El Viejo Yayo 2 Brooklyn Reviews
I ordered online every week. I love their rotisserie chicken. I ordered either meal for 2 or for 3 The Rice portions it is on the small size. We Spanish people eat a lot of rice. Lol Beans is ok but the chicken never a complaint from me. . It is always perfect. I can eat it by itself. Price is always reasonable. Uber Eats delivery is always fast from there to me. Never a long wait. I recommended this place.
Great atmosphere, food and service. The ladies were amazing, the only issue was the guy that works there put our specially made cake on the stove. By the time we noticed, there was a huge cracks in it! The ladies did a great job of fixing it as best they could. All in all everyone had a great time and the cake was just a blip.
I have been there several times in the past. This time we all strayed from the standard chicken rice and beans. This Dominican Restaurant is located in the heart of Park Slope. The food have the wonderful flavors of the Islands. We had a wonderful time and the wait staff was really nice. Food was reasonably priced. Bathroom was really clean. There was no wait and they took reservations.
The food is good. The people is nice. Prices are fair. I like it here.
The decor of this restaurant is dated and the service was slow since only one waitress working during lunch hour. However, the food is so tasty same as the drinks. We definitely like their paella it’s the best one we had so far in Brooklyn. It’s our first time to try Mofongo we sure like it very much also.
French fries are bland taste old, and the steak and onion hero no flavor.
Came here the other day since my son was craving rice and beans. Food was pretty ok he had white rice and red beans and fried boneless chicken which were pretty flavorful, the restaurant was clean, the only downside is the customer service even though the waitress was very nice, she was working by herself counter and dinning room, but overall a good experience.
The food was awful, dry and burned the chef should be fired the food at the counter was good. no tip was given I don't know why the chef thought that he can give customers this kind of svc..... 3/2/26
Wow, I was expecting this to be good based on their history of multiple restos in Park Slope for well over 10 years. Maybe I was foolish for ordering seafood here, but it’s so prominent on the menu that I expected it to be good. I started with the shrimp cocktail, which consisted of tailless butterflied shrimp on top of chopped lettuce and cocktail sauce. The taste was ok, and the shrimp were sub-par but… decent, I guess, but what an unusual presentation. I felt like I was competing with the pile of lettuce to get enough cocktail sauce. I’m pretty sure shrimp cocktail gets served everywhere else in a cocktail glass for a reason. Then I had 6 baked clams. They were just gross, and I didn’t finish them. I normally LOVE baked clams and order them any time they’re on a menu, but these felt and tasted like they came frozen, then sat in a refrigerator for days before being quickly reheated. Service was ok, but the place itself was disheveled and the bar stools all had miscellaneous stuff in front of them, like water pitchers (and water covering the counter below them), POS systems and stuff like that. Not a comfortable place to sit and (not) enjoy a quick meal.
To be honest, as soon as my family and I walk in, the attendant was rude and not very professional. It took a while for us to get seated. Once we sat down it took for ever to get our food. Once food arrived at our table all the food that was ordered was very cold. My experience was not enjoyable.😠Do Not Recommend!
I’ve been dining at this restaurant since I was a kid. I even had my middle school graduation lunch here. I loved coming here with my family, the food and service were good…until I found a roach in my take home soup 🪳🤮🤢 this is a deal breaker for me. I’m heartbroken because the food is good but I can’t stomach the fact I could’ve eaten the roach. As diners, we blindly trust the kitchen is keeping up sanitary conditions to avoid roaches from getting in the food. I ordered asopao de camarones and got asopao de camarones y cucaracha 😭
Completely racist towards black people I went in to pay for my food that I already pre ordered and everyone ignored me but when uber eats came they paid attention too them I just wanted to pay for my food and the lady and the men ignored me and this isn’t the first time this happened the service is horrible especially if you don’t look or speak Spanish
Order Cuban & Pork Sandwiches to go. Both sandwiches were so dry and not good. With the Cuban sandwich, can you spare the pickles - no ham, no sauce. Pork sandwich had not sauce or condiment at all. Shameful sandwiches. Will never go again.
My family of 12 and I were thee on Saturday March 22 2025 at 6:00 pm. The waitress was not happy to see such a large crowd even thought the place was not full, many empty tables. The back was very hot, they gave us warm bread with so much garlic it was horrible. She came to our table once to take our orders, then again to clear the table. She was not friendly or welcoming to us. The food was so bad also. The white rice smelled funny and tasted old, chicken had no flavor. It was a bad and very expensive experience for us. We all decided not to return to this place again, which is a shame as they were one of our favorite spots in Park Slope Brooklyn!!!! They need to do better for the community!!
I've been to this place several times and the food and service has been good. I have no clue what happened today but it was the strangest experience ever. First we asked the waitress before we sat down if we could sit outside which she just dismissed us and replied that someone is sitting there. Just to clarify, they were not customers, they were random people sitting there because they just got up and left shortly after. Once we sat down, the waitress stood by staring at us and asked us if we were ready to order. We didn't even open the menus yet and she was already asking?? Odd. We order a round of beers and she returned with waters, the beers and a basket of butter bread. Not only did the bread look old but sliced bagels too. What in the fudge?? Once we finally ordered and the food came out, which to me was good as I expected, we found a piece of plastic in the rice. Clearly after that we were done with the food and the "experience". No, I did not bother to tell the waitress because the easiest thing to do is pay and leave and inform others to avoid this place. It is such a shame a nice Spanish restaurant has fallen to such a low since the last time I was there. No bueno
