Nook Brooklyn Reviews
such a cute little place!! i was looking for somewhere nice to chill with a book and a drink, and nook was perfect! i wasnt sure what to order, but my barista, ethan, was very kind and patient, recommending an oat milk cortado with cinnamon. it was SO good, and the art was stunning!! i will absolutely be back!
Chill, great for events, cozy for inspiration. Like the strawberry 🍓 matcha. They can add a second Restroom, and the lamps kept flicking got me spooked.
One of the best coffee shops in Brooklyn. Great for those looking to study or work remotely, very reliable wifi and tons of cozy seating. This place is very homey and comfortable, it’s very easy to spend hours here reading a good book or writing a report. There are weekly events in the evenings as well. Great spot to grab an iced drink near Maria Hernandez Park
Love this place! The sandwich I ordered was exactly what I needed, the baristas I spoke with were very friendly, and the environment is so welcoming!
Nook is my go-to when I need to get work done and actually focus. The coffee is good, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is chill without being too quiet. Whenever I need a change of scenery to be productive, this is the spot.
Fabulous vibes Yummy hot chocolate And coffee Loads of plants Great fun places to sit and chat Love this place!!
Fantastic atmosphere and the place works quick in a pinch. I was new to the area as I popped in for a competition at BrookLAN, but this place was wonderful for a quick bite and “escape” from the noise 👍
Nook is the best! I love hanging out here. Super cozy and great coffee.
Super chill cafe with the best vibes and cool activities going on every week. I’ve been here many times to enjoy one of their delicious matchas (with cozy syrup.. yum!) while getting some writing done. This time, I came with friends to enjoy the amazing live jazz and EspressoNookTini. We stayed longer to check out the comedy show and had a great night! I would and do definitely recommend!
Nook is the best coffee shop in Bushwick. Cozy space, lots of space to work from, great food options. It’s my go to.
Perfect place to meet people. Food and beverages are great. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and comforting. Baristas play great music as well. Price is affordable considering the area and the amount of tourist attraction. I hope it stays this way. It’s like your go to indie cafe you see in movies. There are actual people who go there. Thanks for the good times
This spot is one of my absolute favorites. The sandwiches I've had there have always been delicious, but I keep coming back for the space. Nook has such a home-y feel, and I'm not the only one to think so since it always seems to be busy!
Great little spot for a coffee break! Nook Coffee Shop has a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Their coffee and food are consistently delicious, and I love the variety of options they offer. Perfect place to work, relax, or catch up with friends. Highly recommend!
Love the place. Especially on Tuesdays when there is the weekly chess club. The place is always packed but never feels overcrowded. If you’re looking for a great sense of community all the players there are really kind and making even strangers feel welcome to partake. The drinks are always convenient to get at the bar and fairly priced as well which is always a bonus after the workday.
I just visited Nook for the first time today, and I'm already in love. Super cozy atmosphere and the baristas are awesome. Already can't wait to come back. Perfect spot to grab a coffee, catch up on work, or just hang out with friends (furry ones included). Definitely adding Nook to my faves list.
Gotta brag on the staff today. Came in around lunch time with my dog and we ordered a coffee and a sandwich. Left for a walk with the coffee and came back about 15 min later to grab the sandwich. Someone had grabbed mine by mistake and the staff immediately apologized, offered me a free coffee or pastry, and got right onto making the order again! They were super sweet and even though I was strapped for time today, I didn’t mind waiting because of how sweet and wonderful they were! By the time my sandwich was ready, another had been up to-go for a long time and they offered me that sandwich too! Love when a place rights a wrong, even tho it wasn’t their fault at all and it was another customer who grabbed my order by mistake. Will continue to come here even more! Bonus, they have free dog treats at the counter! Thank you all for making my day ❤️
The quintessential coffee house, you will always find amazing service, great drinks, and a relaxing and inviting space. When you can snag a seat here it's the perfect place to chill and read or dive into a project. They're weekly schedule is packed with inclusive and varies events, and they're open far later than any other coffee spot in the neighborhood.
Nook is by far my favorite coffee shop in New York City. The cozy and warm environment in there makes me feel at home and the baristas are the best!!! Specifically Cam, Lehman, and Nelson - they are always so kind and fun to engage with and are also a big reason I wake up early to come here before work. My only complaint is that there have not been gluten free options for years on end and I’d love to enjoy a gluten free bagel, gluten free sandwich, a gluten free muffin - anything breakfast or lunch-y that I could eat. Otherwise, Nook is the best and I’m so grateful for their presence in this neighborhood.
Sweet treats & coffee are exquisite, and the atmosphere of the venue is so cozy and creative. I love an environment where I can be surrounded by artists and people who are invested in a community-feel, and Nook does just that. Plus, lots of fun and unique events that constantly get my attention!
