Manhattan Triple Decker Restaurant Brooklyn Reviews
so far, this is THE premiere destination in north brooklyn for a quality chicken caesar wrap. service was aloof but professional. wish they had coke zero (regular or cherry tbh) but it was 10/10 regardless
Service was great (thank you Aidan!), they quickly accommodated our large party. Food came quick and was delicious! Sweet potato fries were amazing!
Was enjoying my meal at the counter when a grown man threw a hissy fit about having to wait for a table. I’ve been going to this diner for years, the hostess is always the same woman and she’s super friendly. It’s not her fault it’s a busy place! It’s a diner, you get what you get! Foods great, nice place to get a quick and easy meal. I’ve never had a bad experience.
Great diner I grew up around, fun atmosphere, like being in a mobster movie minus the danger
Very sweet servers, helpful, the portions are perfect, very retro vibe, great place to enjoy the classic Diner experience
5/5 because it does what a diner should do. Delicious food. Reasonably priced. Good portion. Good vibes. My friends and I come here frequently after our late night climbing sessions nearby. I love everything from the mozzarella sticks, curly fries, burritos, burgers, the pickles... Service is always great.
Finally a good diner in the neighborhood! So many great surprises on the menu! Staff are a good intersection of the people who live in Greenpoint and all the servers have been super friendly. We love this place!
Absolutely delicious. So happy to finally find a diner with veggie sausage on the breakfast menu. The staff are FANTASTIC and the prices are super reasonable. Gorgeous, fun decor and a great playlist. 10/10 no notes.
Cozy little spot for a super late dinner after a show with staff that was happy to serve us. The Reuben is amazing, can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
Got a good reuben and my husband got a patty melt. Not as expensive as expected and great ambience and service with a huge menu selection
Had two amazing breakfasts here over the past week. Staff were attentive with great attitudes- amazing especially as it was 11am on a Sunday and busy as hell! Everything was really well cooked and had great coffee flowing on demand. Will definitely come back next time I’m close by. Buy the eggs and bacon/sausage and share some waffles or pancakes.
The food was amazing me and my family will definitely come back
The consistency here separates them from all others. The team makes service feel personal and sincere. Their menu items show culinary imagination. The restaurant serves hearty amounts. The staff shows real interest in your satisfaction.
In the bustling heart of the city, The Three Deck Diner serves up a breakfast that borders on the sublime. My recent visit was highlighted by two dishes that deserve singular praise. The blueberry pancakes, a towering trio of fluffy perfection, were studded with plump, juicy berries that burst with sweet flavor in every bite. They were a masterclass in texture and taste, elevated by a drizzle of pure maple syrup. Then came the eggs benedict, a dish often fraught with peril, yet here it was executed with confident precision. The eggs were poached to a flawless, liquid gold consistency, resting atop a bed of thinly sliced, savory ham and a toasted English muffin. What truly set it apart was the hollandaise—a velvety, lemony cloud that clung to everything without being heavy. The Three Deck Diner isn't just serving breakfast; it's a celebration of morning classics, expertly rendered and deeply satisfying.
The wait staff was so friendly and I loved the food! Classic diner vibes
Walked in here at 1am and said 'we have 6 minutes until the G comes do we have time to get fries to go??' and they made it happen and it was delicious ❤️✨
Such a diner. Truly. The best. Great prices. Great food. Sweetest waiter ever gave me a great rec on the fried chicken sandwich and also MULTIPLE CHOICES OF FRENCH FRIES.
You get what you pay for and more. Honestly one of the best food and dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The Chicken Fried Steak was insane. Also the nachos were bangin, although I wish they had some pickled jalapeños in it.
