Myrtle Thai Brooklyn Reviews
We celebrated a special occasion here and had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was cozy. The food was delicious. The waitstaff were warm and friendly, and really made the evening feel really special for us. We left feeling happy, full, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend this place for any celebration or even just a nice night out!
We had a fantastic meal and experience at Myrtle Thai with smooth and attentive service from the friendly staff and owner. The Garlic wings were fantastic - Crispy, juicy and flavorful. Would highly recommend the fiery Basil Over Rice (Crispy Pork Belly) for spice lovers. The Thai Boat Noodles soup had a uniquely complex spice infused broth and was very enjoyable. Definitely try their sticky rice deserts.
Such a nice, cozy spot! The spicy wings are a must-try, they’re the original wings that made their garlic and sriracha wings so popular. The people here make you feel right at home, like you’re truly being taken care of. I’ve never been to Thailand, but the flavors feel so authentic and deeply rooted, especially with dishes like Kaprao and other classics. If you’re lucky enough to visit during mango season, you have to get the sticky mango rice! They use only the finest mangoes, and it’s the perfect sweet ending to a great meal.
This is the BEST affordable Thai food in New York I’ve tried in 2024!! If it were near my home, I’d go every week! Every dish was a hit, with not a single miss. The Thai dumplings were juicy and reminiscent of dim sum, while the garlic wings were crispy and savory with a hint of Bonchon. The basil over rice featured crispy pork belly with a perfect balance of flavors, and the duck curry was rich and fruity with tender, crispy duck. The crab fried rice was wok-fried to perfection with lots of crab meat and eggs. The Thai boat noodle soup was uniquely spicy and savory, so good that we even drank all the broth! The mango sticky rice, our dessert, had sweet mango and perfectly cooked sticky rice with coconut milk. Their drinks were equally delightful, with my favorite being the addictive lychee drink, Softly Spoken. Highly recommended!!!
I ordered the pork rice, salted egg yolk seafood, and duck curry set, and I was absolutely impressed! The pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with the rice. The salted egg yolk seafood dish was rich and indulgent, with the seafood cooked to perfection. The duck curry had a beautifully balanced flavor, with just the right amount of spice and a creamy texture that made it irresistible. Each dish complemented the others so well, making it a truly satisfying meal. Highly recommend this set for anyone looking for a delicious and well-rounded dining experience!
This Thai restaurant exceeded expectations with its delicious food and great service. We ordered crab fried rice, seafood curry, and garlic fried chicken, and each dish was a delight. The crab fried rice was well-prepared, with each grain of rice perfectly separated. The generous amount of crab meat added a subtle sweetness, and a squeeze of lime enhanced the flavors even more. The seafood curry was rich and flavorful, with a well-balanced sauce that complemented the fresh seafood. The shrimp, squid, and shellfish were all cooked just right—tender and juicy. The garlic fried chicken was the highlight of the meal. The crispy exterior was packed with aromatic garlic flavor, while the inside remained tender and juicy. Every bite was satisfying. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, the service was attentive, and the food arrived quickly. Overall, a fantastic experience—I’d love to come back and try more dishes!
It’s such a hidden gem in Brooklyn! Myrtle Thai is a family-run restaurant that has been here for 20 years! It sells Thai street food for super reasonable price. My first time here was a mind-blowing experience. We ordered the basil over rice with crispy pork belly, garlic chicken wings and basil over rice with minced pork, all tasted amazing! Wish I knew this place earlier! Definitely worth a visit :)
Love the intimate vibe this place has. Service was very good with waiters and owner coming by to make sure everything was to our taste. Lastly, I tried the Basil over Rice with fried pork belly and it was amazing. The spice amount was perfect for my Mexican taste buds. Pork was crispy and tasty. My favorite part of the experience was the drink. I tried the Sunny Afternoon and it is now my favorite drink. I'm going to see if any Thai or asian places make something like this in Houston where I'm from because it was such a good drink.
