El Rey V Restaurant Brooklyn Reviews
I MISS this place so much. Lived in Bushwick for nine years and I think weekly went here! ♥️
This place has the best chicken soup in Brooklyn! Service is always friendly and the food is rich and delicious. Neighborhood staple and great for grabbing a meal after a long day at work.
The food is absolutely delicious, customer service is amazing. I couldn’t ask for more, their delicious desserts are perfect. The price is perfect. Whenever I go there, I always get something specific. Here are my recommendations, Yellow rice and beans with ribs and yellow plantain. Home fries eggs and bacon. And the desserts. They also have freshly squeezed organic juices that are absolutely scrumptious. Highly recommend go there.
Skip the new chichi places in the neighborhood and experience authentic Latin American soul food from this local stalwart. The cooks are courteous, accessible, and will cook anything anyway you want. The portions are generous and the prices are affordable. There are tasty vegetarian dishes options too.
The customer service was spot on !! The lady behind the counter was very helpful and nice . The food was good and plentiful. Prices are understandable for the portion size and the food is worth it 😋. We will be going back soon.
This is one of my favorite places to grab a bit to eat by myself. The service is amazing. The staff always take good care of me when I visit. The food is decent.
Great little local restaurant. Was staying in Brooklyn for a bit and there’s nothing like these type of spots. Great home cooked type food! Came here twice, once for some quick empanadas for breakfast and the other for lunch. Rotisserie chicken, rice, beans and vegetables for $20(USD). Great price, great portion, great food & great people.
The food is authentic and fresh. The smoothies are fresh and delicious. I ordered a whole roasted chicken, fried fish and macaroni salad for a small gathering I was having. The chicken was cooked well and the fish was absolutely delicious. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5, I ordered a large Carrot and Orange juice. Was given Carrot and grapefruit juice instead.
I mean the food is mid and I think you can get better food for less price. Overrated in my opinion but the workers seem to be nice.
I was really excited to try this place as my friend highly recommended it. The food was kinda sad, the chicken was dry and the spaghetti was not expected especially Dominican spaghetti!! The lady at the front was very nice but the food was so mid! The guava tres leche was the bulk of this review !! I don’t think I’ll be coming back
I’ve gotten food from here quite a few times, usually the same thing and it’s good. This morning I got two chicken empanadas and came home to eat it. My first bite, there was something hard in my mouth, and when I took it out, it was a piece of bone. Not wanting to ruin my first meal of the day I took a few more bites, hoping it was a one time thing, but instead found two more pieces of bone. I didn’t finish the first one and definitely didn’t start the second one. I called the store to let them know since I couldn’t go back in and the woman said “oh I’m so sorry.” Yeah, I’m sorry I could’ve cracked a tooth or choked on a bone too.
We tried this place based on the ratings. It did not exceed our expectations. The food was set up buffet style but cold. We were sold large portions. The beef was tough and the chicken was dry. It was not seasoned to my expectations. I felt robbed even though I left a tip. The staff was very nice. But we were not greeted. They also wore no gloves.
I was told before ordering here not to order here lol but I decided to anyway because I was craving this kind of food , when people say looks are deceiving that goes for food as well because the food looked good but it was not , the rice and peas tasted like it was burnt every single grain of rice tasted like it was burnt I tried to eat it but I could not I had my family try just to make sure I wasn’t tripping and they agreed smh . The pork had no flavor it just wasnt good at all. They fell off terribly I used to come when I was a child and this was the spot but that'll be the last time .
Got over charged. Not making a big deal out of it but do add up your total before hand. Steak sandwich $6.25 (not even that good) W/extra cheese. $0.50 Papaya shake $4.00 (decent but the cup is half full, the rest is foam. Drink start at red line pictured below) Cheese pastelillos $1.50 (×2) (cold/hard) Total should have been $12.25 I was charged $16... no tax cuz i paid cash not by card. Idk if its me but the math doesnt add up. Even if there was tax, its not gonna be $4 in taxes