What makes living in NY worth it? Three Decker Diner. I come here all the time (probably weekly) and it never disappoints. The staff (aka my diner gang) always welcomes us with open arms. Love the rotating cast of characters I get to interact with — makes me feel right at home. Top picks: AM quesadilla, tuna melt (with bacon), curly fries, meatloaf, chicken Caesar wrap and more!! Bless up
This diner is the perfect middle ground between a classic NYC diner and an upscale "vintage hipster" like is so popular in the Hudson Valley. There's a fun early 60's vibe here in the menu aesthetics and interior, and the dishes are classics with a few more modern twists. Ingredients feel high quality, everything on the menu is flavorful. Case in point - the brioche bun is this light fluffy glossy orb perfectly decorated with abundant sesame seeds. My little girl said "This bun is OUTSTANDING!" and it was. The servers were friendly and casual, just as diner servers should be. The music was upbeat, funky classics. The food was good and the energy was right. My only regret is that it took us a decade to try this place out because it's always so crowded! We will be back.
Came late last night, food was super good, playlist was amazing. Would come back again
A 45 minute wait for Sunday breakfast is a lofty ask when you're starving and didn't plan to wait outside in the cold. Don't be like me. Plan for the wait. Otherwise, once inside, it's everything you want. From the hungry man, buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes, to the breakfast burrito and hot coffee - it's breakfast done right for an affordable price. Thus the long wait times.
I wana try the whole menu. I thought It would have normal diner stuff and it does but just better. And the prices are right. Like 1/2 the menu is stuff below 12$. Service was top tier, they make you feel like a local. Def comin back to try the Ruben, the bkfst burrito & I wana see if the burger is better than it looks.
Finally tried three decker diner! Highly recommend the blueberry pancakes. Ask for Camille! she’s the best and she played great music :)
UPDATE: This place is incredible!!!!!!!’ I just had a perfect BLT n fries n it was delivered in under 15 min. That’s incredible. I’m not saying it’ll alwYs be that fast but to have all the requests n details perfect n delivered in 14 min??? AMAZING. U’ll love this place I had n absolutely perfect meal from this place last night! I’m very particular n specific in how I like my food n they got every single specific request perfect!!! That doesn’t happen often enough, especially when u look at how expensive food in nyc has become. I was in a big rush n still working n needed something fast n delicious. Their gyro was just the ticket. I also had a salad that was perfectly prepared based on my specific requests n maybe the best steak fries I’ve had in 5 years!!! Excellent work n big respect to the whole team there. I wish they didn’t close so early, that’s my only complaint lol.
First time coming here since the new owner and I’ve got to say the quality of food is so much better! The bacon and home fries are so flavourful!! I heard the coffee was variety, also so good. They kept the prices low which I so appreciate. This diner got a facelift and I’m so happy to now have a quality diner in my neighbourhood. 10/10 recommend.
Great burger, great food great price. The fries were perfectly like fried. They were perfectly crunchy and not sure if the burger was so done to the point it was just nice and juicy had beautiful flavor. Everything was on point. It was a nice comfortable seating. I really loved it. It was affordable and you know we’re only 20 bucks for a good burger egg on a burger. You know everything came with it. The fries were amazing.
i come to this place weekly, sometimes more. almost every menu item is fine, to really good, wait staff is v nice, but i just love hanging out in here. Great diner, one of my favorites in the city, and my favorite in bk
Perfect diner experience, no notes at all. Food delicious and heaping. Good prices and really classic diner interior. Would 100% return and recommend!
Perfect classic diner. The aesthetic is perfect, the food is excellent, and the service was great. My waiter Sam was attentive, friendly, and fun to chat with. Definitely recommend!
Amazing diner with excellent burgers and a menu full of tasty treats. Such a cozy space to be in. Just right. We had a burger and Mac and Cheese, which were both excellent. The decaf coffee was very good too. Service was good and the atmosphere is just lovely. Such a nice old school diner. The choice of tasty sounding meals on the menu is amazing -- it was hard to choose!
