Hadja Marley Brooklyn Reviews
Hadja Marley is truly a gem in Brooklyn, New York for anyone craving authentic West African cuisine. What can I say? The buffet spread speaks for itself! Even at 11 PM, everything was fresh, and the place was buzzing with energy. I wasn’t surprised—it had been on my oldest’s list for a while now. He remembered eating here as a youngster. We came as a family of five, and it exceeded all expectations. The variety was incredible—fragrant rice, tender braised meat, perfectly fried whole fish, and an array of chicken dishes, each more flavorful than the last. Every bite was absolutely mouthwatering. The boys were so impressed that they insisted on packing extra for lunch the next day! On the car ride home, the conversation was unanimous: it’s not about the decor or ambiance—it’s the food that truly matters. And Hadja Marley delivers on all fronts. We’re already counting down the days until we can go back!
Food is so delicious and affordable!! Highly recommended

Love this spot. Food is legit, delicious and at a good price. Can't beat that.
This restaurant combines good food with enjoyment. Customer attention here exceeds quality expectations. Not once have I been disappointed by their food. The staff is pleasant with a comfortable vibe. I vouch for the experience here.
Amazing service at Hadja Marley! Staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. Will definitely be back!
Pleased this restaurant was recommended. The expense feels right for what you receive. Employees: exceptional. Observant and competent. Their food demonstrates clear talent. This place won't let you down.
Very good food for a fairly reasonable price. I highly suggest this place.
Nice to sit in with seasoned food too! Open late night!
Authentic West African food geared towards the local West Africans. With that said the decour is very bare and the seating is community styled. If you want a trip to West Africa but can't afford a ticket, this is your place. If you can only eat at Western styled restaurants it's not for you. The foufou is amazing. The lamb dibi is succulent. I love it.
I love this place. I have been coming here for over 15 years and I promise you this is the place for the authentic Senegalese food..
Amazing Senagalese Foods. I miss coming here more frequently. The Theib au Yap is Amazing!
It's food by the pound. It's a buffet. A broad assortment of rice and couscous and vegetables and meat prepared in a variety of ways. You build your plate and bring it to the cashier and they weight it and tell you what you're paying. Stay away from the kabobs. They're 3$ apiece (compared to a whole plate of food for 6$) and were somewhat dry. Speaking French is a bonus, but not necessary. It's a buffet, so there isn't much customer interaction. You grab your food. You pay. You eat. You throw away your plates. You leave. No frills. Good food.
Wonderful customer service family friendly environment The grilled lamb is always tasty matter matter what day or time you go They have a wide variety of sauces and rices The salad bar is always green and crispy with Romain and not iceberg!! If what you want is not available they will tell you how long you have to wait and it’s always LESS than 15 minutes
Excellent food and prices but arrive early for lunch before the best dishes on the steam table are picked over. Ask the cashier or one of the ever friendly customers always eager to be helpful to explain the various west African offerings to you. If you say a few words in French, you are guaranteed a heroes welcome! Also consider an order of Senagalese "cheb" (fish with rice and vegetables) for take out and you won't have to cook supper tonight. It easily feeds 2 and it's the best I've tasted in NYC. I sure wish they'd wash the windows regularly however.
I love the food here .omg ! A must eat. Large variety, friendly staff, food is always hot, tasty and affordable. If you like spice ask for some of there authentic pepper sauce.
immensely grateful for it being open during thanksgiving. great prices and quality of food!
We brought many people, but the restaurant seated us quickly and served us attentively. I shared this dish with my friend. The proprietor and workers make guests feel welcome. Servers make you feel special and the meals are too. This spot calls for your prompt attention!
This place was truly enjoyable. The inside setup of this place caught me off guard. The cooking satisfied while service excelled. Restaurant workers notice when assistance is needed. This place has an exceptional nature.

I feel like I have to go there bc they have a particular meat i like that nearby african restaurants don't have. The problem is the service is HORRIBLE. Every time I go, there's always some silliness with their prices. Basically, they have different prices for Guinea and Senegalese people vs the rest. Today, the cashier charged me $8 for less than a pound, but charged some man $4.10 for DOUBLE THE FOOD I HAD. She and the man tried to gaslight and get an attitude with me when I mentioned the discrepancy. But trust, wasnt having it. Always nonsense with them, i tell you. Not a good look when there's so many competing restaurants like right next door. Don't think I'll be returning. I'll wait until I can make the meat myself.
So I called in to inquire about a specific african dish and the people who answered the phone were so rude. I was going try this restaurant for the first time, I quickly changed my mind. Remember without customers you will have no business. It cost nothing to be polite
