New Apollo Brooklyn Reviews
Food is excellent and the blue Hawaiians and Henny coladas are to die for!
The people in restaurant is very nice, talks Spanish, food is great. Its one of the best chinese food I've tasted hands down. 👍
Small cozy, the fried rice is really good! Made me a little nostalgic to the way the old Chinese restaurant used to make it when I was a child and going to a restaurant was an event.
Good chinese food and of course the drinks are good too. Drinks get more and more expensive every time I come back though
Wonderful food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. A great place to bring friends for a beer and some Chinese food.
Great drinks and so many different types of drinks to choose from. The chicken Wings are good as well.
Love love love the food here. I always get the fried chicken egg fried rice and a gallon ice tea
Absolutely delicious drinks ! Very refreshing and perfect for summer. Extremely swift service. Staff are kind.
My classmates brought me there, and it made me know instantaneously why they liked that spot so much. I want to go back soon
Love this place! Food is great, service is great, but I really go for the drinks!
I’ve been going to this location and the other since I was a child even though I moved out to the island I still made the drive to get the best damn Puerto Rican authentic Chinese food anywhere. I rave about this place too all of my friends.
Nice Place!! Good Mix Drink like Blue Hawaii, something more stronge HeneColada (nice and Frozen) Great Food also, Chicharon de Pollo, Bistek, Pork Chop, T-Bone, some fried Rices and Aguacate baaammm!
The food was excellent My son really enjoyed his dish - couldn't stop eating Service was great the staff greets you with a smile and you going to love the warm bread they serve while you wait for your food
💛💙❤️ if you want super tasty alcoholic drinks. Try Wonder Woman & Melon Ball. The place gets packed on Fridays & Saturdays.
The food always delicious & the drinks stay on point. Frozen Blue Hawaiian & Frozen Miami Vice soooo freaking good
Drove all the way from NJ to try this place. The food was delicious, it came out fast and the service was great. A great taste of South American Chinese cusine (iykyk)
This restaurant has the “it” factor.
My go to spot for the drinks. Amazing! The staff are nice and give you what you want.
Good place to get Chinese-Venezuelan food, they have all the classics and the seasoning just hits different, not my favorite to dine in but definitely good for delivery, specially if you are hungover
New apollos is the perfect blend of Chinese food and spanish food. The pork fried rice is to die for and the drinks are strong.
I Love eating at New Apolo on the weekends because of the fast service and great drinks. They have a wide selection of mixed drinks that are great for anyone looking for a speedy but enjoyable dinner
Apollo's has always been a staple in my youth. Their food is so delicious. Their famous iced tea and frozen cocktails are just as good. The staff is of Asian orient but they speak Spanish, clearly and understandable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great acoustics; this place rules.
Best food ever! Everything tasted good. We pulled up with 10 people. Every ones food was fresh and served promptly even though it was well after regular dinner time. Good costumer service also. I highly recommend this place.
Best Chinese food awesome frink spot i have nothing bad to say about my New Apollo. Check it out right now!
I recently came here for lunch and the bang for your buck is out of this world for the lunch special. The pork fried rice is the best I’ve had in NYC and the Sesame Chicken was fresh and tender. The price point is great. You also can’t beat that they have mixed drinks available if that’s something you like. Used to live nearby and wish I would’ve frequented more when I did, because I really enjoyed my lunch here.
We usually get take out, had 1 date night inside few weeks ago, not the best looking spot, but their dine in service is good. Love the food and the alcohol drinks are strong and delicious.
Been coming here for years and before this one opened been going to the other location since I was a kid with my parents, live the broccoli white sauce and house special fried rice and an order of boneless chicken , gotta love the good stuff, try it out I hear the alcoholic drinks served here are great too.!!!
Food is delicious. Very flavorful
One of my favorite spots for a quick drink on the go that packs a punch. There sauté shrimps are a must...
Good food and a good date place that won't hurt your pockets and bonus they serve adult beverages.
Only ordered drinks ..but watch them and make sure they put the correct liquor you ask for.
Pretty simple n clean place. The drinks are lit! Ninja turtle my fave right now😁
If your a fan of Chino/Latino aka Asian fusion, I've been a loyal customer 20yrs !! grand st location is the best over all. .
