Table 87 Coal Oven Pizza Brooklyn Reviews
Food is delicious, and staff is so helpful and patient. We were there as a large group with kids and they gave us space that is perfect. Pizzas and wings were great. Riceball was tasty but a bit smaller than I like them.
We love this place. The pizza is crispy and delicious. The sauce tastes so clean and fresh. Just tomato without much else. They use those little pepperoni that curl up when they are cooked. So delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bar side of the restaurant is gorgeous. This is a great place for a group.
Our server, Dessalines, was very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely personable. He checked on us throughout our dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the food as we always do. Very fresh, everything is made fresh to the order. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting the Brooklyn NY area.
Friendly staffs. Really great pizza!
We had our second annual corporate outing at this establishment. The food was delicious. The ambiance was surreal. Great place for your corporate outing.
Best Pizza in town! Good vibe place. My favorite place to come with family and friends. Even suitable for a date. Last time, i was suprised to find a nice bar inside after so many times!🤣 Service is always excellent!
Wonderful service and food. Monica was very attentive and everything she recommended was perfect, including the yuzu cocktail! We had the linguine with clams and a small prosciutto and arugula pizza. Both were delicious! We finished off with Steve’s key lime pie and a wonderful tiramisu. We’ll be back again!
It’s the best tasting pizza! Always excited to go back
the margherita is my all time favorite. i mean just look at how beautiful this thing is. their basil is always on point and on my last visit i was so lucky to discover their roasted garlic and peppers and i’m not sure i can ever go back to eating pizza without em. solid value at $25 for a 20in.
The best pizza in the area, if not in all of Brooklyn (yes that's a bold statement). One of the few coal burning ovens left in New York City, the flavor and crispiness of the crust is just incredible. Served with fresh roast garlic and roasted red peppers bring an added flavorful authenticity.
Great Margarita and Cheese slice! Crusty thin dough and generous amount of toppings🤍
This is the best pizza we've had, not only in Brooklyn but in NYC. It was perfect! We took the whole family, husband and wife and two toddlers. They were accommodating to the kids, which is always nice. Often you get eye rolls in Brooklyn when you walk into a restaurant with kids but this place was full of them and everyone was fine with it! It was unclear whether we could order by the slice of we sat down to eat or not but found out that you can indeed order by the slice if you eat in the restaurant. Just know that you cannot get specialty pizzas by the slice, you just pick your own toppings. The pizza was phenomenal. PHENOMENAL! Each ingredient stood out on it's own but worked together with the others to make your mouth be like dayummm! Got a meatball calzone too and it was just as good. Actual ricotta in the calzone which is a must. The food was affordable too!!! All around amazing experience and we'll be back. Often.
Tommy is a great owner and his people beautiful everything is great there from the food to the service highly complimented, From OG
I wish table 87 all the success in the world. It's always a pleasant experience here and the staff is very attentive. We came on a Saturday night and they were packed at the hills with customers and these guys were over the top accommodating. The food is always stellar along with fresh pizza, my kids love it here and so do I. I recommend this place for big parties or planned events, drinks are strong and atmosphere is top tier
My friend and I stopped in for the 1st time recently and we loved it! We made all of our decisions based on Kat the bartender's recommendations, and everything was delicious. I ordered the "Bad Boy" to drink and it was definitely one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Thanks again Kat!
5 star review!! Best $11 frozen pizza ive ever had! Never been 2 brick n mortar location, but if im in Brooklyn im stopping! So good🔥😍
Can't speak for anything other than their pizza, but the pizza is super unique and flavorful. The sauce is a little sweeter, and the fresh mozzarella is perfect. The crust always comes out perfect as well. This location is a little more spacious feeling than the one on Atlantic, but both are great.
Didn’t sit down at the full size restaurant, we were next door to the “by the slice” section of the restaurant. There are some tables there where we were able to enjoy our slices. Had the margherita, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza. the base pizza is a margherita pizza and they add pepperoni or mushrooms and other types of toppings. Just keep that in mind as they all tend to taste similar to each other as a result. The pizza itself was delicious! Tomato sauce was very flavorful, just the right level of cheesiness, and crust was thin. Highly recommend the slices here. Next time I’d love to try the spicy drizzle (hot honey) that they apply on their pizzas too since I like things that have a bit of a spicy kick. Highly recommended if you’re in Brooklyn!
As a born and raised New Yorker, I LOVE Table 87 pizza. It’s a chain that doesn’t feel (or taste) like a chain! I recently visited their 3rd Avenue location in Brooklyn. They have great seating in the back of the restaurant if you’re looking for more of a sit down pizza experience. Their house red wine was also fantastic!
