Habanero Cafe Mexican Brooklyn Reviews
Tried for the first time today - this place is so GOOD. I am vegetarian and they made me a delicious bean and cheese burrito with rice and all the toppings. Took it home and it was still hot and fresh, a 10/10. Habanero Café is my new go-to Mexican spot in the neighborhood. Gracias!!!
The food is good and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and very attentive. The restaurant is clean.
I came here to try the elote (Mexican street corn) and it was delicious. If you get elote here, make sure you buy more than one because you will want to eat more. I also tried the tortilla soup and the breakfast burrito with green sauce, and they were both fantastic, too. I'm definitely going to keep coming back here to try more of the different offerings.
Delivery is so quick despite me living in a nearby borough. Food is always hot, correct and delicious.
Love their burritos and shrimp nachos. I usually order on Uber or Grubhub. It hits every time. They have pretty quick delivery for work as well. I order around 10:30-11:00 and it comes fast.
Ordered for delivery huevos a la mexicana and an iced coffee everything good. The food arrived hot and my iced coffee was made so perfect.
I live in the area and have passed this restaurant on several occasions. My daughter and I decided to try something different and OH MY GOODNESS we were pleasantly surprised and impressed! We ordered the shrimp burrito, and shrimp quesadilla. At the last minute, I decided to get the beef chili, it was calling my name and I’m so glad I answered. The burrito is delicious. The chili is perfectly seasoned. The quesadillas is also delicious and beautifully presented. Yes I’m in love and could kick myself because I should have tried this wonderful restaurant sooner. The gentleman behind the counter was so very nice and answered all my questions. Thank you. I’ll be back! 😊♥️
Yum!!!! The steak, shrimp & grilled chicken were all seasoned differently and deliciously. I was impressed by all 3. Also, the green salsa they have is awesome. I will for sure eat here again.
One of the best places around the Woodhull hospital to eat. 1) Food is pretty good. Made fresh. I think their burrito bowls are the best. I.e. chorizo bowl. I've had a few others and they are decent, but bowl is probably the best or at least my favorite. It's definitely more fresh made than say chipotle (1star IMO) down the street . 2) It's clean and a nice place to sit down for lunch. It's got about 4 tables. Nice quiet place to get away from the hospital for 15-20 min. 3) It's prices are average for the area. Typical lunch will run between 10-15 dollars depending on what you, definitely worth it. 4) The staff is quiet but polite. No attitude. They call you to pick up your meal. You bus your own dishes afterwards. 5) Environmental friendly. If you eat there. They put the food in bowls and give you silverware. Not the cheap unrecyclable plastic. 6) Introduced to several colleagues from the hospital. We eat there pretty regularly. 7) Disclaimer. I haven't eaten a lot of the menu. I've tried several others, but usually get my favorite.
I order from here a LOT (possibly too much for my own good). The food is always great with satisfying flavor and portions. I'm basically married to the nachos and refuse to eat nachos anywhere else. 10/10 will come back here forever.
The shredded chicken burrito bowl is my fave and every other choice from the food menu has been great! Also the aesthetics way of decorating the plate makes you enjoy the food. Clean and tasty
Great food and service. Was waiting for a friend who was having surgery at Woodhull hospital and needed lunch. Only fast food joints around plus I really wanted a beer! Awesome tacos and beer selection, mellow atmosphere. Big burritos. And again, great service.
I have only ever ordered take-out from this place but they are fantastic for a number of reasons: 1. The food is delicious and always tastes fresh 2. Extremely affordable 3. The portions are quite large 4. Delivery has always been fast and the guy who delivers is super nice I highly recommend.
The food is okay in my personal opinion. It lacked in flavor to me. I was hoping for that authentic Mexican cooking taste and it missed the mark. The service was great though. My son and I had a very pleasant time.
This is a fine restaurant, with a friendly staff. I love their regular burrito, it is a good size and very filling. I’d definitely choose it over the breakfast burrito. Habanero Café is an easy decision considering the other food places on this block. The only downside here is that it took a little long to get my food, but i am yet to explore the rest of their menu.
Vegetarian nachos with black beans and guacamole was better than expected but wasn't hot upon delivery. Cheese enchiladas were okay but bland. Red sauce needs more flavor. The white rice was not seasoned at all. Overall good for the price!
Got a burrito from them on uber eats. No pico in it as promised & didn’t even come with salsa.
I eat here all the time & I never had problems with the food. Surprisingly, I ordered for the second on Seamless and my order was canceled without my knowledge. I had to call and ask about my order because it's been over an hour since I ordered. I explained that my location is only 4 blocks away but it was canceled due it being ''out of range''. I don't think I'll be ordering or eating from this place again because that was really unprofessional. I'm wondering whether it's truly out of range or is it because it's Tompkins Projects? Don't order if your in Tompkins because they don't deliver to you, although your ONLY 4 blocks away.