If you want Chinese food & you’re in the bushwick area, come to this spot. The food is amazing & they serve you pretty quick. They also have a drink menu which is always a plus. Drinks are really strong so you get a bang for your buck ;)
Best Chinese fried rice in NYC, grilled Salmon with garlic is delicious W/ plantains,, ribs, and T-bone steak. Decent prices, drinks r excellent and strong, 1 Hennycolada n u go to go.
Cash only restaurant. Minimum on card is $15. Tried the small chicken Fried rice. Quantity and Taste was good. Staff was courteous. Worth for price.
The best chine22018se food in the area. Original brown rice instead of yellow rice. Food absolutely delicious. Great mixed drinks. Food prices are great but drinks are high. Recommend any and all chicken dishes. June28, 2018 Still top rated food . The only problem is that I order the same thing every time and also have the take out menu on front of me and I always get charged different prices. Most of the time it isn't to much but it's the principle one the matter.
Ordered through uberEats the general tso was good by itself. I ordered the pork fried rice but the pork was still chewy that was my only downside about it. I also had the broiled shrimp and salad 5/5 would recommend.
Been coming here for years now..especially since I can walk to it instead of drive to the Williamsburg location. Food is alright but I definitely come here for the drinks! Their service is good but the only negative thing is at times on Friday & Saturday nights the line has gotten way too long & way too noisy with people wanting to fight & cause problems.
Good food and great prices. they have a bar but I never ordered a drink. I go for the lunch specials. Nice seating with booths. Fried rice taste better than a lot of Chinese spots I've been to.
Their drinks are good and the food is different than other Chinese food places. I enjoyed my General chicken. The portions of take food is small compared to other places and how much they put on your plate when you dine in. I overall like this restaurant.
I love this place and all their food but I beg you to have some sort of way to order online . I drives me nuts that we can’t.
Great little greasy spoon for food and drinks. The atmosphere isnt so great @ all nor the decore. its strictly set up as a cop & go (NYC slang) meaning its best to get your order to go. Theres no inviting ambience but the food and drinks are pretty damn good. Its also great for an after hour or after party spot.
The most authentic Chinese food you can get anywhere in Brooklyn. They have the real fried rice not that regular yellow thing local Chinese restaurants serve. Their food is amazing definitely thin you guys should give it a try I got the shrimp fried rice with fried boneless chicken and it was great! Only downside is that they need to regulate the social distancing rule here. I usually just call and pick up to save time but they should definitely enforce that before they get shut down.
The drinks ate great but the food let's just say it's not what I'm use to from a Chinese restaurant didn't enjoy the food...
Good food but bad service they barely know english and barely know spanish so I didn't understand I got so angry and they were literally kicking me out I went there and hour and a half before closing time and he was telling me and my Fiancé if we were there to eat in to hurry up because they want to close I am never going back there every again!
The prices for their mixed drinks could be more reasonable 15 for a ice tea size mixed drink is eh. Was tastey and fun to try.
I’ve always gone to their other spot but the food here was trash. I gave a 3 star only because of their drinks. Ordered delivery most of the general tso chicken had no chicken, it was very disappointing.
Great drinks and the food was bland, chicharron was too dry and chunky.
Came here once based on the google reviews and pictures. My food was okay. But my partner order breaded chicken and it was literally like cardboard. You can tell it was so old and it was so dried. I have general chicken It was alright but I had better.
I have no clue what happened to this place. They lost their magic. After not coming back here for a long time I must say I should’ve never come here period. Miserable small piece of palomilla steak. My friend ordered the chicken crackling, dry dry dry and very hard. Sweet plantains were black. Almost burned. As if they refried old plantains and serve them to another customer. Drinks were very bland and tasteless. Never coming back to this place. In addition, we got yelled at by the server because we didn’t want to sit where he assigned us. We weren’t feeling the table. Also, the place was empty. Shouldn’t have never been a problem. If you haven’t come here in a long time or haven’t been here just do yourselves a favor and spend your money elsewhere unless you think my rating and comment is a bluff. You’ve been warned.
I ordered shrimp fried rice with bistec encebollado (stake with onions). The food was bland and I swear to god in the shrimp fried rice there was a black shoulder length hair and as well on the stake and onion , what a waist of money, please wear your hair nets
Food was ok. Boneless spare ribs were not made the usual way and I would advise to stay away. If you want something safe, I would say go for the sesame chicken. 6/10.
This place is only good for drinks. They keep their raw, seasoned chicken next to the garbage. Disgusting!!