My partner and I decided to stop in here for a quick bite as we were heading to the Halloween parade on Halloween day after I had just gotten a tattoo. The atmosphere was super inviting, the staff were all a vibe considering they were definitely in the Halloween spirit! We had a waitress dressed as a rat and another waitress that dressed as a roach, super cute costumes!! I was able to touch up my makeup in their bathroom too. I just wasn't feeling great that day so I couldn't devour the food like I usually do, but it was super good! I had the chicken sandwich with onion rings and everything was freshly prepared, very good. My partner had a BBQ sandwich with fries, also super delicious! Everything was fun, such a vibe, we chatted with the staff a bit before we were on our way! We did no research and simply decided to stop in, which was the right call because it was a good vibe overall. Its not often I come to North Brooklyn, but I know that I'll definitely return if I'm in the area!
I love an old fashioned diner and being able to get something savory with a side of sweet is one of my favorite things. We were able to get seated right away on a Saturday which was so nice (although after us a few people had to wait) but the service was good and the food was standard with great prices. If I’m in the area again I would definitely go back!
Had an amazing time at Three Deck Dinner. The vibe is super chill, great spot to relax and enjoy some seriously good food. The chicken sandwich was unreal and the mozzarella sticks? Best I’ve ever had. Everything was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. Definitely coming back for more!
There’s a reason this Diner stands the test of time one of them being All Day Breakfast but I believe the other reason is simply quality. I opted to forgo the All Day Breakfast in place of a classic chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint. The chicken sandwich was lightly breaded and very crisp I did not feel lethargic or heavy at all after eating it. It didn’t need to be said at this point but this is a quality spot.
This is your friendly neighborhood diner, with some really amazing coffee. Turns out the coffee comes from Variety Cafe, and you can taste the deliciousness. The service was friendly and quick. The food was great! Super high quality, fresh and tasty. Feels like there are so few quality diners any longer. Happy this place is still here and still amazing. Looking for more tasty foods soon.
When at the Three Decker for the first time, you sort of have to try the signature sandwich. So I did, and it was just what I needed for lunch. The prices are fair, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food is great diner food. Definitely worth stopping in, and I'm sure I'll be back if I ever find myself in Greenpoint again.
The food and service were great! It was a little crowded so I felt a little overstimulated but other than that, the food was excellent. I’ve had many different menu options here with my favorite being the McMargie and their chicken and waffles. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed!
Love this place! Great area to start your day at the diner and walk around the neighborhood afterwards. Wait times are long so go prepared knowing that. Food is classically delicious and it’s such a fun vibe. It’s worth the visit. We got pancakes and omelets but I’m going back for the fried chicken sandwich!
Great corner diner, if you want quick service and low cost. I tried a bunch of premium breakfast posts in the neighborhood and returned three times to this diner. It’s probably 1/3 cost of other places but order was always correct, well good and service was efficient. Had a busy vibe but was welcoming to everyone, much friendlier than the premium breakfast locations on the nearby blocks.
I'm rating 4 stars and I left a decent tip so I'm going to verbalize what I believe the hard-working and well-meaning kitchen was thinking when they prepared my pizza burger: "Of course he wants lettuce and tomato and onions on this why wouldn't he want lettuce and tomato and onions on this we're not going to put the lettuce tomato and onions on the side like other places do he obviously wants lettuce tomato and onions on this." Ok that aside: greasy spoon diners are hard to come by these days, and the pizza burger should be as much a staple as a chopped cheese or a bacon egg and cheese. This one was very well prepared. Just, guys, I'll put the vegetable toppings on there myself if that's what I want to do.
Closer to 4.5! I had a great experience, everything you'd want in a diner. We did have to wait for about 25 min to get seated on a Saturday around 2 pm, but that's to be expected. The bloody Marys really hit a spot! I also ordered an egg white omelette with pepper jack, spinach and veggie sausage, which was solid. The buttered rye toast paired well. The vibe of this place is fun, classic diner with great tunes. Service was very friendly too. Would definitely come back, the pancakes looked delicious from afar. Relatively affordable spot too!
