Fausto Brooklyn Reviews
Went for a casual dinner at the bar after the movies. For a fancier experience I’d say book a table. The potatoes and spicy vodka were SO GOOD. Very simple meals done perfectly. Have tried to recreate the potatoes at home unsuccessfully. Will be back!
brilliant meal. first, we got VERY LUCKY and walked in without a reservation and got a clutch table. kudos to the host for problem-solving and getting us in at a busy time. the waitstaff were friendly, fun and helped us select the right amount of food for our party that was balanced and created a spectacular food experience. the bursts of delight from the arancini, beet carpaccio, lamb -- seriously... EVERYTHING was more incredible than the bite of the thing before. we shared and loved it all around our table. the cappelletti was a new adventure for us -- and it was magic. most of all, we felt the entire team, from host, bartender, to servers, those crumbing the table, to kitchen alchemists were working in tandem to ace every detail seamlessly. plus, we learn the phrase, "fire the next dish." it was perfect fire.
Wine, service and food are excellent. The salads and veggie dishes are great, and I love the lamb ragu with saffron.
This place is super high-end. All the food options are incredible. The service is top-notch. If you want a special night, look no further.
Food was very good. Cauliflower salad was a complex mix of flavors that really worked well together. Housemade pasta’s were cery good. We loved the desserts. Service staff was friendly and helpful
I find value in both the meals and the area. I found myself impressed by the restaurant's look. Staff members provide impeccable attention with remarkable dishes. Their staff attitudes are consistently positive. The staff shows care, the restaurant is well-kept and I want to visit again.
One of the better pasta focused restaurants in Brooklyn. I've been going here for years. Always good. The gem salad with feta and marcona almonds is the goat salad. The tricolor cauliflower salad is very nice too. Very warm service and ambiance. Great date night spot.
A delicate, balanced Brooklyn restaurant, Fausto has everything a person could want for a simple but elegant dinner. Fausto is perfect for any occasion, a graduation, Friday night family dinner, or an anniversary. The appetizers are diverse, fresh, and tasty. The tomato salad was made up of fresh tomatoes from the Saturday Grand Army Plaza market, a clear representation of the restaurant and its values. The pastas are limited but delicious, with fresh herbs and a clearly thought out menu. The thing that really blew our parties mind was the dessert. The gelato and sorbetto are impeccable, and the olive oil cake was delicious. I would 100% recommend Fausto for a casual but elegant dinner. Enjoy.
Fausto is a small and charming Italian restaurant in Park Slope that’s perfect for a special night out. The menu is simple and focused, letting the quality of the food speak for itself. The rigatoni alla vodka and focaccia were absolutely incredible, and the martini is a must-try. We went to celebrate our anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better spot—cozy, delicious, and memorable.
I find most good, upscale Italian restaurants in NYC are sort of hard to distinguish from one another; there are a lot of similar dishes on the menu, similar vibes to the rooms, etc. Fausto does an excellent job of standing out from the crowd with really unique and delicious choices, excellent cocktail pairings, and a fun, modern restaurant interior. Love it, will continue coming back.
I had the pleasure of dining at Fausto’s last night with my family . My niece picked this restaurant since someone recommended it to her . I have dairy and gluten allergies and they were able to accommodate me. The food was delicious , everyone was loving all the different dishes we ordered . The service, ambiance and food are top notch . I’d definitely go back again.
What a lovely meal. I came here for a birthday dinner. We were seated downstairs in a bit of a cozy nook. I had orange wine for the first time which was so cool to try. We ordered arancini and focaccia as starters. I had the pork orecchiette for dinner which was very good. But the star of the show was that focaccia! You must try it, it’s like no other focaccia. It was amazing. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in Brooklyn.
Excellent excellent excellent! Every single part of our meal here was wonderful. Fausto aces the ambiance, sound levels, execution and presentation. Will certainly come back here soon. Notable great dishes we tried: crispy potatoes, arancini, Brussels sprouts, lamb tagliatelle.
No labeled vegan options on the menu but I asked the waiter and they were able to accommodate. They can make the gem and cauliflower salads vegan. They also have an off-menu vegan pasta with house made tomato and basil sauce. I had the pasta and it was tasty.
Perfect for dinner with parents. The food is solid, with the tagliatelle as a clear winner. The little gem salad was perfect. Everything feels exactly as you'd expect from this dimly lit, higher price-point, casual-occasion spot. I’d say this is the perfect Midtown neighborhood spot, right by Grand Army Plaza. If I had one comment, it would be about the music, which occasionally tipped into ultra-upbeat territory as a nod to the 30-something Brooklyn crowd, which felt out of step with the ambiance and the menu. My suggestion is to skip the trendy touches, as the charm of this place shines when it doesn’t try too hard.
The salad was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bread was disappointing since it wasn’t warm or crusty as expected. Of the three pasta dishes we ordered, only one was good while the other two missed the mark on flavor and texture. The service was excellent, attentive, and friendly!
Very disappointing. Celebrated a birthday and we all were less that satisfied and left the restaurant less that satisfied after ordering appetizers and main courses. Arancini (4 small golf balls), salad (a few leaves of lettuce), and I forget the others. I ordered the $42.00 steak and it was finished in 4-5 forkfuls. It was barely 1/2" thick, thinly sliced and spread across the plate. Potatoes were tasty and it was cooked the way I ordered it. Of the three pasta dishes that I tasted from others, one could not ignore the strong lemon flavor in all of them (who puts lemon in an Italian pasta dish?), and my wife had difficulty finding the lamb in the lamb ragout and the strong lemon flavor. WHY LEMON! Drinks were good, fish was cooked well, and enjoyed the very small ramakin of dessert.
The orecchiette was so SALTY. When I read the description, I thought 'mmmm, fennel braised pork and tuscan kale yum yum hrrrbrrr"... if you ever think about ordering this, stop. Stay home, save some money, and pull the lid off your Morton salt, then pour it into your mouth. It's basically the same meal.
Good food, good service, terrible seating. Our party of 4 was seated at a two-top turned sideways: everyone was cramped and our legs jutted out into uncomfortably into the aisle. If you enjoy the middle seat of a crowded airplane, you’ll love dining with your friends at Fausto.
Massively overhyped. Bland food, laughably small portions, and service that acts like they’re doing you a favor. Absolute waste of money. I also want to point out, the bartender with the brown full ponytail (NOT THE ONE WITH THE HALF UP HAIR STYLE) Ruined my experience and my tip reflected it. Disrespectful and condescending tone when speaking. Slapping the bar to get my date’s attention during our conversation, and then when asked about the bill (because she missed my appetizer, everything is in a different language, and it’s hard for me to see in low light) she had the nerve to act like I was trying to dispute something. Or get out of paying. Servers A1 professionals. Bar needs to be revamped. Reservations at the bar are looked at as less than. At least by the hostess standards.
