Seitan's Helper Brooklyn Reviews
One of my favorite places in the neighborhood! You can tell the care they put into every sandwich, even down to the wrapping. Also has the nicest people working there, always feel welcomed and service is amazing.
I make a habit to go to Seitan’s Helper every time I’m in New York for work. I get 4 sandwiches , to also have with me for traveling back on the train. As a vegetarian , getting a good sandwich is hard … but these 2 take sandwiches to a new level and make them above and beyond. On top of the amazing food , the 2 owners are lovely people, and are always jamming out to some 2000s pop-punk Highly recommend to anyone , vegan/vegetarian or not!!
Literally my favorite sandwich shop in NYC. My vegan friends love it. My non-vegan friends love it. The owners are so welcoming and nice! And they always have good daily specials to keep things interesting. Do not miss it. 💗
Wow these are yummy seitan-based sandwiches! Great selection of sandwich varieties, friendly and helpful staff, and a place to pull up a stool and chow down if that's what you need.
Could’ve sworn I’d reviewed Seitan’s Helper before, at least a few years ago if not longer, when I first had my mind blown by one of their tasty sandwiches!!! They seriously make the most delicious cold cuts, and the most brilliantly concocted sandwich combos, this food is definitely not to be missed. Their bread is also phenomenal—it’s got just the right amount of give/sponginess that just perfectly surrounds the filling, no ingredients flying out, no big mess, but neverrrr soggy. Just gigantic, thoughtfully layered, sandwich perfection. The Muffy is my literal DREAM on their new menu bc the olives and pesto are like ZING! My old fave was the sexy devil which really spoke to my love of spicy/acid, and my partner loves the triple threat which is and has always been a menu staple. Plus they’ve always got banging specials! You just can’t go wrong!!! Go vegan!!
Despite it being my first time here, they treated me like it was my hundredth. I got the muffy and beer cheese potato soup. As someone from New Orleans, I had high expectations for the sandwich and was not disappointed! Next time, I think I'll ask for a bit of mayo/sauce and see if maybe they'd heat it up for me!
Never mind vegan - the triple threat might be the best sandwich ever. Solid place to eat, fantastic sandwiches that happen to be vegan, staff are extremely nice, cosy and neat atmosphere. I'm no vegan, I love meat personally, but these sandwiches are just plain killer, and thankfully I can bring my vegan friends and family here! I take my goth husband here to keep him happy. Street parking is usually available. If you're in the area, make it a point to eat here!
Sooooo good. I’ve been here twice—once in the summer and again this weekend—and everything has been amazing both times. I ordered the Kraken and the oyster mushroom chowder yesterday and they were so good. If I didn’t live so far, I would’ve gone back again today. The staff is always friendly and respectful too, which I really appreciate. Great customer service goes a long way.
Awesome place. Staff are super welcoming, food is unreal - I'm not a vegan but had one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while here. Super reasonable prices too
Simply the best. I love this place so much. The staff is kind. The selection offers classic and inventive sandwiches that are always delicious! Their labor of love is the perfect cure for a hangover… or just a regular empty stomach.
The three special sandwiches I got from here were the blood moon, red riding hood, and cease her. All three exceeded my expectations on price, quality, size of sandwich, and taste. The veggies in the sandwich were fresh and balanced the seitan and each sandwich was unique/tasty in its own way. The blood moon was my favorite because it the unique components of the sandwich tasted so good together. Will be back to try other specials as well as their consistent sandwiches.
I've been going to Seitan's Helper probably since 2021/2022. They have consistently made fantastic sandwiches, and they are always so sweet every time I go. I do not live too close so I go when I can and have never had an unpleasant experience even once. I hope they will continue to do well and be able to expand their menu once again. The restaurant business is so hard and I've seen many great places close their doors over the years that eventually become a chain restaurant that is not nearly as good. Support this business. My non-vegan mom eats from there every time I pick up food.
Amazing sandwich shop! They make all their seitan by hand to use in unique sandwich combos. Everything is vegan and delicious! The Muffy is incredible and so filling. They have a great variety of breakfast sandwiches as well. Be sure to checkout their specials each day as they put together some great combos. You must stop here if you're in Bushwick!
Seitan’s Helper is a phenomenal vegan deli! The Zombie Bride sandwich is quite possibly the tastiest vegan sandwich I’ve ever had. The combination of buffalo tofu, pickles, slaw, and avocado is absolutely perfect. Amanda’s customer service was also superb, making the entire experience even better. Highly recommend!
This review was long overdue. I’ve been coming here for years even though I don’t live nearby. Seitan’s helper has the best vegan sandwiches in NYC. I travel to the city specifically for seitan’s helper, it is worth the two hour trip plus traffic. Everything on the menu is amazing. I recommend EVERYTHING! Every time I make the trip, I make sure to stock up. i usually get the triple threat which is one of my favorites. If you’re unsure what to get an If you’re unsure what to get i recommend building your own sandwich. All the seitan, breads , sauce's and etc are all made from scratch. You can tell a lot of love goes into what they do. Not only is their food amazing but so is their customer service. They are so welcoming and accommodating. I wanted to purchase something for my toddler daughter to eat so I asked if they had a kids menu. They don't have a kids menu but without hesitation made a grilled cheese just for my daughter. I would eat here everyday if I could.
Hands down the best vegan sandwich I had. I am visiting from Chicago, which still doesn’t have a huge variety of vegan restaurants yet, so food was everything in this trip!! This place was amazing. Sweet staff and amazing sandwiches. I wish it was open tomorrow, I would have gone back for more. Definitely will be back when I’m back in NYC
So happy to finally have a vegan cafe near me! I love the cakes, focaccia is to die for, and the vegan croissants are perfect beyond words. I finally began trying all of the sandwiches offered and oh my god they are delicious as well! The go to is the italian type sandwich but all of them are worth a try! I'm still making my way down the menu. The cold brew is also delicious if you're curious about their coffee too. Give it a try! Definitely some of the best i've had in this area and my time in New York.
Absolutely delicious vegan pastries and sandwiches! The vegan croissant was delicious and so fluffy. I really want their recipe for getting that perfect rise. I also got a Hammy sandwich, which is a tofu scramble with seitan and it was delightful and delicious. It felt like such a luxury to eat. On the day we went, they sold out by 2:30pm on a Thursday. So if you’re making a trip here then be sure to plan for it accordingly and have a backup if needed! It might’ve been because they just came back from a break and so demand surged but we we’re definitely surprised to be getting the last croissant so early in the afternoon.