If you want a server who is humble and understands communication, problem solving, and time management, all while having a great sense of humor and hospitality that is all inclusive…SOPHIA is your go to! As a deep Southern girl new to NYC, she made my husband and me feel right back at home! We deeply appreciate her kindness and work ethic! 🙏🏾💕
angelina took such good care of our group! the food was standard diner food. nothing outstanding but super satisfying and exactly what we needed in the moment. lots to choose from and the pancakes taste like box cake which i loved
I went to Three Decker Diner yesterday with my older sister. We both enjoyed our lunches (look at the images)! My only criticism is the customer service. Specifically with a male waiter with glasses. He wasn’t the friendliness and urged us to sit near the bathroom. Keep in mind, there were multiple tables opened. As for our second waiter, she was more attentive.
This diner got new management about a year ago and totally changed it for the better! The new menu is super delicious diner food + some. They also have $10 cocktails. Service is good! Portions are huge. Wonderful for a casual meal. Curly fries are amazing here! Most entrees are under $15
Food is great. Atmosphere is great. I just have to say, and this is my first review I’ve ever felt like I had to post, simply because I love the place. There is a server, who, every single time I come in, is complaining about work, while simultaneously singing NON STOP while I am trying to read, or have some peace and quiet. She doesn’t greet people properly when they enter, she is just a bad vibe. One day I came in and she was bickering across the restaurant with the hostess. Honestly, I can deal with all of the above, but, please for the love of god, just ask her to stop singing.
It's a typical American dinner and in that sense it was awesome to experience as a tourist. But if it wasn't for the breakfast vouchers from our hotel, it would not be a place where we would regularly come back to. The options we had were coffee or tea and an egg sandwich with bacon, sausage or ham... we do not eat pork so just got a flavorless egg sandwich... the days after we just picked either a bagel (surcharge) or a muffin instead of the sandwich. Which were pretty nice.
Super busy and packed on nice weather Saturday morning. We went to the place and didn't be able to get in. We went home and order for delivery instead. Food came quickly but terrible packing. The juice from the food is leaking all over the paper bag and tare the bag. Delivery guy told me to call the restaurant if I have any problems with the food because the bag was leaking from the beginning. At least if they know there is a watery order, they should wrap the container up with plastic wrap to prevent the food break down the bag. I order steak and eggs; the steak has too much fat and potato are too soggy, meh. I went to eat there at least twice in past years and remember I wasn't crazy about the food but because I saw the place still there and want to give them a chance. So, I guess they didn't improve anything.
We've been here a few times and the food and service has generally been decent but recently it seems they are not fully staffed. Today there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant which is usually plenty busy. They need two at least as she was also handling pick-up orders. Health department grade pending sign a little concerning too. Also bathroom not very clean. I know people think it's better since new owners but honestly think it used to be managed better.
Food portions are huge. The service is ok. Really good coffee. The only problem is that the food is not tasty, kinda plain, is not delicious... I ordered steak and eggs and my wife ordered a Philly cheesesteak but we needed to put a lot of salt and black pepper to give it some taste.
Probably like the 4th time going and it has gotten progressively worse every time. The food is always fine but the service can be hit or miss. Today was definitely a miss, with the host being rude as always, and the waitresses being slow and unattentative. I blame upper management though, they need to see these issues before they affect day to day. Also, the cups with water are really worn out and should be replaced, it looks like people have chewed on them. I hate writing this but it needed to be said. I've said my piece. At least the food was well priced! And as always we still tipped (though not as much as before) because we want to give the benefit of the doubt.
$50 for 2 people to eat. Staff were short and not very welcoming. Toast and hash browns were burnt. Country fried steak had a lot of fat and was tough. We traveled 40 minutes to eat here and it was honestly a bit of a disappointment…. Renovation and a new cook is definitely needed.
Radio Days Burger (Swiss, mushrooms, bacon), steak fries, cherry pie. I ordered a medium burger, it arrived medium well. Not too much flavor, on the dry side. Bacon was texture of Teva sandal straps, bun: fresh and springy. Fries were solid, best part of the entree. Pie was legit, came out warm and would’ve made Norma proud. Staff was very cool and fun. Tunes were high quality. Go back to the drawing board on that burger, charge more and all will be well, I mean medium…🖖🖖
What happened to this place? I used to love their sandwiches, last 3 times I've ordered they're like the saddest poverty school lunch sandwiches with no filling, ingredients missing. Like fyre festival fare. Maybe it's better when you dine in but do not order takeout/delivery here, it's a joke.
