Taqueria La Norteña Brooklyn Reviews
i was in uber eats hell tonight and the folks at taqueria were so communicative and helpful in figuring it all out. 0 stars for uber eats, 5 stars for taqueria. we love your food!
Extraordinary food and service!! To all the late night people out there, they are open until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays with a bar.
Owners and staff were amazing! Some of the best tacos, guac, AND salsa I’ve had (and I’ve had a lot lol). We had the carne asada tacos and my partner had the fish tacos. We both ordered passion fruit margaritas, which tasted fantastic. I got a tajin rim on mine and the tajin itself was the best tajin I’ve ever had. 10/10. You should go.
Just moved to the area and I winged it and ordered here and it did not disappoint. I got the quesadilla de bistec and Tacos de carne asada and it was 10/10!! So delicious. We paid $29 along with a can of soda and a salad. Definitely worth it!!
The Birria tacos are my absolute favorite! I've been going to this restaurant for years and truly, it's the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had! Always great for late night eats!
5 stars because of the closing hours !! It is open until 4 am so if you come out of a club and you are hungry, its the best place to have a snack. Plus, I’ve got to say, after going several times in Mexico, it is one of the few places in New York that looks like the most as a real taqueria. The service is good and the food is really great value. I would definitely recommend.
Love this place! Come here regularly after medieval combat practice in McCarren Park during warmer months. This place is open late and has an excellent selection of tacos including fish, lengua (beef tongue,) carne asada, etc and other Mexican staples. Try their horchata or a margarita.
Love this place. Tacos are authentic. Flavorful. The service is good. They have latin music playing. A little dim but that’s a matter of preference. I took a picture after eating 2 tacos. I had a total of 4. 2- Chorizo (my recommendation) 1- Carnitas 1- Lengua The tacos were all full of meat so you’re getting your money’s worth of food.
I like this place for a late night snack or sometimes a late night craving where I pound down a whole meal. Lots of options and lots traditional Dishes. They have a seating area if you want to dine in and catch a flick on the tv ; they had a crazy piranha movie on the one night 🤣 Mexican coke to top it off. Go enjoy some nice food.
Good Mexican food for NYC standards. It’s actually better than most Mexican food in NYC, which tends to be a disappointment. Decent prices and good service. The torta in particular was a standout. They provide customers with free chips and salsa which is always a nice gesture. Very fast service. Bathroom was very clean which is appreciated.
I stumbled into this restaurant unplanned but I’m really glad I did. La Nortena has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. I got the chicken enchiladas, Les treches, and a horchata- everything exceeded my expectations. The portion sizes are huge and prices are on the lower side. The service made the experience especially enjoyable. Our waiter regularly checked up on us to refill water, bring out sauces and he even split the bill individually for my whole party of about 10 people.
NEW UPDATE: There’s no reason to order from anywhere else in Brooklyn, even for non Mexican food!!!! No joke!!! Had the Sopes n they were AWESOME!!! Big surprise? NOT!! This place is great!!! The fish is great, Sopes were great, tacos, u name it!!! UPDATE: Was craving a burger n I thought lemme try La Nortena because my burger place was closed. I had a hypothesis that since EVERYTHING I’ve had from them so far was so good n prepared so carefully n thoughtfully...I figured hmmm I’ll try their burger. If they can make legit Mexican food, they can DEF make a burger, right? I went for it n it was AWESOME BACON CHEESE BURGER !!!!!! OMG!!!! I even asked for all kinds of specific details n extra requests because I’m a food fanatic n former professional chef n I take good of all types very seriously n like my stuff prepared in very specific ways. They got every single request I made 100% correct. For me that goes a long way. I hate when my food is wrong or bad but at this place it’s felt like every meal coulda been made by my mother or father or brother or sister or best friend. How many places can u say that about? Their prices r also really reasonable. I’d eat every meal from this spot lol. I luv this place because I used to have legit Mexican food in my old neighborhood but not here in my new one. This place delivers to my area tho n is fully legit!!! It’s not BS Mexican food for ppl who don’t know any better. I had the Mojarra Frita 3 times last week lol. I haven’t tried the Sopes yet but that will be next or perhaps huaraches
Food is typically lovely, but not tonight - steak fajitas inedible unfortunately. Bad cut of meat, fatty and tough. Hopefully this is a one off, as generally quite nice and good priced. While bad food is a once off; their delivery service is sub par. Can’t seem to find basic address and argumentative when they call.
The rice and beans component of the dish proved to be the most disappointing element, with an imbalanced ratio of approximately 3/4 beans to 1/4 rice, rendering the quantity of rice overwhelming and impractical. This imbalance was exacerbated by the lack of utility for such an excess of rice, leading to a sense of dissatisfaction and inconvenience. The presentation of such an imbalanced proportion is regrettable, as it detracted from the overall dining experience. Regarding the torta, while the flavor was acceptable, the texture of the bread was compromised by staleness, detracting from the enjoyment of the dish. Additionally, the al pastor meat exhibited an unexpected chewiness, deviating from the anticipated tenderness associated with this preparation. Despite these shortcomings, the highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tres leches dessert, characterized by its exceptional moistness and delectable flavor profile, standing out as one of the finest renditions of tres leches encountered. Regrettably, the disparity between the quality of the dessert and the main courses was notable, underscoring missed opportunities for culinary excellence.
I don't know what's happened here. My sense is they're so focused on a huge take out biz that no one is focusing on customers who come in to dine. My burrito was smaller and barely warm. No music playing. Really needs a manager to come in and finish the expansion, making it a true sit down restaurant. Cause right now I don't want to eat in there again. Hopefully it changes this spring.
Came here for dinner intending to spend $$$ and use a restaurant.com voucher. Upon showing the voucher to the owner he immediately became hostile and borderline rude and told us he wouldn’t accept it. He took a photo of the voucher in my phone and started making out that he’d have to call them and made us feel like we’d done something wrong. This guy has no business running any kind of hospitality establishment. He should have honoured the discount and reach out to restaurant.com afterwards to remove his offer. Instead his attitude made us feel like we didn’t want to stay or give him a dime so we left and found somewhere else to eat. Turns out there are better options in the neighbourhood anyway. Avoid this place, service with a smile it ain’t! By the way - it’s now 3 days later and the offer on restaurant.com is still live, so he’s obviously not bothered to do anything about it. I suspect he uses it for advertising and then cons people into paying full price when they get there.
I made 2 order of chilaquiles but I couldn’t eat them had to trow them out to garbage very spicy .,am even a Mexican but Jesus Christ this ,I couldn’t take they don’t even serve them with rise and beans , I called to restaurant and the guy was very rude and nasty talking definitely he doesn’t care about customer service I been eating this dish all over Brooklyn and different mexican restaurant but this totally made me upset not going back to this restaurant and never ordering here ever again I do not recommend this place also their michelada suck 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