You can tell that hospitality is not an afterthought, management is on-site almost daily and environment is taken care of.
Nook is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn for a day of focused work, a conversation with a friend, or just a coffee with myself. They’re also gracious enough to let me host my monthly writing workshops + open mics in the space! 🫶🏽 David and his team are genuinely great people who take the time to make the space feel like community.
I really love this gem of a cafe. Aside from the coffee being excellent, the atmosphere is super cozy with lots of comfortable seating. I look forward to coming back.
I probably go here 2-3 times a week to work, game, and hobby. Service is always good, coffee is always good, great seating options (just be sure to get there early they tend to fill up). It's a great little neighborhood spot.
I’ve vended at Nook multiple times and it’s always a good vibe, even when the weather is a battle. Nook hosts so many amazing community events and tries to keep things friendly and accessible for everyone. The staff is always very kind. The drinks and food are always tasty.
tbh, this is The perfect coffee spot. Tons of seating inside and outside, WiFi, and different events throughout the week - from trivia to live jazz. Open late on weekends. Hella board games. Cute little marquee that displays run times for the L train (thank you for that). This is a good place for a quiet unwind after work, because they also sell craft beer. To top it off, every staff member has been so nice to me. My Personal faves are the chai latte & their selection of hot teas.
their hazelnut lattes taste like a ferrreo Rocher made a coffee they’re SO GOOD
Adore this place the events are always fun and lively. Perfect for a more upbeat night or chill day to get work down with some tasty drinks!
Great coffee and lovely atmosphere. So many events, shows, and gatherings to be a part of!
I rarely leave reviews but Nook is a special place! Love to stop by early for coffee, or in the evening for great beer and wine. Wednesday trivia night is always fun as well :)
I love this place, Very nice warm staff I come here to work all the time I always buy coffee or their sandwiches and even when I don’t, they don’t bother me really great environment love them so awesome
This place is such a great addition to Bushwick’s coffeeshop AND craft beer bar scene. A cafe during the day (great for working on your laptop, or just lounging one of the sofa with a magazine) and a bar at night. I had both coffee during the day and beer at night and both were excellent. The food menu is limited to melted cheese sandwiches (you can choose one from the menu or create your own depending on your bread / cheese / sauce preference) but they’re reasonably priced and my sandwich was delicious. Lots of events happening at Nook at night: trivia, open mic, comedy, live music, happy hour, and more.
SO glad this place is finally open; I’ve been walking past it for what feels like ages! The inside is absolutely adorable. Lots of great space for relaxing or working, both communally and solo. All the owner’s woodworking adds such a homey, cozy feel to the place. Great draft beer list—get the pretzel bites!
My favorite WFH spot right now when I need a change of scenery. Nice co-working vibes with all the other WFH peeps hanging out, and staff is super sweet. Decent coffee, love their avocado toast. Will probably eventually try everything else on the menu! They host a mix of activities on a weekly basis in the evening. Also, they have a subway clock that I love staring at throughout the day.
Every time I’m there I have at least one wonderful conversation! The people working are wonderful and the people there are cool and the space is so cozy to be in. Name is very fitting :)
I’ve participated in the arts and crafts fair twice now and it is always a great time! It’s a very organized event, and it’s a great experience for both customers and vendors. Also, their coffee and food is always delicious! A neighborhood staple for sure.
Friendly coffee place. It will make you feel like you are in your house living room 🏠. Where you can enjoy good ☕️ with friends or just by yourself working in your computer 🤓. They also a reward program where you get points and you can save something 💵. Also Avocado 🥑, sandwiches and beers 🍺. Definitely a good place for coffee, work or relax.
Like the matcha here! It gets super busy. I guess you need to get here early in a day to find the table. But when the weather is nice there is plants of sitting outside.
Such a fun coffee spot!! It was PACKED at lunch on a Tuesday. Got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, and tried the avocado toast and a sandwich with cheese ham egg and pickled red onion and spicy mayo spread. That bagel was in my dreams. The avocado toast was good (a nice safe option) and the sandwich was amazing. Got an iced oat milk latte which was creamy and smooth.
Great spot Warm and well designed Friendly staff (mix just like a Bushwick) Chill music and about 10-11am a lot of people are here working on laptops (seem like WFH nomads environment) Super cool is that they allow DOGS on leash and have treats at the counter for them (FREE) 🐶🌭🐾 Some say coffee is average, i would not agree. Strong and good quality for filter coffee. Why would everyone come if come was average :) i know.. space.. but still
I stopped by for coffee and to get some work done (there’s WiFi!). The space gets a lot of natural light and is filled with plants. There’s a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. The furniture inside is beautiful and made by the owner, David. Also the menu is great. I tried the grilled cheese sandwich and the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites. I highly recommend both. Lastly, the coffee is amazing!