Sorry triple decker but you have to do better than this! I want to give you guys a good rating so bad but this is unacceptable . $15 dollars for a few pieces of lettuce and some chicken ????! Then $12 in delivery surcharge’s???? That’s not even including tip . Please respond to this I don’t want to post
If your black they gonna make you wait an hr I was there with my autism son and they let so many people that came in after me and they sat them down right away I guess because white get served before us
Gluten-free beware! I called in advance of ordering French toast delivery to be sure I could get gluten free bread. I was told yes, just to note that on the order. The order came and it was obviously regular bread :( They don't have a good system to order and ensure you get gluten-free option.
Decent food, however., we had to wait nearly a hour for a table. When we were seated and when the food came my burger had no cheese as I requested and my friend’s fried egg had no runny yolk. Also, there are two bathrooms, both of which had no soap available which I assume is a health code violation and make me wonder if the workers don’t have clean hands when handling peoples food.
The service is so slow, the waiter gets involves with personal conversation, ignoring other people who are waiting to place an order… Feels like the stuff is on hangover. On top of that the man - was rude when i walked to him with my empty coffe cup and asked for a coffe refill.. I’ve been waiting for 5 mins and trying to get some attention. I really loved this place but the service make me think to find another spot
First and last time coming here. One of the dark hair waitress (not the skinny one) working Saturday noon has an attitude problem. I asked for coffee when the food arrives and her response was "i'll bring it when i can OK" with an annoyed tone. I was so taken aback i just wanted to hurry up, finish the lukewarm food and leave the place. Well, i guess she never could, cause the coffee never came and my husband saw she was constantly checking on her phone instead of customers. Such a shame because all the other workers seemed nice.
The waitress was quite impolite we were at the bar having breakfast and she served everyone on the side very well but we were quite ignored apparently being Latino at this time is a sin we continued eating and she already wanted to give us the account I felt discriminated against
The staff here is incredibly rude and the opposite of helpful. We came in last night as a group of 7. We were never greeted, the guy just asked how many people we were and when we told him we were 7 people he shook his said and basically said "pshhh, good luck". We originally then asked if we could split into 2 booths, but quickly realized that the bar section had an alcove in the corner with 5 open chairs that wrapped around the bar to more seats. The couple that was already seated at the bar on the corner even mentioned to us that they were leaving soon which would give us 7 seats all together at an otherwise empty bar. We asked another one of the staff if we could do that instead, and they said something along the lines of "whatever makes you happy", but when the original guy came back he asked us why we would think it would work when it's only 5 open seats. We tried to explain to him that the couple was leaving soon and we would have 7 seats but he ignored us and just shook his head while just looking at us. It's one thing if we were a big loud drunk group coming in and making a scene, but that's not what we were. We were a calm, quieter group that was just on the larger side, and we had no help from the staff in trying to make it work. The guy never addressed us again as we stood there awkwardly, eventually we just decided to leave because we truly did not feel welcome there. This is the first time I haven't felt welcome in my own home since moving to Greenpoint 5 years ago. The biggest disappointment honestly is just your location, because you guys do not fit the vibe of what is otherwise an incredibly friendly neighborhood. If you are looking for a late night diner, just go to Sunset Diner on Meeker Ave. Whether it's 2pm or 4am they will always greet you with a smile and make sure you are seated and fed.
Decided to splurge for my birthday and order delivery. Took nearly 2 hours for a cold, soggy gelatinous mess of a meal. Worst Monte Cristo sandwich I’ve ever had and fries that seem to have been submerged in water. Never ever again.
Poor customer service. Doesn’t seem like staff is quick to help out customers if they need anything else or check up on them. Very forgetful & mixes up the order. This isn’t the first time. Food is good. Staff is just not working with urgency especially when it’s busy. Organization & time management isn’t big here. One girl was toasting & buttering bread the whole time we were there.
