool bartenders. That was fun, let's go again! Crown Inn often has a really great selection of interesting beers and wine with mostly reasonable cocktail prices. They have a sizeable backyard for the nicer months. The staff is great - really warm and inviting. The layout, space planning and design are awful. This bar gets packed - and it is most every weekend. When you get even a slight crowd in Crown Inn the front and back of the bar are basically inaccessible, one from the other. The restrooms, majority of the bar frontage and seating are all located exactly where the bottle neck occurs. So you can never get a drink, you're constantly sidling people and apologizing for stepping on their toes. The only place worse on Franklin, in terms of space planning, is Chavela's down the block. Don't get me wrong, I like Crown and I'll go back. And it's great they are doing well for themselves with how packed they are. But, hot damn, do they need to move some things around to make the place habitable. Bottom line, if you don't like awkwardly packed bars, avoid Crown Thursday through Saturday. Oh and they used to have a cool sandwich pop-up in the back. That was cool. Bummer it's gone.
Quaint kinda cozy hella busy the drinks are mid and I wasnt impressed the drinks were a lil weak and watered down
Read this review! 2024 This is a pretty quiant place with an intimate atmosphere with a somewhat rustic vibe. I will say the happy hour is pints only and ends at 7. Some reviews may mislead you as they're a bit outdated. My friend and I had the mango margarita and they are pretty good! Cocktails go from about $13-15. Outside food is allowed and highly recommended as this place does not (to my knowledge) have a kitchen.
This place is simply okay. Not a great selection of drinks, and the service is acceptable. For reference, this didn’t even get a “stop by if you’re in the neighborhood” on my own map/ranking system.
Great bar with a thoroughly unpleasant bartender. Hi Crown Inn Owner, I was in the process of ordering 4 drinks for 4 people, when our bartender got frustrated at how long we were taking. She cursed me out, and refused to take the rest of the orders from me. I had to explain to my guest that he had to order his own drink because the bar tender was ignoring me. I enjoyed the bar, and the music, and the crowd, but I couldn’t order a drink because i was afraid this bartender would snap. Hope this helps her wake up when it comes to customer service :/
I had a really nice time here! Everyone is very nice and friendly and it’s very welcoming. However, the girl at the bar was very, very nasty, not the girl who wears the pink hair but the slender one with the tattoos. She worked Friday May 10th. She was very rude and nasty. I felt like she was prejudice because of the remark she stated to me. I had a whole soda in a glass and my man had 2 beers sitting right in front of me, we turned our heads for a second and she threw all of our drinks out just that fast and when I lifted my arm up to get her attention she stated “DON’T REACH FOR ME! I DONT LIKE TO BE REACHED FOR!!!” She said it very angrily and nasty and loud and others heard it as well! I wish I would’ve thought to get her name so that I could’ve posted it. I would’ve asked for a manager but didn’t want to cause a scene since everyone else was so nice!
Same people around the bar every single day causing problems. The bartenders gives free drinks to their friends. Bartender known as wolf and the others are unprofessional. The bar has a beautiful design, and great nightlife The owner is a wonderful & very professional person!