Had the opportunity to come here for a quick bite on a weekday evening. The first thing I noticed was how spacious this cafe was. With seating both indoors and out, this offers patrons the option of enjoying the ideal cafe setting inside or being amongst the bustle of Bushwick outdoors. When it came time to order I was happy to see a curated list of both specialty drinks (lattes, alcoholic beverages, etc.), along with a healthy list of both breakfast and meal dishes too. We ended up trying out the Barista's Choice sandwich which was the perfect combination of turkey on sourdough with all the right fixings. Service here was also hospitable and the baristas were efficient in making and calling out orders, even when it was busy. I'd totally suggest checking out this venue if not for the food and drinks, then for the local events that are also hosted here on a weekly basis.
I come here for the atmosphere & the activities. The drink flavors are adventurous yet simple enough that someone who doesn’t like change can still enjoy. All summer I enjoyed the strawberry matcha latte, but this time around the barista was gladly able to make a matcha & hot chocolate mic for me. We also tried the Rosemary Maple latte, we really enjoyed. Thank you Nook!
Nook is a guaranteed cool vibe spot. There are comfy chairs, lots of books and nooks ;) to read in, and I bring my kid in to chill and watch people work. The food is great, nighttime activities are much needed and appreciated, and the staff is always on point. So happy they are my neighbors
Oh I just love it here. Such a community oriented atmosphere, perfect place to grind out some work, or just chill with friends. The drinks and food are also top tier, highly recommend a bagel and a salted maple latte (:
Their community outreach along with excellent food and service make me keep coming back. Their craft fair allow local entrepreneurs to show their work. It is really appreciated by my family and others.
i always stop into Nook when i need coffee in the neighborhood. the atmosphere is lovely, and there's plenty of seating inside & out. i LOVE that there's a proper cafe around here that is open late. if you're a caffeine fiend whose waking hours mean lunch at 5pm, you know what i mean!! service is quick and the drinks / food are delicious. any given night, you might stumble into a poetry reading or group writing circle. if you're waiting on their one, very clean and spacious restroom, check out the bulletin board for local, non-livenation events! last thing -- their to-go cups don't leak. it's a bigger deal than it sounds 😅
A place with soul. The coffee is delicious, and the atmosphere has something truly special , art, music, and good energy. Perfect for relaxing, getting inspired, or having a meaningful conversation. You can feel the care and love in every detail. Thank you David :)
Love this place. The environment is so cozy and colorful, I like the events it holds — a great third space. Food and drinks are good. I’ve tried the spicy nook (comes with an orange sauce on the side that makes me salivate just thinking about it), the preppy pesto, the strawberry matcha, and a blackberry hibiscus tea with lemonade.
The Nook has been my go-to coffee shop for years, and it never disappoints. The space is cozy and comfortable, perfect for working during the day or just hanging out with friends. It can get pretty crowded on weekdays, so I recommend getting there early if you want to grab a good spot. What really makes The Nook stand out are the extras beyond just great coffee and food (which are both consistently solid). They host craft nights, comedy shows, chess games, and more in the evenings and on weekends, which makes it feel like more than just a café—it’s a little community hub. If you’re looking for a place that feels warm, welcoming, and always buzzing with energy, The Nook is it.
I love this spot! I can't wait to attend more events. The peppy pesto was delicious. It has a great vibe, and I've met some awesome people here. It's a great setting to work, read, or socialize while enjoying a bite and/ or drink. It does get busy, so if there's an open seat, take it immediately!!
I took shelter here on a whim when it was raining really hard and am really glad I discovered this spot. Super friendly staff, good tea and, most notably, a very peaceful and calming atmosphere. The place has wifi, a restroom and most folks here seem to be just chilling quietly or doing some work on their laptop. Would recommend if you are in the area and need to recharge for a bit.
Would love to see more promotion and use of your reusable cups and mugs. I appreciate the option to create no waste with my glass of iced tea for example, but my friend was bummed all her stuff came wrapped in throwaway plastic. Maybe you could put up some signage to better communicate to all the folks working from your cafe who are all using single use cups. Otherwise great food and and atmosphere. Would also love to see a table or two reserved for folks who ARENT working remotely. Thanks for considering!
A cute corner coffee shop. The coffee here was average, but the pumpkin bread was heavenly. Their chai tea is quite spicy and comes out uber hot. There’s a variety of indoor and outdoor seating for studying, chatting, and working environments. Some picturesque spots for pictures. Service was quick. Free water was available too. Definitely a great atmosphere to be in to get some work done or meet friends to chat.
I want to love the nook, I really do. It has all the energy you want. Lately tons of people, long bathroom lines. It’s still has great vibes easy place to go and I am happy for them. Definitely go here when it’s a beautiful day and sit outside. Maybe I just go the bathroom a lot, lol. These folks are good just be cool if it’s gets busy.
