Gua-Cu-Co Brooklyn Reviews
Delicious authentic Venezuelan! Just a casual slice of delicious dishes! I had the opportunity to try brunch and the everyday menu and it is fantastic. The Cachapa is a unique brunch dish I haven't seen anywhere else and the Juevos Rancheros are perfect! Flavor galore! For dinner the Arepas are expertly crafted and saftisfying as all heaven! Enjoy!
Hands down the best empanada we've ever had. The coconut smoothie is also amazing, as named. The vegetarian options are delicious ❤️❤️🐙
The quality of food here rises above most places. Workers here deliver satisfactory service. The kitchen delivered efficiently. I choose this restaurant time after time. I experienced complete satisfaction here.
Some of the best empanadas I have ever eaten. The pastry has a very light sweet flavor (I think from plantains?), and we had the pollo, carne, and pabellon empanadas. All the fillings were very flavorful and the green crema that came with it really heightened the flavor. They came out super fresh and hot!!! The bartender was very friendly as well. I hope this place does well. The food is fabulous ☺️ The bathrooms were clean too!
¡AMO! Amazing service, food, drinks. One of my favorites restaurants. I recently hosted an event and OMG! The service and attention were great. They were always willing to help, the food was delicious. The drinks were super tasty. Highly recommended. (Photos from my event. They normally have tables all over the place).
I've memorized the entire menu here. The entire menu works well and I can reach this place easily. The two of us shared this dish. Employees show kindness and solve problems. Check out this spot immediately.
This place is awesome. My friend and I walked in to kill some time before our event started. We didn't know what to expect bc I've never eaten Venezuelan food, we didn't go deep into the menu but their empanadas 🔥🔥 , run punch 🔥🔥, tostones 🔥🔥 and their coconut drink I had 4 of them lol. Shout out to Marcy she's the best, she provided the best service and suggestions on what to order. She makes me want to go back. If you're in the area give this place a try you won't be disappointed.
I am on a journey to find the best cachapas in NYC and I didn’t expect to find the best cachapas of MY LIFE. 10/10 literally crying every second I’m not eating these cachapas. The dough is perfectly cooked and it has a good flavor and they do use Venezuelan cheese which some other places just use mozzarella. Their papelon con limon was mundial! The cocada was okay it was decent and the tres in uno was delish as well. Highly recommend getting cachapas here, best place in nyc so far out of the 6 restaurants and food trucks I’ve been to.
Loved this place. The staff was friendly. The food was so flavorful and fresh. I ordered the vegetarian empanada which had cheese, beans, & plantain inside. It was a good size and very filling. The empanada dough had a sweet tang to it. I also ordered the pulled pork arepa and that was a hit as well! As for drinks: I ordered a passion fruit mimosa and it came with a popsicle inside of it. The taste wasn’t my favorite but I tried another drink: this coconut & rum frosty type drink and it was so good but it’s strong 😝 - I would highly recommend. And you don’t need a reservation, just walk right in!
What’s better than one Guacuco? Two guacucos! This is the sister store to the Guacuco in Bushwick. Best arepas, empanadas, cachapas in NYC. The papelon con limón is divine, the quesillo is to die for. You can’t go wrong no matter what you order. This is the best of Venezuelan cuisine.
The food here is amazing! I’d come back any time, any day. Guacuco was actually my first meal of 2020 and it brought me back to leave. Although I am Hispanic, I was as still new to this type of cuisine and I loved every bit of it. I ordered a passion fruit juice, a cheese empanada (which was huge), a shredded beef arepa with plantain in it (great savory and sweet combo), the cachapa ( a delicious sweet cheese and corn dish ) and the beef lasagna type dish. Lastly, we had the soup of the day which was an incredible chicken soup. We split the food between three of us and we were super full by the end. On top of the great food, we also had very great service!
The tequeños were crispy, as expected. The Reina Pepiada arepa was way too cold, it felt stored and not fresh. The dessert was incredible. The service was excellent, with great conversation and friendly staff. I liked the other location better, and even the food tasted better there. It is also expensive.
wow. so interesting it says this place closes at 10:30 pm on Saturday because for months and months since living above it I fall asleep around 4:30 am due to bumping bass and music being BLASTED here on Saturdays. I know a thing or two about liquor licenses and I'm extremely curious why 1. you can't just lower the music and allow tenants here to have quality of life and sleep. or 2. if you are even allowed to have a party until this late. when asked to turn it down nobody responded to the request. I slept 2 hours last night and I avoid coming home because these parties simply don't stop. please do better. I'm born and raised and Brooklyn and cant understand this Level of disrespect.
Living above this establishment has been hell on earth. every saturday from 10-4:45 am approx they BLAST music and will not stop even though multiple tenents in the building above have asked them nicely. Multiple 311 calls made and when the cops leave they turn it back up. Shame on these people for allowing our quality of life to go down and sleep 2 hours a night max bc of thier party hope it closes asap.
