Daughter Coffee Brooklyn Reviews
Here’s a polished, thoughtful review you can post on Google, Yelp, or social media: ⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a great experience at The Butcher’s Daughter in Williamsburg! The atmosphere is bright, cozy, and beautifully designed — it feels welcoming the moment you walk in. It’s the perfect spot for brunch or a relaxed lunch with friends. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. Overall, it’s a great place if you’re looking for healthy, delicious food in a stylish setting. I’ll definitely be coming back!
So beautiful! Gorgeous food, so many amazing options for vegan food and non-alcoholic drinks. Gorgeous interiors, great location and the wait staff were just lovely. The Daughter Water spritz with pineapple juice was delicious, as was my salad (which was really big!). Can’t wait to go back, especially as this Brooklyn location was so much less crowded and more chill than the manhattan one
I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of gluten-free options that were both creative and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The service was outstanding – the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole dining experience even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, enjoyable vibe.
# The Butcher's Daughter: A Vegetarian Delight in the Heart of the City I recently visited The Butcher's Daughter, a vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a bright, inviting atmosphere that immediately transported me to a vacation-like setting. Despite its meat-centric name, this establishment is fully committed to plant-based cuisine - and executes it brilliantly. ## Atmosphere & Service Walking in, you're greeted by an airy, well-lit space that exudes a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. The décor strikes a perfect balance between casual and upscale, making it suitable for both a casual lunch and a nice dinner out. What particularly impressed me was how the restaurant has established such a clear identity - it knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to be anything else. The service was impeccable - attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. They even welcome dogs, which is a nice touch for pet owners. ## The Food We started with the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings, which were nothing short of a revelation. The texture and flavor were so spot-on that they momentarily made me forget what actual buffalo wings taste like - high praise for a vegetarian alternative. For mains, we ordered the Butcher's Daughter Burger and a Vermicelli Bowl. The burger was genuinely one of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever encountered. Made with mushroom and quinoa, the patty had an almost medium-rare texture with a slight sweetness that paired perfectly with the grilled onions. What impressed me most was how the burger functioned as a cohesive dish - not just a collection of individual ingredients but a harmonious whole where every element contributed to a singular experience. The Vermicelli Bowl was refreshing and light - perfect for summer dining. The tofu was expertly grilled with a crispy exterior that gave it an almost cheese-like quality. While it was a fairly standard Vietnamese dish, it was executed with precision and care. ## Value What struck me was the reasonable pricing. Unlike many vegetarian/vegan establishments that charge premium prices, The Butcher's Daughter offers fair value relative to other restaurants in the area. The portions were satisfying without being overwhelming. ## Final Thoughts The Butcher's Daughter earns top marks across the board - 10/10 for atmosphere, service, and food. It's rare to find a restaurant that excels in all these areas simultaneously. While the food might take slightly longer to arrive, it's clearly because they're working with fresh ingredients and paying attention to detail. Whether you're a committed vegetarian or just looking to enjoy a meat-free meal, this place delivers an experience that doesn't feel like a compromise. I'm already craving that burger again, which says everything about how good it was. The restaurant also offers an extensive drink menu, making it a great spot even if you're just in the mood for beverages. I'll definitely be returning, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience that happens to be plant-based.
One of my favorite spots in Williasmburg. The food is always fresh and creative—my last meal included the cauliflower cacio e pepe and zucchini carbonara, both were so good. I also had one of their tiny martinis (they’re $10 on Tuesdays!) and it was perfect. It’s the kind of place that works for any occasion—brunch with friends, a solo coffee, or dinner and drinks. The space is beautiful without trying too hard, and the staff is always kind. If you’re local, you probably already know this place is solid. And if you’re visiting, it’s a great mix of good design, great food, and a chill vibe.
Great place for both having a nice brunch in the area int he morning and grabbing some wine and tapas in the evening. For the brunch menu they have amazing tofu shakshuka which is difficult to find, so the place is very VG friendly. On Wednesdays they have 1/2 price for all the wines which makes experience even nicer (wine and tapas are great).
Fantastic experience! The warm cous cous was so balanced and refreshing. The shaksuka was perfections we loved the crispy chickpeas the flavors where great The gem salad was beautiful it was crunchy and flavorful Cocktails were also great, and Jordan did a great job guiding through some favorites.