Layout/atmosphere *Decent sized coffee shop; tables; window counters; couch with coffee table in back; digital scrolling screens with wait times for J, G, L & M trains nearby; tables on sidewalk; covered outdoor structure in street Service *Friendly Food/drink *Barista’s Choice (honey Turkey, Muenster cheese, Cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion on sourdough bread with garlic aioli on side) - Good; bread was crunchy, aioli was tasty, cheese was melty
This is a perfectly fine cafe except that it's *so crowded all the time.* People like to just bring their laptop and park it there for their entire workday it seems. But that's what the cafe itself is going for. It's fine if you're into that, but I can't stand it. I usually just get what i need and leave cause the drinks are good. I also really like their trivia night.
Cute coffee shop, pretty crowded. Pretzel bites were good. Good chai. I like the atmosphere.
Kind of pricey, but you’re not here for cheap food or coffee - you’re here for the vibes. Good place to go work, read, hang out, and meet people. They have events almost every night. Drinks and food are good
Went to attend an event but the event host never showed. Very packed with multiple everyday happening at the same time.
This place is very average. Everything’s acceptable, but not pleasant. It’s very crowded and feels weirdly corporate. I do like that they have a booth set up outside sometimes selling baked goods, misc. stuff.
Edit 6/26/25 Left feeling annoyed and like I wasted $7 as the wifi was out but the baristas, who were clearly well aware, decided not to start announcing it until ~10 people complained one after another. Wish I liked this place as much as some others do. Unfortunately, drinks can be inconsistent - sometimes I get a drink (chai, matcha, mocha) that isn't sweetened at all, then order it with simple syrup during my next visit only to be told that the drink already comes sweetened but I can add more syrup if I want. There's a lot of demand for seating inside the cafe because Nook's outdoor wifi doesn't work unless you're right up against the south wall. I personally come to Nook later in the day to take advantage of their late hours, but it can be especially hard to find seats inside during their evening events.
Came around 12pm on a Saturday and it was packed, as one would expect around lunchtime on a weekend. I managed to snag a seat at the larger communal table after trying out a high-top that creaked loudly at any movement. I ordered an ice matcha latte with oat milk and an almond croissant. The latte was fine, and the croissant was flaky, but without any of the crispiness and all of the soft moistness. The barista calling out drinks would alternate between calling out people's names or the drink order, which was confusing for me because I didn't want to accidentally take someone else's drink. When I tried confirming that my drink was mine, the worker kinda gave me attitude and just repeated what the drink order was. Decent spot for a drink, and the sandwiches looked appetizing, but not appetizing enough for me to want to return.
Very overrated and overhyped spot. First of all, NEVER EVER expect to be able to sit. I have been here 500 times and there's been an available seat maybe 3 times. Everyone knows this about Nook -- they are very busy and like, yeah, it's a nice place but I can't understand why they are constantly overcrowded to the max. You'd think they're giving away free coffee with the amount of people here at any given moment... It's an alright spot but don't EVER come here expecting to sit and chat with a friend, as there will be nowhere to sit 99% of the time.
I ordered breakfast to stay and three some goods to go. The barista at the register crammed all to-go items into a small bag, leaving them completely smashed. When I returned to the counter, a different staff member handed me the only intact item—without apology or offer to replace the others. I then informed the original barista that the packing had ruined the items and requested replacements. They responded "OK" and instructed the cashier to replace the crashed items. Again, no courtesy of taking responsibility. I was given the replacement items in separate bags, but without any acknowledgment or courtesy. I've been a regular since moving here a few weeks ago, but will not be returning.
Honestly wish this place would get taken over and turned into a friendlier business. I used to come here a lot, order a full breakfast with coffee to read for an hour but the service is so downright mean. I don’t even need friendly service but the people who work here and run this shop are actually mean. The coffee and food are very under par on quality so there is no reason to come here except for squatters and that is why there are so many young people who sit here for hours without ordering much. I take my business somewhere else.
Never seats. They don’t like taking cash. Service is slow. Other better places to support nearby like nanas or foster sundry
This place gets so hectic, no one can come in and enjoy a drink unless you come at opening time I guess. The last time I went, I ordered a chai latte and even with the smallest cup, they still managed to give an ounce or two less. The service is non-existent and the baristas will throw your drinks on the counter, as if they don't want to serve you again. I don't recommend this place at all.
it looks like a super nice place but it was 20 degrees outside and the heat was not working!! it took me 15 minutes after buying a drink and trying to work to understand i won't be able to do so and it was for nothing. I think if you can't accommodate your customers don't sell to them. only after I asked about the heating did the employees explain.