Order the sriracha wings and thank me later. The food was so good I forgot pause for pictures of everything! We also had the Thai iced tea float (amazing), the crispy duck pad Thai, the crispy chicken yellow curry (perfect spice level), and the ice cream over sticky rice (perfection). Kind hospitality and cozy atmosphere. Best Thai in Brooklyn! P.S. there was a line but we were still seated quickly!
I had an incredible dining experience at Myrthle Thai! The flavors were authentic, and each dish was prepared to perfection. The food was best! The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Thai food. Can’t wait to come back!
We been back one a week from lunch to dinner , drive from queens to this gem place for months now. Been tried almost half of the menu. Best to get is the garlic wings, Thai dumplings, basil eggplants, pad kee mew with beef. And pork special needle soup. Great service, absolutely delicious food! Super friendly staff, it is pleasant coming back every time. The Thai tea with ice cream is the best drink I even have , is a MUST try !!!!!
Glad I discovered this hidden gem. The ambiance and vibes of this place is amazing. As soon you walked in, you'll see the fall the decor they have and it gives me the cozy vibes. Me & my family loved the food. Thai cuisines just never disappoint. From their appetizer to dessert, it was amazing. My main FAVORITES are spicy wing, crab meat fried rice and the sweet coconut sticky rice w/ custard. Def would recommend!
I came to this restaurant specifically because I saw great reviews on Xiaohongshu. Every dish I ordered perfectly suited my taste, and the staff here are very pleasant. I especially liked the duck curry — it was delicious! The music they play here is also Thai, which adds to the comfortable atmosphere. Overall, this is a restaurant I would definitely come back to with friends!
We really enjoyed the food & drinks, very affordable and def would recommend this place! - Pad See Ew with beef has a nice work aroma, the lunch special is only around $12 and came with 2 spring rolls, super good deal!! - Crispy pork belly over rice has great flavour, but the skin is not crispy so we were slightly disappointed. - Garlic wings are crispy and juicy, so delicious! Kinda like Korean wings and I can’t get enough of this! What took me by surprise are the drinks! Only priced at $8, the Thai tea with coconut ice cream is not overly sweet with strong Thai tea flavour, there is even shredded coconut in the ice cream! The ‘man in the mirror’ mocktail is sweet & tangy, great summer drink!
Just had an amazing meal at this spot! The chicken Thai rice was flavorful and the spring rolls? Chef’s kiss—the tamarind sauce paired perfectly with the cabbage filling. The garlic wings were next-level delicious, crispy, and so well-seasoned. The service was top-notch—shoutout to Nae, our waitress, who was so sweet, patient, and thoughtful. The atmosphere is stunning, and the restaurant is conveniently close to a park, perfect for a quick stroll after your meal. Bonus points for the constantly changing menu with fresh, exciting options. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, amazing service, and good vibes!
This is actually my first time trying Thai food. As a person who is very sensitive to spicy food, I enjoyed the food very much, way beyond my expectation! We ordered coconut soup, and it was so delicious that I almost bottomed up immediately. The curry puff was crunchy but also soft. The salted egg yolk seafood was a must try! The service was friendly and the price was also very reasonable. I will definitely revisit next time!
I’ve been here twice so far and both times have not disappointed! The prices are affordable but I would recommend the Massaman curry with CRISPY chicken (have to specify) and the sunny afternoon. I can’t wait to try more!
