Padmore’s Brooklyn Reviews
Padmores is hands down my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. The staff are genuinely some of the nicest people you’ll meet. Not fake nice — real, warm, remember-your-order type of nice. They’re attentive without hovering, and every drink is made fresh from scratch and always hits. The menu is just right — no fluff, just solid options. I love the different seating setups too — cozy bench vibes, round tables for catching up, long shared tables when I need to cowork. There’s always a spot that fits my mood. And the music? That’s my favorite part. As a Bed-Stuy native, it’s easy to feel out of place in a neighborhood you grew up in because of how much gentrification has changed things. But Padmores blends old and new Brooklyn so well. On certain days they’re playing real throwback Hip-Hop, R&B, and Soul — the classics. It feels familiar. It feels like home. I really hope they never lose that vibe. There are plenty of cafés around here, but I’ll choose Padmores every time.
I’m obsessed with this neighborhood cafe. It’s so cozy and spacious, great to hang out or get some work done. Great coffee and pastries. Great music playlist too!
Such friendly people and wonderful vibes. The sorrel iced tea is a must and the cranberry coconut cookie is amazing.
Top-notch cafe experience. Welcoming, bright, spacious & cozy. The staff took the time to converse with me while having a brew at the bar. The details down to the speakers, flooring, art & tunes are on point. To top it all off the coffee & the pastries slapped!
Padmores is hands down the best coffee shop in the neighborhood (and there are many). The ambience of the shop is great, the staff are always incredibly pleasant, and the coffee and pastries are excellent. A real neighborhood gem that deserves your business!
Great vibes, space, music, coffee, and super friendly staff! And right off the train station so easy to get to. Will likely be my new WFH space :)
Padmores is my favorite, and dare I say the best, coffee shop in Bedstuy. Perfect environment for catching up with friends or focusing on a project. The playlists are excellent and Jamal’s roasts are always on point.
We discovered Padmore’s on a bright and sunny New Year’s Day and were thrilled with the coffee, atmosphere, and warm and friendly service. The music was perfectly curated and at just the right level, making us want to linger - my husband even sat at the gorgeous communal front table, which he NEVER does. What a great addition to the neighborhood!
Came on a weekday morning and it wasn’t swarming with people! There was space to sit and work and it’s air conditioned with a clean bathroom. Coffee was great! Definitely making this a staple ☺️
Vibes and Tribe. The expression same attracts same couldn’t be truer! From the customers to the baristas, everyone is very cool! The music = EVERYTHING. The minute you walk in until you leave, your head will stay rocking. The place is a Vibe✨
First time here and absolutely loved it! The staff and owner are so kind and welcoming! They helped me find a good seat and were fun and kind to talk to with so many customers! Their vibe made working from here feel like working at a friends house! Also the coffee is so good! Also love the zataar lemon pastry!! Will definitely be back! They also had lots of outlets and a bathroom! Perfect place to hang for a while!! The prices are also super affordable compared to other nyc cafes!

I had been watching and waiting for this place to open up across the street for a while! It has a great ambience and I look forward to making this my new spot to grab a coffee, and/or hangout to do some work. Also, want to shoutout the owner who gave the warmest welcome during the first visit!

This place has a special place in my heart (not only cause the owner and I share a unique name) because Jahmal has put so much time and effort into building this space - physically and community. The aesthetic and ambiance of this shop is a vibe. The music is amazing. The coffee is great and the pastries are wildly delicious. Seriously. Had one of the best almond croissants of my life. Highly recommend.
Padmore's is my favorite cafe in Bedstuy! Not only is the coffee/tea great, but the space is perfect for working (big windows, plenty of seating/outlets, free wifi, etc). On top of that, the staff is amazing. They're chatty, friendly and you can tell that they genuinely want to create a comfortable atmosphere for their customers. Whether you want to lock in and work, or have a casual hang, Padmore's is the spot :)
I love this place! Coffee is excellent, service is grand, and they always have the best music playing. There’s a sense of community that keeps me coming back. The owner cares and treats his people well. As a native New Yorker, I’ve seen my share of establishments and Padmores is a special one.
An absolutely lovely establishment. Wonderful people, delicious coffee, good vibes, an owner who obviously cares about cultivating and contributing to the local community. Exactly what you want from a coffee shop. I highly highly recommend this place, and am so grateful it is in this neighborhood.
Yes, Padmore's provides our little nook of Bed Stuy with premier specialty coffee. And whether the beans are its lovingly curated blends or its carefully sourced single origin batches, each drink goes Ali vs Frazer or Duran vs Leonard with all the other premier specialty coffee shops in NYC. And yes, Padmore's is also ~the~ new gathering spot in the neighborhood… in part because of its space. It's clean and rustic and modern. Hard wood floors and exposed ceilings mix with its carefully curated art work and tasteful branding. Stunning, really. Even the furniture is immaculate. Dozens of us are regulars. DJ's spin almost weekly. Run clubs and book clubs, first dates and break ups, study sessions and slack channels all fill the space with its daily pulse -- a pulse as addictive as the C^8 H^10 N^4 O^2 we all seek. But... when you go to Padmore's there's one obvious differentiator from the other fleet of specialty coffee shops that sprawl across this meritocratic metropolis... Jamal, the owner, and his team deal in smiles and care. I know it's cheesy but it's just true... Whether it’s that little bit of banter that leaves a customer laughing, or a hungover patron in search of some caffeinated headache relief, the staff all take care of you. It starts with Jamal. He's the hub. But each of the staff follow his lead, man. They're all great. And the result is twofold: One, amazing coffee. Two, a safe, comfortable, productive and yet relaxed vibe for everyone. 10/10
I highly recommend this coffee cafe. Coffee was good and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Shout out to Eli for his espresso making tips.
Amazing service and drinks from friendly and knowledgeable baristas, including the owner Jamal. Great environment for working, catching up with a friend, or just stopping in for a quick coffee to go.
Absolutely loved my first time here! Super friendly staff. The coffee is amazing. The space is large and there is a lot of room to meet a friend and work. Great vibes/energy. Will definitely be back and recommend!
This place is lit. The coffee is good, the staff is friendly and there’s plenty of space to do work and hang. Also feel like I’m at a free concert because whoever’s in charge of the aux is crushing it.
Favorite espresso in the neighborhood. I love coming here for whatever reason, staff is excellent and the environment is so spacious. Amazing neighborhood staple.

The shop itself is a great space! Love the atmosphere, coffee was horrible. A a coffee shop owner I tasted and know we were served burnt espresso, and given regular milk when specially asked (and paid) for oat. Came in 1:30pm to an empty pastry case, and the menu is vague if yall have flavors let your customers see that to make up their minds before the get to the reg. This coffee made me go straight to the bathroom and threw my appetite for the rest of the day. Customer service was great but he was clearly with someone who was new, who shouldn’t have been on bar. staff needs re training on how to mix drinks, I’m shocked to see how matcha is prepared. Sad
