Goldie’s Brooklyn Reviews
Had my post City Hall Wedding party in the back room and it was amazing. I have been coming here since they opened and as a Greenpointer myself I was very excited to finally use the karoke room. The vibes were 10/10 and the staff was incredible. The price of booking a private room is so well priced and it fits 20-30 people! Can not wait to book again.
The bar's beautiful interiors were a real highlight. The ambiance was top-notch, with stylish decor that made for a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Plus, the bar staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. In terms of the drinks themselves, I have to say that Goldie's didn't disappoint. The beverages were all tasty and expertly prepared, which made for a really enjoyable evening. And as a bit of a stickler for prices, I was really pleased to see that the menu was well-priced, making it easy for us to indulge without breaking the bank.
I love this bar. The aesthetic is so cool. They have their own beer and great cocktails. Pretty relaxed atmosphere with plenty to look at and enjoy. Great place to hang out with a group of friends. They also have a back courtyard area that's really nice.
Goldie’s Layout/atmosphere *Half-circle bar located in back; booths on left, wall counters with stools on right; portraits of tigers and older celebrities (Steve McQueen, Sammy Davis Jr., Dolly Parton); black & gold color scheme; backyard/garden area Food/drink *Cold Fashioned (frozen) - delicious *Complementary water dispenser *No food menu
Chill times, solid neighborhood bar. Love the black and gold color scheme and throwback 70’s vibes. We’re talking velvet paintings, sequins and cheetah statues. They have a pool table that is perpetually occupied and seriously great backyard in the warmer weather. Also they serve goldfish as bar snacks. Keep an eye out for their bouncer who has his pants cuffed almost up to the knee. The pants defy all logic.
Nice bar, good atmosphere. The red-headed female bartender was absolutely terrible though. I watched her do shots, dance, and do "bits" for regulars as i stood there for 15 mins waiting on a beer! This happened twice!! If i went back and saw her behind the bar, I'd just go somewhere else!
It is a sad day and I really hate to do this but Goldie's has fallen from an astronomical 5 stars to 2...only because I have so many great memories. A ludicrous decision has been made, to remove the heart of the institution, the pool table along the street windows. This sounds dramatic, and maybe it is, but I literally won't come anymore after being at least a monthly visitor for years. Maybe a few more of these can bring the table back. Sorry to all who can't believe it either.
Terrible and unpleasant service. Friend with SERVICE dog got refused service by Aaron even after he was presented with dogs Service card . Way better spots around to grab a drink. Don’t waste your money here. Intoxicated ? Our friend with service dog did NOT drink due to his health conditions. It is one thing to refuse someone service, and another to discriminate and be rude without a reason. You should look up ADA, you'll soon learn about it ;) it is illegal for businesses open to the public to refuse service to a person with a service dog, under the Americans with Disabilities Act
Unfortunately, this bar is a complete disaster. The manager, Aaron, was extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I came in with friends and my legally recognized service dog. As required by law, I was prepared to present documentation for my service animal, but he showed no interest at all. Instead, he told us to leave and then refused us service entirely. This behavior is unacceptable and discriminatory. The bar will be reported to the appropriate authorities, and I sincerely hope this situation teaches the management some basic professionalism and respect. Updated The owner’s statement is false and unjust. I do not consume alcohol under any circumstances. False accusations are unacceptable, and this matter has already been reported to the relevant authorities.
Extremely rude bartender, treated us like she didn’t want us to be there or that she hated her job. This place does not deserve any type of hype. There’s really nothing special about it other than the vintage and chic atmosphere.
Beware!!!!! My phone was stolen out of my purse while I was here sitting in the back patio. A week later I was telling somebody about how it happened and they told me they know two friends who also had their phones stolen on the Goldie’s patio. Maybe a coincidence but maybe not considering the way one of the bartenders treated me when I asked for help………..
This place gives hipsters a bad name. I live near by and always give it a chance. It’s got a nice aesthetic and is open late. But the people who work here all think they’re so cool. I hope they go out of business and an Irish pub moves in.
Very rudely denied me service because I had my service dog with me. Asked me what my disability was which is not legal under the ADA. I didn’t feel comfortable disclosing it to a stranger/bartender who was being hostile towards me. I let the bartender know this and still had to battle it out with him for a good 5 minutes just to be able to get a seat inside (it was pouring rain)- he literally wanted to segregate me from the other patrons. He pretended like he knew more about the laws than me and I’m someone who is well educated since I deal with this type of discrimination everyday. I gave him many chances to follow the correct protocol and he failed at every opportunity. Do not go here. Go to Minnows down the street. They do not discriminate and are good people who know how to communicate. Educate your employees. It is not my responsibility.