Three people. 20 dishes. Just under $17 per plate. Insane value for flavor this good! ⚡️ This cozy neighborhood gem has been serving authentic Thai food for over 20 years—and it shows in every bite. Here’s a taste of some must-try highlights👇 🍗 Spicy Wings & Garlic Wings Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The glaze is rich, flavorful, and addictively sticky—every bite delivers a satisfying crunch. 🥟 Curry Puff Flaky pastry filled with fragrant chicken and curried potatoes—each bite is a warm, savory explosion of comfort. 🥥 Coconut Chicken Soup Creamy coconut milk with mushrooms and onions—like sipping a tropical breeze. Gentle, cozy, and full of soul. 🥗 Papaya Salad Shredded green papaya with chili-lime dressing—crispy, spicy, and tangy in the best way. You’ll be saying “so refreshing!” after every bite. 🍜 Pad Voon Seen & Pad See Ew Glass noodles and flat noodles done right—bouncy, silky, and coated in just the right amount of savory sauce. The beef Pad See Ew especially hits that perfect sweet-savory note. 🦀 Crabmeat Fried Rice & Salted Egg Seafood Every grain of the fried rice is infused with crab flavor—clean, oceanic, and satisfying. The salted egg seafood arrives in-shell and packs an umami-rich, finger-licking punch. 🐟 Red Snapper with Ginger Sauce A whole crispy red snapper served with light, gingery sauce—tender inside, golden outside, and full of Thai street-style flair. 🍨 Mango Sticky Rice & Ice Cream Sticky Rice Desserts didn’t fall short—ripe mango with soft sticky rice, and coconut ice cream over rice that refreshes and comforts at the same time. A perfect ending!
Had a dinner date with my friend on a rainy day here, it has such a romantic calm vibe with good music and lovely flower decorations with cute tableware😍the food was amazing, came hot and delicious. I recommend the garlic chicken wings and broccoli with bbq pork!!! I always come to this place and loved it, their lunch menu is great too!
An unforgettable dining experience showcasing a perfect blend of freshness and indulgence. The green papaya salad stands out with its crisp texture and bold flavors, while the curry shrimp offers a creamy, aromatic touch. The crab meat fried rice impresses with its light yet savory profile, and the banana coconut sticky rice with ice cream is a heavenly tropical dessert. The butterfly pea flower drink adds a refreshing and visually enchanting final touch to this exceptional meal.
Absolutely loved this place! The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced — especially the salted egg yolk seafood, which was outstanding. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend if you're craving delicious, genuine Thai food.
I've been here several times and the food and drinks are always excellent! This time I had the crab fried rice which was delicious and just as important had a healthy serving size that kept me full. Just make sure to call ahead for a reservation time slot on the weekend because the place is frequently packed!
I’m still dreaming about their mango sticky rice. Probably the best I’ve ever had in NYC, the warm sticky rice paired with the sweet mangoes were bursting of flavors. We always order a whole fish if it’s on the menu. Their crispy red snapper did not disappoint!Another dish worth mentioning was their salted egg yolk seafood. It was creamy and decadent, the sauce paired so well with rice. The wings were good (we ordered sriracha and garlic) but gave us Korean fried chicken vibes, just wished they’ll take up on more authentic Thai flavors. Massaman curry duck was good but it was fried duck…couldn’t really tell it was duck. So not sure if it’s worth the surcharge for duck as protein. Homemade drinks were pretty but lacking in flavor profile. Overall, we shared a lovely meal on a Friday evening. Their delivery was insane but service did not lack. I’m willing to go just for the Mango sticky rice again!
I found myself in Clinton Hill again and visited Myrtle Thai for lunch a few weekends ago. I found their food to be delicious, portions solid, and the prices reasonable. The restaurant itself is small with a casual vibe. The space can accommodate more people thanks to the extension in the back of the building. It can get busy during peak hours, but the service is friendly, and they do their best to keep things moving. I went for the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), and it never disappoints. The noodles have the perfect chew, the basil flavor is strong, and they bring just the right amount of heat. The Tom Yum soup is another favorite—sour, spicy, and packed with fresh herbs. If you like curries, the Duck Curry is well recommended! The curry was rich and creamy, with a good mix of vegetables and tender duck. For appetizers, the crispy spring rolls are a safe bet, light and crunchy with a nice, sweet chili dipping sauce. I tried the Angel Shrimp dumplings – this one is well-recommended. Stuffed full of shrimp and other fillings, this was a mouthful, but a delicious experience. And if you have room for dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice is worth trying—sweet, fragrant, and always a good way to end the meal. Finding a Thai place in the Clinton Hill neighborhood was quite the pleasant surprise, and I look forward to returning to them again whenever I’m in the area.