TLDR: AVOID!!! Broken piece of plate within my food that chipped my molar. They were unresponsive and made me deal with THEIR insurance to reimburse my emergency dental bills. Eating here has been one of the most traumatic food experiences I’ve ever had. My gf and I dined in here for dinner and took back a leftover burger. While eating it, I bit into a big piece of a broken plate that was hidden inside the patty itself. This immediately crushed the edge of my molar clean off. Upon digging through the remaining food, I found another piece of broken dinnerware, which looks a lot like their brown cups. The sound of my molar crushing off is something I’m not going to forget, and I had to receive emergency dental care the morning after, which was during my working hours. I immediately called the establishment and am met with a manager who laughs me off. She gives me the email of the owners—great. After emailing them, they tell me they would “look into it immediately” and get back to me “as soon as possible”. I’m then met with radio silence for TWO AND A HALF WEEKS. Only when I threatened them with legal action did they decide it was appropriate to get back to me telling me they can’t reimburse me and that I would have to go through their insurance. Cue another week of waiting until I received a call from their insurance to start a claim with them. First off, why do I have to waste my time dealing with YOUR insurance when this entire ordeal was a result of YOUR negligence as an establishment? Furthermore, why am I the one who has to front an almost $1,000 emergency dental bill for over a month with absolutely no response, reassurance, or ounce of empathy from your establishment? This is absolutely ironic from an establishment that tries so hard to seem family oriented, when in reality, you care no more of your customer than any big corporation. I will never eat here again, and if you care about food safety, I’d advise you avoid this diner too.
Was excited to try this place, but sadly we were seated and so there were no booths available, and that there was one small round table at the back, and we passed a literal open booth with no diners sitting in it on our way to the smallest dirtiest table imaginable . The plastic cups were scratched and cloudy . From there we were ignored for 15 mins so we left.
Our late night experience here was so bad it’s laughable. The WORST service I have ever experienced. Was given a dirty scratched plastic cup with visible lipstick stains for water. When I asked for a new cup, it was huge inconvenience for them. Waitress didn’t apologise but instead responded with “well it’s not my fault it’s dirty”. Staff all had terrible attitude. Serving people is clearly a chore. Food was actually okay, but no where near good enough to make up for the service. If you decide to dine here…good luck.
Quite possibly the worst dining experience of my life. When I mentioned my allergy they responded “they play pretty fast and loose in the kitchen so good luck with that” and then brought out the most disgusting meal I’ve ever seen, it was somehow cold and hot at the same time almost as if it had been frozen and was microwaved on one side but not the other, I never write bad reviews but I have a severe food allergy that is life threatening and did not feel safe eating my meal after the waitress rolled her eyes when I told her about it and told me she’d “guess she do what she could”
updated review (Feb 2025): ZERO STARS!!!!! This place is just AWFUL. The only reason I even went here after the first bad visit was because friends wanted to, so I gave them a second chance. The customer service is either RUDE or non existent. I asked for a glass to drink my water out of, since the disgusting plastic glasses were scratched around the rim and I didn't trust them. But in the hour and a half I was there, I never received it. They didn't come over to check on us, ever. We had to hunt them down to order. And when my friends ordered, the waitress walked away, as if I wasn't even there to place an order! (the same one that never brought me a water glass) Had I had been there alone, I would have walked out before even being served. Don't waste your time or money here. I don't understand why people line up for this place on the weekends. Probably because the service is so bad inside that it keeps people waiting unnecessarily long times for tables, thus creating the hype that they're "cool" and "popular". original review (2024): Vegan offerings were unusual (not in a good way), and the "vegan panini" was TERRIBLE. Chunks of seasoned beets? Or some flavorless vegetable crumbling out of a dry sandwich that was not hot. No flavor. No crunch. Not what vegans actually eat or want to eat. In this day and age, especially in NYC, there is no reason to pass this off as a vegan meal offering.