Food was trash but the drinks must be good because a whole bunch of people were in and out.
The food was SUPER OVERPRICED! I was not impressed by the taste. It was okay . The chicken and beef on a stick were horrible. Beware they do not accept credit cards only cash, debit and apple/ google pay. I won’t be back.
Rice was good. But you guys need to work on your master sauce. The general tos chicken tasted like bbq sauce mixed with hot sauce and just all types of wrong.
Only gave them 2 stars because the drinks were ok.. they were decent… the food though not so decent… i hate writing reviews like this but i had to.. hopefully they get better because once upon a time they were actually really good..!
We drove in from Staten Island because my son had been here before and enjoyed it. I not sure what he ordered but I ordered the steak with mushrooms and it was very disappointing. The rice tasted old and hard and the steak had a weird sour taste and I threw it all of it out. The drink was great, and my son enjoyed what ever he ordered.
Really disappointed given the number of reviews and the high rating. Ordered sesame chicken and general tso’s combos with shrimp fried rice and also a wonton soup. The chicken they give you is in really big chunks. Like think a third of the size of a chicken breast. Most people want nugget-sized chicken for Chinese food. The flavor of each sauce was decent and the rice was pretty good. The wonton soup was a brownish red and not the yellow that every other place has. It also has big chunks of pork in it which I wasn’t a fan of. Below average experience overall.
The order arrived promptly, but unfortunately, it was mispacked. Everything was jumbled up and covered in sauce inside the bag. It was a complete disaster.
Today, July 18, 2025, I had the worst experience with the skinny Chinese delivery guy from that restaurant. He insulted me for telling him to help me hold the door because I had a baby. He was rude at first, and when I asked him not to be rude, he insulted me and I told him your day had to be worse, but don't take it out on me. It was just a favor. I could have tipped you, but he excused himself because his bike was more important than helping me. ❌💔🤕😭 I WOULD NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT CHINESE DELIVERY MAN'S FACE AGAIN.
Atmosphere full of Gang members , they go to buy there alcoholic fruit drinks, pickup delivery fine wouldnt recommend eating there .
$35 dollar drinks Hennessey coolata not worth it make your own at home. That drink gave me upset stomach nausea and diareah . save yourself.
My daugther, niece and nephew was there yesterday mind you they’re all teenagers. He order steak and they gave him a burger thinking he wouldn’t know. Then told him since he cut it he still had to pay. Lord knows I wish I was there!
The food here is disgusting I don't know who the chef is but fire him asap. The only thing that could possibly be keeping them up is the awesome drinks.
Probably one of the worse Chinese food I ever ate in my life nothing like Jardin de China , I ordered general tso chicken with white meat they gave me general tso chicken skins it was horrible I almost puked be advised the best part of my meal was the homemade ice t to wash all that nasty taste out of my mouth never again
They forgot to give me my debit card back . When i called they denied having it. When u checked my account it had been use twice after in same location to buy. The purchases after i left was done instore . I called back to notify my card use and they stop answering my calls withing 5 mins
******* 😠🕷WARNING WARNING😡😠 **** Food and drinks are good BUT A ROACH FELL FROM THE CEILING IN TO MY FOOD. GOOD THING MY HUSBAND TOLD ME. MY BABY SON WAS WITH ME. IAM SO HAPPY I DID NOT GIVE HIM NO FOOD. I JUST CANT EAT FROM THIS PLACE NO MORE. WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY DID TO THAT FOOD. THEY DID REPLACE THE FOOD THEY SAID SORRY. BUT I JUST COULD NOT STILL EAT IT. JUST LETTING PEOPLE KNOW DON'T WANT ANYONE TO EAT A ROACH.🕷🕷
The only reason I gave it 1 star is because you can’t give them a zero. My wife food was soggy and inedible. I will never eat anything from here again!!!!
Worst food & service EVER! Nasty is a understatement ! Yes both food and phone guy. I promise this is not personal at all. I’ve been there a few times previously and the food was ok well the chicken chunks (although dry and no sauce is provided to help) & Henny colada’s were pretty good but those days are over. I tried them again as the pandemic was going on & it was awful. I thought everyone is entitled to a bad day. Second time around, it was 10Xs worst then my last experience. Never again!!! If u want good Chinese food DONT GO TO NEW APPOLLO I Promise you’ll be wasting ya money and mad u didn’t take the reviewers opinion. Trust me on this 1. Yuck yuck & yuck Oh last but not least of this matters, I spent $40 with them and getting a free drink wasn’t a option.