We tried the chicken kra tiem, garlic chicken, papaya salad, sticky rice, and the new taro pudding coconut cream with coconut ice cream dessert. Everything was very flavorful and the dessert was delicious and fresh. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxing and made for a great date night!
Delicious and authentic food. The menu has so many unique street food options. We came with our toddler and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Would def come back.
My friend and I really enjoyed our meal here. Ordered a couple of appetizers and entrees and everything was so yum. The wings and chive pancakes were so flavorful, a must! The snapper fish in garlic sauce was sooo good. Both the crab rice and shrimp basil rice were filling. And can’t end the meal without the sticky rice with coconut icecream, so so gooood.
Came here this evening and was blown away. In many instances when you get to a restaurant to closing they tell you that the kitchen is closing or closed. But not here!! The servers here at Myrtle Thai were more than accommodating. The customer service was impeccable. Our food came out promptly after ordering and not only did the look beautiful but they tasted amazing! Would highly recommend recommend coming in to get the full experience. But also recommend take out as there flavors are worth it. 10/10 would recommend and definitely coming again!!
Myrtle Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in Brooklyn! I go to school nearby and it’s the perfect spot to grab a lunch in between classes. If you come here, you MUST order their Thai tea. They have one of the creamiest and the most flavorful thai tea! If you can, come and grab their lunch specials which are totally worth the money. You get the option to get one appetizer. I usually go with the salad, but they have other good options. But DEF get the thai tea.
I returned to this family-owned Thai restaurant for the second time and had another fantastic experience. I visited with a friend, and we were both impressed by the fresh, flavorful dishes and the inviting, homey atmosphere. Naetinun, made the visit even better with her warm and attentive service. This place really feels like a hidden gem, full of warmth, care, and delicious food that keeps you coming back. I’ll definitely be visiting for a third time!
Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time and was really impressed. Every dish had its own unique flavor and stood out in a different way. Nothing tasted generic or the same. The spices were well-balanced, the portions were good, and the overall meal felt thoughtful and authentic. Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for solid Thai food in the area!
Excellent quality, authentic food at fair prices. Space has a neighborhood Thai place vibe but the food is better than your normal neighborhood Thai place, with the inclusion of a street food menu ❤️. Attentive, friendly service. I ordered the crab fried rice and Chinese broccoli with crispy pork and was impressed by both. I was even impressed by the pork to broccoli ratio because it’s usually most broccoli. This is the first time I’ve had the proportion reversed. The lunch special is only $12 or $13 from memory. But I would go with the street food menu!
Visiting from out of town and this place was nearby our hotel so we decided to try it out and they did not disappoint!! We loved the garlic fried wings and the mango sticky rice most but everything we got was so yummy and flavourful! Oh and I loooooved the Christmas decorations inside — so beautiful! Thanks to all the staff that made us feel so welcome and were quick with their service.
The food at Myrtle Thai was delicious. The vegetables and berry rice was delicious. The pineapple rice was also very delicious. My favorite was the sticky rice with mango compote. It’s amazing how they make a delicious dessert out of rice. The service was great and the restaurant had nice music and a nice ambiance. I recommend this place for delicious and affordable Thai cuisine.
My friend and I are serious about thai food We loved it & will be back! RECOMMENDATION: Duck curry: super crispy, pineapple goes well Green thunder noodle: tangy, lil spicy, if u love green curry then go for it! I rec pork it was so juicy Thai ice tea float Mango sticky rice Which is everything we got!
I genuinely loved my experience at Myrtle Thai — especially their special prix-fixe menu. The crab rangoon and angel shrimp were such a good start: perfectly crispy, super flavorful, and paired with sauces that actually complemented the dish instead of overpowering it. The crispy chicken basil over rice was my favorite — a little spicy, and topped with a sunny-side-up egg that made it feel extra comforting. It had that perfect mix of street-food energy and home-cooked warmth. And the taro pudding with coconut cream and coconut ice cream? So good. Creamy, lightly sweet, and such a satisfying texture The drinks were refreshing as well. The whole meal felt cohesive, like each course flowed into the next. I left full, happy, and already thinking about when I can go back!!