I went for Brunch and ordered their famous The Best Egg Sandwich. Indeed, it was the best egg sandwich I've tasted so far in my life!!! And the juice flight was pretty interesting too. My server, Victor, was Excellent. Very accommodating and delivered exemplary service, topnotch. Cheers to The Butcher's Daughter!!!
Definitely enjoyed our last experience dining here. Been to this location twice now and both times have been enjoyable. The food is really yummy, the juice flight was yummy and fun to try! The chilaquiles were good but not enough sauce and I forgot to ask for the eggs to be fried hard. The burrito was delish! The only downside is that the seats were a little uncomfortable, it’s pretty packed in and the music was too loud to hear each other over. They also gave a back area you can sit in which has a little more space and the music wasn’t as loud. [the other time I went with a friend and had the waffles. Very good waffles but small and thin. Not very filling. I added a side of scrambled tofu which helped. I wouldn’t order again if you are actually hungry lol]
Great staff, friendly and professional!!! Loved the welcoming and the courtesy! Great atmosphere too, super cute and relaxed spot! I was a bit disappointed by the veggie burger, I would say far too thick and the chips a bit too hard! The bread of the mushrooms toast must have been toasted a bit better! The waffles were to die for and amazingly good as Gluten free and vegan alternative!!!
I spoiled my vegetarian friend by bringing her here before she traveled back to CA. She enjoyed the food so much and she help me pick what good as I'm not a vegan. We order... - 2 booster shots: our server forgot the order, so we got them at the end. I had this kind of shot before, but their shots were very good. 10/10 - Daily Soup: came in big bowl so we just share it 8/10 - Gem Salad: interesting taste 8/10 - Spicy Kale Caesar: crunchy and delicious 9/10 Funny story about how I know this restaurant. I live in the neighborhood, and I always walk my dog around the area. I saw this restaurant had open space and seats on the sidewalk with very natural tree and plants decorated all around. I just loved it and one time I was hanging out with another group of friends that weren't vegan. We were hungry and want to eat somewhere and I brought them here :) After my non vegan friend saw the menu in front of the restaurant, she made fun of me then we went somewhere else. I still wanted to try the food here but didn't have chance to come since ppl around me only eat meat. So, this was a great time because I had a vegetarian friend came visited and I DID IT!
Dine-in can be reasonably good depending on what you order, but don't order anything to-go as things are often missed, poorly packed, or there is corner cutting like getting one egg instead of two, weird ingredient ratios, or really small amounts of salad dressing/sauce compared to what you get when you eat there. This might just be nostalgia talking but I feel like the overall quality and consistency has dipped significantly over the years. Tempeh is totally unseasoned (as if they sliced and cooked it with nothing added) and specialty lattes are light on the add-ins like turmeric. Sometimes the zucchini carbonara is so bland that it tastes like absolutely nothing but milky raw zucchini. I've had almost all these dishes at their best so I know what they're supposed to taste like. I also used to come here for quality homemade almond milk lattes but now they use pretty basic ingredients / boxed milks.
I had high expectations going in, as it was a franchise restaurant I'd heard about many times. It took about 25 minutes for our menus to arrive. I asked if I could hang my bags on the hangers. The employee rudely asked why I was asking. Anyway He told me to do it myself, so I hung them up. Then another employee suddenly grabbed our bags and roughly threw them on the floor. I was like 🤨 "Are these your bags? You can't leave them there." He then stormed off. Is the food so good that the employees can be so rude? That's not even it. The latte was already super hot, but it was served in a glass cup, making it hard to hold. Like everybody knows that hot drinks should be in the mugs. The pancakes were just plain bland. I poured a ton of syrup on them to feel the taste of the food. I knew why american vegan food taste poor lol If you're really into Instagram photos, go here. The plating was a bit okay. But I'll never go back. Oh, and when I asked the staff if there was a discount with the hotel, they snickered and asked why I was only mentioning it now. LOL I understand that working and giving service is tiring sometimes. But at least respect your customers as customers respect you employees and we all know what tip means
Got this as what is supposed to be a BLT sandwich. They forgot to put cheese and arugula which were in the description. Instead of an actual avocado I got a tiny spread of avocado sauce. The bread slices are kids size. Pretty much just got some sauce, a slice of tomato and a "rice bacon". Thought they must be joking. Never ever in NY have I seen a more laughable sandwich. Kitchen quality controls? - never heard of it…
