Kanan Indian Restaurant Brooklyn Reviews
I had ordered several items on their menu for our office party. Ms. Suchi (owner) was the one who took my orders and she was very kind, generous and helped me choose the vegan items from their menu. Despite having a limited budget, she gave me a discount and was able to accommodate all my requests. They delivered my orders on time, the portions were huge and everyone at the party ENJOYED and were SATISFIED with the delicious entrees that Kanan restaurant provided. To Ms. Suchi and the staff at Kanan, I extend my sincerest gratitude for making our party a memorable one.

Delicious food! Ordered take-out and everything was well-made and well-spiced. Tikka Masala, ordered at medium spicy, was the best I've had in the area, and their Achari Begun, an eggplant dish, was also fantastic. Highly recommend for a nice casual dinner.
Its absolutley amazing been going here for such a long time. Love the owner and place. Its perfect highly reccomend
The paneer Tikka masala was great! Entrees come with rice. Garlic naan was good. The deal makhani was flavorful but a bit too salty for my taste. Food arrived hot. They even included plastic ware! One of the best Indian places I've found in Brooklyn.
I have never been brought to tears by food before. My GF and I ate in and this was the best meal I have EVER had. Perfectly cooked rice and the best Tikka Masala paneer EVER. the naan was fluffy and flavorful. The server was checking in on us often and even provided water for my service dog.
Ordered on Grubhub. Was delivered on time and SUPER tasty 😋
This restaurant has been one of my delivery go-tos for many years, they are delicious. I've tried many of their dishes, and I've always left satisfied. I'm a particular fan of their Lamb Korma, Vindaloo, and Butter Chicken. Besides their great food, their prices are very reasonable (especially their takeout / delivery special), and I've never had any problem with delivery. Highly recommend!
I’m being serious when I say I can’t imagine living without this place. My partner and I order from here at LEAST once a week, sometimes more. Every time we have to move apartments, we make it a priority to stay in the Kanan delivery zone. So far it’s stayed with us through four different apartments. The takeout special is the best bargain in Brooklyn. I recommend chicken makhani, paneer tikka masala, saagwala paneer, chicken vindaloo, gobi manchurian, the samosas, and especially the side of aloo papri. The regular naan is good but definitely get the garlic naan if you can. The family that owns Kanan is so nice and thoughtful. Remember to call in your order instead of using Seamless—so much more money goes to the local business owner rather than a corporation! Kanan, please stay in my life forever!
this is my go to indian takeout place and we absolutely love it. we appreciate that they can make all of their vegetarian meals vegan. fantastic food !!!
Old school Indian spot but gives you an option For no nuts entrees. I trust them as my kiddo had a nut allergy and they do a good job not using it and being honest
Kanan is the best. We get take out at least 2 times a month, they are quick, the quality is so good, and the staff is incredibly kind. I also highly recommend dining in for the beautiful presentation of their dishes. I'd never had Lamb Dostana before Kanan, and it is one of my favorite dishes now. I couldn't recommend this place more.
I order from here all the time. Its always fantastic. The lamb dostana is a unique and incredible dish thats my go to but I’ve had most of their mains (usually with their lamb which is very tender) and they are all delicious. Lovely people too!
Dined in after a show at the Bell House - it was a perfect way to end the night. Super delicious, great prices, and our waitress was the sweetest. I don’t know her name but she was super attentive and kind. Definitely check this place out!
This place is the best. Delicious food, incredibly kind and accommodating staff. I really can’t express just how good the food was. This spot is also right around the corner from The Bell House and open until 10:30. Highly recommend getting yourself some late ish night food here before hitting the F or G train. Seriously so good, thank you for an excellent dining experience!

Great takeout meal option, easily can break it into two meals.

Why are there so few reviews of KANAN?! They are hands down the best traditional (I'm not really qualified, but love Indian food) Indian food takeout/delivery in the Carroll Gardens area. We have been ordering from them for years, and they never disappoint. Don't sleep.
If I want a vegetarian meal I order Indian. But Indian food is never spicy enough around these parts (read: all of America.) Thankfully, I found Kanan today. I ordered a little of everything: Tandoori Vegetables, Radha Patties, Aloo Saag and Lentil Soup. I heartily recommend the Radha Patties: fried potato cakes with yogurt, chickpeas in a tamarind chutney. So tasty. I measure the quality of a good Indian place by the Saag (spinach) and this place makes one that is perfect in texture and spice. Absolutely delicious. UPDATE Still the best saag. They have a magical to go fridge! Please don’t forget to pick up dessert: gulab jamun, doughnut bites soaked in rose syrup, and their achaar (pickled vegetables in chili oil): they have the spicy mixed vegetables and a mango chutney that is just the right amount of sweet with a hint of black pepper. Get both!

I'd prefer the saag paneer more pureed, tadka daal a little thicker, and naan a little crispier. Basically everything is a little bland and watery

Samosa was not cooked well. Mentioned in order that make it spicy. But the instructions was not followed.
Just the two of us, so we ordered just two entrees as take-out since there is no outdoor seating. We shared the chicken dish and it was awful. The chicken was rubbery, tough, flavorless - possibly the worst Indian dish I've ever had. We thought we'd give the shrimp dish a try the next day though we were tempted to toss it. To our surprise it was totally delicious and certainly deserved 4 stars at least. Alas, restaurant food is not inexpensive and 50% good is just not acceptable. We had white basmati rice since brown was not available.
They used to be so good. I used to go and order from there for years. My last delivery really close the deal for me. Overpriced for this quality. Dry naan, uncooked chickpeas, no side sauces. Really disappointed. Sorry.

THEY CHARGED EXTRAS $5 NEXT DAY !! I ordered from this place over the phone. The food & delivery was ok. I gave them my card number & told them I would tip in cash. When the delivery driver arrived I tipped them $5 cash. Next day I check my account & they charged me another $5 to my card !! Scamholes !
Haven't been to Kanan for a while because our last meal was not very good. Well they outdid themselves tonight. The butter chicken came in a redish-orange gravy that had no taste of Indian spices and was very watery. The saag paneer was very watery and again had essentially no Indian flavor. The naan was passable. After trying a couple of very small plates of food the rest was thrown out, awful. Forty plus dollars thrown into the trash.
