La Perla Brooklyn Reviews
Very nice place, dropped in here after Brooklyn Bridge Flea Market on Saturday afternoon, had a wonderful, tasty salad. Cool vibe, chill music, very nice and attentive service. The only annoying thing is the endless stream of people coming in to ask to use the toilet, like there was a public toilet sign somewhere - and some even getting upset at being refused, with a sens of entitlement. Must be annoying for the staff.
I entered this place blinded by hunger with my friends after being clueless in dumbo. I will say with confidence this place is great! I the tomato sauce in the rigatoni was very tasty and all the pasta’s were cooked al dente or at least to our liking. I’ll point out that the price is above the average price I’ve paid for a dish like this, but it didn’t hurt because the dish tasted better than I expected anyway. I would happily go here again.
Excellent food and ambience, we order prosciutto pizza and burrata, they gave us an appetizer and also dessert on the house, really amazing!
The pizza was beyond savory! This restaurant gives a very romantically dim-lit vibe. There's sparkling and tap water offered. The pizza was pretty affordable. The waiters are all very lovely and quick on their feet. I can't wait to return. My friend enjoyed their lasagna a lot as well. I definitely recommend this spot.
we came here for some pizza. We got 3 varieties. Each pie was AMAZING. The arugula & prosciutto was my fave. Hope to come here again next time it rains
carne asada with everything included is so good. coming often now! highly recommend!
It's a nice family oriented place. And if you want to watch soccer games live they also have it displayed on big screen
we got a super baleada and a sopa de res and both were so good!! i will be back
Una baleada con todo, y una Banana Soda! To Go! Baleadas were delicious and fluffy, Not fake stuff here!
If you are planning to eat inside have in mind that you are going to wait at least 30m is better to pre-order before you get there or wait your 30m, but the food is worth the wait trust me
The food is amazing. Great price. There beef is fantastic. Plates will def fill you up. The super baleadas will get you full. Just one is enough and its an appetizer lol
Very good food, but the waiters all gathered on the counter and it was very, very difficult to call them. We had a Prosciutto with mozzarella as starter — goes very well with a Primitivo wine! Gnocchi al Forno and Pappardele with boar ragu were also great.
As a Honduran, this is some of the best Honduran food I’ve ever had. Very friendly and attentive staff. Quick service and very reasonably priced.
The waiters had that attitude where they are better than you or not worth their time. I did not feel welcomed. Also its cash only so know before you go there. The pizza was small and a bit pricey but good. I liked the food.
i ordered their rustic pizza which features sopressata and red peppers. the pie came out within 5 minutes which is nice if you want a quick bite. the pizza itself was decent— nothing really outstanding about it. the tomato sauce and cheese were pretty standard and the sopressata was one of the redeeming qualities. they do use a brick oven to bake their pizzas which adds a nice charcoal/smoky flavor
Great baleadas! Great spot for Honduran food only thing i didn't like was the vibe music is mad loud o get there and they don't even ask me if I want to order or if I order by phone music is so loud they can't hear me plus I had my mask took them like 10 minutes to ask me what I wanted luckily I called ahead and I was seeing them making my food if not I would've been pretty mad 🙃 😅 other than that great food ! Everything is home made
interesting experience. didn’t know you could really go wrong with pizza in Brooklyn, or pizza in general, but we made the mistake of wanting to try one of the unique Wood Fire Pizza options, so decided on the Soppresata!!! pizza. But received a much different pizza than what was featured on the online menu. As a frequent traveler and long time F&B myself, I’m not normally one to leave negative reviews - but draw the line on receiving a pizza with Maraschino cherries on it. We didn’t sent it back considering how long it took to get our glasses of wine (20 mins) and pizza (30+),on a Monday night after 7, despite the 3 other tables in the restaurant already eating when we’d arrived, we were hungry, disappointed, and still had an open mind about trying the pizza. If the pizza didn’t have the maraschino cherries on it, it would’ve probably been good, but a $67.50 bill (not including tip) for a pizza, 2 glasses of wine, and a single shot espresso… honestly, wouldn’t recommend.
The food was not worth the price. The location was cute. The drinks were mediocre. The presentation was very underwhelming. What saved everything was Arthur our server The location if you don’t mind passing trains over head is decent. The drinks were mediocre and poorly executed. Dishes served on super chipped plates. Arthur who I wish I had nothing bad to say still didn’t really know the liquor they had at the bar. And had to be reminded to bring certain items to the table. Miss matching silverware, the roughest napkins, and barely any ice in the drinks. Especially on a very warm day that it was. This occasion reminds me why I always Google search and read reviews on places so that I have a heads up. So that when I’m out on a date and not just randomly picking a spot because of a location. That is worth my time, calories, and hard earned money. Thank you for a horrible experience will never recommend and will tell others to stay away
$30 for a vegan ice cold pizza I'm not living far and the driver told me that it wasn't even hot anymore when it got picked up Why is it without tomato sauce? Even if it would have been hot it would be overpriced. inedible They haven't responded to my message or phone call, not interested to improve.
Kudo's to the pizza baker, great pizza with thin crushy bottom. The service without a smile. That girl came without any request from me with the receipt and herself made 22% tip in it. Without any shame, no smile nor eyecontact and without any words. Shameless. I do not recomment
Excellent Food, But Awful service. I ordered two baleadas they gave me 3 and none of them like I ordered. Then when I ask what happened the lady said, we don't have avocado, but the waiter did not said so. Then they did not have pastelitos, come on, it is the simplest thing to cook, how can you ran out of ingredients for pastelitos. Then I placed a second order (I had to walk to the counter for a third time since there is not a trained waiter or waitress), 40 minutes later we got the food packed to go, when I did not ordered it so. Also it is CASH ONLY. The food is amazing, they actually use Honduran ingredients and everything tastes great. However, every time I take a guest I have to warn them about the terrible service which some think outweighs the food quality. Service need to be improved.