3/5/26 - I wish there was a reply button but thank you! He’s my husband now and we went last year for Valentine’s Day. We saw how much has changed with the wall open and extending into the other side. We love coming back :) I love coming to Table 87! Pizza is amazing and the food as well. I always want to get a pie but end up ordering the Penne Vodka because it's THAT good. My bf always gets the Hot Sopressata Sandwich. This is a photo of my most recent visit. Also, service is 👌👌👌.
Wow one of the tastiest slices of pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The coal oven gives the dough a crunchy and sturdy texture that is perfect for an on-the-go slice. Best part is that I got my delicious slice at 8pm when most of the other pizzerias were closed or serving their nonfresh pizzas. Big fan of the cheese and pepperoni slices, can’t wait to try more. Table 87 is a gift to the community. I will be back to dine in next time because the vibe is immaculately high-class. Also movie night was hosted by them where Ghostbusters was playing outside projected onto a building for outside diners to enjoy. Their sparkling water is ok— does not taste like high quality spring water.
Edwin was awesome. The food was great! I had some of my mother’s spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken parm, a Canolli and my cousins meat lasagna as well as my chicken special. Rhe chicken had camerized onions and roasted peppers. It came with a potatoe croquet and spinach. Everything fresh and yummy! The place is warm, inviting and very clean! Everyone is welcoming and friendly.
Yum yum yum - devoured this slice after having a gorgeous time at an art collective. Wish the pepperoni was spicy but the burrata was good!!
For $6 a slice not including tip, I’m surprised to say it’s worth it. The slice was the size of a baby’s torso lol. Perfect oily pools in the pepperoni, curled to perfection, nothing burnt or overcharred, very generous with the sauce and cheese, a rarity in NY pizzas. Crust holds up but isn’t overwhelming. Neither is it the thinnest and crispiest. But it tastes very good. I stopped in while walking by and hungry and that was the best way to experience it. It was so large I was stuffed.
Perfect slice of pizza. I am not sure if the “coal” matters at all but their ingredients, technique and results are top notch!
This is a very nice pizzeria which gives you an old-school American pub feeling. Pizza are made with coat-fired oven which gives the pizza an extra favor and texture (especially the bottom of pizza). Both round and square pizza are nice (they are more focused on round slices). Price is a bit higher compared to any mom & pop pizza shops, but it's definitely worth the money. They also offer seatings outside the restaurant which you will always find a seat somewhere. Service is friendly and good. A cool pizzeria you will be easily to remember after your 1st visit.
Delicious food, great atmosphere. Got dinner here before going to the Bell House, and very worth it. Happy to try out other locations to come.
Searched for pizza above 4*, according to reviews, and came across this gem in Brooklyn. Their pizza is high quality at an affordable price in the Gowanus area. Not at all surprised, that they have multiple locations. My favorite side is the fresh crushed garlic. A must-try spot for pizza cravings, multiple times of course!
Pizza was excellent! Better than artichoke pizza for sure. Sat down for an eggplant slice. Nice and warm. Hate when the pizza is too hot to eat. First bite was perfect almost got a second slice but by the time I finished my boylans root beer I was full. They also have wines and beers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like a great place to relax during the summer . Has WiFi as well.
The pizza is five stars but Table 87 is so much more. The Italian food is great quality and fairly priced. But there’s one item on the menu which outshines all the rest. It’s a sleeper that you might not notice. It’s listed as an appetizer but It can feed the entire army of China. I’m talking of course about the stuffed peppers. I got them to-go and weighed them. The two peppers were a total of 4 pounds! Even if you eat a pound of stuffed peppers, which is a big meal, you will get four meals out of the $16 appetizer. If you are on a budget or you just love a good deal, I highly recommend the stuffed peppers from table 87. They are also delicious with the spicy peppers in oil and roasted garlic. To the management at table 87: please do not change this recipe.
Excellent NY Slice! The cheese to sauce ratio is perfect and the sauce has such a rich flavor! Most sauces don’t taste authentic here in Bk but this one is excellent! The only criticism I might have is not really even something bad! But their slices are so big and thin it’s kind of hard to pick up without almost making a mess😅. Great pizza spot!
I lived in NC for 9 years and would always say "I can't wait to go back to Long Island and have a bagel, baconeggandcheese, slice of pizza, etc". Now that I moved back to Long Island, I went into Brooklyn to spend the day with my cousin. She took me to Table 87 for lunch (a shirt block from her apt) and OMG!!! The food was beyond amazing. We shared a coal oven pizza, a burrata salad and orichette with sausage and broccoli rabe. Dessert was a house made tiramisu which was a perfect ending to this meal. Everything was fresh and simple ingredients...and just so delicious. The staff and owners are friendly and personable, saying hello and made sure we were taken care of. I will forever say I can't wait to go back to Brooklyn to eat at Table 87!!!