Had a great meal at Myrtle Thai. The pineapple fried rice with chicken was very good and well balanced. The spicy edamame was a MUST order especially if you love spicy food. Dessert was excellent. The coconut ice cream with sweet sticky rice was AMAZING, and the mango sundae was a really nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was impressive and I would definitely come back. Of note, they did offer to take 5-10% of our check for a review. Which we appreciated and didn’t take away from my overall experience at the restaurant.
I’ve always loved the relaxed, effortless vibe of Thai street food — affordable, comforting, and incredibly flavorful without trying too hard. On a chilly evening, I found myself at Myrtle Thai, a cozy little spot glowing with fairy lights and a soft hint of rose in the air. Wooden furniture, lush greenery, and warm lighting instantly set the mood — casual, intimate, and inviting.
A definite five star restaurant - from vibe to service and most importantly the FOOD! The pad Thai is amazing as I love the sweet and savory taste. My friend ordered the Thai boat noodles and both of us are impressed by the curry broth! The dessert is the best as we really enjoy how the savory Taro and sweet coconut ice cream is so compatible! The service is also considerate but not pushy at all. I'll definitely come back if I visit this neighborhood again!
No joke one of the best Thai places in the city. The massaman curry with beef is incredible. Not too spicy with plenty of flavor. The peanuts really provides a good crunchiness to the savory curry. Loved how the potato’s absorb the flavors. The pad Thai with shrimp also great, and I asked for a drink that’s not too sweet and the lemon Thai ice tea was just it. Really washes away the curry and refresh the palate for another round of flavor. The lunch special pricing is amazing, would be here on the regular and if not order delivery.
What a gem! First of, no wait for dine-in. That in itself is a pro in our book. Now, the food: Crispy Garlic Wings - you better come hungry because you would finish this plate. Juicy, flavorful, saucy! Shrimp Karee - Eggy, packed with flavor and lots of shrimp. If you want to share (you probably won’t) it’s a great dish to get. Pad see yew w/ crispy pork belly - definitely reccomend this! Perfect combo of salty, sweet, soft and crunchy. You would come back for this. Overall, great service, awesome staff and amazing food. If you’re thinking twice to go here? Just do it, you won’t regret it!
Delicious, friendly, a-roi.\nThe So High School is so high school (i mean, sour). The restaurant is stylish with nice decorations.

Delicious food with great service! Loved the coconut rice and the fried noodles with crispy chicken.
I moved to the neighborhood recently and wanted to check out some food and discovered this place. I got massaman curry. Absolutely tasty! So flavorful. Would go back for that alone.
The food was delicious. We had the duck curry, noodle soup and garlic wings, all were so flavorful. The service was good too. It became packed quick.
It's very delicious. I don't understand why the rating is so low, and the price is also very affordable. There is a large glass of juice.

Overall food quality is good! We really like the garlic wings, crispy and juicy. The pad see is also good but on sweeter side. Mango sticky rice is tasty. But Tom yum soup is not our favorite. Not busy during workdays. You can ask for spicy sauce if it’s not spicy enough. Would recommend to give it a try.
Very festive with the tree right in from of the store. Food was a bit salty to be honest but tomyum was great. Close to Pratt Insitute. Recommend here for close proximity and cheap lunch.

Lunch special prices are 10.95 which included an appetizer. The chicken dumplings were good but the chicken pad see ew was okay. Chicken didn't have flavor had to add sriracha for flavoring.
Placed order on Sunday for Crispy chicken and basil fry rice mild x2 .10 mins to be ready. I returned to pick order up the desk attendant said two order chicken with basil fry rice one mild one spicy …….,I said no both mild. Four people spoke among themself in their language behind the desk then . I was told food was mild , only to get home with one mild the other with chunks of pepper over it. This was very dishonest of them, not one of the four people could be trusted .if this was peanut allergies it would an emergencies .i don’t need a next meal , just need to be told the truth .This could of been avoided by being honest.