On October 3rd, at approximately 7:30 PM, I entered Love and Dough Pizzeria. My uncle had just purchased a box of pizza, and within 10 minutes, I re-entered with two little girls, ages six, to use the restroom. When I asked the manager, Stefon, if the children could use the bathroom, he was extremely rude and dismissive, despite me explaining that I was a paying customer. Hoping for help, I approached the waiter, Alex, but he looked me up and down and walked away without a word. The cashier, Ri, was the only staff member who showed kindness. She listened politely, though she seemed embarrassed by her colleagues’ behavior. Because she could not resolve the issue, I purchased another slice of pizza ($5.25) just to be able to allow the children access to the bathroom. Only then did Stefon return and say we could use the restroom as though I had not already been a paying customer. The entire interaction was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely lacking in customer service etiquette. The pizza itself was below average, but the bigger issue was the negative energy, dismissive attitude, and lack of basic courtesy from management and staff. I told them to keep the slice I had purchased and suggested they give it to someone in need, as I refused to take it after such treatment. I will not return to this establishment and cannot recommend it to anyone not because of the food alone, but because of the appalling behavior and lack of respect for customers.
My one-star rating comes not because of the sub-par yet overpriced pizza, but due to the abysmal service and treatment my partner and I received during our less-than-30-minute stay at this establishment. Both waiter & host barely said any words to us. The waiter, in serving my partner his ordered drink, slammed the glass onto our table abruptly and left. Said waiter also brought us the cheque before we even finished our pizza. We received the message loud and clear and so we paid and left not long after. I suppose the one good thing about the situation is that we did not have to wait long for our meal to come to our table, so we were not subject to spending too much time in an establishment where we were clearly unwelcome. I've now read the other poor reviews from other POC on here and should've done it before patronizing this establishment. Regrettably dined in on May 31st at around 2:30pm.
Literally just went here, 5/10/25 , 7:15 pm, and guy at the door has the energy of a bouncer! Blocking the door! Are you closed? No. Whites only? No? I see a Sister sitting in the front. Weird, I didn't feel welcomed! Totally turned off and went next door to Tommy's Bar and Burger, which was friendly, welcoming, and with better ambiance and food and drinks were amazing! Don't go here!
Do not order anything fresh here. My salad had tons of rotten lettuce, some old, cold, tough brussel sprouts, some of which had brown centers, some grated Parmesan, and the one edible part of the salad- toasted pine nuts. I got to sift through all of this while seated next to a filthy wall.
Terrible experience. The manager was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and borderline aggressive. We had friends visiting from Germany and wanted to give them a classic NY pizza moment. We saw the large pie on display and asked if we could order it for the table—happy to pay for all the slices or even an upcharge. The waiter initially said no but suggested asking the manager. When I politely explained the situation, the manager abruptly and repeatedly said “no” with no explanation, just cold, dismissive responses that made the staff visibly uncomfortable. I remained polite the entire time, but his demeanor made the entire experience uncomfortable and embarrassing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Spending $200 has never hurt so much! Here’s his photo so you could stay clear of this place!
I would give 0 stars if I could. The place had a a funky smell but I gave it a chance. Shouldn’t have because the smell definitely came from the spoiled cheese that was on my pizza slice. I couldn’t even finish my pizza. After I left I checked out the market across the street for about 10 minutes before my stomach started to hurt (probably from the pizza) I had to use the restroom so I went back here and was turned away, first because they said I wasn’t a “paying customer” after I reminded them of the pizza I just bought they changed it and said “the restroom is for dining customers only”. Terrible, spoiled food and even worse hospitality. DO NOT give this place your time or money.
The lasagna taste horrible, n the hangar steak tasted spoil the only good thing was the fries 🍟 for the price we paid $100.00 with tip it was not worth it , I do not recommend this place at all 👎👎
I would give zero stars if that was an option. $100 for two pizzas and plain pasta. The pizza was just okay, and the pasta was overdone mush. The service was awful. We waited forever for our food, they refused the simplest requests (no sauce on pasta), and then we waited forever for our check. Every table around us was complaining about food arriving late or incorrect. The table next to us had to ask three times for cutlery. Then, the server had the absolute gall to tip herself above the standard percentage on my card, requiring me to contest it with my bank. Lastly, the chairs are cheap plastic, and every time we moved, the legs went out from under us - and trying to get to the door in a tiny and overcrowded space was anxiety-producing. We will never come back.
I don’t recommend this place at all. Very rude and the waiter ignored me 3 times after they sat me down and told me my food will come out in 5mins, but actually took 40mins. The guy at the front desk is very rude and gives attuide. The food wasn’t good it was warm and bland.
Service has to get better honestly. There is no reason why someone’s child should be running around the table where someone is dining. Lastly, after I was done with my meal no one checked on me to see if everything was okay or to bring me the bill. Also my meal was $26 dollars and I was charged $33. I won’t be returning to this establishment.
The ingredients of our dishes tasted like they had gone bad, definitely not fresh. The yuca we ordered seemed to have gone sour and the cheese used in boleada tasted like stale feta. My first time trying Honduran food and was hugely disappointed.
I just didn't like the restaurant. Is clean but missing some charm. I request from the menu a red beans soup and i was told didn't have it. So i got upset. The waiter when to the kitchen and came back and say to me the cook will make it for you. That i gave the cook 100 stars, it was so but so delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant because the cook when out of the way to pleased me. I NEVER had this type of service in a Honduras restaurant.