We stopped by Table 87 before a show at The Bell House and had such a great time. We ordered the Pizza Margherita, Caesar salad, and chicken parm, and everything was delicious with super fresh ingredients. Our waiter was sweet and just really pleasant all around. We’ll definitely be back, even when we’re not heading to a show!
High quality Coal Fired Pizza. Great garlic knots. A little on the expensive side but well worth it for the quality of the ingredients they use.
We had our holiday dinner at Table 87 on a busy Friday night! Everything was perfect, food was delicious, drinks were good and the service was great. Even though it was a busy night, Monica was extremely attentive and so sweet. I was also so happy to see that they offer my favorite dessert as a slice! Don't skip the Nutella pizza! Looking forward to coming back.
Food is delicious, the cocktail menu is great and expertly made! I have been coming here more often- after a few months of not coming in because the service staff from 3-9pm is wonderful. Valentyna is so attentive and kind and she is excellent at her job! Thank you all for elevating the standard!
What a great warm welcome and friendly service. The Wild mushrooms & Truffle Pizza is an amazing Bianca and the Sausage & Peppers is a savoury classic.. the coal fire oven makes the crust light and fluffy.. one of the best I have had, no exaggeration.. it’s why I’m leaving this review! Their house lager was perfect match.. so is the Peroni! We came down late night to the Gowanus location.. highly recommend
My favorite pizza… in the world! Honestly, have been to Italy & all around NYC… this is the best pizza with Paulie Gee’s~ thin, crisp crust. Delicious, perfect red sauce. I get margarita & the mushroom slices. Never disappointed. Quick service. Show outdoor movies when good weather that are projected across the street on the back of the subway~ doesn’t get any more NYC than that! They have a bar that looks nice next door~ dimly lit, cozy, serves their menu there. For a perfect night, follow up down the street with karaoke at Lowlands Bar (has a great outdoor terrace)!
What a great place to go for an impromptu sunday night date! Fiance and I got the buratta caprese, calamari, and large marg pizza! We got there around 5pm and there were a good amount of tables open so there was no wait so we sat in a cozy booth. Also got the Yuzu specialty cocktail which was delicious. Over all 10/10 would recommend and will be back ! I think around 6pm the lights dimmed a little which made the evening feel even more romantic :)
10/10. Food was awesome, staff is very polite, and the vibe was right. We ordered the clam pizza, Caesar salad, octopus, and rice balls. Everything was absolutely delicious! We dine’d in and I couldn’t recommend them enough!
This was my first time dining in. I have to say, I love the decor of the restaurant and choices of seating. We had Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings for appetizer and the Wild Mushroom & Truffle Oil Pizza for our meal. The pizza is thin crust so it’s satisfying and not too heavy. Both orders were really delicious. For some pizza sauces, just be aware that it’s sweeter than other pizza places. Also, we ordered the Braised Beef Short Ribs special to-go - unfortunately this was ok. Highlights: Our waitress was super friendly and helpful! They recently opened a bar next door that’s connected to the restaurant - It is super nice and inviting! Will come back to try other things! Update: our new favorite square pizza!
Fantastic pizza place. I was randomly in the area and passed by Table 87. I read "coal oven pizza slice" and that's something that isn't the norm so I decided to try a slice. I was not disappointed. Excellent pizza. The slice had no flop and had a fabulous thin and crispy crust. They offer chilli peppers and confit/roasted garlic on the side as a condiment to the pizza as well. The gentleman helping me out suggested I try some chilli on the side -- and wow! Loved it! I tried a Margherita Pizza Slice and would highly recommend it. I'd love to visit again.
I love the pizza here and often go to the place on 3rd Ave, as it's a little more calm/peaceful in Gowanus - at least for now before they get done building the skyscrapers that are going up all over Gowanus. It makes me feel like I'm away from NYC for a couple of hours. 😉
Is a 7 dollar pizza slice in Gowanus criminal? Yes. Was it worth committing that crime? By and large, also yes.
Awesome pizza and local beers.. I am from UK and was just stopping on my travels with my dog I was able to eat outside with my dog. Pizza was great! And it was fab only thing, I was hoping to have another beer or two as I was walking and in hotel alone but the bill was brought and no return of waitress.