I will not be ordering from this place ever again. The good is disgusting. The service is disgusting. The delivery man is rude. The guy who took my order is rude. I ordered $40 worth of food. I asked if I get free soda he said that’s not his problem. He can’t help me. Then told me because I complained I can not get delivery anymore.
No social distance rules or mask a freaking bar every one there was just young kids buying blue Hawaii’s would never go back disrespectful to customer who just want to pick up our food and leave
Today I went to this place for dinner. I ordered the crackling chicken combination, with veggie fried rice and vegetable salad. I felt the meal was overpriced as I was, expecting a salad, and not just a slice of tomato and five pieces of lettuce. The chicken I could tell had been fried over and being white meat it became overdone and chewy. The presentation was poor as all the food was piled up on one plate and after asking for a small plate to remove the veggies I saw that the water from it had settled on the bottom of the plate. Having gotten no napkin which I thought was an oversight i had to remove the one from the bread basket to mop up the liquid. The meal came with no sauce and when I asked for the pepper oil I was given a mushy pepper blend. From the start I could tell my experience was gonna be off when the bread basket came with the bread which had been out was leathery and cold. When I was asked if I wanted to order drink and declined I was not offered the usual water and again I had to ask. This again came without ice in it or the few pieces of lemon usually offered and only while I started to choke on the rough fibres of the chicken breast.
Quality of food was not good at all. Dry, recooked taste. Not sure if the other location on Grand st is better but I ordered a big family meal and it was no good. Drinks are always great tho.
First supposed restaurant where the waitress states I can't get a meal the way I want even though I stated I would pay extra. The atmosphere is straight hood, I grew up in some of the worst neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Bronx, & Queens, but dam, my old neighborhoods had a better atmosphere than this place. I only ate here cause a friend wanted to eat there, but I let him know never to suggest that place again when we hang out. Panda Express is a better option, & that's saying a lot.
Went here Friday, was excited to try because I've heard great things about their food&drinks. My experience was horrible. Was seated and was waiting a while for someone to tend to us. We called the waitress over when we got her attention so we could order. My friend asked her if they had crab nuggets available that day, she responded "huh" extremely rude, he repeated himself asking for the crab nuggets, she responded no extremely rude again, and then rudely walked away to go tend to other people (yes we are black& the other people weren't) . The whole interaction was weird and uncalled for. I have absolutely no idea why she treated us like this. We left and decided to eat elsewhere after this interaction. Extremely disappointed& disgusted by service. Unfortunate because I was really looking forward to finally trying out this place.
I'm not sure what happened to apollo's! Several years ago when they were on Grand, and they were an amazing store the food was delicious, the drinks were on point! This place on Myrtle is absolutely horrible! I ordered some food from that not once but twice but several times, and every time I get my food no matter how many times I tell them they keep sending me the chicken refried 20 times! It is absolutely disgusting, and it tastes like nothing but oil! The people who work there don't want to work there! They act like they hate life!!! I think the health department should stop by this place!!!
Dumpy hole in the wall. Food came quickly. Orange chicken was 90% batter with tiny pieces of dried stale chicken at the center. Wayyy too sweet. Fried rice was bland. I'd be forgiving except this was $17.
Who ever is taking the orders over the phone obviously has ZERO COMMUNICATION with the kitchen. TERRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICES. SAFE YOUR MONEY AND PATRONIZE SOMEWHERE THAT RESPECTS THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
Service was awful, they all looked miserable. Ordered General Taos and the chicken was old, it was just reheated while being coated in sauce to hide its staleness. Very stingy with their substitutions. To top it all off there was a hair in my food, how sanitary. If I could give 0 stars for the overall excellent experience, I would. Didn't even offer anything for the inconvenience. Stay away !
I ordered food from this place the over the weekend and I was so disappointed 😭 the the delivery time was about 40minutes I paid around 22 dollars with the tip included . I ordered chicken broccoli with white rice which was tasteless and all saggy, but the worse was my special fried rice with chicken wings, it was uneatable, the wings were old and nasty looking, the rice brown due the type of oil the put in, I called to complaint and no answer, I end up buying from another place for cheaper and way better food. Not sure how this place has good reviews for me it was the first time and last. I took pictures of my food. I usually leave nothing but positive reviews but this one really deserve my complaint.
