Taqueria Cocoyoc Brooklyn Reviews
Great tacos only $3.50 a piece?? Killer
I’m not even here right now but I just have to say it was the best I had had in a while. Fish tacos, the best around. Also highly recommend the lengua.. Perfect place to kick back with a beer. I read half a book here. Astroturfed and tented yard, perfect for a party.. best sort of vibes. Kind and ambient staff. Music was nice not too loud.
Their food is flavorful and the portions are great. The average price for tacos for the places I've been is around $4. Here you pay the $4 but they load the tacos with a heap of chicken. Mexican style - cilantro and onions. The ladies are nice. There's a nice outdoor seating area also. Nothing fancy but definitely one of my favs.
Excellent, authentic Mexican food. Very fresh. The chips are made on site and are ridiculously yummy. I’ve been ordering from Cocoyoc for 14 years and it’s still my favorite place in the bright for Mexican food. Great for seated, takeout, or delivery.
My favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant! The servers/ladies here are sweet and always welcoming. They stay open late, so when you have late-night cravings, I go here! Try the limonada and mix some vodka; it is the best! Don't expect a Michelin-style atmosphere; this is a homie Mexican/Spanish type of carinderia. Love this place and have been here more than 5 times to eat!
Service was good. The place itself was without heat so I was super cold while we waited for our food. Then the food came and it was served on a plastic plate which was disappointing because here I am going to a restaurant to eat or taco place I would think I be served on a regular plate at least.
I always order in so this review is mostly about the quality of the food, as I haven’t dealt much with the staff. However the cashier who takes my order is nothing but nice and respectful, and the delivery guy is the same way except for one time a different delivery guy came he was all mad and rude but I guess it was just that kind of day. Anyways the food always arrives on time and it’s never soggy or cold and I think the portions of the food are perfect for the price and even the tacos come in good conditions, I do have to say I never really order on busy nights (like weekends) so that may be a factor in my food always arriving in good conditions, but the taste is great the nachos could be better, with better toppings but I think overall it’s authentic Mexican food!
Update: This place fell off sadly, got food poisoning after recently ordering here. When I lived in Ridgewood I used to order here all the time. Old Review: This place is one of the best spots in New York City hands down. I've been so several all over and none comepare to this place and one other on Nostrand, they are titans of the Mexican cuisine. My pictures are horchata, Chips and guacamole with a size of extra guac, Chicken Flautas and a Steak Chimichanga meal. I normally can't pass up steak or chick Tostadas but today I did. Have fun finding what you love best.
2 months ago - Ordered food today: Great food 5 stars for the food but the delivery man was very rude! I said, thank u for my food he rolled his eyes and left. I advise you don’t tip via credit card always give cash tip, after delivery man arrives. I would’ve never tipped him a cent if i knew he was going to be so rude. 10/05/22 - Great food. Today again I ordered from this place and the delivery man was extremely unprofessional. When asked whose the food for he ignored everyone in the clinic and slammed the door. This place should replace this man, it is clear he doesn't like his job.
Went when they open at 1100. Staffed said "we're still closed" how you have a business ready for service at 11am but still not ready... I don't get it