Nice cozy coal pizza place I had tortellini chicken soup was pretty yummy not cheap but worth it
Really excellent pizza at an expensive price. The quality of the pizza is quite good and fresh, however the only reason i am not giving five stars is because the middles of the pizzas tend to not be as cooked and more dough-y. The Margherita pizza was really flavorful and topped with really fresh, large basil. My personal favorite pizza, though, was the fig, speck, and arugula. Having sweet pieces of fig paired with salty, savory speck (prosciutto) was absolutely excellent. Be sure to ask for their roasted garlic and their chilies on the side. These elevate the experience to an ever better level. As for the price, both large pizzas after tax and tip came out to a little over $75. So it isn’t cheap, but it is definitely worth eating.
My pie came out soggy, but that’s kind of on me. I asked for pepperoni on half and got served with pepperoni and sausage on the *whole* pie. I didn’t send it back and all that extra topping weight definitely didn’t help. I usually judge a spot by a plain cheese, and I wish I had here, because the fundamentals were there: hearty and robust tomatoes sauce, quality cheese, and a coal-oven crust that begged for a little longer in the oven and it would be perfect. With the right topping balance (or just cheese), this feels like it could be a standout. Not holding the mix-up against them- still worth checking out. Excellent service and atmosphere. We also had calamari which was very good.
Great thin crust pizza. It’s actually the first pizza slide I’ve had trouble eating because it wouldn’t hold shape. Maybe that is a coal fired quality. Delicious particularly the sauce - bright tomato. Noticeable. Definitely on my list of go tos. A little tight in the front where you’d eat a slice and a steady stream of delivery guys made sitting on a winter day not ideal but pizza was dialed in.
The place has a great atmosphere and the service was very good. We ordered garlic Parmesan chicken wings (special) and they had a great crisp and juicy inside but lacked flavor. The 20" margherita pie is huge and incredibly cheesy. The cheesiest pizza I have ever had! But it's quite off balance. Overall the food is just fine.
Pizza is better than average but wow the meatball parm is a rip-off. $20 for a meatball parm sandwich on an 8 inch hero bread. Literally 1 meatball cut in half on each piece for a grand total of 2 meatballs for $20. That is outrageous, especially since the meatballs taste frozen. Never again
I was visiting from Maryland and with the family and I asked to take me for some NYC style pizza. We found your restaurant and when it said coal oven pizza I thought I was finally going to eat some great pizza. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The atmosphere was wonderful, waitress great. The toppings on the pizza great, but the crust was not what I was expecting, a lot of flopping and seems it was not in the oven that long. It was a large 20in and big slices which was cool, but my only suggestion is maybe let it stay in the oven a little longer. I don't like eating pizza with a fork.
Nice busy location when I was there, staff was friendly and nice, order our food. The pizza was not what I expected. Unfortunately, so many people in the neighborhood talk very highly of this restaurant. But the pizza did not taste like it was in a coal oven. I was looking forward to that taste but did not receive it. Maybe I caught them on a bad day it happened. Well, update this in the future.
I was definitely excited to try this place as I am just staying a couple blocks away and heard about it from a few people. Unfortunately it just did not satisfy, i got 3 slices to go. They put took it from the glass case and put it in the oven, but left it there for maybe 15 seconds before putting in a box and handing it to me. It was not that crowded in there and it seemed quick, but i didnt think anything of it. When i got home 7 mins later the pizza was straight cold: Pepperoni- while the pepperoni slices themselves were delicious and good quality, they could have been crisped. The peps were also just sliding off the pizza and this was one of the most floppy slices ive ever had in NY Mushroom basil- it was average, still the same flop Cheese square slice- despite being on the colder side of luke warm, this slice had a crisp crust and held together well and was my fave out of the 3
Cashier serving pizza and taking in cash with gloves on, it's funny how he handling money and touching thepizza crust of the pizza with them dirty gloves. I was there today Saturday 4:15 pm I wanted to walk out but I was hungry. O didn't eat the pizza crust. They need to do better at this place.
Asked several times for salt, pepper and oil for the table. Inconsistent. My family member waited over20min for his pasta dish. Never took accountability. Kept forgetting things. Overall not a good experience
Pizza nights are usually a highlight in our household, so you can imagine my disappointment after our recent experience at Table 87. What was once a favorite has fallen short. The pizza lacked even cooking, with a bland sauce that offered no flavor. For $57, our meal felt more like a letdown than a treat. While I must commend the service, the quality leaves much to be desired. It’s time for them to elevate their standards, or they might as well consider just selling frozen pizza.
Like other places that serve food do not waste your money , they charged me 14$ and after take literally one scoop the bowl was gone that’s a waste of money I didn’t even get full at all I stillll wanna eat and for less money at chipotle I would be full smh places like this do not spend your money they give you two grains of rice n half piece of chicken for 100$ smh
Waaaaaaay too expensive. 2 slice pizza and soda will cost you $22.50. this isnthe cost of great meal in a great restaurant. Ridiculously overpriced for worse than average pizza. I'm shocked
